Overall some interesting info from the Q&A.
It really sounds like Target and Walmart are calling the shots for Mattel. Though I guess you can't really blame them, when they have few other mass market retail options.
But I completely disagree with Mattel's strategy of lines having an intentional end point after a year. Even though I'm a loose collector, I think there's a lot of value in the brand identify that lines like Classic Superstars or Marvel Legends create through long-running, consistent line branding and packaging. The idea that a line runs for a year and is killed and replaced by something new the next year, regardless of how well it does, just seems idiotic.
But it sounds like there's some hope for more WCW belts and some names from the concussion suit coming back into the fold.

As much as I want an ultimate of HBKs last match...it was one of HBKs lesser style in terms of entrance gear and what not.
Maybe something more elaborate.
Already sounds like bill and co are trying to reduce the cost of ultimates.
I mean all he had was a vest right? Unless he comes with like 4 or 5 heads, I dont see that happening.
With that said I will still bye 5.

Hmmm I guess I was hoping for a little more clarity on what still being released.
1. Is Walgreens still releasing their women Exclusive figures?
2. Why do certain wrestlers who get significant tv time not get more figure releases? Or in some cases no figures at all? IE: Natalya, Naomi, Titus, etc....
3. How can Mattel say they are more concerned with the causal fan than the collector market? Did NXT 4 sell out everywhere because of the causal fan? Perhaps they should focus on both?

Throw in swappable cowboy/wrestling boots and taped/non-taped fists and the WHC. |

They seem to do an Elite Austin at least once a year and there have been more than enough street gear SCSA at this point. Heck, he had 3 Elites at the end of last year alone. |

Nice my HBK Ultimate Editions question got answered! While I was hoping for a mid 90s HBK, it would be cool to get WrestleMania 26 HBK. I agree though that it wasn’t one of his more colorful attires or one they can fill with accessories.

But seriously saying that he knows how important the titles are for us. Yeah sure Bill, sure. That's why we got the male title in the packaging right? Oh and because WCW was the topic, that's also why we got the WWE cruiserweight title with Dean Malenko instead of the correct WCW cruiserweight title, because he knows how important they are to us.

Thanks for posting the Q&A - though they only got like two questions, it does sound like there is at least some future in the Retro line still which is great; especially if they are considering the investment of creating female talent in that form as well.

I like Bill, his passion for his work is immense. but Jesus Mattell needs to hire someone who can talk. watching him stumble through these questions with LONG awkward pauses is just painful.

So target and Wal-Mart asked to have store exclusives sent to them 1 piece at a time? That doesn't sound right to me. I don't mind the store exclusives but they should be 2 per case. The set of 6 plus the 2 collectors editions in each case. Elite 69 having 3 possibly 4 exclusives is a little much.

Judging by Bill's comments regarding keeping tabs on which exclusives are hot sellers and their ability to release them again, I'd bet they've already got plans for another Elite Pete Dunne.
