MAN, id GIVE ANYTHING to have a time machine and go back do all this wrestling over again. i wasnt really sure if hulk or andre was gonna win. thought jake, jyd & bulldogs would win and all lost. loved beefcake turning good. alice cooper and just the whole build up of this card was AWESOME! |

3) What did you like most about this event?:The 1st Mania in a dome and man it looked GREAT. Dragon/Savage- a match I can watch everyday of the week
4) What did hate most about this event?:Nothing really.My only wish I was in the Silverdome myself to see it live haha
5) What could/would have made this event better to/for you?:This was the perfect Mania to me so nothing.
a) best match:Savage/Dragon but man I gotta give a nod to Andre/Hogan for build alone.
b) worst match:I'll go with the midget match but Bundy slamming Beaver was entertaining

**Final Thoughts**: The best Mania ever in my book. In my eyes no other Mania comes close to it.

2) What were you looking forward to or most excited to see at this event?: I didn't see this event until probably the year 2000 believe it or not. I have seen some matches on coliseum video, but never the entire show. My local video store never had it to rent when I was a kid. So I was just excited to finally see this show!
3) What did you like most about this event?: the atmosphere, how every fan was excited from the beginning to the end
4) What did hate most about this event?: If I had to pick something, it would be the Tag Titles not being defended
5) What could/would have made this event better to/for you?: A Tag Title match
a) best match: Ricky Steamboat vs. Randy Savage for the IC Title
b) worst match: It's hard to say, I guess Reed vs. Ware...??
c) fav match: Hogan vs. Andre
**Final Thoughts**: This WAS the show. It's crazy to think Vince had such a huge WrestleMania show as the third one. It could only go down after that, which it did. But it had it's highs and lows along the way after WrestleMania III. But this is a show definitely worth watching. Everything was just magic that night for that event.

PPV/Supercard Talk #10: Wrestlemania 3
1) What do you rate this event? (1-5, 5 being the best): 100
2) What were you looking forward to or most excited to see at this event?: The whole event from each match to the backstage interviews to the set up with scissors lift which was very unique to the time and only done one more time.
3) What did you like most about this event?: Every match was a winner and every wrestler on the card was a star. Also having a smaller amount of celebrities than WM 2 (they had to make up numbers for each event) and those celebrities seemed to "get it" helped.
4) What did hate most about this event?: Really nothing but not having King Kong Bundy in a better feud.
5) What could/would have made this event better to/for you?: More wrestlers on the card so they could experience how awesome an event it was. You don't want to overcrowd the show because it was packed as is but there are a lot of guys missing: Paul Orndorff (I don't believe the "Andre can't go" rumors), Bruno, Outback Jack, Ron Bass, Islanders, Kamala and Sika, Demolition, Blackjack Mulligan, Corp. Kirchner and I believe Powers and Roma were phasing from jobbers to an actual team but I could be wrong. Not much you can do with that many more guys and not water down the card and not enough for a battle royal so they are left off the card.
a) best match: Steamboat v. Savage
b) worst match: None except maybe the double count out with Haynes and Hercules
c) fav match: Any or all of them. You can't not say Steamboat. Savage but every guy brought an A+ game that night. I have a soft spot for Hart Foundation when it was the team with Danny Davis. Davis played his role perfectly and even though you can't add much to the Hart Foundation, this was the early days of establishing them and Danny helped a great deal. Also, he the got pin which is something he didn't see too often.
**Final Thoughts**: THE greatest night in the history of our sport. No Nitro, No Raw, No PPV could ever top this. Just perfect from start to finish. The only original Coliseum Video I still have it's so important. I think every guy going down on the lift or walking down knew this is the biggest event of their life. This was before WrestleMania HAD to become an entertainment spectacle and automatically gets 70,000-80,000 fans just based on it being wrestlemania.
Another thing I greatly enjoyed was the Coliseum extra beginning with Mean Gene and Gorilla Monsoon and Lord Alfred Hayes. It's probably five minutes but it's a short documentation of the show prior to the event start. Mean Gene says "it's the calm before the storm" and it sure is calm right before you will be on the edge of your seat from start to finish.

yeah, LOVED hart foundation and davis vs bulldogs angle alot. all th matches like u said. they coulda found a few more than your list and had that battle royal tho. that would have been the icing on the cake for me.

My wife is in London helping our daughter who has to switch her dorm room by the end of today because the college doesn’t own the building and her wing got rented to another college or something so seeing she was one of the only ones left in her wing (she was housed in a wing that was 90% of exchanging students) she had to move to a different room. Anyway what I am getting at is with all this reminiscing about this PPV I think I will watch it today or tomorrow.

Basically he’s said in interviews that Hogan and Andre was the best match, because they were the ones who sold out the arena so that was the best match. Or something along those lines. Huh, that's weird. I get that Hogan vs Andre sold the show, but I think its clear that from a technical standpoint and an enjoyable standpoint that the Savage vs Steamboat match was clearly the better match. And I'm not knocking the Andre/Hogan match, I liked it, even more now knowing what Andre had to go through to get to the match. |

**Final Thoughts**: My favorite Wrestlemania ever, Hogan slamming Andre is the greatest WM moment of all time, Savage and Steamboat was great (although I liked Hogan/Andre more), overall just a great Mania.

Not much I can add that hasn't been said, mania 3 is as epic as it gets.
Completely iconic event that will be remembered as one of if not the greatest ever.
I have the tagged classic DVD versions and the "championship edition" with the extras - I think this version was released in the US too so hope you all know what it is. Also been buying wwf magazines from this era recently on eBay. Classic event, time for another watch I think !!
