I don't know what to believe regarding the authenticity of his pending departure, but damned if his new look wouldn't be the likely straw that broke the camel's back on me finally picking up an Ambrose. I'm somewhat picky, even as I've gotten less so, about who and what I grab (unless the price is right), and none of Dean's figures have clicked with me. His latest Elite is close, but man - if I could get a stone faced, cropped hair Ambrose, even if it were before he turned heel, that'd probably be the one to land on my shelf.
If he re-signs, I'll probably grab one, assuming it lands right. If he doesn't, maybe that last one'll hit one of the discount stores. It's not a $20, must buy, though.

I want to agree with that, but I imagine if I had dedicated my life to something as exillirating (and dare I say respectable) as wrestling, instead of becoming the useless nobody I am today, I would want to stick around as long as possible. And if I kept making money for the boss?, he'd want me around too instead of risking his family business with a new batch of wrestlers.
Your absolutley right! In order for Dean to keep staying relevant he needs to refresh his character up. Guys like Undertaker and Jerico are perfect example of what he needs to look at to still be Dean Ambrose but also change himself to something new. I think Ambrose needs to go back in time. He's a guy that would be great to come and go touring territories. His gimmick and work style doesn't lend itself well to hanging around too long.

If he leaves it will be because his contract expired so they can keep working on something they’ve already started. Whereas with Hideo he asked for and was granted his release so they have to stop immediately (R.I.P. NXT elite Hideo 😭)

If he’s leaving I’m leaving towards no. Look how far in distribution Hideo got. We even saw MOC pics and word is that it’s cancelled.

There is a difference between a release/firing and a contract expiring (as far as I know) Not really, Jeff Hardy let his contract expire in 2009 when Mattel was getting ready to launch the first elite series with him in it. Look what happened. They decided to cut him from the series. It doesn’t matter if you get fired/released/expired contract, if you’re no longer with WWE they don’t want any new merchandise of your character in retail, unless there’s old merchandise that they just need to get rid of. There’s no circumstances of how you leave the company that differs how they distribute/create merch. If you’re no longer with the company they won’t produce product of you. Including action figures.

Has there even been a good Ambrose? All the scans have been crappity, every single one.

They cut Jeff because he was a drug addict arrested for a serious amount of drug possession. Pretty sure Mattel decided that one because WWE made a Jeff Hardy DVD in December 2009.

Yeah, but it looks goofy as hell. I'd like one where his face looks normal, his hair and beard doesn't look like mustard.
