That sounds more like a problem with poor moderating. When a handful of people are ruining something for the entire board then you ban them, that's it, no warning and no questions. Erase their existence.
Also, the major gripe I see people have with the podcast bros is that they advocate for hard to find figures. They crave it. And it's fine, I don't see any evidence that shows they have Bill Miekina's ear or are on the phone right now with The Waltons begging them to ask for exclusives. If they leave (are they even on here?) it's no big loss, their fans will simply interact with them primarily on social media (if that isn't already the case).
I’m guessing they browse the forum but I don’t know the last time Ryder made a post. I don’t even know what Hawkins’ username is. Hawkins is def on here or has been on here, he has talked about it in shoots but I don’t think he has ever said or referenced his name |

Definitely wasn’t expecting to get on here today and see all of this bickering and complaining.......but then at the same time, I’m not surprised. Well, when the one figure revealed is a debut fig and looks pretty cool but is yet another one-per-case store exclusive, I get it. I haven’t seen Bob or Pete yet. Will I? I’m not sure. |

Side note... Ryder and Hawkins are just the worst So you’re talking out both sides of your mouth then? Cuz I’m not sure if you’re siding with Ryder or the people that are upset. Now as far as the actual figures, obviously there’s something wrong if everywhere you turn people are complaining about not being able to get a product. And this isn’t just a one time thing, it’s been constant: Fan Central 1 & 2 Hall of Champions 3 NXT 4 Flashback 3 specifically Harley Race Pete Dunne Sherri (a little early on that one but considering how often this problem happens it’s still valid) These figures have all had incredibly bad distribution. And at what point do they finally react? People are complaining on Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, this board, everywhere. And you would think that after awhile they would do an about face and try something else. But no, they’ve continued to act like Nintendo does with their Amibos and either they are not producing enough supply to meet demand or once again their terrible distribution has struck yet another time. |

Until U.S. collectors know what it's like to have to get half of your figures online at double the price (not including customs fees), they really shouldn't be complaining about the odd chase figure...  |

Now as far as the actual figures, obviously there’s something wrong if everywhere you turn people are complaining about not being able to get a product. And this isn’t just a one time thing, it’s been constant: Fan Central 1 & 2 Hall of Champions 3 NXT 4 Flashback 3 specifically Harley Race Pete Dunne Sherri (a little early on that one but considering how often this problem happens it’s still valid) These figures have all had incredibly bad distribution. And at what point do they finally react? People are complaining on Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, this board, everywhere. And you would think that after awhile they would do an about face and try something else. But no, they’ve continued to act like Nintendo does with their Amibos and either they are not producing enough supply to meet demand or once again their terrible distribution has struck yet another time. I’m siding with Ryder, but that doesn’t mean I enjoy them. |

I could not care any less about someone having a figure in their collection that I don't - all I care about is the figures in MY collection.
Why does it seem that every thread has to resort to pettyness & bickering?

I love the pod as I’ve said many times but their take on chase figures this week especially was tone deaf. To tell us all it’s the thrill of the hunt right after telling us they skipped it and got Sherri given to them is poor form. No beef, just a difference of opinion.

The difference in the chase 63 Shelton current/Flashback, 64 Hawkins Blue/Black, 65 English no deco scarf/deco scarf, I don't care which version I was able to get I had a fair shot to get them. The issue is 63 Bob Backlund, 64 Pete Dunne, 65 Sherri, 66 Alexander Wolfe, 68 Pat Patterson, 69 Liv Morgan all debut figures exclusive to one store that's the issue collector's are having is Mattel may not make these guys again. They should have made them in decent quantities or solid packed cases like network spotlight, the dc multiverse exclusive figures where everyone has a fair crack at them.

Not to totally derail this thread any more than it has been, but I never got into the "Thrill of the hunt" ...I got things to do. LOL. I don't want to drive around spending my day "hunting" I don't even mind paying a few bucks over on eBay if it saves me from standing in a line for hours. There are people who still enjoy finding and buying things from a store when it is part of a routine. Nobody is forcing anybody to go to 10 or 12 Walmarts or Targets in 1 day hunting for toys. LOL, When I wrote "I", I meant "I" as in me. I wasn't speaking for anyone else. People can do whatever they wish with their lives, I'm just posting my opinion on the "thrill of the hunt" aspect. For me, personally, it is not a constructive use of my time when I have more important things I should be doing. I have the same opinion on camping out overnight to get into Hall H at comic con or getting to the mall 5 hours before a store opens for an exclusive figure...not for me, I don't get it, won't do it. Fair enough? ..and can we dispense with the "no one is forcing you" retort that I see thrown around a lot? I would think everyone is pretty much in agreement that no one, company or entity is forcing anyone to support their product. We do it out admiration and love of the said product. Its dismissive to the collector and fan to say deal with it the way it is because no one is "forcing you" when we are making significant financial (and in some cases time) commitments. If anything, the only thing I can see anyone "forced" into doing is no longer supporting the product by the company which is making the merchandise relatively hard to acquire. People literally want to give the company money and they choose to make it difficult. |
