So this is a really interesting story worth a discussion. So the wwe is pushing the saudis to allow the wwe to let their women wrestle on the shows going forward. Meltzer said because of all the bad press and the fact they have a contract with them this is what the wwe wants to continue going there. Honestly if this happens it’s a huge barrier broken and almost worth the deal. Thoughts? Just honest discussion people may have different views than you remember that.

The Saudi deal is worth it either way.

the Saudi deal is already worth it. They made a ton of money on this deal. They don't care about the negative PR that came last time, because they know they do enough that they always have something to pat themselves on the back for to garner more positive PR. And let's face it, most critics are all bark and no bite; wrestling fans are among the worst offenders. Criticizing them on Twitter and threatening them with 'I'm done' isn't going to cost them a dime, and the number of people who actually quit them for good every time they 'go too far' is negligible. The only reason they REALLY care if the women perform is so that they can air a five minute segment on both Raw and Smackdown, patting themselves on the back for breaking down barriers again. I'm not saying it's wrong either, they should, but this is all about money and PR. Any other positive side affects are happy accidents.

The Saudi deal HAS to happen twice a year... that money goes into having such greats like Lesnar and Batista show up for no reason at all.

I can't see it tbh. They would have to wear robes and all the jazz.

They're making a fortune performing there.

Nobody would give WWE credit regardless. And why should anyone? It's entirely about trying to get the money whilst maintaining a vaguely okay image. They're definitely not going to Saudi Arabia to try and break down social barriers.

They're definitely not going to Saudi Arabia to try and break down social barriers. Exactly. Triple H can give any excuse he wants, they're not helping things in any way by going there and giving into their demands of no women. Refusing to go there and deal with them until they meet their standards would make a bigger impact. If WWE were genuine about wanting to change their ideals by wearing them down with requests to allow women to be involved, I'd admire their ambitions. But I highly doubt a wrestling company is going to change an entire country's ideals. That would be incredibly naive on their part, if it was a genuine excuse to go over there. They had to apologise for merely showing women during a video package, for s sake! They're clearly not going to stop living in the Middle Ages anytime soon. More than that, if WWE ever reached the point of getting them to reluctantly agree to allow women to be involved in any way, I'd be genuinely concerned for their safety.

I do think in some way they wanna change some views over there. Otherwise they would just collect their money and leave the female talent at home. By pushing to allow women to perform for the first time they are trying to change the country for the better from when they started there.

after that Journalist was murdered, hell no. I don't want the women to be in constant fear of their lives.

No dis respect to the hard working women since they started putting like 3 segments on raw I have lost so much interest in cause they are on every 2nd or 3rd segment

Nothing’s going to change in that oppressive chithole with a barbarian in charge. They won’t be seeing “The Man” at their shiny expensive sports stadium in front of a field of rich royals and oligarchs and the stands full of the “commoners”

Itd be incredible if they changed their whole belief system just to allow a handful of women wrestle at a show. It may even bring more much needed change to their country.
However the deal is worth it even without the women. If anything they'll charge WWE for having women on the card lol

A crapton of blood money is still a crapton of money.
Let Evolution II happen and let the Saudi shows continue being the over-glorified house shows that they are.

They're definitely not going to Saudi Arabia to try and break down social barriers. So what? Of course WWE wants the money. Any successful business would. But regardless of why WWE is there, if they can help get a country to change the way they view women, that’d be a massive step forward. Whether anyone here wants to admit it or not.
