Fair play to them although I’m not as interested in the match compared to when it was rumoured in November, the build up over the last few months with Becky’s “injury” and all the suspensions/fines etc has really ruined this match for me.

We have to be careful when WWE throws around the “main event” phrase because they love to think more than one match can be the “main event.” Without them saying it will close the show, I can easily see this being the 2nd to last match behind Rollins vs. Lesnar and they still pump it up as a main event.
But even if it does close the show, I think it’s pretty clear to see it is solely because of Ronda’s involvement. I feel the best chance they had to put on a great women’s match in the legit main event of a #WrestleMania PPV was back at 32 to crown the new women’s champion. It was a great match and was one of the best matches of the night. This one, I just don’t see it being a great match. Maybe a good match, but not great, especially if Ronda starts just tossing the others around. Plus, the story has gotten so lame with the way Becky found her way into the match, hobbling around on crutches for months, talks a big game on twitter but says very little on TV. I’m just personally not into this match. I never was, but now I’m really not. And I’m so no looking forward to WWE beating us over the head over the next 2 weeks about how historic this is...

So for the past decade or so we've been on the "last match isnt always the main event" kick and now that the women will be the last match, it's the main event again? Not to devalue it, but I feel like this is 100% for marketing/back-patting so Steph can go around the horn and tout the 'First ever all female Wrestlemania main event!!', pose for photos with that disingenuous, constipated look on her face, and do all of the PR BS and next year it will return to 'you ARE in a main event, you're facing Triple H in a street fight with no title involved!' 100% and no doubt she’ll be on #RAW tonight touting this for sure.

I don’t have a problem with it. It’s definitely been a focal storyline, and when you look at the other top title options it’s perfectly reasonable.
Daniel Bryan is defending against a guy that just randomly popped out of the midcard very recently (not trying to diminish Kofi but he wasn’t really doing anything before this).
Seth vs Brock has star power and would be the other strong candidate. However, Seth has spent more time dealing with other things and they’ve barely built this match up.
Asuka is the other women’s champion, and in all honesty I keep forgetting that. Does she even have a confirmed match yet?
WWE is smart in this situation to take the chance to pay themselves on the back. Of course they’ll do it excessively, but it’s kinda the best of what they’ve got right now.

Great, an excuse to leave the belt on Brock. I mean, good for them, but I can see this backfiring on Rollins. No pressure for the happy ending in the Universal Title match. I hope I'm wrong, but I absolutely see Brock retaining now. Seth chances of winning went down the second roman came back. I see Seth losing at mania Roman wins the belt at the Saudi shown and Rollins turns heel the raw after. You think they'll wait that long? Stop me if you've heard this one before... Large heel with devious manager defeats fan favorite, but not company favorite, face by questionable means. Company favorite, and larger, face comes out to save the day, gets awarded an on the spot title match and wins rather easily. Roman push resumed. Lesnar to UFC confirmed. Rollins to AEW confirmed.

The biggest moment in the history of pro wrestling. They earned this. Bulls**t!
If Ronda Rousey wasn't involved, then no women would be in the main event at Wrestlemania.
Now if this was Becky vs. Charlotte, and it was something the WWE really invested into over the last year?? Sure, that would be great. But the fact the women are only getting this because of the crossover star power that Ronda Rousey has with UFC/MMA and Hollywood, is why this match is getting the main event spot.
Cant disagree there. Id say if Ronda wasnt involved, itd be the co main event at best. Hey Im happy for them, especially for Becky and Charlotte, but yeah Rondas name helped them get the headline match at Manial

I mean...yeah, Ronda's one of the reasons they're main eventing because she's a major box office draw.
Just like Brock when he main events. Or when The Rock shows up and headlines. Or John Cena. Or Steve Austin. Or even Lawrence Taylor.
It also helps that Becky Lynch is red hot and has been one of the most talked about athletes in the world.
It's not rocket science or some epiphany that this is the case, even if people here act like it.

I would have understood announcing this as the main event of Wrestlemania at the start of the storyline. The issue is that WWE has overbooked this entire storyline and really hurt the fan engagement into the storyline. It doesn't seem like there as many fans connected to the storyline at this point in the build-up. I'd argue that the WWE Championship or Universal Championship should close Wrestlemania based off the moments + storylines behind them. Seth Rollins getting back to the main event of Wrestlemania and slaying the beast win the Universal Championship would have been great way to send the fans home happy. Kofi Kingston getting his chance to main event Wrestlemania and winning the WWE Championship from Daniel Bryan would be a Wrestlemania moment. Now.. we'll close Wrestlemania with Becky Lynch winning the women's championship which is fine but it's nowhere close to a Wrestlemania moment anymore. I do enjoy how all of a sudden there is only one main event of Wrestlemania instead of two or sometimes three. Guess you can only have one main event when you're trying to get press clippings and mentions in the media for your female talent "earning" the main event of Wrestlemania.

I think my main issue is that I really don't see Kofi winning, but I saw Rollins winning...until the announcement was finally made. Everyone knows Becky is going home with the title, but I think Vince would keep the belt on Lesnar forever if he could. All signs pointed to Rollins winning, but now with Roman back and a ready made happy ending to Wrestlemania the table is set for suplex city part 59, Lesnar is on the ropes badly only to once again hit a single F5 (or maybe they'll let Seth kick out of one and it'll take 2) and keep the Universal Title a part time attraction. Every step closer that we get to Lesnar being gone forever is a plus in my book. If it's not the main event, I really don't see him losing. Just for the record, yes I think Becky and Ronda deserve it.

dont really care about this at all. think its kind of crapty to be honest, but this company is turning into a womens wrestling promotion by the week so i guess we should all just be happy.

Good for them. It'll be nice to have actual boobs in the main event instead of metaphorical boobs. Seth vs Brock is no main event. Bryan Vs Kofi is not worthy of a pre-show. HHH Vs Bats is just filler. So might as well go with the only good thing the WWE has going for them as the main event.
