Gimmicks
legit tag teams
2 man booth for commentary with a distinct face on play by play and heel on color
Entertaining backstage interviews like when Mean Gene did it
Managers like the old days
Simple stage set ups( like for instance the set used at Rumble 92 with just a logo and a curtain)
Blood(When the feud calls for it)
Storytelling( I miss the days when a feud would have you invested from beginning to end)

Chair shots. Feuds that would carry on for years, keeping fans interested. The Army of Darkness. Kevin Sullivan made this work so well for his feud with Dusty Rhodes. When not every wrestler had theme music or pyro. If they did, it was for a special event. Squash matches with preliminary wrestlers. Midget matches. Yes, I said the word "midget". And only once or twice a year. Hair vs. hair, loser leaves town, 30 day valet matches.

I miss the days when the audience wasn't a collective mark for themselves. And back when they didn't break out into a "THIS IS AWESOME" chant every 35 ing seconds.

Geeze, that's a long list...
-Pyro -Unique stages for PPV's - Halloween Havoc used to be a can't miss show just to see the entrance way -PPV's that didn't run 4+ hours -Unique movesets, where big moves felt big. A suicide dive isn't a big deal if everyone does it and most guys gently barely bump their opponent. -Ending matches multiple ways - rollups, non-finishing moves, etc. Now every match has to have 1 or more finisher. -Talent working their way up a card ala HBK or Bret Hart. I'm more invested in a character when I've watched them build over the years. -Not yo-yo'ing guys between titles. Use the belt to elevate midcard talent, not give a main eventer something to do for a couple months. -Long-term tag teams. They always rush to the breakup angle and then wonder why it falls flat when the team has only been around for a year. -Tag team specialists, rather than two singles workers who they didn't have anything else for. -More tandem offense in tag wrestling -Heels doing actual heel things - bending rules, raking eyes, etc. -Commentary that doesn't feel like an infomercial ("It's Boss Time!") -Titles that feel like they mean something and are the ultimate prize -Blood in rare and appropriate situations. -Reasonable amount of tv. I miss the days when I could watch an hour or two of wrestling a week and know everything that was going on. -Consistency in character alignment and storylines -Holding big matches off until a PPV or big blowoff. -Feuds that run for more than a couple months and have a payoff -No 50/50 booking -Longterm storytelling and rivalries -Use the whole roster, and storylines, even minor ones for lower card workers -Guys not walking out in ring gear at the top of the show, or constantly wearing their latest tshirt any time they're on screen. -Stop with the totally overdone makeup for the women
There's just so much that feels like over-produced, micromanaged corporate BS about the WWE product today. Little to nothing feels organic or even allows for the suspension of belief. If an AEW, ROH, or Impact does even 25% of the things on this list, it is an infinitely more enjoyable product to me.

I miss more wrestlers using more known tunes as entrance music n not some generic beat or some horrible voice over by the wrestler

I miss when WWE used to defend how real it really is.
Now they're like it's all fake and check out all this backstage videos of opponents giving each other hugs after/before the match.
Then they wonder why viewers arent invested anymore like they used to. I feel like being the wrestler that slapped the newscaster, only the newscaster is WWE, "Is that real!" lol

Another small thing about WWE i miss is actual Entrance videos, it's just boring as f*ck now with the wrestler's names just slapped over a generic background. This! Entrance Videos used to be good now they’re $#it!

i miss being able to SEE the in-ring action without a million camera zooms and shakes. and subsequent commercial breaks
this, truly, is the worst detriment to the product in the last 10 years at least.

For sure moving graphic match cards and commentators advertising a few days before the PPV.

For sure moving graphic match cards and commentators advertising a few days before the PPV. That's my first time seeing that particular match card, but it already got me more hyped than this years WrestleMania. Loved the moving graphics back in the RA Era, especially with an epic theme in the background and the commentators actually hyping it up as a huge event.

I miss the product we received before everyone with an iPad and a bottle of jergens was a backstage consultant for the WWE and “knew everything that was going to happen, because it’s so predictable, man”.

Last night on 'Moment Of Bliss' we have a rug, two chairs and a coffee table in the ring-call it a set and call it a day. Look at The Snake Pit-looked like one of the cool old Land Of The Lost cave sets. The Funeral Parlor looked like one of the old cheesy network midnight horror movie sets, The Flower Shop looked like an old sitcom or SNL skit set....Heartbreak Hotel, The Barbershop, Piper's Pit (face Piper version with the castle look) etc. That's one of the things I also really miss. The creativity, imagination and the craft work that went into the old interview sets....The way they pulled you into the little world of each personality hosting. And every Superstar host already had a well defined character or gimmick to build the theme around easier. The most unique thing they've done in a long while was put the Alexa Bliss talk show set on the stage and put the LED background light graphics to good use.

Managers The old non-LED rings 2 man commentary teams Original championship designs (just bring back the WHC in place of the Universal) Gimmick matches being saved for the right storylines and not happening at their own PPVs, like a HIAC match at Survivor Series, MITB at Mania and the Chamber at SummerSlam Authority figures who only insert themselves into the storyline when the time is right (see William Regal on NXT or Jack Tunney) Unique stages Blood Pyro Less lighting, everything looks too clean cut these days More ring rope colours - breaking out the old red/white/blue ones for Mania would be cool some day
and most importantly... COMPELLING LONG TERM STORYTELLING
