So I'm big enough to admit when I'm wrong. When Aleister Black was announced as the next major signing for NXT I scoffed at his look; yet another "small guy" on the roster filled with midget wrestlers like the Undisputed Era. Over the years though, Black has impressed the hell out of me. It helps too to know that he's a badass outside of the ring and is married to Zelina Vega Anyways I don't want to begin to think of the gross money I spent on getting this guy...not to mention the cheap Seth (for the calves fix-up) and the Bobby Roode for the NXT belt (coming soon). But I lucked out with Harley Race, getting him fairly cheap before he got super rare, and I didn't want to make a mistake with this Black, so I'm pretty sure I made a small investment into the seller's kid's college tuition fund. I don't say this often, but this is probably the best damn figure Mattel has ever made. Front view Back view TrueFX in effect The Ink #1 The Ink #2 Height fix-up I'm an old school collector and even I know this figure is a must-have BELLY DAT!

So cool you got Black! I see that the Rollins’ calves are a little bit bigger than the boots with the fix up but i think it is acceptable, right?

You take back the mean things you said about Adam Cole (Bay Bay!) and friends, or you won't be invited to my birthday party.

It's an amazing fig. I got lucky and found a fresh case yesterday and grabbed both Aleisters.

I don't get the hate smaller wrestlers get. Like, if you like your men 250 pounds of baby oiled muscle, cool, I get it. Fetishes and what not.
A 5'10 quarterback is about to be possibly the first pick in the NFL draft.
A 6'0 shooting guard was first in the NBA draft 2 decades ago.
Demetrius Johnson and Floyd Mayweather are considered all time greats in REAL combat sports.
But this guys or that guy is 'too small' to be a pro wrestler? Crazy talk.

Bringing up that a six foot guy was number 1 pick 20 years ago does nothing to support your point that other sports are accepting of smaller guys because it’s not as though that’s become the norm or even a more frequent occurrence. They’re exceptions so it seems like you were attempting to be misleading. Even your point about Floyd and DJ is moot because their sport has weight classes. I’m not a small man hater but in other sports like the nba, guys are on average getting taller and more athletic kinda like how I saw the direction wrestling going in when guys like Sean ohaire were coming out of the power plant. Even Brock doing shooting star presses. But they too are the exception in terms of athletic ability.

But little guys have a bigger impact in pro sports now than they ever have. The small wrestlers are getting bigger pops and have more fanfare than the big guys. Not debatable. They are also more fun to watch. Again, not debatable. Bringing up other guys was to show that other sports have come to grips with the facts that being little isn't a disability. It's not just Iverson 20 years ago. Steph curry is a 2 time mvp and the best shooter ever. Not opinion. In basketball terms, hes a midget. Listed at 6'3, but he isnt. Russell Westbrook is listed at the same height. He has had a historic 3 year run that no big man has ever had. Isaiah Thomas was a top 3 mvp vote getter a few years ago. In football, look at drew brees, Russell Wilson, Baker Mayfield, kyler Murray. Times have changed. Being tall and having a never ending supply of baby oil doesn't mean crap anymore. Even in fighting, yes there are weight classes. Fight mighty mouse. I'll bet the house on him. Hes 5'3. And he'll likely make you cry. Even the UFC heavyweight champion is under 6 feet tall and has a dad bod. It's time we no longer pretend that being tall makes you more legit or being muscular makes you a threat. It's a fetish. Nothing more.

Maybe you're using "fetish" on purpose to annoy someone, but that's like saying someone has a "fetish" for action movies because they like action movies and not Hindi dance numbers or whatever.

It means so much more when a guy like Undertaker does a dive over the top rope during a high profile PPV match than guys like Rollins or Balor who are two modern guys I do like doing it multiple times on every RAW or match they have.

Why are short people so sensitive Anyways I agree with PJ on this one. I appreciate Richochet’s flippity-flips, but nothing beats ring psychology and story-telling. Black can do it, Velveteen Dream can do it, but I see nobody on 205 live yet that can get me invested in their match. An Arn Anderson and Jake Roberts wrestling school would have been phenomenal!

I agree it's overkill these days no doubt. But seth Rollins vs styles will always be more fun than Braun vs Corbin. And it's usually because they're 'too small'and have to perfect their craft where as Corbin and Braun walk in the door, Vince pops a cork, and they get more spotlight than they deserve. Undertaker is a rare exception. His character, his look, his mystique all meshed so perfectly and he was pretty talented. But the list of really good big guys is short when compared to the list of meh big guys. Big meaning tall, super ripped or obese. That's why I compared it to the NFL. Blaine gabbert was a 1st round pick because he was tall and had the measurables. He never did a thing to warrant that pick, in college or after being drafted. Russell wilson was a high level performer from high school, a winner his whole life. But he is short, so 3rd rounder.

Invites will be sent out in April and the party itself is in June. Waiting on Adam Cole (BAY BAY!) to RSVP.

Russell wilson was a high level performer from high school, a winner his whole life. But he is short, so 3rd rounder. This is such a silly thing to debate. Of course the average small guy is more acrobatic than the average 300 pounder. It’s to the point of it no longer being impressive or special. But if pro wrestling were a real fight these little guys would stand no chance. This is the precise reason that they have weight classes in actual combat sports and not in pro wrestling. So if you’re one who doesn’t care about realism, sure. Go ahead and watch 160 pound guys flip around. It should be noted that of the pro wrestlers that have gone on to compete and be successful in mma, none were small. A good match is a good match as far as I’m concerned, but an athlete like Scott Steiner is harder to come by than a Finn Balor. This much I know for sure.
