Damn, this sucks if true. Hopefully he makes a full recovery, his heel work has been incredible.

I really hope he takes his time coming back and doesn't rush to return. neck/spine injuries are the worst in wrestling. Rest and recover, champ

I really don’t know what they can do for Takeover now.
There really isn’t anyone that seems to be free other than Matt Riddle.

So he's getting Anterior Cervical Fusion, which is basically the same surgery that Stevie Richards had after his neck injury. I wonder if it's affect his voice like it did Stevie.
The worrying part for his career is that he'as already a 'smaller' guy, he's had 1 long term injury and now he's suffered another one right as he's on top. Hopefully Vince doesn't see him as 'fragile' or 'weak' and kills his push on his return.

Give me Gargano vs. Cole
Adam Cole (and Undisputed Era) should be the top heels in NXT.

That's the problem with all these guys spending 15 years on the indies before coming to WWE and their bodies are already broken down.

That's the problem with all these guys spending 15 years on the indies before coming to WWE and their bodies are already broken down. Plus working 'The Indy Style' for all those years, then coming to a 'safer' WWE but working 10x more often. It's a tough cycle.

Thats rough, hope its doesn't hurt his career when he gets back and this is his last real bad injury
For Takeover I hope they just put Cole in his spot and he becomes the next big heel in NXT.

That's the problem with all these guys spending 15 years on the indies before coming to WWE and their bodies are already broken down. Then who should they sign? That's a good question. I think it comes down to the motivation of WWE when signing. If they just want to bring in quick, "big" indy names, then keep signing 35 and 40 year old wrestlers. Or, if they actually scout for young, high-potential wrestlers out there in their early 20's (Velveteen Dream, Authors of Pain, and Pete Dunn, for example), they can develop, foster, and mold future talent for the next 20 years. WWE is only going to get so much mileage out of guys like AJ Styles (41), Bobby Roode (41), Samoa Joe (39), Finn Balor (37), and Shinsuke Nakamura (39), nearly all of whom entered through NXT, which is ironically thought of as the young brand. So, to answer your question, I think the balance needs to be there, but the longer WWE waits to sign up the fan-tested top indy guys at-the-moment, the less both parties will get from it.

This is a major bummer, by far the best heel in the whole damn company right now. I actually do not even think there is anyone close. Such a shame for him and hopefully he can come back sooner than later and be better than ever before.
It throws things on NXT up in the air though. Maybe Gargano going up against the Undisputed Era is the way it is going to go?

If they need to get a new singles star fast, I'd love to see Montez Ford break away from Angelo Dawkins and align with his wife. I think Ford with Bianca could be an entertaining duo.
