Hi,
Just got started in to making customs more but ive come to the challenge of having to sculpt but i'm unsure of which brand to get/
Any suggestions on what people use would be appreciated.

Milliput two part putty is a popular material, though I still like to use JB Weld Plastic Weld putty stick myself.

I've only used Apoxie Sculpt, it works, it's an okay price (around $25 shipped), and there's no reason to use anything else.
Fix It Sculpt has a longer working time (and maybe it's cheaper?), so that could be an option if you're just starting to sculpt. It's also firmer and stronger, according to Aves, which may or may not be properties you want.
Some people use ProCreate for long hair because you can mix it in a ratio that leaves it a little flexible. However, I can't give more information since I never get clear answers when I ask customizers more about it. |

apoxiesculpt works great, i have heard that about ProCreate as well, i might havto try it, had issues with the ends of long hair snapping off, pain in the ass to keep fixing and repainting the repairs

I've been using apoxie for hair and beards, which works great... but am wondering... what do you hardcore customizers use for re-sculpting facial features or body parts?

Generally it works quite easily. A little sticky on your fingers once you get it mixed up, but good and sturdy once hardened. I usually use it to rough in the shape I want, and then use a mini-rotary tool to hone down the fine details. It will hold details you add when working with it, and feels like plastic when cured. |

No such thing as a hardcore customizer, use whatever youre comfortable with and can afford. The best thing you could do is sculpt a hard copy of hair, make a mold of it, and cast it with something like Alumilite's Flex 30, but that's expensive and time consuming. ProCreate would be a cheaper alternative, assuming it stays flexible enough. |

I've used Amazing Sculpt, Apoxie and Milliput. I like both Amazing sculpt and Apoxie. They're practically the same. Milliput however... I hate how messy it gets, it also feels very tacky. I bought the white version and when you sculpt, it leaves a residue over whatever other areas you worked on. I've seen people use this green putty, not sure how that one works. Another to note is that I'm allergic to these putties which is also annoying when it comes to breathing it and itchiness.

I just found some ProCreate in my bin, forgot I bought it lmao
Did a quick crappy hair sculpt to test this stuff
Mix it roughly 40/60 per the instructions:
Made long strands and short strands to see how flexible each is:
It's...really flexible, almost like hard rubber.
I could bend the long strand into a circle and it would just go back to the original shape, I'm impressed. The only way I could break the long strand is to bend it almost back on itself like a piece of paper, and even then, at first all it caused was a stress mark, then eventually it began to split and finally break. The short strands had less flexibility, but could definitely still flex.
This stuff is harder is noticeably harder to mix and sculpt than Apoxie Sculpt, but it's nothing you can't get used to.
