RVD signed to do a upcoming show and say's he'll be sticking around for a while with the company. I like RVD but didn't the WWE deny him a contract because he couldn't pass the concussion testing they have? If this is true then Impact should not be signing him as well. I get the whole he should be able to make money, but what are the chances that RVD will really screw himself up more then he is?

RVD and Rey came into the restaurant I work at last year. 100% true story, but RVD struggles with his sight. He had thick glasses on and almost walked into a pillar. Not sure what relevance it has to this, but yeah.

RVD has had bad eye site for basically his whole career. He always wore contacts when wrestling,I am sure if his eyesight was seriously bad that a company like IMPACT even if they where desperate wouldn't sign him.
If his health is good enough this is a solid signing for IMPACT and also for RVD.He's pushing 50 now and clearly doesn't want nor probably could do a full time schedule and working for IMPACT where he does maybe tops 25 to 30 dates in a year is perfect.Even with those little amount of dates they'll probably not have him wrestle every day either.
This adds even past his prime some name value to IMPACT and should help offset if they do indeed lose Eli Drake and the Lucha Bros.
RVD,Morrison,Cage,Cross,Moose,Edwards,Callihan,Swann...ect not as great as TNA in its hay day but also not terrible and some interesting talents to be the bulk of your promotion.

Having bad eye sight is common in wrestling.
Stan Hansen was blind as a bat without his glasses, which is why he was stiff. It wasn't that he wanted to be stiff, he just wanted to make sure the moves connected since he couldn't see.
RVD is the same way. A lot of wrestlers have said RVD is 'snug' but it's only because he can't see jack either.
As for RVD being with Impact?? It is good. The problem with Impact Wrestling is that these guys will come work for the company for about three months and then leave. To make an 'impact' they have to keep bigger name talent for long periods of time.

I never knew he had bad eyes. Is that why he does the Shawn Michaels face so well? I really like RVD.

he's the most athletically gifted wrestler i think i've ever seen in a ring imo. simply put, i don't see people do much rvd couldn't do, but rvd did a lot that only he can.
he seemed less motivated during his last wwe run and admitted to as much, but when you're feuding with del rio in some lame storyline who can blame him for hating the stagnancy of the current wwe product. let's hope impact motivates him moreso.

They need more established stars to help get the newer guys over. Will also remove the horrible indie feel the promotion has, good move.

Well watching him last night in a ten minute or so match he still looked to be in pretty good shape and moved around in the ring pretty well. Not prime RVD but good and continuing his career won't damage the image of him like other old timers that held on for far to long like Taker,Kane,Hogan,Flair,Triple H...ect
Depending on how long he's back in IMPACT I really hope we get to see a feud and series of matches against Morrison & Swann(lets just say he's only signed for six month to go threw Bound for Glory these are the two feuds that I think they should book)

Why would he go to Impact when they are a sinking ship?

Why would he go to Impact when they are a sinking ship? pals have been casually passing through impact in the last year - raven and dreamer for example, possibly due to Cyrus old ECW days. also, he definetly has 100% creative decision in his character and isn’t going to stick around if he gets stuck in some dead end rivalry like his Del Rio feud I wouldn’t be surprised if sabu shows up in one form or another soon.

RVD does have bad eyesight I remember him saying he's accidently kicked a lot of guys in the face because he didn't want his kicks to look crap on TV and figured he would rather get too close than too far away lol
Stan Hansen was registered blind when he wrestled too and they allowed him to use that monsterous lariat as a finisher!
Meh I'm glad RVD is back on my screen who are we to say you can't wrestle anymore csuse its bad for you. He said he wrestles for fun now and only does maybe 5 dates a year recently. So why not do 5 dates with impact and get a nice pay check.
