Who do you think never got the recognition for their time in the booth? For me...
Rod Trongard- Loved his work in AWA plus his brief run in the WWF during the late 80s.
Superstar Billy Graham- I liked his brief run in 1988. He blended so well with Gorilla at SSlam 88
Mr. Perfect- Excellent run with Vince on Superstars in 91/92/96. Plus the PPVs he called during the New Gen era. All around good stuff.
Rick Rude- His brief run in ECW circa 97 with Joey Styles was great I thought.
Ted DiBiase- Thought he was very good at the Rumble 94.
Scott Hudson- WCW's most underrated announcer IMO. I thought he was excellent in the play by play role. His GWF run in the early 90s was good as well.
Jim Cornette- Another great one. His work with JR in both NWA and WWF was fantastic
Cyrus-Blended well with Styles in ECW. I never thought they needed a color guy but Cyrus like Rude fit like a glove
Bob Caudle- Great with J.R during the late 80s.
Brian Pillman- Was entertaining as hell on Shotgun Saturday Night in 97 with JR.

I really liked Ted DiBiase with Vince at RR94. I wonder if Lawler had not returned would DiBiase been the heel announcer going forward.

CM Punk was pretty good and I would've bet anything he ended up in the commentator's booth before I found out he hated wrestling.
I actually kind of enjoyed Randy Savage as well in 1993. He was super intense as expected, but played well working with Heenan and Vince.

I enjoyed Stan Lane on the mic'.
He was on Superstars in 1994 with Vince McMahon, he also did Coliseum Videos with Ted DiBiase.
Johnny Polo was another one I enjoyed, working with Gorilla Monsoon on the Coliseum Videos.

My Dream Announce Team would be Matt Striker, Joey Styles, and Mauro Ranallo. Would either of these 3 be considered underrated??

mike tenay doesn’t get the credit he deserves. I consider ‘the professor’ one of the best of all time.

One I did enjoy was Lord Alfred Hayes. Loved how he acted as the “heel” commentator but was still a nice guy.

Now we need a list of everyone's least (or most hated announcer(s)).

Johnny Polo was another one I enjoyed, working with Gorilla Monsoon on the Coliseum Videos. He also did Challenge with Gorilla that year. Very underrated on color.

Superstar was a favorite of mine. I enjoyed hearing him on commentary. He may not have been Gorilla, Jesse or Bobby but he knew the product and had a great enthusiasm. It's really a shame when he let not being employed by WWF/WWE get to him because he does have a great heart and soul for their product and performers. While most heel or face commentators were hell bent on only putting over the heel or the face, Superstar spoke well of both singles in the match or both tag teams.
Ted Dibiase was a good one too. I wondered what would've become of him if King hadn't returned when he did. Obviously King was more commentator material but him returning pretty much left Ted doing nothing until I guess they had no choice but to find something for him so they went with the corporation.
I liked Mr. Perfect but it would've been better if they knew if they wanted him to be good or bad. He was so good in the ring that he had to turn eventually (1992) but after that he could be borderline heel or tweener based on his character. Between 1994-1996 him coming and going and coming and going, I'm sure he missed the ring but he had great potential doing anything, just they never seemed to know which way to put him.

Definitely agree with Graham. He brought great energy to the show and you could tell he enjoyed doing it....BROTHA!!!!
DiBiase did work with on Challenge and Coliseum Videos with Gorilla in 94 but yeah I wish he had a longer run in the booth. He always was great on promos so I knew if ever got a spot in the booth he'd be a natural at it.

If I remember correctly it was a match between Vader and Ahmed Johnson leading into KOTR that year as I remember him costing Ahmed the match after hitting em with his cast.
