"The New Era" begins as WWE Raw kicks things off With a brand new look, WWE Raw kicked off this "new era" and wasted no time getting down to business as the commentary team revealed tonight's show would feature the beginning of an 8-man tournament to determine the first WWE World Champion. Eight of WWE Raw's top superstars will collide tonight, with the semi-finals taking place next week, and the finals the week after. And getting things started in the first match of the evening, The All-Mighty, Bobby Lashley would go toe-to-toe with the 16-time World Champion, John Cena! John Cena def. Bobby Lashley to advance in the WWE World Championship Tournament When two titans collide, it's anybody's guess who's going to come out on top. And as two of the most powerful competitors in the industry today, this was one of those moments. However, it was the former 16-time World Champion that left with yet another victory after Bobby Lashley missed his signature Spear, and Cena capitalised with a thunderous Attitude Adjustment to put The All-Mighty away and secure his place in the semi-finals of this tournament. Who will join Cena next week as the superstars of Raw step closer to claiming the grandest prize of them all? The Revival def. The New Day The tag team division is at its best, and these two teams are at the top of their game. Tonight was about proving their worth and hopefully looking to earn themselves a chance to be WWE Tag Team Champions. Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson were able to topple the combination of Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods as Big E looked on from ringside. The pair isolated Kingston and dropped him with the Shatter Machine to claim the win and give themselves a good chance of becoming the first WWE Tag Team Champions of the "new era". Daniel Bryan def. Kane to advance in the WWE World Championship Tournament Former tag team partners, former Tag Team Champions as that. Team Hell No imploded on Raw with a spot in the semi-finals of the WWE World Championship Tournament at stake. The former allies went head-to-head and The Big Red Monster came close to putting his old running buddy away with a Chokeslam, but "The New" Daniel Bryan was able to slip out and retaliate with a running knee to lay out The Devil's Favourite Demon and earn his place in next week's round. Daniel Bryan joins John Cena in the semi-finals, and only two more spots remain. Stone Cold Steve Austin addresses his role as General Manager of WWE Raw The arena exploded when Stone Cold Steve Austin made his return and revealed himself to be the General Manager calling the shots on WWE Raw. The Hall of Famer addressed the crowd and the millions watching around the world, promising that his brand will open a can of whoop-ass on WCW and ECW and be the best damn show on TV. Vowing to give the people what they want to see, and even discussing the possibility of a Stone Cold Stunner or two down the line, Austin asks if the fans are ready to see some more ass-kicking action. The answer? A resounding "Hell yeah!". Sasha Banks def. Alexa Bliss With the women's division as competitive as it is, each female superstar has the utmost desire to showcase their ability. Tonight on Raw, Sasha Banks and Alexa Bliss clashed with their good friends, Bayley and Mickie James in their respective corners and battled it out for the upper hand. Despite Bliss' best efforts to cheat her way to victory, Bayley kept Mickie James at bay and The Boss was able to apply the Banks Statement and force Little Miss Bliss into submission. Sasha and Bayley celebrated their victory as Mickie and Alexa fled looking furious. The Miz def. Randy Orton to advance in the WWE World Championship Tournament John Cena and Daniel Bryan have already claimed their place in next week's semi-finals, but the two remaining spots were still up for grabs. The Viper, Randy Orton looked to earn himself that spot, but The Miz was the one who found a way to claim victory and edge on step closer to once again become World Champion. Just as Orton went for his patented RKO, The A-Lister reversed it into his own signature move - the Skull-Crushing Finale, and that was that. The Miz and his wife, Maryse fled ringside with smug grins on their faces as The Viper looked on in disappointment. With just one position in the semi-finals remaining, who will claim the opportunity? The Usos def. The Authors of Pain After seeing the tag team action earlier between The Revival and The New Day, these two teams had a lot to live up to. But of course, they didn't disappoint, putting on yet another tag team showcase. The Authors of Pain used their distinct power advantage to keep The Usos grounded for the most part, but when the tables finally turned, Jimmy and Jey were able to hit an Uso Splash on one of the AOP, with the other being knocked off the ring apron, allowing the Samoan twins to pick up the victory. With a win, The Usos have surely put their name in the hat for a future WWE Tag Team Championship opportunity, but no doubt The Revival will also be gunning for that spot as well. Braun Strowman def. Roman Reigns to advance in the WWE World Championship Tournament Only one spot remained as these two powerhouses went head-to-head, but which of them would join the others for the opportunity to become WWE World Champion? The Big Dog was as determined as ever to come out on top and reclaim his spot as king of the hill, but standing in his way was the behemoth that is Braun Strowman. After a back-and-forth battle that was akin to a Godzilla and King Kong collision, Roman Reigns found himself caught in the clutches of The Monster Among Men and driven into the canvas not once, but twice with a pair of running powerslams. Strowman secured the victory and thus filled the final position in the semi-finals of the WWE World Championship Tournament. Joining John Cena, Daniel Bryan and The Miz, he will have the chance to claim the WWE World Championship in two weeks. Which of these men will go on to the finals and clash for the coveted prize?

WCW Nitro returns to bring explosive competition to "The New Era" It's time for WCW Nitro to return to our screens and deliver the explosive action it was known for. Following WWE's Raw earlier in the week, Nitro looks to build on the momentum and hopefully outshine Stone Cold's brand in the long run. Looking to outdo Raw's World Championship tournament, WCW management decided to reveal its own setup, announcing six individuals to compete in three matches with the winners competing in a Triple Threat bout next week to crown the first WCW World Champion. Who will the six superstars be? Well two of them compete now - Rey Mysterio and Chris Jericho! Rey Mysterio def. Chris Jericho to advance to next week's main event In the first of three matches tonight to determine who will go on to next week's main event to compete for the WCW World Championship, The Master of the 619 went head-to-head with an old rival, Chris Jericho and it was a slobber knocker to say the least. Y2J didn't shy away from bending the rules to try and defeat his masked adversary, but after being tripped up into the 619 and then crushed beneath a Frog Splash, it was Rey Mysterio that walked away as the victor and advanced onto next week's spectacular bout. Can Rey Mysterio go the whole way and become the first WCW World Champion? And more importantly, who will join him? Mustafa Ali, Cedric Alexander, Akira Tozawa & Kalisto def. Tony Nese, Hideo Itami, Noam Dar & TJP As part of the "new era", WCW Nitro was granted exclusive rights to the Cruiserweight division, and this 8-Man Tag Team bout showcased the division in the most incredible way. Eight of the greatest cruiserweights in the world went to war and it was the ever-impressive Mustafa Ali that delivered his awe-inspiring 054 Splash to Tony Nese that secured the victory. The fan favourites stood tall in victory, but they all knew that when it came down to it, there could only be one WCW Cruiserweight Champion. The Nature Boy styles and profiles his way to WCW Nitro as the General Manager Who better to take the reigns of WCW Nitro than the Hall of Famer and 16-time World Champion, Ric Flair? The Nature Boy returned to the brand he called home for many years of his career, now as the leader of the locker room. Flair responded to Stone Cold's words from Raw that he would "open a can of whoop-ass" on them, and the 16-time World Champion pretty much told him to bring it on. "To be the man, you've got to beat the man" stated Flair, and then paraphrased by saying that if WWE Raw or ECW wanted to be the number one brand, then they would have to beat the number one brand - WCW Nitro! Woooooooo! AJ Styles def. Shinsuke Nakamura to advance to next week's main event Next week's Triple Threat main event has the entire locker room talking, and now that Rey Mysterio has become the first to enter the bout, the question was who would be competing against him? AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura reignited their old rivalry to battle for the opportunity and despite The King of Strong Style trying to repeat history and end Styles' dream with a low blow, he was unsuccessful as The Phenomenal One avoided it and eventually found an opening to deliver his signature Styles Clash. Could Styles once again claim the title of "The Champ That Runs the Camp" next week? It all depends on who else joins him and Mysterio in the epic encounter. The final spot will be filled in tonight's main event! Charlotte Flair def. Billie Kay Her father may be the General Manager of WCW Nitro, but Charlotte Flair needs no help showcasing her ability. The Queen overcame the numbers game of Billie Kay with Peyton Royce at ringside and was able to force the Australian into submission, sending the IIconic to the back with a loss. Looking to follow in her father's footsteps, Charlotte is on her way to capturing another Women's Championship, and the women's division should definitely take note. If history tells us anything, it's that a Flair will always find success inside a WCW ring. Undisputed ERA def. Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson Arguably the most dominant faction in recent history, The Undisputed ERA have come to WCW Nitro. Tonight, the team of Kyle O'Reilly and Roderick Strong represented the yellow and black, taking on The Good Brothers in tag team action. Despite Gallows and Anderson's best effort, they could not overcome the onslaught of their adversaries and O'Reilly was able to apply the Guillotine Choke to force Anderson into submission. The Undisputed ERA are a shoe-in for WCW Tag Team Champions, and any team would have a problem on their hands if they should come up against them. They intend to "Shock the system", and they look like they're about to do just that. The Velveteen Dream refuses to compete on WCW Nitro The WCW fans were already excited thanks to the explosive action from tonight's show, but when it was revealed that The Velveteen Dream would be competing, it added to the buzz. However, it seems that The Dream had other ideas, making his awe-inspiring entrance only to disappoint everyone and refuse to compete, claiming to be "too good for WCW". This didn't sit well with the crowd, but he cared little for their opinions and made his way back up the aisle without a care in the world. The Velveteen Dream's ego takes center stage, and he certainly couldn't care less. Seth Rollins def. Samoa Joe to advance to next week's main event Rey Mysterio and AJ Styles have already secured their spots, but it was time for the final place to be filled and it was either going to be Seth Rollins or Samoa Joe. Yet another pair of old rivals collided with the opportunity at stake, and The Destroyer was not taking any prisoners, going in for the kill at every opportunity and looking to put an end to Rollins quickly. However, when Rollins not only kicked out of a Muscle Buster, but escaped from the Coquina Clutch as well, Joe's aggression proved to be his downfall as he left himself open to a Stomp. Once The Architect had delivered the devastating move, it was just a matter of the three count and he found himself in next week's main event. With the stage set, who will leave WCW Nitro as the WCW World Champion next week? Will it be Rey Mysterio, AJ Styles or Seth Rollins?

"The New Era" is taken to the extreme as ECW returns Forget flashy entrances. Forget HD production value. This is extreme, and it's all about the blood, sweat and tears! ECW returns to TV, taking the "new era" to a whole new world known as The Land of Extreme. ECW will showcase its unique brand of entertainment to the hardcore faithful and go head-to-head with the two giants, WWE Raw and WCW Nitro. While the aforementioned brands had the advantage of going up first, ECW didn't back down and instead took the fight to the competition. Four men will compete in the main event to determine the first ECW World Champion - in a Ladder Match! Prepare to be taken to the extreme! Aleister Black def. Eric Young Getting right into the action, Aleister Black had to take on Eric Young with the rest of SAnitY at ringside. Alexander Wolfe and Killian Dain tried their best to make sure their leader walked away with the victory, but it would take more than being outnumbered to stop The Dutch Destroyer and he was able to lay Young out with the Black Mass to pick up the win, solidifying his place in ECW. SAnitY reluctantly retreated but not without giving Black a warning that they wouldn't forget about this. Black needs to watch his back from here on out. Rhyno def. Drew Gulak There's nothing like a good old ECW original, and Rhyno is exactly that. The Man Beast returned home to The Land of Extreme and came face-to-face with Drew Gulak who was adamant that he would not be competing on such a barbaric brand. But unfortunately for him, he didn't get chance to leave as he found himself at the mercy of Rhyno. After a vicious beating, Rhyno drove Gulak through a table in the corner with a thunderous Gore for the victory. The Man Beast is back where he belongs, and he's looking better than ever. The Bludgeon Brothers def. The Ascension It's one thing to be extreme, but it;s another to be as dominant as The Bludgeon Brothers. Harper and Rowan arrived in The Land of Extreme and took on The Ascension in tag team action, but Konnor and Viktor couldn't knock off the dominant pairing, despite their successful history. After disposing of Viktor, the monsters were able to isolate Konnor and plant him with The Reckoning to secure the victory. These barbarians stood tall in victory and looked around the arena, surveying the carnage. Is there any team on ECW that could stop these two monstrous competitors? The Father of ECW returns home to be General Manager of the extreme It wouldn't be ECW without the mastermind behind it all, Paul Heyman. The Father of ECW returned to his own brand to regain control under the "new era" and the fans were happy to see him. Heyman declared that the heart of ECW was still very much beating thanks to the hardcore fans and he thanked them for their support. Discussing tonight's main event, Heyman revealed that it would feature Dean Ambrose, Kevin Owens, Jeff Hardy and Finn Bálor with the winner becoming the first ECW World Champion. "This isn't WWE Raw, it isn't WCW Nitro, this is E-C- ing-W!" he declares to the delight of the crowd. The Land of Extreme is most definitely open for business. Johnny Gargano def. Pete Dunne ECW has always been about showcasing brand new talent and bringing it to the mainstream eye, and this is exactly what this match was about. While they have already made names for themselves, they fit the bill in ECW as underappreciated talents, and both Johnny Gargano and Pete Dunne tore the house down in this one. The Bruiserweight left Gargano in a heap on multiple occasions with his aggression and physical offence, but a small opening allowed Johnny Wrestling to strike with a superkick and put an end to Dunne's night, picking up the win. With the ECW crowd behind him, Gargano celebrated and looked to the future, and would surely be watching closely at tonight's ECW World Championship bout. Rusev def. Kassius Ohno It seems as though Rusev Day is back on, as Aiden English and Lana joined Rusev at ringside for his match with Kassius Ohno. It was their presence that arguably allowed Rusev to score the win over The Knockout Artist, despite his determination to defeat The Bulgarian Brute. When Lana jumped onto the ring apron, Rusev saw the opportunity and struck with his Machka Kick, followed by the devastating Accolade which gave Ohno no choice but to submit. After the match, Rusev took to the microphone to declare his presence in ECW and announced that every day from here on out would be Rusev Day. Kevin Owens def. Finn Bálor, Dean Ambrose & Jeff Hardy in a Fatal 4-Way Ladder Match to become the new ECW World Champion This highly anticipated matchup tore the house down and was exactly what ECW stands fore - extreme. These four worthy contenders collided in a brutal Ladder Match with all four getting their fingertips on the title belt at some point in the match. But after Jeff Hardy and Dean Ambrose had crashed and burned from the top through a pair of tables, it was left down to Kevin Owens and Finn Bálor. The pair traded blows atop the ladder but KO apparently had an ace up his sleeve, and that ace was none other than Sami Zayn! His best friend made his presence felt on ECW, coming to the ring and throwing The Extraordinary Man from the ladder, allowing Owens to climb up and retrieve the ECW World Championship. With the help of his good buddy, The Prizefighter claimed his prize and stood atop the ladder as the top dog of ECW. It may have been a controversial victory, but regardless, Kevin Owens is your first ECW World Champion. Like it or not.

Daniel Bryan def. The Miz to advance to the finals of the WWE World Championship Tournament With such a storied history, this was guaranteed to be an incredible semi-final bout. Both men overcame the odds last week to advance to this point in the tournament, but even The A-Lister couldn't outsmart Daniel Bryan and suffered a painful Yes Lock, forcing him to submit as Maryse looked on in horror. "The New" Daniel Bryan stood tall over his fallen foe and looked towards the hard camera, giving a warning to the winner of John Cena and Braun Strowman later tonight, promising that nothing will stop him from recapturing the WWE World Championship. Becky Lynch def. Ember Moon Sasha Banks picked up a victory last week over Alexa Bliss and looked strong at the forefront of the Raw women's division. Tonight, Becky Lynch looked to step into the spotlight and she did just that, forcing Ember Moon to submit to the Dis-Arm-Her and claimed a victory. After the match, "The Man" grabbed a microphone and issued a challenge to Sasha Banks, claiming that it should have been her getting the spotlight on the premiere episode last week. Will The Boss accept the challenge and take Becky on in the future? The Texas Rattlesnake makes blockbuster Six-Pack Challenge for the Intercontinental Championship - NEXT! When Stone Cold Steve Austin appeared on the titantron, the arena erupted. Even more so when they discovered what exactly he wanted to say. The General Manager of WWE Raw explained that he had seen WCW Nitro and ECW TV, claiming to be impressed. But he explained that Raw won't be outdone by them, and reveals that there will be a Six-Pack Challenge for the WWE Intercontinental Championship - and it's coming up next! Oh hell yeah! Bobby Roode def. Tyler Bate, Apollo Crews, Shelton Benjamin, "Woken" Matt Hardy & Big E in a Six-Pack Challenge to become the WWE Intercontinental Champion Just moments after the huge announcement by Stone Cold, the six competitors made their way to the ring and chaos ensued. Bodies were flying everywhere, and even the rest of The New Day ended up getting involved alongside their partner, Big E who was a competitor in the match. "Woken" Matt Hardy looked to delete the competition, but was taken out by Shelton Benjamin with a Paydirt. Apollo Crews looked impressive as he took out several superstars, but was sent crashing to the arena floor by Big E. This left Bobby Roode and Tyler Bate battling it out for the prestigious gold, and the young Brit looked like a true superstar, coming within inches of the Intercontinental Championship with the entire crowd behind him. But in a despicable act, The Glorious One delivered a low blow to Bate, showing his desperation, and planting him with the Glorious DDT to secure the victory. The crowd made their disappointment heard but Roode was only concerned with one thing, and that's winning the Intercontinental Championship. But his method was far from "glorious". The Revival def. American Alpha The Revival were victorious last week over The New Day, stamping their mark on WWE Raw's tag team division. Tonight, Chad Gable and Jason Jordan reunited to reform American Alpha to try and take out Dash and Dawson and cut their momentum short. However, it wasn't to be as Jason Jordan turned his back on his former partner, making this reunion short-lived, leaving Gable to suffer a Shatter Machine and The Revival claimed another victory. After the match, The Usos appeared on the titantron and issued a challenge to The Revival for next week, claiming that they had already been to Stone Cold and got it authorised. And as if that wasn't big enough, it'll be for the WWE Tag Team Championships! Next week will be huge. Roman Reigns def. Bobby Lashley Both of these men came up short in their matches as part of the WWE World Championship Tournament, but this didn't stop them still wanting to gain some momentum heading forward. These two powerhouses collided with their pride on the line, hoping to put their name in the mix for a future title shot down the line. The All-Mighty tried to hit his own Spear on The Big Dog, but it was ultimately Roman Reigns who delivered the killing blow and put Lashley away. With a victory under his belt, the former Hound of Justice looked to be ready for any and all comers, but where does he go from here? Ronda Rousey def. Paige The focus of the women's division has recently been on Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch, but you can't forget the ever-dominant Ronda Rousey. The former Champion went into battle against a returning Paige, who also had her Absolution allies, Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville at ringside. But even that wasn't enough to stop The Rowdy One from decimating the competition. After planting Paige with the Rowdy Buster, she applied the devastating Cross Armbar and forced Paige into submission, sending Absolution into retreat. Ronda Rousey just added her name to the conversation, and the entire women's division has definitely been put on notice. Ronda is here, and she's taking no prisoners. John Cena def. Braun Strowman to advance to the finals of the WWE World Championship Tournament The stage has been set. Daniel Bryan was able to secure his spot in the finals earlier in the night, and all that was left was to find out who his opponent would be, and that came down to a match between John Cena and Braun Strowman. The Monster Among Men proved to be one of the toughest foes for the 16-time World Champion, throwing Cena around as though he was a cruiserweight. Somehow, Cena was able to kick out of the Running Powerslam, much to Strowman's fury, but perhaps the anger took his mind off the game and John Cena did what he does best and came back with a shock Attitude Adjustment, planting the big man in the center of the ring and picking up a huge victory, placing him in the finals of the WWE World Championship Tournament next week. John Cena will take on Daniel Bryan for the coveted gold in the main event of next week's episode of Raw. Who will walk out as the Champion? "The New" Daniel Bryan viciously assaults John Cena Moments after the closing bell, during John Cena's celebration, Daniel Bryan made a shocking appearance and viciously assaulted his opponent for next week. "The New" Daniel Bryan unleashed a brutal attack on the 16-time World Champion and finished it off with a stiff running knee to the face, laying Cena out. Standing tall at the end of the night, Bryan looked into the camera once again and declared that he would become the WWE World Champion next week, and that John Cena's fate is already sealed. Only time will tell if what he's saying is indeed the truth.

Elias' opening performance is crashed by EC3 Who'd have thought that the second episode of WCW Nitro would open with a musical number? The Living Truth opened the show to the delight of the crowd, performing a special song dedicated to the history of the WCW brand. Just as the fans were starting to get into it, Elias was cut off by the arrival of The Top 1% - EC3. The reception wasn't great as he made his way to the ring, Elias giving him a glare for interrupting him. The young superstar confronted The Songsmith and informed him that his services would no longer be required because The Top 1% has arrived. Unfortunately, interrupting Elias may not have been his wisest move as he was hit with a right hand and moments later, we received word that an impromptu match had been booked by General Manager, Ric Flair. EC3 def. Elias Maybe he did know what he was doing when he interrupted Elias. Either way, EC3 took the fight to The Living Truth and although Elias looked to get revenge for the rude interruption, it was The Top 1% who walked away with the victory after hitting The One Percent and hooking the leg for the three count. EC3 came out looking to make a name for himself, and it looks as though he did just that. Whether you like him or not, he just showed everyone why he calls himself The Top 1%, and it was a tune that Elias had no option but to listen to. The Bar def. Lucha House Party The tag team division was showcased last week by The Undisputed ERA and The Good Brothers, but this week, two new teams had the chance to dance in the spotlight. Cesaro and Sheamus displayed their aggressive offence as they took on Gran Metalik and Lince Dorado of Lucha House Party. Kalisto watched from ringside as his masked companions were dismantled by the former Tag Team Champions, and after a brutal onslaught, it was Gran Metalik that met his fate to an assisted Brogue Kick giving The Bar the win. Last week's bout was impressive, but you could say that Sheamus and Cesaro may have just set "the bar". Samoa Joe demands to be added to tonight's WCW World Championship Match Last week, Samoa Joe came up short against Seth Rollins in the main event and lost out on the opportunity to compete for the WCW World Championship tonight. But this didn't stop The Destroyer from confronting General Manager, Ric Flair and demanding to be added to the match, claiming to be the "only true deserving Champion". The Nature Boy wasn't going to be intimidated and reminded Joe that he had lost fair and square to Rollins last week, and if he wants a shot at the title, he will have to earn it after tonight. This didn't sit well with The Samoan Submission Machine as he got in Flair's face and told him that he would make him regret not making him WCW World Champion. Joe left, leaving Flair shaking his head. Asuka def. Carmella The Empress of Tomorrow was eager to make her own mark on WCW Nitro after seeing Charlotte Flair score a victory last week over Billie Kay. Carmella tried her hand at knocking off the former Women's Champion, but she was no match for Asuka's dominance and had no alternative but to submit to the Asuka Lock. After the match, Asuka took to the microphone and made her intentions clear - she intends to become the Women's Champion. Which other female superstars will step forward to state their claim to the Women's title in the future? Shinsuke Nakamura def. Chris Jericho After both came up short in their attempts to become WCW World Champion last week, they were booked to compete against one another tonight with General Manager, Ric Flair promising a "special" opportunity for the winner of the match next week. What that opportunity is, nobody knows, but the reward was enough to motivate both competitors. Chris Jericho came close to taking Nakamura out with a Codebreaker, but when The King of Strong Style had the wherewithal to reverse it, he was able to hit the Kinshasa and secure the victory, therefore earning himself Flair's mystery opportunity. Nakamura and the rest of the crowd will have to wait until next week to find out what it is, but WCW's Rockstar will definitely be a part of it one way or another. The War Raiders def. TM-61 Continuing to showcase the tag teams that WCW Nitro has acquired, this match saw the War Raiders clash with TM-61 in a hard-hitting battle. The quick and agile Nick Miller and Shane Thorne were able to avoid any serious offence early on, but once Hanson and Rowe got their hands on them, it was game over. The barbarian pair dominated the competition and finished off Nick Miller with their signature Fallout to secure the victory. The War Raiders celebrated with the crowd and looked as impressive as ever. Moments after their victory, we were shown The Undisputed ERA backstage, watching on a monitor. Could we see these two teams cross paths in the near future? The Velveteen Dream once again refuses to compete on WCW Nitro Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. But you can hardly blame the WCW fans from getting excited to see The Velveteen Dream in action, only for him to give them yet another slap in the face, refusing to perform for them and claiming to be "worth more than what they pay". A brief speech from The Dream revealed that he specifically requested not to be drafted to WCW Nitro, calling it "The B-League" and declaring Nitro "below his pay grade". He left the fans disappointed for the second week in a row, and we were left wondering just when his disrespectful actions will be dealt with. Andrade "Cien" Almas def. R-Truth El Idolo made his in-ring debut on WCW Nitro this week, defeating R-Truth. With Zelina Vega by his side, Almas showcased his unreal ability to the crowd, but unfortunately we also saw some of his dirty tactics. A distraction from Vega at ringside allowed Almas to set up and deliver his Hammerlock DDT for the win. The pair celebrated to a mixed reaction from the crowd, but all they cared about was success. With many other talented performers part of the Nitro brand, where will Almas fit in? AJ Styles def. Rey Mysterio & Seth Rollins to become the new WCW World Champion It had finally arrived, and three superstars squared off to crown the first WCW World Champion of the "new era". Having all qualified for this bout, all were determined as ever to walk away with the prestigious prize. As all three men put on their best display of ability to try and capture the gold, it looked as though Seth Rollins was the one that would be walking away as Champion as he closed in on a win with his signature Stomp. But before he could hit the move, he was blindsided by Samoa Joe! The Destroyer came out of nowhere and viciously assaulted The Architect, dismantling him on the outside and putting him through the announce table with a powerslam. As Joe stood over his fallen foe, AJ Styles gained the advantage inside the ring and hit a Styles Clash on The Master of the 619 to secure the victory and the WCW World Championship. Although shrouded in controversy, The Phenomenal One leaves with the gold, and everyone else is left with questions for Samoa Joe.

Finn Bálor calls out Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn Getting by with the a little help from his friend, Kevin Owens captured the ECW World Championship last week in a Fatal 4-Way Ladder Match, and it was Finn Bálor that was robbed of a near-guaranteed victory by the arrival of KO's best bud, Sami Zayn. The Extraordinary Man opened this week's edition of ECW to call out the devious duo and challenge Kevin Owens to a fair rematch tonight, but when Owens and Zayn emerged, The Prizefighter refused to face Bálor, claiming that he had his chance last week and failed. Just as they were about to leave, however, Paul Heyman emerged and stopped the best friend in their tracks. The Father of ECW declared that while Owens may be right, and Bálor did have his opportunity last week, he's going to give him the chance to earn it again, in tonight's main event - against Sami Zayn! Safe to say, that didn't go down well with the ECW World Champion or his companion. Dean Ambrose def. Jeff Hardy Finn Bálor wasn't the only one screwed out of the ECW World Champion, as both Dean Ambrose and Jeff Hardy were a part of the crowning bout. As a way to let off some steam, both men were thrust into a singles match and both extremists looked to redeem last week's loss and pulled out everything but the kitchen sink. The Charismatic Enigma did what he does best and threw caution to the wind, trying to put Ambrose away with everything possible. But at one point, the tables turned and The Lunatic Fringe decided to play Hardy at his own game, climbing a ladder and throwing himself into his adversary, through a table to secure the victory. With a deranged look in his eye, Dean Ambrose looked around the crowd and looked back at Hardy before picking him up and planting him with a Dirty Deeds for good measure. Ambrose left ringside, leaving Hardy in a heap as the show continued. Lars Sullivan def. Zack Ryder ECW has always had its fair share of freaks, but perhaps none as inhuman as this man. Lars Sullivan made his debut in The Land of Extreme in a match with Zack Ryder, with only one thing in mind - eliminate. The Long Island Iced-Z didn't stand much of a chance as he was bulldozed by the big man and eventually planted with the Freak Accident, giving Sullivan the victory. Making an immediate impact, The Freak stood tall on ECW and sent a physical message to the entire locker room. Lars Sullivan is not the beast to mess with. Ruby Riott def. Natalya Whoever said that women can't be extreme? Tell that to Ruby Riott and Natalya who had the first female match of the "new era" in ECW. With her Riott Squad allies at ringside, Ruby Riott took control of the match, but The Queen of Harts battled back and fought valiantly to overcome the odds. However, the numbers game came into play when Liv Morgan handed Ruby a steel chair and she used it to crack Natalya over the skull, following it up with a Riott Kick for the victory. The Riott Squad stood tall over the fallen second generation extremist and celebrated, sending a message to the WWE and WCW women's locker rooms that The Land of Extreme has some vixens of its own. The Bludgeon Brothers def. The Colóns If you missed the demolition display of The Bludgeon Brothers last week, this is your chance to witness it again. The Ascension fell victim to the barbarian duo last week, but it was The Colóns that suffered the same fate tonight. Primo and Epico were unable to garner any offence against the big men and Primo ultimately fell victim to The Reckoning, finishing him and his cousin off. The hammer-wielding pair stood tall over the destruction and glared out into the ECW crowd. Another team stepped up, and another team was knocked back down. Will anybody be able to rise up to The Bludgeons? Johnny Gargano def. Aleister Black They warned him it wouldn't be forgotten, and it wasn't. Aleister Black went into action against Johnny Gargano on ECW, but his past came back to haunt him as SAnitY emerged for revenge after last week's defeat. Eric Young led his unit to ringside as Alexander Wolfe and Killian Dain jumped onto the ring apron to distract The Dutch Destroyer. This provided an opening for Johnny Wrestling to leap up and lock Black in a crucifix for a quick pinfall, escaping before his adversary could respond. Having cost Black the match, SAnitY descended on the ring and brutally beat down the man who defeated Eric Young last week, leaving him laying. Last week was a verbal warning, but this one was physical. Although, Aleister Black isn't one to forgive or forget, and soon the tables may turn. Bray Wyatt has a sinister message for the ECW locker room Momentarily, the broadcast was hijacked by a sinister being known as Bray Wyatt. The Eater of Worlds appeared on the titantron to issue a sinister message from the infamous Wyatt Compound. With a sadistic cackle, he warned the ECW locker room that it would soon be time to meet their maker and suffer the consequences of their sins. Promising to lead everyone to "the promise land", Wyatt declared himself judge, jury and executioner to all, and vowed to grace us with his physical presence on ECW next week. The Face of Fear made his message crystal clear, and next week we would see the self-proclaimed "reaper" in person. Kassius Ohno & Rhyno def. Rusev & Aiden English With Rusev Day truly back in full force, Kassius Ohno had the numbers game against him last week. But tonight, he found himself his own ally in ECW original, Rhyno. With the help of The Man Beast, The Knockout Artist was able to put a dampener on Rusev Day and knock Aiden English out with the KO Elbow as Rhyno would then keep The Bulgarian Brute at bay. Lana and Rusev left ringside in rage as Ohno and Rhyno stood over The Artiste. Having got his revenge, Ohno embraced his extreme ally and the pair celebrated in victory. It seems that Rusev Day may very well have to be rescheduled. Finn Bálor def. Sami Zayn Stemming from last week's controversial events, and a confrontation at the start of the show, this main event was highly anticipated. The ECW World Champion, Kevin Owens joined commentary as his best friend, Sami Zayn went head-to-head with Finn Bálor. The action went back-and-forth for the most part, but the determination and drive of Bálor helped him push through, evading a Helluva Kick attempt and dropping Zayn with a Slingblade before delivering his Coup de Grace for the victory. The Extraordinary Man gave a glare towards Kevin Owens in the commentary booth and motioned that he would be coming after the ECW World Championship. The Prizefighter looked on with a scowl and raised his title above his head. When will these two be allowed to clash for the prestigious gold?

Daniel Bryan explains his actions from last week Sporting a brand new shirt with the words "Yes is dead" across the front, Daniel Bryan made his way to the ring to address last week's uncharacteristic actions. The former World Champion declared the "Yes Movement" officially dead, claiming that all it has brought him is failure in the last year since his in-ring return. Blaming his lack of success on the WWE crowd, Bryan stated that tonight is the night that he takes back what belongs to him and becomes the WWE World Champion. This unusual behaviour brought boos from the fans who have showed nothing but love for Bryan over the years. But regardless of their reaction, the self-proclaimed "New" Daniel Bryan marked tonight as a fresh start and vowed to vanquish John Cena and take his rightful place at the top where he belongs. The Revival def. The Usos to become the new WWE Tag Team Champions After scoring victories in the past two weeks, The Revival earned the right to go up against another top team in The Usos for the vacant WWE Tag Team Championships. The two teams clashed to open WWE Raw, and went back-and-forth with the titles on the line. Just as Jimmy and Jey looked to be closing in on a win, Dash and Dawson began to use their devious tactics, with Dawson distracting the official while Dash Wilder grabbed one of the title belts and clocked Jey Uso over the head. With the advantage now in their hands and both Jimmy Uso and the official oblivious, they delivered the Shatter Machine to Jey and secured the victory before Jimmy Uso could break up the pin. The Revival are officially crowned the WWE Tag Team Champions, and they did it with no flips, just fists (and a title belt). Chad Gable def. Jason Jordan American Alpha reunited last week and returned to tag team competition, but the reunion was short-lived when Jason Jordan abandoned his ally in a bout with The Revival. Looking to get some revenge on his former partner, Chad Gable issued a challenge to Jordan and Stone Cold Steve Austin granted it, leading to this match taking place tonight. Once again, Jordan attempted to escape harm by fleeing ringside, but Gable was having none of it and dragged the deserter back to the ring and planted him with an impressive O'COnnor Roll German Suplex, picking up the victory and avenging last week's loss. Now that his American Alpha past had been dealt with, could this be Chad Gable's opportunity to rise through the ranks? The Royal Rumble returns to feature all three brands of "The New Era" Exclusively revealed tonight on WWE Raw, the classic event known as the Royal Rumble will return to feature WWE, WCW and ECW talent in just three weeks. The 30-Man Royal Rumble Match will also return, and it will also be alongside the 30-Woman Royal Rumble Match in which the official Women's Champion will be crowned. Which male superstar will earn themselves a main event Championship opportunity? And which female superstar will walk away as the first Women's Champion of the "new era"? Becky Lynch def. Sasha Banks The announcement of the returning 30-Womens Royal Rumble Match sent shockwaves through the female locker room, and the two superstars about to compete were dead set on proving their worth ahead of the historic event in just three weeks. This bout stemmed from Lynch's challenge just last week, and she made good on her promise to beat The Boss and force her into submission. The Man applied the Dis-Arm-Her on her opponents and Sasha had no alternative but to tap out, handing the fiery redhead the win. After the match, Becky Lynch would once again take to the microphone, this time warning the entire women's division across all three brands, vowing to win the Women's Royal Rumble Match and claim the Women's Championship. Tyler Bate def. Intercontinental Champion Bobby Roode via disqualification Last week, Bobby Roode was able to reign supreme in a Six-Pack Challenge to become the first Intercontinental Champion of the "new era", but it wasn't without controversy. The Glorious One used some underhanded tactics to defeat the impressive and determined Tyler Bate who came within inches of capturing the gold for himself. Roode's actions left a bitter taste in the mouths of the WWE fans, and most importantly, in Tyler Bate's. The British combatant challenged Roode to a one-on-one rematch tonight in hopes of winning the title he came so close to grasping last week, but once again, Roode made sure that it was he that walked out as Champion, brutally beating his adversary with a steel chair to get himself disqualified and therefore retain the title. After the official was able to pry the chair away from the Intercontinental Champion, The Glorious One left with a smug grin across his face as the referee tended to Tyler Bate. Braun Strowman wins an 8-Man Over-the-Top-Rope Battle Royal Unfortunately for Braun Strowman, he was knocked out of the WWE World Championship Tournament last week by John Cena. But it would take more than that to stop The Monster Among Men, who destroyed seven other superstars in an 8-Man Over-the-Top-Rope Battle Royal, set up by Stone Cold as a Royal Rumble preview of sorts. Shelton Benjamin, Curt Hawkins, Apollo Crews, "Woken" Matt Hardy, Titus O'Neil, Heath Slater and finally even Bobby Lashley met their demise at the hands of the big man. Strowman and Lashley remained as the final two and The All-Mighty came close to toppling the giant, but he too found himself thrown over the ropes and down to the floor, with Strowman claiming the victory. When it comes to the 30-Man Royal Rumble in three weeks, who will be able to tip The Monster Among Men over and out, if anyone? John Cena responds to Daniel Bryan's statement What Daniel Bryan said at the top of the show was never going to go unnoticed by John Cena, and the 16-time World Champion decided to respond as only he can. Firstly, he reminded "The New" Daniel Bryan that the fans are what made him so popular, just like they made John Cena, just like they made every other superstar that goes out to the ring. Secondly, The Cenation Leader went on to explain that tonight is about the World Championship, and if he can stop it ending up in the hands of someone who can turn their back on the WWE fans in the blink of an eye then he will. Glaring into the camera, Cena promised that tonight he would be fighting for everyone who Bryan has left feeling betrayed. Randy Orton def. Roman Reigns The Big Dog redeemed his departure from the WWE World Championship Tournament with a victory over Bobby Lashley last week, and he looked to continue his momentum with another win. However, it wasn't to be as he came into contact with The Viper. Roman Reigns took Orton to the limit and almost finished him off with a Spear, but in typical "outta nowhere" fashion, The Apex Predator sprung into action with an RKO and finished off the former Hound of Justice. Conspicuous by his absence last week, Randy Orton returned with a vengeance and found success against Reigns. But something seemed different, and The Viper appeared to be a bit more focused than usual. Could Orton's loss at the hands of The Miz on the premiere episode have triggered something inside of this dangerous superstar? Bayley, Ronda Rousey & Ember Moon def. Mickie James, Alexa Bliss & Nia Jax The Women's Royal Rumble Match will be the biggest opportunity yet for the female superstars of all three brands, but WWE Raw's superstars were looking to get some momentum ahead of time in Six-Woman Tag Team action. The different elements mashed into one chaotic battle made this one an entertaining bout, but it was Bayley's time to shine this week as she was able to plant former Women's Champion, Mickie James with the Bayley-to-Belly and secure the victory for her team. After the match, she celebrated with Ronda Rousey and Ember Moon as Alexa Bliss and Nia Jax helped Mickie away from ringside. But the celebration soon became an afterthought as the three superstars in the ring turned to each other and the tension rose, realising that in three weeks it would indeed be every woman for herself. Daniel Bryan def. John Cena to become the WWE World Champion "The New" Daniel Bryan is now your new WWE World Champion, much to the dismay of all those who he had turned his back on. The finals of the WWE World Championship Tournament ended tonight as Bryan took on former 16-time World Champion, John Cena in a titanic clash for the coveted gold. Bryan's new attitude shone through as he did what it took to keep The Cenation Leader at bay, no matter the cost. He came close to leaving empty handed when Cena hit him with the Attitude Adjustment, but his new attitude still gave him the same fight and resilience as before as he kicked out at the last second. Cena attempted to lock in the STF and force Bryan into submission, but after escaping, Bryan hit the running knee and applied The Yes Lock on his adversary, hoping to do the unthinkable and make Cena tap. Shockingly enough, he succeeded. The man who says "never give up" had no alternative but to submit to the horror of the WWE crowd. The new WWE World Champion snatched his title from the clutches of the official and stared into it with a maniacal grin. John Cena sat on the ring apron with his head in his hands, devastated that he had let it slip through his fingers. But whether you like it or not, the era of Daniel Bryan is upon us. But not the one many would have hoped, because one fact overshadows all of that - Yes is dead.

Ric Flair calls out Samoa Joe for an explanation for his actions When Samoa Joe was refused entry into the main event last week having lost his qualifying bout, he decided to take matters into his own hands, interjecting himself and focusing his anger on Seth Rollins, effectively costing him the WCW World Championship. WCW Nitro General Manager, Ric Flair opened tonight's show to call out The Destroyer, demanding an explanation for his actions, but Joe refused to cooperate, claiming that he "does what he wants, when he wants to". However, he soon felt the repercussions for his actions as Seth Rollins hit the ring and engaged in an all-out brawl with the man who cost him his golden opportunity. After security had separated the pair, The Nature Boy announced that they would collide in tonight's main event inside a Steel Cage to settle the score. And to add a little bit of extra spice, the winner will challenge for the WCW World Championship at the Royal Rumble! Adam Cole def. Shinsuke Nakamura to become the new WCW United States Champion Ric Flair promised Shinsuke Nakamura an opportunity for his victory over Chris Jericho last week, and that opportunity was to compete for the WCW United States Championship. Also receiving the opportunity was The Undisputed ERA's Adam Cole, and he didn't come alone. The King of Strong Style had to contend with Bobby Fish, Kyle O'Reilly and Roderick Strong, as well as Adam Cole himself. The Rockstar came close to capturing the gold as he prepared to deliver the Kinshasa, but O'Reilly and Fish grabbed a leg each, preventing Nakamura from striking. The official sent them packing from ringside, but the distraction was enough for Cole to deliver a superkick and follow it up with The Last Shot, claiming the win. Quickly fleeing from ringside, The Undisputed ERA celebrate Cole's victory as Shinsuke Nakamura slowly came to. With the title in their possession, is this the beginning of their takeover of WCW Nitro? Dolph Ziggler & Drew McIntyre def. The B-Team The WCW tag team division continues to grow by the week, and tonight added two more units to the chase for the WCW Tag Team Championships. The B-Team arrived to the delight of the WCW crowd, but they weren't so happy to see the duo of Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre. This dangerous alliance showed their ability in this bout, defeating Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel with a series of tandem moves, finally finishing them off with the Claymore/Zig Zag combination. After picking up the impressive victory, the pair grabbed a microphone and declared that no matter whether it is singles action or tag team actions, they plan to dominate and take over WCW Nitro piece by piece, finally taking what they believe to be theirs. Mustafa Ali def. Noam Dar, Akira Tozawa & Tony Nese to advance to next week's WCW Cruiserweight Championship Match Announced moments before this match, the WCW Cruiserweight Championship will be awarded next week, and tonight will feature two Fatal 4-Way matches to determine the two number one contenders. The first of these two bouts featured Mustafa Ali, Akira Tozawa, Noam Dar and Tony Nese, all vying for a place in the big match next week. The Premiere Athlete and Akira Tozawa tumbled to the outside from the top rope leaving Ali and Dar in the ring. Capitalising on the opportunity, Mustafa Ali struck with the impressive Slingshot X-Factor to secure the victory, earning his place in next week's Cruiserweight Championship match. Can Mustafa Ali go the whole way and capture the gold? The Velveteen Dream reveals that he will make his debut in the Royal Rumble Match Just as expected, The Velveteen Dream would once again deny the fans a performance as he refused to compete on WCW Nitro. However, we did gain more of an idea as to when we will eventually see the unorthodox superstar make his in-ring debut. He took to a microphone to reveal that he intends to debut in the 30-Man Royal Rumble Match, claiming that it will be his ticket out of WCW Nitro. Vowing to win the iconic match, The Velveteen Dream states that when he is the last man standing, he will immediately make the jump to WWE Raw and escape the confines of the "B-brand hell". General Manager, Ric Flair cannot be happy with The Dream's behaviour as of late, but he has yet to make a statement. Will The Nature Boy have an opinion on The Dream's Royal Rumble declaration? Charlotte Flair def. Naomi The Queen returned to WCW Nitro after a one week absence, in the light of the upcoming Women's Royal Rumble Match that will be for the Women's Championship. Charlotte Flair defeat Naomi tonight with her patented Figure-Eight Leglock, but moments after the closing bell, The Empress of Tomorrow emerged to confront the victor. Time stood still as the two stared off, The Empress and The Queen, face-to-face. With the 30-Woman Royal Rumble around the corner, could one of these two superstars be the one to walk away with the Women's Championship on the night? WCW World Champion AJ Styles def. Andrade "Cien" Almas While it may have been controversial due to Samoa Joe's involvement, AJ Styles still walked away as the WCW World Champion. And now knowing that he will either defend the gold against Seth Rollins or Samoa Joe at the Royal Rumble, he was undoubtedly looking to send a message to the both of them with an impressive victory. Andrade Almas debuted last week with a victory, but even he couldn't overcome The Phenomenal One in his top form, defeating El Idilo with the Styles Clash, despite Zelina Vega's best efforts to assist. After the match, Styles made a point of raising the title to the camera with a glare that was no doubt a message to his potential contenders. He's ready for them, whoever it may be. Hideo Itami def. Kalisto, Cedric Alexander & TJP to advance to next week's WCW Cruiserweight Championship Match Mustafa Ali earned his place in next week's WCW Cruiserweight Championship Match earlier in the night. The second of two bouts to determine the contenders took place and it was Hideo Itami who walked away with the ticket to the title. Showing a brutal and aggressive offence, he took out all three of his adversaries with vicious kicks and crippling submissions before eventually putting Kalisto away with a Go To Sleep for the victory. Taking no prisoners, Hideo Itami stood tall in victory with one thing on his mind - become the WCW Cruiserweight Champion. Big Show assaults Rey Mysterio After coming up short in last week's WCW World Championship match, Rey Mysterio looked to redeem himself with a victory over EC3, but before he even got past the stage, he was assaulted from behind by an angry giant. The Big Show chose this moment to make his WCW Nitro debut, grabbing Mysterio and throwing him into the stage setup. After demolishing his much-smaller target, he grabbed Mysterio by the throat and planted him into the stage with a Chokeslam. The WCW crowd made their voices heard, booing the giant out of the building, but all he did was look around with a snarl. It seems that The World's Largest Athlete had arrived just in time for the Royal Rumble Match. Who is going to be able to eliminate such an imposing competitor when the 30-Man spectacular comes around? Samoa Joe def. Seth Rollins in a Steel Cage Match to become the number one contender It all boils down to this. A chaotic start to Nitro led to this Steel Cage Match being made by Ric Flair, with the winner going on to the Royal Rumble to challenge AJ Styles for the WCW World Championship. The bad blood between these two superstars stemmed from Joe's actions last week, costing Rollins his chance at becoming WCW World Champion. But the opportunity to redeem himself was in his hands, but the same opportunity was also in Joe's hands too. They tore each other part inside the confines of the steel, both men determined to earn their shot at AJ Styles. But when neither of them could escape the other, it came down to who could incapacitate the other, and it was The Destroyer who succeeded as he was able to plant The Architect with the Muscle Buster and secure the victory after a gruelling match inside the cage. Samoa Joe stood tall over his fallen adversary and raised his hand in victory, knowing he had the opportunity to now go on to face AJ Styles at the Royal Rumble for the WCW World Championship. But what is next for Seth Rollins? And will this be the last time we see him and Joe cross paths?

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn challenge Finn Bálor to find himself a tag team partner for tonight's main event The Extraordinary Man got his own back on Sami Zayn last week, defeating him in the main event as the ECW World Champion, Kevin Owens looked on in anger. Looking to teach Finn Bálor a lesson, Owens and Zayn opened this week's edition of ECW to issue a challenge to the thorn in their side, suggesting that he find a tag team partner for tonight's main event to take them on. Promising to eliminate Bálor once and for all, Owens stated that he would not let Finn Bálor or anyone ruin his time as ECW World Champion, and there's nobody on the planet that can take it away from him. And with a supportive bit of input for his best friend, Sami Zayn simply exclaimed - "Yep!". Will The Extraordinary Man be able to find himself an ally to go into battle against The Sami and Kevin Show? Rusev def. Rhyno The Man Beast came to the aid of Kassius Ohno last week in his battle against Rusev and Aiden English. This week, Rhyno went into singles action against The Bulgarian Brute with The Knockout Artist in his corner. Aiden English and Rusev's wife, Lana tried to get involved in the match, only to have Kassius Ohno step in and prevent them from interfering. However, the chaos created enough of a distraction to take Rhyno's attention away for long enough and as he attempted a Gore, he was met with a Machka Kick, grounding the ECW original and allowing Rusev to claim the victory. After the match, The Bulgarian Brute fled with his companions as Ohno checked on his fallen ally. Rusev Day was right back on schedule and the celebration continued up the aisle. It seems as though we may have to celebrate with them, like it or not. The Bludgeon Brothers def. Goldust & No Way Jose For the third week in a row, The Bludgeon Brothers annihilate another team, and this one consisted of dancing sensation, No Way Jose and iconic superstar, Goldust. The oddball team looked to take down the barbarian duo and accomplish what no other team has yet been able to do, but it wasn't to be. Much like the two teams before them, they suffered the same bludgeoning and fell victim to The Reckoning which put The Bizarre One down for the count. The question is once again raised - who can defeat this destructive force, and is it even possible? So far, the answer is a very convincing "no", and there's no signs of that changing anytime soon. Dean Ambrose declares ECW a "disgusting cesspool" Once a beloved member of The Shield, Dean Ambrose has since become even more of a lunatic than ever before. The unhinged extremist came up short in the first week's ECW World Championship Match and a week later, vented his frustrations on Jeff Hardy in a barbaric bout that left The Charismatic Enigma in a heap. With a new look and a seemingly new attitude, The Lunatic Fringe made his way into the arena sporting a gas mask and completely blanking the members of the hardcore crowd. Upon grabbing a microphone, Ambrose declared ECW a "disgusting cesspool" and marked tonight as the beginning of the cleansing. He stated that he would take over The Land of Extreme and descend it into chaos until it implodes on itself, with him standing atop the carnage. Starting as he means to go on, Ambrose issued an open challenge to any ECW extremist in the back who wants to "dance with the devil" and meet their demise at his hands. The challenge was answered by determined Pete Dunne. Dean Ambrose def. Pete Dunne The Bruiserweight pulled no punches as he headed into the collision with Dean Ambrose, answering his open challenge here on ECW. He came out swinging and both men put on an incredible match which saw near falls and big moves here, there and everywhere. But Dunne's determination was not enough to combat Ambrose's even more psychotic new attitude, with The Lunatic Fringe unleashing a hellish beating with a steel chair on his British adversary before finally planting him head-first into the steel with a Dirty Deeds. Standing tall after claiming the victory, Ambrose looked down at his opponent and sadistically smiled before looking up and wiping his face with widened eyes. Is this the beginning of Ambrose's so-called "cleansing"? Bray Wyatt def. Tye Dillinger He warned us all. The Reaper has cometh. Bray Wyatt made his ECW in-ring debut against The Perfect 10 this week, and what transpired was nothing short of disturbing. The Eater of Worlds dismantled Dillinger without him getting so much as an ounce of offence in, destroying him from the get-go and showcasing some of his most disturbing behaviour yet. When the fight tumbled to the outside, Wyatt planted his adversary onto the arena floor with a Sister Abigail, causing even the most hardcore of ECW fans to cringe. He finally decided to roll his opponent back into the ring and it was there that he delivered a second Sister Abigail, after which he scored the pinfall and claimed the victory. After the closing bell, Wyatt grabbed a microphone and laughed maniacally before declaring that "Judgement day is upon us, and The Reaper has come to take your souls". With a flash of static, the arena was plunged into darkness. Bray Wyatt is back, and more sadistic than ever. Aleister Black vs. Killian Dain ends in a no contest Continuing his search for revenge on SAnitY, Aleister Black took on The Beast of Belfast in singles action, and was able to keep the monster at bay for most of the bout. However, when The Dutch Destroyer looked to be closing in on a victory over SAnitY's big man, Eric Young and Alexander Wolfe jumped in and began to beat down Black in a merciless attack. The official was tossed from the ring in the carnage and the 3-on-1 assault continued with the ECW crowd watching on in horror. But suddenly, Aleister Black had some assistance on his side as Konnor and Viktor of The Ascension emerged to even the odds. The Wasteland Warriors came to Black's aid and helped him fend off SAnitY's attack, standing beside their fallen friend. The tables have turned and the odds have been evened. Aleister Black stood with Konnor and Viktor by his side and pointed out to Eric Young, making it clear that this was no longer a numbers game... this is war. Lars Sullivan def. Oney Lorcan The Freak made his debut last week, destroying Zack Ryder with ease. This week was much of the same, but there was a slight difference - Drew Gulak. Mysteriously, Gulak made his way to the ring beside Lars Sullivan and stood at ringside throughout the entire bout. Sullivan dismantled Oney Lorcan and planted him with the Freak Accident to secure the win. Moments later, he was joined in the ring by Drew Gulak for a celebration, and Gulak grabbed a microphone to clear up the confusion, revealing his allegiance with The Freak, claiming that Lars shares his own desire to make ECW a safer workplace. And anyone who objects will have to go through Lars Sullivan. Good luck. Finn Bálor & Rob Van Dam def. Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn might think twice before they make challenges to Finn Bálor again. After challenging The Extraordinary Man to a tag team match in tonight's main event, they tasked him with finding himself a tag team partner, and he delivered in an extreme way. Digging deep into the history of ECW, Bálor walked out and was followed by none other than former World Champion, Rob Van Dam. The Whole F'n Show hit the ring and immediately went to work on the best friend duo alongside his ally. The Prizefighter tried to combat RVD's offence, but instead decided to let Sami Zayn deal with the opposition, opting to stand at ringside. After Bálor hit a Slingblade on The Underdog from the Underground, he tagged in Van Dam who connected with his patented Five-Star Frog Splash for the victory. Rob Van Dam has returned home to ECW, and Kevin Owens now has two talented athletes to contend with. He and Zayn retreated, Owens clutching his ECW World Championship to his chest, as Bálor and RVD embraced and celebrated their victory. Everybody chant: R-V-D!

John Cena vows to keep fighting and announces his entry into the Royal Rumble Match It wasn't to be for John Cena last week after coming up short against Daniel Bryan in the WWE World Championship bout. The Cenation Leader fought long-and-hard, but ultimately it was "The New" Daniel Bryan who walked away with the prestigious title. But as has become synonymous with Cena, he hit the ring to announce that he will never give up. Promising to reach the top once more, he vowed to become WWE World Champion and continue to fight for everything he loves. He started by confirming his entry into the Royal Rumble Match as one of WWE Raw's 10 entrants. Can John Cena add a third Rumble victory to his already Hall of Fame worthy career? The New Day def. The Usos & The Authors of Pain to become number one contenders for the WWE Tag Team Championships next week The Revival captured the coveted tag titles last week on Raw with a victory over The Usos in controversial fashion. But wasting no time, Stone Cold Steve Austin began the search for their first challengers, and in a Triple Threat bout that featured a second chance for The Usos, those contenders were indeed found. Does anyone like pancakes? The New Day were victorious after teaming with Jimmy and Jey to dispose of the dangerous AOP, and then turning their attention to each other. Seeing the opportunity, Kofi Kingston struck with the Trouble In Paradise on Jey Uso to score the victory for him and his team. Moments after the closing bell, the WWE Tag Team Champions emerged and The Revival gave a warning to their new contenders that there would be no chance of victory for them next week. Can The New Day cut The Revival's reign short next week on WWE Raw? Nia Jax def. Bayley Last week's 6-Woman Tag Team bout landed Nia Jax with a loss, despite not being involved in the final decision. The monstrous superstar looked to redeem the loss and prove that it had nothing to do with her, and she did just that. Despite Bayley's best efforts, she could not contend with the powerful offence of Jax and fell victim to a Samoan Drop. After the match, Nia Jax grabbed a microphone to declare her entry into the Women's Royal Rumble Match and guaranteed victory, promising to become the Women's World Champion. Stone Cold Steve Austin reveals that Daniel Bryan will meet his Royal Rumble challenger tonight "The New" Daniel Bryan conquered John Cena last week to capture the WWE World Championship in a controversial bout, turning his back on the entire WWE Universe in the process. With The Cenation Leader announcing his entry into the 30-Man Royal Rumble Match, Daniel Bryan now faces the task of finding a challenger. But General Manager, Stone Cold Steve Austin already has that covered, appearing on the titantron to reveal that he has found the ideal opponent for Daniel Bryan at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event. The Texas Rattlesnake promised that nobody would be disappointed, and it would be someone that could teach Daniel Bryan a lesson in respect, one that he believes is very much needed. Who has Austin chosen to challenge Bryan for the prestigious prize? Braun Strowman def. Bobby Lashley The Royal Rumble Match has always favoured the bigger superstars, because after all, there are few men who can lift them over the top rope alone, and history tells us that the majority of giants have needed several superstars to unite to eliminate them. Braun Strowman is no different, and he proved his worth with a victory in an 8-Man Over-the-Top-Rope Battle Royal last week, last eliminating a game Bobby Lashley for the win. The All-Mighty looked to get a measure of revenge against The Monster Among Men in a one-on-one contest this week, but Strowman was still on his momentous run, and ran through the former United States Champion, crushing him with a Running Powerslam to secure yet another victory. Will anybody be able to stop The Monster Among Men in the 30-Man Royal Rumble Match? Or are we looking at the next number one contender to a World Championship? Tyler Bate & Chad Gable def. Intercontinental Champion Bobby Roode & Jason Jordan Tyler Bate has unfortunately come up short in his attempts to capture the Intercontinental Championship. First, losing to Bobby Roode in controversial fashion two weeks ago as The Glorious One resorted to some underhanded tactics to put the British superstar away. And last week, Bate once again came within an inch of becoming the Intercontinental Champion until Roode once again decided to take the easy way out, using a steel chair on his adversary and saving his skin via disqualification. This week, Tyler Bate aligned with the impressive Chad Gable to yet again take on Bobby Roode, alongside Jason Jordan. And proving that he is very much capable of defeating The Glorious One, Bate rolled him into a small package to secure the victory for himself and Gable. Will the moustached superstar get his fair opportunity against Bobby Roode? Paige def. Ember Moon The 30-Woman Royal Rumble Match has lit a fire underneath all the female superstars across the "new era", and it has been shown week in, week out. Tonight, the ever-impressive Ember Moon looked to pick up another victory, this time over former Champion, Paige. But with Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose of Absolution at ringside in her corner, The Raven-Haired Renegade had a distinct advantage, and although Ember Moon fought valiantly against the odds, she was unable to overcome them. She ascended the ropes to go for her Eclipse, but both Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville jumped to the apron to prevent her leaving the turnbuckle. She did eventually kick down Paige's allies, but the distraction was effective enough to allow Paige some time to recover and after pulling Moon from the top with an armdrag, she applied the devastating PTO and forced her into submission. Paige and Absolution reign supreme, and there's every chance that she could be the one to stand tall as the Women's World Champion. Kane def. Shelton Benjamin We haven't seen The Big Red Monster since the opening round of the WWE World Championship Tournament. But he was certainly still lurking in the shadows for the prime opportunity to strike. The big man made his return to WWE Raw this week to take on Shelton Benjamin, and ultimately destroyed the former Intercontinental Champion with a show of aggression we haven't seen from Kane in a long time. One Chokeslam later and Kane was declared the victor, standing tall over his fallen foe. Has The Devil's Favourite Demon returned to put his name in the mix for the Men's Royal Rumble Match? If he has, good luck to the other 29 participants, because you're about to be taken through hell, fire and brimstone. Randy Orton vs. The Miz ends in a no contest The Viper had been eager to get his hands on The Miz after being knocked out of the WWE World Championship Tournament by him in the first round. Orton returned last week with a victory over Roman Reigns, and set his sights on The A-Lister immediately after. Finally getting the opportunity to get some revenge, he and The Miz went toe-to-toe in the main event, and it looked as though Orton was well on his way to securing a vengeful victory over his A-List adversary. However, it seems that he had ruffled the feathers of The Big Dog after a vicious match with him last week, and Roman Reigns emerged during the match to strike Orton with a thunderous Spear. The Miz smiled from ear-to-ear, mocking The Viper as he clutched his midsection on the canvas, but he soon realised that Reigns wasn't just here for Orton, and Miz was struck with a Spear of his own, rendering the match a no contest. The Big Dog stood over both superstars and howled with intensity. Roman Reigns has made a statement ahead of the Men's Royal Rumble Match, and both Randy Orton and The Miz were the objects of his message. Kurt Angle returns to WWE Raw and is named the number one contender for the WWE World Championship Stone Cold Steve Austin promised that Daniel Bryan would find out who his challenger for the WWE World Championship at the Royal Rumble would be, and boy did we find out in style. "The New" Daniel Bryan took to the ring to address Austin, claiming that no matter who he had chose as his opponent, nobody would be able to take the title away from him, because his lifestyle choices and his ability make him better than everybody else. The Texas Rattlesnake emerged on the stage and agreed that Bryan is one of the most talented athletes to set foot between the ropes, but there is always someone waiting to kick your ass when you get to the top. Suddenly, Daniel Bryan found himself hoisted into the air from behind and driven into the canvas by none other than Kurt Angle! The Olympic Gold Medalist returned to WWE Raw to deliver an Angle Slam to the WWE World Champion as Stone Cold announced that The Wrestling Machine would be Bryan's adversary at the Royal Rumble. With his tail between his legs, Bryan quickly fled ringside clutching his back and holding his title close as Angle made sure he got the message loud and clear - he's coming for the WWE World Championship. Daniel Bryan will have his hands full at the Royal Rumble - oh it's true, it's damn true!

The Velveteen Dream is put in his place by The Nature Boy Maybe we were too optimistic to think that The Velveteen Dream had changed his mind from last week and was coming out to finally make his in-ring debut on WCW Nitro. But once again the fans were left disappointed as he refused to compete and reiterated his statement from last week, that he will make his debut in the 30-Man Royal Rumble Match. But this time, as he turned to leave the ring, he was cut off by the arrival of General Manager, Ric Flair. The Nature Boy expressed his disappointment in The Dream and informed him that his recent disobedience hadn't gone unnoticed, and as a result, he would be punished. The Velveteen Dream was told that he would indeed be allowed to debut in the 30-Man Royal Rumble Match, but the catch? He will enter the match at number one! Not only that, but Naitch stated that if The Velveteen Dream doesn't win and remains on WCW Nitro, then he will be forced to compete each and every week or he will be suspended indefinitely. It seems that The Dream's egotistical plan has backfired. Mustafa Ali def. Hideo Itami to become the new WCW Cruiserweight Champion Both athletes picked up huge wins in Fatal 4-Way action last week to earn the right to compete for the vacant WCW Cruiserweight Championship. The first title holer would be crowned tonight, and if last week's events were anything to go by, Hideo Itami would be more aggressive than ever. He certainly was, and took Mustafa Ali to the limit, hoping to capture his first Cruiserweight Championship, showing no mercy for his adversary. But when Itami attempted a suplerplex from the top rope, he was thrown down to the canvas and this allowed Ali to deliver his awe-inspiring 045 Splash to pikc up the victory and secure himself the gold. The high-flyer stood tall in an emotional celebration, clutching his newly won title belt and paving the way for the Cruiserweight division here on WCW Nitro. Who will be the first to rise to the occasion and challenge him for the cruiserweight prize? Shinsuke Nakamura & The Good Brothers def. The Undisputed ERA The King of Strong Style came up short against Adam Cole last week, meaning that he would not become the first WCW United States Champion. However, it wasn't without controversy as the rest of The Undisputed ERA were heavily involved, making it almost impossible for Nakamura to walk out with the win. This week, he evened the odds with some friends of his own, seeking the help of fellow Japan combatants, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson - The Good Brothers. With them by his side, The Rockstar was able to get his measure of revenge on Adam Cole's three allies, disposing of Kyle O'Reilly and Roderick Strong, leaving Bobby Fish to take the Kinshasa, giving Shinsuke Nakamura the victory. As the United States Champion, Adam Cole looked on from ringside, The King of Strong Style beckoned him into the ring, screaming "Come onnnnnnn" to the delight of the WCW crowd. However, Cole retreated with his Undisputed ERA cohorts and left us waiting just a bit longer for their second clash. Are Seth Rollins and the WCW World Champion, AJ Styles on the same page? It is revealed by the commentary team that tonight's main event will see the WCW World Champion, AJ Styles team up with Seth Rollins to take on the team of the number one contender, Samoa Joe and Andrade "Cien" Almas. In a backstage meeting, Styles and Rollins come face-to-face and discuss their upcoming bout, with both men stating that they want a piece of Samoa Joe. While The Phenomenal One claimed that he had a duty to get his hands on Joe ahead of their title clash at the Royal Rumble, The Architect stated that he had unfinished business with The Destroyer that needn't concern the WCW World Champion. With tensions growing, the question remains - can these two co-exist tonight to get the victory over their rivals? Big Show def. Sin Cara After making his first appearance for WCW Nitro last week, the Big Show made an immediate statement by assaulting Rey Mysterio before his scheduled match. The World's Largest Athlete left the luchadore in a heap as officials and medical personnel rushed to his aid. This week, the giant took on another luchadore in Sin Cara, and destroyed the masked superstar with vicious intent. After connecting with the Knockout Punch, he picked up the victory and grabbed the microphone from ringside. The Big Show declared that what happened to Rey Mysterio last week is nothing compared to what he is going to do to the 29 other men in the Royal Rumble Match, and he doesn't give a damn if it's Rey Mysterio or even if it's WWE Raw's Braun Strowman. He exclaims that he is the only true giant in the wrestling industry, and says that there is nothing that will stop him from being the last man standing. The IIconics def. Charlotte Flair & Asuka They may have crossed paths last week with plenty of tension in the air, but much like AJ Styles and Seth Rollins later tonight, Charlotte Flair and Asuka must put their differences aside to take on The IIconics ahead of the Women's Royal Rumble. They appeared to be working well as a unit, but the combined efforts of Billie Kay and Peyton Royce were somehow able to topple The Queen and The Empress. But not without some miscommunication between Flair and Asuka. After a blind tag from The Queen frustrated Asuka at ringside, The IIconics capitalised and ran Charlotte into her partner, knocking her from the apron and rolling her up for the shock victory. Kay and Royce quickly fled ringside with smug grins on their faces as Charlotte Flair looked on in fury. Asuka wasn't too pleased either, glaring at her tag team partner from the outside. Things are going to explode when the Women's Royal Rumble comes around. Drew McIntyre def. Elias Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler showed their dominance as a team last week, but this week was all about their individual strengths. As The Living Truth looked to pick up his first victory on WCW Nitro, he was unfortunately met by The Sinister Scot who took down his adversary with his signature aggressive offence and finished him off with the Claymore to put an end to Elias' night. After the match, The Scot Terminator declared that he and Dolph Ziggler would be entering the 30-Man Royal Rumble Match, and guaranteed that one of them would walk out as the winner, one way or another. If they remain united throughout the match, can anyone truly stop them from reaching the final two and going on to capturing the unique opportunity? Hideo Itami viciously assaults Mustafa Ali backstage What was supposed to be a night of celebration for Mustafa Ali after capturing the WCW Cruiserweight Championship at the start of the show, soon turned into a nightmare. Just as the new Champion was taking a moment to reflect on his monumental accomplishment, he was blindsided by the very man he beat - Hideo Itami. The somewhat psychotic competitor blasted Ali with a steel chair and repeatedly smacked it over the spine of his rival, screaming in Japanese as he does. Finally, he dropped the steel chair and walked away, glaring down at his motionless victim as officials entered the room to diffuse the situation. Hideo continued muttering in Japanese, but one snippet of his speech was clear as crystal - "Mustafa Ali... that Cruiserweight Championship is mine". Samoa Joe & Andrade "Cien" Almas def. WCW World Champion AJ Styles & Seth Rollins The Destroyer secured his place as number one contender with a victory over Seth Rollins inside a steel cage last week, and looked to get an early momentum boost by defeating the WCW World Champion in tag team action. Somehow, he did just that and believe it or not, it wasn't due to a lack of cooperation between Styles and Rollins. The pair worked as a well-oiled unit against their adversaries, but when Zelina Vega got involved, resulting in Seth Rollins being taken out on the outside by Andrade Almas, this attracted the attention of The Phenomenal One and he fell victim to a Coquina Clutch. In a shocking turn of events, Samoa Joe forced the WCW World Champion to submit, claiming a victory over the man he will face at the Royal Rumble. The Destroyer stood tall and even snatched the title belt from the hands of the referee, holding it above his head himself with one foot on the chest of his opponent. Seth Rollins slowly climbed to his feet after been run into the steel steps by Almas, looking as angry as ever. Almas and Vega retreated with smug expressions as the show closed on Samoa Joe standing voer AJ Styles with the WCW World Championship held high. Is this a sign of things to come?

Paul Heyman addresses the ECW World Championship picture Tonight's edition of ECW TV comes to you from the iconic Hammerstein Ballroom, and kicking things off was The Father of ECW himself, Paul Heyman. After expressing his delight at being back in the Ballroom, he goes on to address the current situation with the ECW World Championship and explains that they must find a challenger for Kevin Owens for the upcoming Royal Rumble event. And to decide that, Paul Heyman has decided that there will be a Three Way Dance in tonight's main event that will feature Finn Bálor, Sami Zayn and Rob Van Dam to determine that challenger. Which of these extremists will go on to face The Prizefighter for the extreme gold on pay-per-view? Aleister Black & The Ascension def. SAnitY The Dutch Destroyer has been the subject of SAnitY's torture since ECW made its return, and up until last week, the numbers game was getting the better of Aleister Black. However, he had some friends of his own as The Ascension came to his aid last week, resulting in this Six-Man Tag Team bout being made by Paul Heyman. With the odds evened, Black was able to overcome Eric Young's dangerous unit and defeated Alexander Wolfe with a Black Mass. As SAnitY reluctantly retreated, Eric Young grabbed a microphone to make an official challenge to Aleister Black for next week. Eric Young versus Aleister Black in a First Blood Match! The fight is on, and it won't be pretty when these two bitter rivals collide next week. Lars Sullivan def. No Way Jose It was a shocking turn of events when Drew Gulak revealed himself as the new manager of Lars Sullivan, claiming that their goal was to create a safer working environment for ECW. We were right to be sceptical, as The Freak once again went into action and destroyed No Way Jose with no care for his well-being. Sullivan sent The Dominican Dancing Machine over the ropes through a table to put a close to the match, completely going against what Gulak led us to believe. He celebrated with his newfound monster in the ring, having destroyed yet another extremist. Who is next on their list of victims as Lars Sullivan continues to run roughshod through The Land of Extreme? Dean Ambrose def. Kassius Ohno Dean Ambrose's change of attitude took everyone by surprise, but it all stemmed from when he seemingly snapped and delivered a brutal beating to Jeff Hardy two weeks ago. Much like last week, The Lunatic Fringe issued another open challenge to any extremist who thought they could best him, and this time it was answered by Kassius Ohno. The Knockout Artist took Ambrose to the limit, but after a low blow and a Dirty Deeds into a steel chair, Ambrose was able to secure another victory. The crowd were less than please as The Lunatic Fringe gloated to them, but his moment of glory was cut short by the return of Jeff Hardy! The Charismatic Enigma exploded onto the scene in the Hammerstein Ballroom and sent his rival crashing to the outside, then launching himself over the ropes with an unbelievable dive. Dean Ambrose quickly scurried away from ringside with his tail between his legs as his high-flying adversary stood beckoning him for more. Jeff Hardy is back, and he's out for blood. Watch your back, Ambrose. Paul Heyman issues another address, this time regarding the Women's Royal Rumble There has been some uncertainty regarding ECW's participation in the Women's Royal Rumble Match. It's no secret that the female roster is fairly limited in The Land of Extreme, but Paul Heyman took to the camera once again to issue a statement regarding this bout. The Father of ECW vowed that ECW would have an equal presence at the Royal Rumble, regardless of what the current state of the roster might suggest. He promises that 10 female extremists will enter the match on ECW's behalf, just like WWE Raw and WCW Nitro will have. Heyman claims to have "something up his sleeve", and it's safe to say that everyone is intrigued to see his plans unfold. Natalya & Dana Brooke def. The Riott Squad Just moments after Paul Heyman's announcement that ECW would definitely participate in the Women's Royal Rumble Match, the female extremists took to the ring for tag team action. Eager to make an impact ahead of their inclusion in the unique opportunity match, they put it all on the line. Ruby Riott looked on from ringside as her allies, Sarah Logan and Liv Morgan went into action against Natalya and Dana Brooke. The Queen of Harts was able to take control of the match and force Liv to submit to the iconic Sharpshooter in the center of the ring. Moments after the bell, Natalya and Brooke stood face-to-face and shook hands, showing respect before they compete with 28 other women in the Over-the-Top-Rope bout that will crown the first Women's World Champion of the "new era". Rhyno def. Johnny Gargano Turning his attention away from Rusev Day, Rhyno looked to the future and it doesn't get much more "future" than Johnny Gargano. After a brief confrontation backstage that saw Gargano disrespect the lineage of ECW and call Rhyno a "washed-up nobody", it led to this bout between the two. Johnny Wrestling learned the hard way that you don't call out a Man Beast in his own home as Rhyno ran through the young extremist and beat him with a thunderous Gore. With the Royal Rumble Match around the corner, Rhyno is sure to be one of the entrants representing The Land of Extreme, and if they're watching this now, then they know that they have one thing that they must do - avoid the Gore at all costs. The Dudley Boyz return as Paul Heyman announced ECW Tag Team Championship Match next week Nobody has been able to topple the devastating duo of Harper and Rowan, The Bludgeon Brothers. Team after team have stepped up to the barbarian unit only to be taken down with relative ease. The pair took to the ring to declare their dominance over the ECW tag team division, claiming to have conquered the entire competition and demanding that they be rewarded with gold. The Father of ECW made yet another appearance, Paul Heyman coming out to confirm that The Bludgeon Brothers have indeed decimated each and every team placed before them. But they haven't defeated "every" team in ECW, revealing that next week, they will get their chance to claim the gold as they compete for the ECW Tag Team Championships against a very familiar duo. Suddenly, the Hammerstein Ballroom erupts as The Dudley Boyz emerge from out of nowhere, taking down The Bludgeons. And in the chaos, they were able to deliver their patented 3-D to Rowan, sending a clear message to the undefeated duo. Paul Heyman continues to pull it out of the bag, and now next week, The Bludgeon Brothers and The Dudley Boyz will collide to crown the first ECW Tag Team Champions! Holy crap! Finn Bálor def. Rob Van Dam & Sami Zayn in a Three Way Dance to become the number one contender The moment everyone had been waiting for, especially Kevin Owens who was about to find out who he will defend his ECW World Championship against at the Royal Rumble. Of course, best case scenario for Owens would be his best friend, Sami Zayn claiming the win, but it wasn't to be as he was eliminated first at the hands of Rob Van Dam who put him through a table with the Five-Star Frog Splash. With Zayn out of the picture, it was down to Finn Bálor and Rob Van Dam in an outstanding battle of talent. Near falls and risk-taking moves were no stranger in this one, but it was The Extraordinary Man's complete disregard for his own safety that landed him the win as he launched himself from the top rope down to the floor of the Hammerstein Ballroom to deliver a supersized Coup de Grace to The Whole F'n Show and secure the victory. After the match, Finn Bálor celebrated with the ECW crowd, and even received a pat on the back from RVD himself. The ECW World Champion, Kevin Owens made his way through the curtain and gave a glare to his challenger, raising the title above his head. These two will collide at the Royal Rumble, and it is sure to be nothing short of extreme.

Stone Cold Steve Austin to oversee WWE World Championship contract signing tonight Nobody could have seen it coming. Kurt Angle made his return to WWE Raw and was revealed by Stone Cold as Daniel Bryan's challenger for the WWE World Championship at the Royal Rumble in what should be an instant classic. But before the dream bout can go ahead, a contract must be signed, and The Texas Rattlesnake felt that live on WWE Raw was the perfect place for it to happen. Austin opened the show to announce the contract signing for later in the show, while also revealing that tonight's main event would see Roman Reigns, Randy Orton and The Miz compete in a Triple Threat match after last week's events. But to kick things off, the General Manager announced that a place as one of the ten superstars in the Men's Royal Rumble Match was up for grabs in this opening contest. Apollo Crews def. Shelton Benjamin, Titus O'Neil, Chad Gable, Jason Jordan & Heath Slater in an Over-the-Top-Rope Battle Royal to earn a place in the Men's Royal Rumble Match A unique opportunity was up for grabs as the chance to become one of the 10 superstars representing WWE Raw in the Men's Royal Rumble Match. Six combatants went at it in an Over-the-Top-Rope bout to earn that right, and it was the impressive Apollo Crews that secured the place to potentially make history and go on to challenge for a World Championship. After an incredible showing in this unique contest, could Crews be the dark horse of the Men's Royal Rumble Match and go on to win it all unexpectedly? If anyone has the skill set to do it, it's Apollo Crews with his strength and speed combined. But with 29 other superstars vying for the victory, it will be an uphill struggle for the up and coming superstar. Alexa Bliss def. Sasha Banks Just six days remain before the Women's Royal Rumble Match, and all the momentum will help. The Boss looked to avenge her loss to Becky Lynch two weeks ago with a victory to head into the 30-woman bout with a full head of steam. But she must have forgotten who she was facing, because it's never that simple with Alexa Bliss. With Mickie James at ringside in the corner of her close friend, she played a vital role in Little Miss Bliss' win, tripping Sasha Banks up and allowing Bliss to hook the leg and use the ropes for extra leverage, stealing the victory and the momentum. Alexa and Mickie fled ringside as The Boss looked on in fury, having lost yet another match. Can Sasha Banks bounce back in the Women's Royal Rumble Match or is she destined to stay in this slump? The Revival def. The New Day to retain the WWE Tag Team Championships The Revival didn't have long to bask in their glory as WWE Tag Team Champions before Stone Cold Steve Austin was finding them a pair of challengers, leading to The New Day becoming number one contenders last week with a win over The Usos and The Authors of Pain. Their title opportunity had arrived and the duo of Xavier Woods and Big E went into battle with Dash and Dawson as Kofi Kingston looked on from ringside. Unfortunately, it was going to take more than positivity to defeat The Revival, and thanks to a clever move from Scott Dawson that saw him send Big E flying from the apron into the arms of Kofi Kingston, they were able to deliver the Shatter Machine to an isolated Xavier Woods and retain their WWE Tag Team Championships. Their motto may be "No flips, just fists", but one thing there's plenty of is funny business. Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson left in celebration having successfully defended their gold for the first time. Braun Strowman def. Gentleman Jack Gallagher It's safe to assume that Braun Strowman might have heard what the Big Show said on WCW Nitro. Looking as angry as ever, The Monster Among Men made his way to the ring and annihilated Gentleman Jack Gallagher, planting him with three consecutive running powerslams before finally showing mercy and covering him for the victory. After the match, the big man took to the microphone and directly addressed The World's Largest Athlete. Strowman exclaims that the Big Show may very well be the giant of the wrestling industry, but he is The Monster, and it doesn't matter how big he is, he will always fall to The Monster. He guarantees victory in the Men's Royal Rumble Match and in the process, vows to eliminate the Big Show himself. Not for WWE Raw, not for anybody else, but just because he can. Godzilla and King Kong, eat your heart out. This could be the new clash of the titans. John Cena is interrupted by the Intercontinental Champion Bobby Roode The Cenation Leader announced his entry into the Men's Royal Rumble Match last week, and is as determined as ever to walk out with yet another Rumble win. The former 16-time World Champion came to the ring tonight on WWE Raw to further address his entry into the 30-man spectacular, but before he could even get into his speech, he was cut off by a "glorious" interruption. The Intercontinental Champion, Bobby Roode emerged and immediately began verbally assaulting John Cena, claiming that he is washed up and has no business taking part in this year's Royal Rumble Match. The Glorious One declared that "John Cena" is a forgotten name, and that the new face of WWE is "Bobby Roode". Cena has never been one to let words harm him, and responded with a quip of his own, reminding Roode of one name that is perhaps more memorable than even that of Bobby Roode, and that is "Tyler Bate". The Intercontinental Champion scowled at the mere mention of Bate's name, having been a thorn in his side for weeks. Cena declared that Tyler Bate has got the upper hand of Roode on every single occasion, and it's only a matter of time before his "glorious" reign comes to an end. This infuriated Roode and The Glorious One tols the former World Champion to put his money where his mouth is, leading into an impromptu match. John Cena def. Intercontinental Champion Bobby Roode Disrespecting John Cena is one thing, but underestimating him is another. The Glorious One may regret the night he crossed paths with the 16-time World Champion, as he suffered the fate of an Attitude Adjustment and a loss, being forced to eat his own words. However, it wasn't without some retribution from Roode's rival, Tyler Bate who came to ringside during the bout and became a distraction for the Intercontinental Champion. There's no telling whether Roode would have gone on to win the match has Bate not emerged, but regardless, the tables had been turned and now Roode was receiving a taste of his own medicine, turning into John Cena and being planted into the canvas for the three count. After the bell, John Cena invited Tyler Bate into the ring and raised his hand in celebration, endorsing the young superstar in a show of ultimate respect. The Intercontinental Champion scurried away with his title belt, knowing that sooner or later, Bate would get a fair shot, and when that time comes, it may not be so "glorious" for Bobby Roode. Becky Lynch def. Alicia Fox Alexa Bliss scored a victory of her own earlier in the night, heading into the Women's Royal Rumble with a full head of steam. Becky Lynch was looking to do the same, and did just that with a victory over Alicia Fox, forcing her to submit to the Dis-Arm-Her that has already picked her up victories in the past. After the match, The Man took to the microphone and declared her superiority over the rest of the women's division, vowing to walk away as the first Women's World Champion this Sunday. But as she left the ring and headed up the aisle, she was met by another worthy contender in Ronda Rousey. The Rowdy One and The Man came face-to-face in an intense staredown, knowing full well that come the Royal Rumble, they could be the ones vying for that victory at the end. The Miz def. Roman Reigns & Randy Orton The weeks leading to this match have seen all three of these superstars cross paths, and finally, with the Royal Rumble Match just days away, we got the opportunity to see who could walk into the bout with the most momentum. All three of these former World Champions gave it their all to score the final victory on WWE Raw before the 30-man spectacular, but thanks to his devious ways and a little help from his wife, Maryse at ringside, The Miz was able to deliver a Skull-Crushing Finale to Randy Orton and pick up the victory. The A-Lister celebrated to the dismay of the WWE Universe, but his celebration wasn't long before it was cut short by an unexpected guest - The Big Red Monster, Kane. The big man made his way to the ring, causing The Miz and Maryse to flee through the crowd, leaving Orton and Reigns at the mercy of The Devil's Favourite Demon. He grabbed The Viper by the throat, planting him with a Chokeslam and then turned his attention to The Big Dog, but despite his best efforts, could not fight back and ended up being driven into the canvas with a Tombstone Piledriver. The Big Red Monster had made the message clear. He was coming to the Men's Royal Rumble Match, and he was going to bring with him hellfire and brimstone. WWE World Championship Contract Signing descends into chaos Stone Cold Steve Austin announced this contract signing at the start of the show, hoping to get an official declaration from both men regarding their upcoming clash for the WWE World Championship at the Royal Rumble. Sure enough, both superstars attended and came face-to-face as The Texas Rattlesnake watched over the proceedings. Both men signed on the dotted line and the dream match was confirmed for this Sunday as "The New" Daniel Bryan collides with the Hall of Famer, Kurt Angle. But it wouldn't be a WWE contract signing without some carnage, right? Just as Stone Cold decided to take his leave with the documents in hand, Bryan decided to use his WWE World Championship to crack Angle over the skull, laying the number one contender out. It didn't stop there as he hoisted Angle onto the table and ascended the ropes, delivering a diving headbutt to put The Olympic Gold Medalist through it. Before Austin could get back to the ring and stop the attack, Bryan had already left through the ropes and retreated with his title raised above his head. The match is official, and all of a sudden it just became more personal.

Andrade "Cien" Almas def. Seth Rollins After getting caught up in the title picture over the last few weeks, these two highly talented athletes went head-to-head for the first time to kick off WCW Nitro. With the Men's Royal Rumble Match just a few days away. a victory would mean a surge of momentum for the winner, and after a hard-fought battle that had the crowd on the edge of their seats, it was El Idolo that was able to shock the world and score the victory with his signature Hammerlock DDT on The Kingslayer. Zelina Vega may have played a small part, distracting Rollins momentarily, but regardless, Almas holds a victory over The Architect, and that could mean big things for the up and coming competitor. Hideo Itami def. Cedric Alexander The heinous attack on Mustafa Ali last week showed an all-new side to Hideo Itami after losing the WCW Cruiserweight Championship Match. The hard-hitting cruiserweight laid out the new title holder, rendering him injured and unable to appear on this week's episode. Itami, however, took to the ring to compete, once again displaying his aggression with a victory over Cedric Alexander, courtesy of a Go To Sleep. After the bell, The International Sensation grabbed a microphone and began screaming in Japanese, the commentary team roughly translating it as a warning to the cruiserweight division. Hideo Itami has made himself very clear. The War Raiders def. The Bar With the tag team divisions across all three brands now heating up - the WWE Tag Team Champions being decided, and the ECW Tag Team Champions being crowned this week - WCW Nitro was looking to join the fight and moments before this intense contest, General Manager, Ric Flair revealed that next week, there would be a Fatal 4-Way Tag Team Match to crown the first WCW Tag Team Champions, and two of the teams involved would be The War Raiders and The Bar. This week, they squared off against one another and it was Hanson and Rowe that walked out with the victory, isolating Cesaro and planting him with The Fallout. The War Raiders stood tall over their opponents looking strong heading into next week's title opportunity. Kairi Sane crashes Carmella's Royal Rumble prediction Carmella has never been one to shy away from self-promotion, and she came to the ring to do just that. The Princess of Staten Island claimed that she would walk out of the Women's Royal Rumble Match as the Women's World Champion, calling herself the "odds-on favourite". With her promise, she vowed that nobody could possibly outshine the diamond that she is, and completely dismissed the rest of the women's locker room. However, her egotistical rant was cut short by the arrival of another up-and-coming superstar, Kairi Sane. The Pirate Princess made her debut on WCW Nitro, taking down Carmella and delivering her Insane Elbow to her heart. Carmella quickly retreated as Sane stood tall, showing her that she isn't the only one worthy of walking away with the victory this Sunday. Rey Mysterio def. Big Show via Countout The World's Largest Athlete attacked Rey Mysterio two weeks ago, completely out of the blue. Tonight, Rey Mysterio returned for his measure of revenge on the giant, never one to back down from the larger adversary. Of course, it's always a mismatch when these two collide, but The Master of the 619 always finds a way to overcome the odds, and tonight was no different. The masked luchadore sent Big Show to the outside and leapt from the top to keep the big man down, but re-entered the ring and prevented the giant from following him with a dropkick, resulting in the referee counting to ten. The enraged Big Show entered the ring to get his hands on his much smaller opponent, only for Mysterio to escape with a smile on his face and the crowd behind him. He may have got one over on The World's Largest Athlete tonight, but come the Royal Rumble, it could be a different story. Samoa Joe says he will cripple AJ Styles at the Royal Rumble It's only a few days until Samoa Joe gets his shot at the WCW World Championship against AJ Styles at the Royal Rumble, and The Destroyer had a few harsh words for his long-time rival. Appearing on screen, the number one contender made a promise that not only would he walk out as the new WCW World Champion - which he believes should have been his in the first place - but he will cripple The Phenomenal One in the center of the ring. He isn't just out to take the title, but to make sure AJ Styles never sets foot in a wrestling ring ever again. The harrowing words of The Destroyer left many feeling uncomfortable as he stormed off the scene. Will The Samoan Submission Machine leave Styles laying as he says he will this Sunday? Naomi def. Asuka The ongoing rivalry between Asuka and Charlotte Flair continued to boil over with the Women's Royal Rumble just days away. The Queen made her presence felt in Asuka's bout with Naomi, acting as a distraction to cost The Empress of Tomorrow the match, allowing Naomi to roll her up for a shocking victory, putting her in good stead heading into the 30-women spectacular. After the match, an intense stare-down between The Queen and The Empress took place, perhaps a sign of things to come in the Royal Rumble Match. Will these two dominant females cross paths this Sunday? Could we be looking at the winner of the bout before our very eyes? The Good Brothers def. The Undisputed ERA Earlier in the night, we saw The War Raiders defeat The Bar in a small preview of next week's Fatal 4-Way Tag Team bout for the WCW Tag Team Championships. This was match number two, the other half of that highly anticipated match. The rivalry between Shinsuke Nakamura, The Good Brothers and The Undisputed ERA came to a head last week in a Six-Man Tag Team Match, but tonight it was about the two teams involved in next week's contest, and it was Gallows and Anderson that walked away with the victory with The King of Strong Style in their corner. Hitting the Magic Killer on Kyle O'Reilly, they scored the win and will go onto next week's match with a full head of steam. Shinsuke Nakamura and the WCW United States Champion, Adam Cole will participate in the Men's Royal Rumble Match this Sunday. Will the result of this match play a part in their own momentum? The Velveteen Dream says he will overcome the odds this Sunday He may have been given a punishment for his recent rebellious behaviour, forced to enter the Men's Royal Rumble Match at number one, but it hadn't dampened the ego of The Velveteen Dream whatsoever. The flamboyant superstar appeared to declare superiority over the entire locker room, and promised to do what everyone believes to be a mountainous task, winning the Royal Rumble Match from the opening bell. The Dream vowed to leave WCW Nitro in the dust when he wins the match, stating that it has never been good enough to host such a talent like himself, saying he intends to go to WWE Raw where the magic can be appreciated. And he ended his speech with a direct message to General Manager, Ric Flair, shockingly declaring himself "The New Nature Boy", and closing his segment with a "Woo!". Disrespect at its finest. WCW World Champion AJ Styles def. Dolph Ziggler After the threats from Samoa Joe earlier in the night, it had to be playing on the mind of the WCW World Champion. But as the fighting superstar he is, AJ Styles continued to thrill in the main event against a game Dolph Ziggler. And despite the presence of Ziggler's ally, Drew McIntyre at ringside, The Phenomenal One was able to pick up the victory with a Phenomenal Forearm to head into the Royal Rumble event with momentum on his side. However, his victory was overshadowed by the arrival of his arch-rival who blindsided the Champion from behind, viciously assaulting the WCW World Champion just moments after his win. The Destroyer went on to drive Styles head-first into the ringpost, busting him wide open and leaving him in a heap on the outside. The Samoan Submission Machine picked up and raised the WCW World Championship above his head bellowing "This belongs to me!" as the crowd expressed their distaste. Joe had made the final move, and it doesn't look good for The Phenomenal One.

Sami Zayn def. Rob Van Dam It was Finn Bálor who came out on top last week to become the number one contender for the ECW World Championship, leaving Rob Van Dam and Sami Zayn behind. While both extremists will enter the Royal Rumble Match, they still had unfinished business with each other and kicked off this week's edition of ECW. The former World Champion, RVD took the fight to The Underdog of the Underground in a hard-hitting bout, but using his wits, Zayn was able to avoid a Five-Star Frog Splash, and followed it up by delivering a low blow to The Whole F'n Show before shoving him into the corner and connecting with a Helluva Kick for the victory. Scoring the win, Zayn not only gained some momentum for himself heading into the Men's Royal Rumble Match, but perhaps for his best friend, Kevin Owens as well as he goes on to defend the ECW World Championship against Finn Bálor this Sunday. But tonight, Owens and Bálor will come face-to-face in an extreme confrontation. Rusev def. Zack Ryder The Bulgarian Brute and his Rusev Day entourage made their way to the ring this week as he declared his entry into the Men's Royal Rumble Match. After Aiden English's show of support for his ally, the trio were interrupted by the arrival of Zack Ryder who looked to bring Rusev Day to an end and take his place in the match instead. An impromptu bout began, and it seemed that Ryder's efforts were for nought as Rusev destroyed his adversary, taking The Long Island Iced-Z down with a Machka Kick, and finished him off with The Accolade. Rusev, Aiden English and Lana stood tall in the center of the ring as they led a chant of "Rusev Day", one that we could very well be hearing this Sunday. The Bludgeon Brothers def. The Dudley Boyz to become the ECW Tag Team Champions The Dudley Boyz shocked the world when they returned to ECW last week, and Paul Heyman topped the moment off by announcing that they would be the team to face The Bludgeon Brothers to crown the first ECW Tag Team Champions. No team had been able to conquer the destructive force of Harper and Rowan, and if anyone could do it, it was going to be The Dudleyz. However, even the legendary team could not overcome the brutal beating of these two barbarian extremists. The Bludgeons were able to beat Bubba and D-Von at their own game, simultaneously putting them through tables with Harper scoring the pinfall on D-Von. The undefeated duo have reached the top of the mountain, capturing the ECW Tag team Championships, even defeating the Hall of Fame duo in the process. The question appears to have been answered - nobody can stop The Bludgeon Brothers. The Riott Squad attack Natalya and Dana Brooke While they were tag team partners last week, Natalya and Dana Brooke were scheduled to go head-to-head with the Women's Royal Rumble just around the corner. However, before the two close friends could even begin their bout, they were attacked from out of nowhere by The Riott Squad. The devastating trio unleashed a heinous attack on the two extremists who defeated them in tag team action last week, sending a message to everyone in the Women's Royal Rumble. Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan stood tall over Natalya on the outside looking out into the crowd with grins on their faces. Lars Sullivan def. Goldust Drew Gulak's own personal monster, Lars Sullivan once again took to the ring to show how destructive he can be. This week, The Freak dismantled the iconic Goldust, beating him with a Singapore cane throughout the match and finally finishing him off with a Freak Accident. Gulak took to the microphone to announce his monster's entry into the Royal Rumble Match, and warned anyone who would step in his way to being the last man standing. But one man who wasn't intimidated by The Freak was Rhyno. The Man Beast hit the ring and came face-to-face with Sullivan in an intense stare down that had the ECW crowd going wild. Will these two cross paths in the Men's Royal Rumble Match? Johnny Gargano def. Jeff Hardy The Charasmatic Enigma made his return to ECW last week after suffering a minor injury at the hands of Dean Ambrose. Hardy made a beeline for The Lunatic Fringe and got a measure of revenge, taking to the skies. Jeff Hardy returned to in-ring competition this week just days before the Royal Rumble, taking on Johnny Gargano in a hard fought battle. Johnny Wrestling refused to go down as always, but when he was hit with a Twist of Fate, it looked to be all over for the young extremist. However, lurking in the shadows was Dean Ambrose who came to the ring and dropped Jeff Hardy with a Dirty Deeds, allowing Gargano to pick up the victory. The Lunatic Fringe stood over Hardy with a psychotic stare, squatting down next to him and telling him he would be dealt with at the Royal Rumble. Bray Wyatt def. Pete Dunne There hasn't been much success for The Bruiserweight since joining ECW, despite continuing to put on incredible displays against various opponents. Tonight unfortunately continued his streak of bad luck as he came into contact with The Eater of Worlds, Bray Wyatt. The Reaper made his arrival in The Land of Extreme just two weeks ago and in the process sent a bone-chilling message to the entire locker room. Bray Wyatt used Pete Dunne as his sacrificial lamb this week, putting the British brawler away with a Sister Abigail to end the match. He began to shout after the bell, informing everyone that he would bring "sweet release" to the other 29 men in the Royal Rumble Match, vowing to take them to the promise land. Wyatt seems more deranged and deluded than ever, and it doesn't bode well for the rest of the roster. Eric Young def. Aleister Black in a First Blood Match The ongoing rivalry between Eric Young's SAnitY and Aleister Black had reached the ultimate boiling point, and after a tag team bout last week, this match was agreed between the two extremists as a First Blood Match. This stipulation couldn't be more barbaric with the winner being the one to bust their opponent open. Initially, Killian Dain and Alexander Wolfe were absent from ringside, Young and Black wanting this to be between the two of them. Carnage followed and all hell had broke loose with weapons and fists flying everywhere. SAnitY eventually arrived at ringside to act as distraction to Black, jumping onto the ring apron only for The Dutch Destroyer to take both of them down with a double dropkick. But Young had found an opening and grabbed a baseball bat from ringside which had been dropped by Killian Dain, and used it to crack open the skull of his adversary, winning the match. SAnitY stood over the bloodied Black in victory, having finally defeated the thorn in their side. Can Aleister Black bounce back from this in the Royal Rumble Match, or has he been truly beaten once and for all? Finn Bálor and Kevin Owens' confrontation goes to the extreme This Sunday, Finn Bálor will challenge Kevin Owens for the ECW World Championship. Tonight, the pair came face-to-face, man-to-man without anyone else in their corners, for a confrontation to set the stage. The Prizefighter was quick to downplay Bálor's ability, calling him a "glorified stuntman" and not worthy of being ECW World Champion. But The Extraordinary Man begged to differ, stating that he is destined to become World Champion, and he believes this Sunday will be his moment. After a short exchange of words, things soon became physical as Owens attack Bálor from out of nowhere, looking to get the upper hand heading into their title match. But the tables turned and Bálor was able to take control, eventually leading to the fight rumbling up the aisle towards the entrance curtain where Finn Bálor grabbed a ladder that had been used to construct tonight's stage. Setting it up, he climbed and lunged himself into the air onto an unsuspecting Kevin Owens. "Holy crap!" chants echoed through the arena as both men lay motionless on the concrete floor, officials rushing out to the aid of the extremists. The sound of "ECW!" chants closed out the show as Bálor slowly stood on his feet with the help of two officials, raising his hand to the delight of the hardcore faithful.

Loving these screenshots! They always capture the action perfectly, and it's obvious that a lot of care and thought goes into them. I enjoy every new post in this thread.
I don't suppose you'd consider putting your screenshots in spoiler tags? With the sheer amount of screenshots in this thread already, it takes a short while to load each image. It would make it easier for me as a viewer to open the spoiler tags for a particular show to instantly see the new screenshots, rather than having to wait to load the entire page.

AJ Styles def. Samoa Joe to retain the WCW World Championship What better way to kick off this historic event than with the WCW World Championship bout between two arch-rivals that know each other very well? The Phenomenal One and The Samoan Submission Machine stood toe-to-toe on perhaps the biggest stage that they ever have and went hell for leather all in the name of WCW Nitro's top prize. The familiar foes threw everything they had at the other, Samoa Joe even pulling out a cannonball senton over the ropes to take down Styles. The WCW World Champion battled back and was able to hit not one, but two Phenomenal Forearms on his challenger, only for Joe to somehow kick out. Ultimately, after escaping the Coquina Clutch, AJ Styles was able to deliver his patented Styles Clash to put away his bitter enemy and retain the big gold belt. The Phenomenal One stood tall in front of a jam-packed crowd in victory, sending Samoa Joe back to the locker room in a fit of rage. What a way to start the night! Finn Bálor def. Kevin Owens to become the new ECW World Champion It was time to take this event to the extreme! Finn Bálor and Kevin Owens had been at each other's throats for weeks since the rebirth of ECW, and tonight it came to a head as The Extraordinary Man finally got the opportunity to become the new ECW World Champion. The Prizefighter was unwilling to let it go that easy, vowing to be Champion forever, and it almost looked as if he would be off to a good start to that claim as he sent Bálor crashing through a table with a powerbomb to the outside, taking advantage of the matches ECW rules. Bálor took to the skies as we know he can to rebound and took Owens down with an unbelievable somersault plancha. But after introducing a ladder as a means of revenge from this past week's edition of ECW, it came back to bite Kevin Owens as he ended up on the wrong end of the steel and was dropped to the canvas, allowing Bálor to ascend the rungs and deliver a jaw-dropping Coup de Grace to claim the victory and the ECW World Championship. ECW - welcome to The Bálor Club! Becky Lynch wins the Women's Royal Rumble to become the new Women's World Champion The female superstars and extremists had been anticipating this night for weeks, eager to make their big stamp on the industry with a historic victory in this Women's Royal Rumble Match to crown the first Women's World Champion. Thirty women, only one winner, and it all comes down to this. The monumental bout began with entrants number one and two which just so happened to be WWE Raw's Sasha Banks, and WCW Nitro's Charlotte Flair. The two former Women's Champions went head-to-head for the firsty ninety seconds before being joined by an array of women from across all three brands. Throughout the match, fresh faces were revealed, all amazingly signed under Paul Heyman's ECW banner. The likes of Bianca Belair, Candice LeRae and Dakota Kai all made their debuts in the unique contest as members of The Land of Extreme, referring back to Paul Heyman's claims of "having something up his sleeve" these past couple of weeks. But it didn't stop there as Shayna Baszler also revealed herself as an extremist, coming face-to-face with her WWE counterpart - Ronda Rousey. To add some legendary magic to the match, Hall of Famers Trish Stratus and Lita joined the cast, eliminating The IIconics in an unforgettable moment. The final four came down to WWE Raw's Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch, and WCW Nitro's Charlotte Flair and Asuka. The Queen was able to throw over the woman who joined her at the start, The Boss, ending her impressive stint. But moments after dumping Banks over the ropes, Charlotte found herself sent crashing down behind her thanks to The Man. Lynch and Asuka went toe-to-toe for the ultimate victory, and when it came down to it, the fiery redhead was the one who walked away with the prestigious prize, dumping The Empress over the ropes with a Bexploder Suplex. The Man had claimed the first Women's World Championship for herself and WWE Raw, and history had been made in the process. For the full entry and elimination listings, see the end of the results post. "The New" Daniel Bryan def. Kurt Angle to retain the WWE World Championship A dream match for any true wrestling fan, Daniel Bryan and Kurt Angle put on a clinic in front of a sold-out crowd. The WWE World Champion continued to frustrate the WWE Universe by disregarding their opinions, and the crowd were solely behind The Olympic Hero. But all other elements aside, this match was nothing short of a classic, and one that will be remember for many years to come. Angle kicked things off by completely tearing apart any doubts that people may have had over his ability to still go with the best, unleashing his signature offence on "The New" Daniel Bryan, throwing him around the ring with suplex after suplex, taking Bryan by surprise. With any sign of ring rust non-existent, Angle looked to put away his adversary quickly with an Ankle Lock, only for Bryan to escape and return the offence, eventually hitting a suicide dive on The Wrestling Machine to regain control. As Bryan became more confident with his advantage, he perhaps lost focus somewhat as the crowd began chanting "Yes!" to the rage of the WWE World Champion. The momentary distraction allowed Angle to battle back and plant him with an Angle Slam, coming within a split second of a three count. Looking to put an end to the bout, Angle once again grabbed the ankle and tried to apply his signature hold, but Bryan's wherewithal allowed him to roll through and apply his own submission - now reverted to being called the LeBelle Lock - and after what seemed like an eternity of struggle, Kurt Angle had alternative but to submit. "The New" Daniel Bryan had come out on top of this dream collision and is still the WWE World Champion. Showing little respect, Bryan gave a kick to Angle's face as he walked past and out of the ring, throwing any honour this match may have had out of the window. Is this the last we have seen of Kurt Angle? Triple H returns to make huge announcement concerning the Men's Royal Rumble Match The Game has been absent since the new era began, and many have wondered when he would emerge. Tonight was that night, as he returned in authoritative form. Triple H took to the ring and thanked the fans for making this new era a success thus far, and went on to promise even bigger and better things in the months to come. However, the reason he had returned tonight was not only to show his appreciation on behalf of the company, but to make an announcement regarding the Men's Royal Rumble Match. The Game revealed that not only will tonight's winner be granted a World Championship shot of their choosing, but they will also earn their respective brand a reward. What is that reward, you ask? A brand-exclusive pay-per-view event next month! The superstar who outlasts 29 other men will be able to choose a World Championship to challenge for, as well as earning their brand the right to host its own exclusive pay-per-view. Everything is at stake in this monumental bout, and that match... is up next! Drew McIntyre wins the Men's Royal Rumble to earn a future World Championship Match With the added element of a brand-exclusive pay-per-view as announced by Triple H just moments before the opening bell, all of a sudden this already high-reward match was taken to the next level. The number one entrant was already known thanks to WCW Nitro General Manager, Ric Flair as he awarded (or perhaps more like punished) The Velveteen Dream with the dreaded spot, and he was joined at number two by ECW's Rob Van Dam. They were joined by various superstars every ninety seconds with many familiar faces eager to earn their place in the history books. The Big Red Monster, Kane arrived from the depths of hell, leaving carnage in his path, eliminating Apollo Crews, Sami Zayn and Dolph Ziggler in the process. But The Devil's Favourite Demon was soon confronted by another giant in the Big Show. In a clash of the titans, the two went back and forth as the rest of the competitors stayed well out of the way. And as if this Godzilla and King Kong-like collision wasn't enough, here came a third gargantuan - Braun Strowman. The big man shocked the world by eliminating both Kane and the Big Show by himself, standing tall as the lone monster in the match. But he was later greeted by another monster, ECW's monster - Lars Sullivan, who sent The Monster Among Men over and out to the surprise of the crowd. The ongoing rivalry between Bobby Roode and Tyler Bate over the Intercontinental Championship came into play as the pair entered the match, later joined by John Cena who had also played a role in this back and forth battle. Shockingly, The Glorious One dumped John Cena over the ropes, sending the former World Champion back to the locker room without his victory that he desired so much. Meanwhile, on ECW's side, Dean Ambrose entered the match, only to be eliminated by his rival, Jeff Hardy in an act of revenge as The Charismatic Enigma made a beeline for The Lunatic Fringe, sending both Ambrose and himself out to the floor, showing that getting his hands on the man who continues to assault him was more important. Despite an incredible showing from number one, The Velveteen Dream was sent over the ropes by fellow WCW Nitro superstar, Seth Rollins with a superkick, crushing The Dream's own dreams of leaving WCW Nitro for "greener pastures". What will he have to say come this week on Nitro? The final four came down to WCW Nitro's Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre, WWE Raw's Roman Reigns and ECW's Lars Sullivan. Showing their intelligence, Rollins, McIntyre and Reigns united to take out The Freak, eliminating Sullivan from the match. This alliance was short-lived as McIntyre tossed The Architect over and out, leaving himself and The Big Dog as the final two. After a true battle to be the last man standing, the fight ended up on the ring apron and as both men teetered on the edge, The Sinister Scot was the one to drop back into the ring and deliver a Claymore kick, sending Reigns to the floor and securing the victory! As a result, WCW Nitro will receive its own brand-exclusive pay-per-view next month, but most importantly, Drew McIntyre holds the right to challenge a World Champion of his choosing. The Scot Terminator stands at the top of the mountain as the last man standing, and the question is now - who will he choose to face for their prestigious World Championship? For the full entry and elimination listings, see the end of the results post. Absolution interrupt Becky Lynch's Championship address Ironically, The Man won the Women's Royal Rumble Match and captured the Women's World Championship in the process, outlasting 29 other female superstars in a blockbuster bout. The Irish superstar took to the ring to open up WWE Raw with a victory address, showing off her newly won title belt to the world. But her victory was not well-received by some of the other superstars who came up short, namely Paige. Along with Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose - known collectively as Absolution - she interrupted Becky and stated that she is a poor representation of women's wrestling, and the only person who should truly be the poster-child of the division is Paige. The Man didn't back down from the scathing remarks and told Paige to put her money where her mouth is, but instead of stepping up herself, The Raven-Haired Renegade sent her allies in instead. Somehow, Becky managed to battle back and send Deville and Mandy packing, before it was announced by General Manager, Stone Cold Steve Austin that Paige would indeed take on Becky Lynch tonight on WWE Raw. The new Women's World Champion is in action - tonight! Tyler Bate def. Bobby Roode to become the new Intercontinental Champion The Glorious One shocked the world in the Men's Royal Rumble Match when he dumped John Cena over the ropes and cut the former 16-time World Champions Rumble stint short. Of course, Roode's ego wouldn't allow him to continue without gloating and he apparently talked about nothing else following the historic event. Tonight, Roode was made to defend his Intercontinental Championship against ongoing rival, Tyler Bate and looked to be once again finding a way out of the match via countout. However, much to Roode's horror, John Cena emerged to cut off Roode's escape path, sending him back to the ring where Tyler Bate was able to take advantage and connect with the Tyler Driver '97 for an upset victory, claiming the title for himself. After the match, Cena embraced the new Champion and raised his hand on the ramp as Roode looked on in a fit of rage. The Glorious One may think twice before running his mouth now, but it may have also only made him more determined to prove his dominance over John Cena. Stone Cold informs Daniel Bryan that his next challenger will be found in tonight's main event "The New" Daniel Bryan was able to overcome the Hall of Fame challenge from Kurt Angle at the Royal Rumble, retaining his WWE World Championship via submission. But there's no rest for the wicked in this line of work, and Stone Cold Steve Austin pulled Bryan aside backstage to inform him that his next challenger will be determined in a Fatal 4-Way main event tonight. Randy Orton, The Miz, Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman will go at it for the right to face Daniel Bryan for the WWE World Championship. Bryan was less than pleased, but Austin simply reminded him that that's the bottom line, cos Stone Cold said so. Kurt Angle def. Jason Jordan Everyone's heard of "tough love", but this takes the cake. The WWE Universe went wild as Hall of Famer, Kurt Angle made his way to the ring to compete despite his loss at the Royal Rumble to Daniel Bryan. And it just so happens that his opponent was none other than his son, Jason Jordan. Now, every child wants to make their parents proud, but it seems that Jordan has put his own ego before anyone else as of late, and Kurt Angle was about to teach him a lesson in respect. In the ultimate showing of disrespect, however, Jordan slapped his own father across the face before the ring bell, calling him "an embarrassment" to the family. This didn't sit well with The Wrestling Machine who was already ticked off from his loss just 24 hours prior. He unleashed his frustration on his offspring, dominating the entire match and planting him with an Angle Slam. But it didn't end there as Angle applied the Ankle Lock and forced his son into submission, showing the intensity that is synonymous with The Olympic Hero. Angle celebrated his victory with the WWE Universe and it appeared that his WWE World Championship bout wasn't just a one-time deal, and The Wrestling Machine is apparently here to stay. Heavy Machinery def. WWE Tag Team Champions The Revival in an open challenge Feeling confident, The Revival took to the ring with their WWE Tag Team Championships in hand, looking to gloat about their recent success, claiming to have overcome the conspiracies and finally reached the top where they belong. Scott Dawson declared that they are the greatest tag team in wrestling history, and promised that they would be WWE Tag Team Champions for years and years to come. Dash Wilder followed this up by stating that they would back up their claims tonight by issuing an open challenge to any tag team in the back - in a non-title bout. Of course there was a catch, but nonetheless, this was an opportunity for any team, and it was answered by a brand new duo in Heavy Machinery. And to the surprise of everyone, they defeated the WWE Tag Team Champions in an impressive display, finishing Dash Wilder off with The Compactor and scoring a non-title win over the reigning title holders. With their titles clutched to their chests, The Revival retreated as Otis Dozovic and Tucker Knight celebrated, knowing that they had just made a name for themselves here on WWE Raw. The Revival better watch out. Women's World Champion Becky Lynch def. Paige; Sasha Banks and Bayley make the save Stemming from the top of the show, this match was made by Stone Cold Steve Austin to force Paige to put her money where her mouth is. Unfortunately, she didn't come alone and by her side were Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose to complete the Absolution trio. The Man fought valiantly throughout the match, despite the numbers game coming into play on more than one occasion, Deville and Rose acting as distractions for the Women's World Champion. But when they got too involved, it seems that Becky Lynch had her own backup whether she knew it or not - Sasha Banks and Bayley. The Boss 'n' Hug Connection arrived at ringside and engaged in a brawl with Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose, which attracted Paige's attention in the ring. Lynch capitalised and locked her in the Dis-Arm-Her, forcing her to submit. After the match, Banks and Bayley joined Becky in the ring and watched as Absolution retreated. The Women's World Champion looked at both of her allies and smiled as Michael Cole noted that we have witnessed the reunion of 3-out-of-4 of the Four Horsewomen. The playing field has been levelled and Absolution need to seriously rethink their actions. Mike & Maria Kanellis arrive on WWE Raw Everyone enjoys a good love story, but these two may take it a tad too far. The lovebirds made their debut on WWE Raw, heading to the ring as the WWE Universe were unsure what to make of the couple. However, it quickly became clear as The Kanellises went on to talk about their relationship over and over and over again, claiming that nobody will ever know the love that they have for each other, calling the WWE Universe "unlovable". Mike Kanellis declared that he and his wife are here to be the most dominant power couple in history, and states that he will make his in-ring debut next week. Maria supports her husband and vows that he will dominate the roster and become the Champion he deserves to be. They closed the moment with an uncomfortably long kiss that had many cringing, and they left hand in hand to boos from the crowd. Who will Mike Kanellis take on when he debuts next week on WWE Raw? Bobby Lashley def. Apollo Crews The All Mighty hadn't been quite as mighty as he'd hoped these last few weeks, coming up short on several occasions and entering somewhat of a slump. This week though, he entered the arena with an accomplice in new WWE Raw talent, Lio Rush. The cruiserweight accompanied Bobby Lashley to ringside for his upcoming bout with Apollo Crews, and his presence seemed to light a fire under the former United States Champion. Lashley decimated Crews, finishing him off with a thunderous Dominator for the victory. After the match, Lio Rush grabbed a microphone and declared that Bobby Lashley is the man to beat, and the future of the business. Offering his support to The All Mighty, Rush declares tonight as the start of "a new era within the new era", vowing that Bobby Lashley will dominate the competition and stand tall over everyone in his path. "All hail The All Mighty, Bobby Lashley!" he bellowed to boos from the WWE crowd. Lashley is back on the right track, with Lio Rush at his side. Ronda Rousey def. Mickie James The intense confrontation between Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler during the Women's Royal Rumble Match had everybody talking, but somebody it didn't quite impress was Alexa Bliss. She and Mickie James made their way to the ring to declare the Women's Royal Rumble an embarrassment, claiming that Becky Lynch didn't deserve to win, and neither did anyone else. Little Miss Bliss quickly tightened her lip as Ronda Rousey made her way to the ring and declared that she wasn't about to let last night's match get the better of her, and vowed to capture the Women's World Championship one way or another. Initially challenging Bliss to a match, she instead nominated her close friend, Mickie James to take her place, much to her reluctance. The Rowdy One was able to submit the former Women's Champion with the Armbar and looked out to Bliss with a warning that she could be next. The Most Dangerous Woman on the Planet is out to make a statement, and it looks like nobody will be able to stand in her way. Roman Reigns def. Braun Strowman, Randy Orton & The Miz to become number one contender to the WWE World Championship In this match created by Stone Cold Steve Austin, four superstars went all in to earn the right to challenge Daniel Bryan for the WWE World Championship next, and they threw all caution to the wind in order to get there. Randy Orton initially took control, hitting an RKO on everyone in sight, but he was unable to secure a victory after wrongly opting to try and pin The Monster Among Men. Strowman soon began to dominate and threw his opponents around the ring like children as he aimed to reach his ultimate goal of becoming the WWE World Champion. However, his three adversaries saw the common threat and momentarily united to send Strowman crashing through a table at ringside with a Shield-esque powerbomb. With the three superstars left to battle it out, The Miz came within seconds of earning the unique opportunity after hitting Reigns with a Skull-Crushing Finale, only for The Viper to break up the count and hit yet another RKO on The A-Lister. The Big Dog saw the opening, however, and struck with a Spear, grounding the former World Champion and picking up the win for himself. Now that he had become the number one contender, Reigns looked to the crowd and gave them an emotional nod as his hand was raised. But his moment of glory was crashed by the arrival of the man himself, "The New" Daniel Bryan. The WWE World Champion confronted his newly appointed challenger and the two glared into each others eyes with an intense atmosphere surrounding them. The date has yet to be set, but it will soon be upon us when The Big Dog and The GOAT go head-to-head in what is sure to be a battle for the ages.
