Sometimes stores do indeed get full cases of a certain product like NASCAR Diecast or Monster Jam Trucks. When Advance Auto Parts sponsored Grinder, they used to get full cases of the 1:64 Scale Hot Wheels Grinder. I remember Ollie's Bargain Outlet selling Aaron Fike's Ollie's car there when they sponsored him.

When I worked at my local Target when we got NXT Elite Series with Ember Moon in the set we never ever got the Ember Moon we got everyone else but her and my local targets in my area have yet to receive NXT series 4 but I will give my local Walmart credit they are actually current with elites at Series 66 So then this confirms Mattel are indeed shipping one per case at times. Skulduggery is afoot my fellow collectors...prepare the onsalught!!!

Or perhaps confirms the Target got cases with an assortment of the other three figures in the wave, just no Ember.

It does sound like repack. Toys R Us would take figures off the shelf, repack them, and keep them in the back to make room for new product. Happened all the time when I worked there.

But what is the point in that? Dont they want the figures they took of the shelf to be sold? they arent going to sell in the back.

When we had pegs upon pegs of Elite Charlotte's and Alexa Bliss over here it is perhaps understandable. The female figures are still a hard sell in a primarily boys toy line. Maybe doubly understandable with a less well known talent such as Ms Moon.

My guess is it's better that they don't sell rotting in the back than taking up space for something that would sell on the floor.

Its to save space, when say Cena is 3 per case and they have 10 cases, they dont have space for 30 cenas And they wouldnt leave them out the back, they would be replenished as and when the others sell

I use to do the orders from Mattel at the comic shop I once worked at. They use to let us choose how many cases of each figure we wanted. This of course was during DC Universe Classics. I wonder what changed.

5 below was getting cases of 12 of Sid Justice and Ryback from series 63. 12 of each per case. And someone reported finding full cases of Baron Corbin from 63 as well.

This is crazy, didnt know all this goes on with distribution. Its just something the distribution centre might have done, Mattel only pack one character per case for Defining Moments and Entrance GreatsCase breakdowns are pretty much the same for any retailer, ringside would be able to provide insight on case breakdowns This was the case (...no pun intended...) until recently, but around the time of the Wrestlemania Elites and Elite 65/66, for whatever reason, they seem to have started shipping cases full of just one figure. People (including me, lol) have seen them open up sealed boxes... and there are also reports of some Smyths stores having 15+ of one figure in a series (eg. the WM Undertaker) and ZERO of another (eg. Hall or Sasha). And I don't know if it's connected - but we've also seen Mattel ship complete cases of other fairly recent figures: E54 Bray Wyatt, E55 Brock Lesnar, E55 Undertaker, E56 AJ Styles. So, it's definitely happening... for better or for worse.

I don’t know what goes on at Mattel but I know at my company, big customers can force your hand. If we ship out cases of product to customers with a certain product mix and a big customer tells us they want a different mix, you better believe we have the warehouse ship out the mix that customer wants. Retailers have sneaky ways of creating little profit centers through chargebacks to vendors. They’ll order product from you, sell it all and make their profit from the consumers, then turn back to the vendor and not pay for the full invoice and find any reason to say the order wasn’t in compliance with their vendor guidelines.
Sometimes it’s worth it to ensure you’re in compliance, even if that means creating special stickers for packaging, or changing normal product assortments, etc.
You gotta do what you gotta do.

Hasbro has been doing this for years now with their 6" Star Wars Black figures... Starting with (as far as I can remember) their 40th Anniversary line.
I remember being in Target and Wal-Mart and seeing entire cases with either 1 or 2 figures. Many times I saw entire cases of Princess Leia or Death Star Commanders, or cases consisting of a weird mixture of 6 Leias and 6 Death Star Commanders, or 6 of one of the previously mentioned figures aong with 6 Jawas... no Obi-Wans, Hans, or R2-D2s. Then those cases of 6 of one and 6 of another changed to throw Obi-Wan into the mix.Funny, as those four figures were the least desirable and wanmed for months.
You can also order entire sealed cases of individual figures from sites like Entertainment Earth, Dorkside, etc. as well.

No store is ordering by figure. You really think the minimum wage employees are deciding what items will sell better than others? This is most likely due to shortages in previous shipments of said figure. During initial shipments, some of these stores were probably given mispacked cases, which were missing certain figures. That, or distribution centers repack figures for shipment to store. Why does everything turn into some sort of conspiracy where Mattel and all these stores are trying to you out of getting figures?

No store is ordering by figure. You really think the minimum wage employees are deciding what items will sell better than others? Minimum wage employees? No. Head office? Sure. They have records of which figures are selling well and which aren't - and they're also responsible for deciding what figures get discounted (so know what probably won't sell well). Not to mention, Smyths (in the UK) only ever seem to order/stock 5 figures every Elite series these days (instead of 6) - and they seem to be getting cases of all 1 figure, rather than the usual "mixed case". So it wouldn't surprise me at all if they have asked for or started ordering by figure, rather than having the usual mixed cases.
