SmackDown LIVE preview, March 26, 2019: Kurt Angle returns to Team Blue for one last match with AJ Styles
Kurt Angle was once one of Team Blue’s most prominent Superstars. He ruled over SmackDown LIVE as World Heavyweight Champion, squared off with rivals like Brock Lesnar, Rey Mysterio and John Cena and even served as the brand’s General Manager. Before he hangs up his boots for good at WrestleMania, the gold medalist will make one last appearance on SmackDown LIVE. He’s not taking this stop on his farewell tour lightly, either, as he’ll be squaring off with The Face That Runs The Place, AJ Styles. What will happen when these two Superstars clash for the first time ever in WWE? Find out on SmackDown LIVE, tonight at 8/7 C on USA Network!
Fatal 4-Way Match to determine Asuka’s WrestleMania challenger
What is sure to be an intense Fatal 4-Way Match between Carmella, Naomi, Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville will determine who will challenge SmackDown Women’s Champion Asuka at WrestleMania.
The news was broken during Kayla Braxton’s exclusive interview with Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville. Fire & Desire’s friendship has been on rocky ground as of late, as each’s interference in the other’s match against The Empress of Tomorrow backfired. Rose & Deville look to be back on the same page, but will that be the case when a championship opportunity at WrestleMania hangs in the balance?
Who will move on to challenge Asuka at WrestleMania?
Kurt Angle to have his final match on SmackDown LIVE against AJ Styles
Kurt Angle’s farewell tour is about to hit SmackDown LIVE in the biggest way possible. Oh, it’s true.
Angle’s final match ever on the blue brand will take place tonight, when the WWE Hall of Famer takes on AJ Styles. The two Superstars share a rich history, but this will be the first time the two have ever locked up in a WWE ring.
Angle has long been a cornerstone of the SmackDown brand and will undoubtedly create one last classic moment against The Phenomenal One.
What does the future hold for The New Day?
Last week, Kofi Kingston survived the Gauntlet Match, defeating The Bar, Samoa Joe, Rowan and Randy Orton in an awe-inspiring performance and seemingly earning the WWE Championship Match at WrestleMania he desired. However, Mr. McMahon threw another roadblock onto Kingston’s Road to WrestleMania, declaring that The Dreadlocked Dynamo also had to defeat the champion, Daniel Bryan, to get to The Show of Shows. The WWE Champion took advantage of Kingston having competed for close to an hour, putting him down with his Running Knee for the three-count and dashing Kofi’s WrestleMania dreams.
In the aftermath of this shocking turn of events, Kingston’s fellow New Day members, Xavier Woods & Big E, threw out the idea of quitting WWE in response to Mr. McMahon’s actions. Kingston said that shouldn’t be their response, but Twitter videos by Woods & Big E led to even more speculation about The New Day’s future in WWE. Will the trio lend any insight as to what the future holds for them on SmackDown LIVE?
What’s next for Lynch and Flair after an eventful Raw?
Becky Lynch emerged victorious from a fast-paced Beat the Clock Challenge on Raw last night, besting Ronda Rousey’s of 1:25 by rolling up The Riott Squad's Liv Morgan.
Though The Man won the challenge, The Road to WrestleMania for she, Rousey and Charlotte Flair got turned on its head quickly, as it was announced that all three women must join forces to take on Ruby Riott, Sarah Logan & Morgan in a Six-Woman Tag Team Match next Monday. While the enmity between all three Superstars is intense, they must find a way to put it aside, as if any of the three betray each other, they’ll forfeit their WrestleMania opportunity.
How will The Man & The Queen react to this news? Find out on SmackDown LIVE, tonight at 8/7 C on USA Network!

im genuinely invested in this Kofi storyline, but the more i think about it, the more i think he isnt going to win at Mania....they arent going to change ALL the major titles on one show, and they clearly want to push this greatest revolutionary storyline and main event in history angle thats closing the show, so nothing will overshadow that.
i think they are putting the belt on Rollins but thats more of a "thank god" than a "man what a moment!" especially since seth's been champ, and people are sick of lesnar, etc.
so i bet Kofi gets his match somehow, but he'll end up losing...maybe a screwjob to keep it going a bit more and they will build to his big title win down the line

Seth already won the belt at a WM main event. and Brock is getting a UFC heavyweight title match. i believe he will be WWE champ when that UFC fight happens

i get it for the storyline, but Kofi's had a pretty damn good career all things considered. take away the lack of major world title run he's held a ton of championships, been a legit star for the company and maintained a level of popularity for a LONG time. he's never been a jobber, never really been at the bottom of the order and i honestly think he'll be in the hall of fame regardless.
that being said, im all about them milking the crapout of the idea he's been underused because its making the audience care more about the guy than they ever have and its great storytelling

Storyline wise, why would Vince care if these 3 walked away?
Should’ve had Xavier and Big E mention that they’ll pack there bags and head down to Jacksonville.
