To me: How did he not become WWE Champion again?

Bad timing.
I don't even know if Vince ever thought Ramon could carry the belt to be honest. Vince seemed content with keeping Ramon in the IC Title picture.
Makes you wonder if Vince said to Razor, "don't go to WCW, I will give you a run with the WWF Title" would Razor have given up all that money to stay with the company??

I think it may have been more about his demons than anything else. It's one thing to be IC champ or Tag Champ but at that time the World Champ was the face of the company and needed to be ready to go at any moment (for non wwf events, parades, radio interview, tv interviews, etc.) With that being said, I wouldn't have mind if Razor won the title once, I was a big fan of his in WWF and WCW - he's a very talented guy. I think this may have been one of the reasons Jake never won a title in the WWF.

One of my absolute favorites, personal top fiver for sure. I've always thought he was one of those penultimate guys that just defined wrestling - outstanding look, great character work, colorful, imaginative, great on the mic, great in the ring, and just a total thrill to watch. One of those talents you can just suspend disbelief, sit back, and enjoy.

Makes you wonder if Vince said to Razor, "don't go to WCW, I will give you a run with the WWF Title" would Razor have given up all that money to stay with the company?? I think Razor was running the course by early 1996 and that really wasn't his fault. It was just the times in WWF. I can see a heel turn in mid 1996 with Diesel, if he had stayed but it would have been just like n w o being a cool bad guy. I don't think the fans would have let him fully turn. As for a belt proposition, I don't think it would work. Either he and/or Nash commented that they needed the money more than the titles while mentioning Bret Hart, during the 1996 Hall/Nash making the move time period, and how Bret was content being a low paid champion as long as he had the title. Another great thing about Razor is how into the character he was. He did a lot of personal appearances in his street clothes Razor outfit (vest and colorful slacks) playing the character. Most wrestlers doing appearances wore regular t-shirts and slacks or jeans. His twitter page has a lot of fans posting their pictures of him from 20-25 years ago. And for all the people who talk crap about his personal problems, he made a lot of kids happy during his Razor years especially in being that character.

Great worker and character. I wish he had a longer run as a heel but his face run was still enjoyable.
I also gotta mention the punches he would throw. Man he would make em look stiff as hell!

I was never a fan of the Razor character. I always preferred him as Scott Hall.

He also doesn't get enough credit for the n w o, same for Kevin Nash. I get adding Hulk Hogan made n w o and he coined the name but without Hall and Nash, a July 1996 Hogan heel turn is him doing a year later what he kind of laid ground work for in late 1995 with the all black and no mustache look he did while burning a dirt sheet which really didn't seem to get over then.

I've always wondered why Scott Hall didn't have a run with the WCW World title, especially around '99. Of course we all know about his personal side, which most likely hindered him more than anything. I mean, his belligerence aside, you'd think that would've been one of his contract stipulations when he jumped to WCW.
As far as his Razor Ramon character, I never really saw him as the face of the WWF....

LOVED him as razor. hated him as scott hall!

I enjoyed Razor but I never saw him as "that guy". Every time I saw Razor Ramon I saw the Diamond Studd. I just couldnt see him as anything more then a mid card/upper mid carder.

The character had a deceptively low ceiling to me. He was the perfect guy to build a midcard around. I could see him in his WCW character being world champion in WWF in 97 maybe, but not Razor.

Loved Razor Ramon. The character, look, the work the whole lot....it was brilliant IMO.
He was one of my favourites and still is to look back on.

Very good worker but better gimmick. Razor was awesome in his role and I don't think he ever needed the world title. He was the best as the IC champ and the titles he held in WCW. I worked a show with Hall once and he became a member of my wrestling group. He's even done interviews wearing my shirt, and of course, I can't find one to show!! LOL And yes, during the show he was clean and sober and funny as hell but he REALLY wanted to eat sushi afterwards and dammit it's difficult to find a good place near Hammond Indiana midnight on a Saturday night. But we did find one in Chicago and he paid. So yeah, I'll always have a soft spot for Razor/Scott Hall in my heart.

I heard a similar story from one of their workers about Kevin Nash paying for the gas of the guy driving him from the show to the airport. There's all sorts of good stories about both Kevin and Scott over the years, especially Kevin.

94-96, I freaking loved Razor Ramon. For me as worthy as he was to be WWE Champion there is not point during this run where for me it makes sense over who was the champion. I think he was way more suited to being an IC title guy.
I loved him during my teenage years, but the more I read about him as an adult the more he seems like he was a real piece of crap as a human being which sucks to read about. I have read that he has gotten clean and is in a good place now so that is great for him that he was able to turn his life around.

I think the character was too over the top to be top tier. Bret, Shawn, Diesel, Sid were just or seemed like extensions of themselves. Razor though, the put-on accent and gimmick may have been too much. Then again Yokozuna was getting title reigns and Undertaker is Undertaker. So an over the top gimmick isn't necessarily a killer.

I did not but I know Hurricane Mayples and he's a really good guy, only paid me $5.00 and an Orange pop once in the EWF, but still a nice guy! LOL Hall worked a different indy fed I was a part of at the time.

I have read that he has gotten clean and is in a good place now so that is great for him that he was able to turn his life around. I'm sorry you feel that way, especially since you were a fan when you were younger. I think you should watch his WWE DVD they put out even if you borrow it from someone and forward it to the part with the Jerry Spring kid's segment. That segment alone should make even the most anti-Scott Hall fan or wrestler rethink disliking him. I met him in 1995 at a Kodak photography photo shoot during Survivor Series weekend. He had a long line but still took the time to chat and gimmick it up with fans. It's one of the only photos I took with wrestlers from years ago that I wound up not losing, it was that important. 20 years later, 2015, I was able to spend a few minutes with him, sitting next to him at an autograph show with Nikolai Volkoff and I even got to talk to his mother. Scott took a photo on his phone camera of the picture of the two of us in 1995 and he gave the copy of it to his mother for safe keeping. The drugs really did mess him up for many years but even during his troubled days he still made time for the fans, as you can see by the amount of people who post old school pictures to his twitter page.

Razor Ramon is on my childhood Mount Rushmore. Cooler than the other side of the pillow.
He was one of the most over guys in the WWF for most of his tenure. Also, in my opinion, he is one of the greatest Intercontinental champions of all-time. Such an integral part of the New Generation.
