Why do people genuinely think online petitions actually mean something? Gotta be a bit brain dead to believe that.
Unlike the previous troll on this post though, I am a massive fan of Retros and gutted they are on hiatus. But you just gotta remain positive and trust it is a hiatus where they will be back (hopefully soon) because Mattel is missing a massive market here if not.

Yeah, I think we all know these petitions are worthless. But i signed it, nonetheless. I'm mostly upset because this was completely unexpected. Not only that but I was literally counting down the days until we finally got to see who was in series 11 and 12! Just a huge, huge blow for me. Plus, if it wasnt for Retros then I never would have gotten back into collecting these at all. It all started one day when I saw a KO Retro at Walmart on clearance for $2. It reminded me of my old Hasbros so i said "what the heck" and got it. Then I had to have Warrior and Undertaker. Ordered them and decided I might as well get the whole set. Then series 2 came out, everything grew from there.

I think what a lot of collectors dislike is the way Mattel handled the "hiatus" news. They knew the backlash they would get if they formally announced it at their panel. Basically no one had the decency to be upfront about it. Hopefully the line is back sooner, rather than never.

Basically no one had the balls to be upfront about it. Hopefully the line is back sooner, rather than never. I agree. The same applies to Jeff Jarrett and especially Hulk Hogan status.

Absolutely, just say that they can't make those guys right now but 'you never know in the future".

No more retros. Store exclusives still happening. Mattel at Sdcc was a big let down for me this year. But hey cena coming out strong with 2 new elites. That are the exact same as his elite 64 except a weird new head scan

Absolutely, just say that they can't make those guys right now but 'you never know in the future". That's one of my biggest problems with Mattel. Why can't they just be up front with us? I've been a collector for about a year and a half and it's already driving me crazy. Can't even how imagine some of you guys feel who have been collecting for years and years. Having your favorite lines canceled over and over again.

They should have made female retro figures. People would have bought them, more than ANOTHER new day set. Oh well.

The Retros seem to be selling like crazy on RSC. Diesel is sold out, now Macho Man Series 9 is gone. I better go grab a couple before more go.

Whether they re-boot this line later on or not, Series 9 and 10 (and in a lot of cases seasons 4, 5, 6, and 8) definitely won't be hitting retail. I'm guessing those ones will end up being extremely rare after some time. Especially ones like Macho Man, JYD, Diesel, and Iron Sheik.

I would have loved to get Becky or Ronda from the current roster or Liz/Sherri/Luna to compliment our Hasbros. Kind of a serious shame we didn’t get at least one woman. I was extremely curious how a female in this style would turn out.

It’s essentially Basic 10 Ryder only with kickpads. I know he’s happy he got a figure at all but that one and the HBK top my list of wtf figures.

And hopefully some quality packaging that looks way more like an actual WWF Hasbro card back-complete with a 'clip n collect' profile card. Something that actually makes you feel hesitant and sad about ripping open the packaging lol. That's true too, for those that want to keep them original MOC. I wasn't really thinking of it though since I don't have much hope of it haha. There are phenominal Hasbro quality custom cards available though. The line was never going to last and imo the points you make about packaging and clip cards etc irrelevant because this is a toy line aimed at kids (hence the interactivity with the mayhem or whatever it was game) and also why we saw mainly current roster not legends. Fancy packaging mirrroring Hasbro more wouldn't appeal to kids. If it wasn't aimed at kids it wouldn't have been in toy isles and toy shops and would have been in the more collector orientated comic type shops and specialty stores like diamond toys, super 7 etc

Mattel knew serious collectors were heavy into the old Hasbro figures and came out with these hoping to compliment that. But like stc13 said, the stupid app basically ruined these, and Mattel making mostly current wrestlers instead of legends was also a huge mistake. They started out making these for collectors, but then veered off towards making them for kids. Huge mistake imo because collectors bought these more than anyone else. If you're familiar with RSC, the legend figures are always the ones that sell out quickly, while most of the rest don't seem to sell well at all. Ric Flair, Macho Man, Junkyard Dog. All hard to find and expensive. While others like Zack Ryder and Sami Zayn are easy to find and cheap. Just making a point.

Personal feelings aside, I believe Ronda, Charlotte,Becky, Alexa, Lita, Trish and Chyna (now that they are making her) would have been easy sells. I think a Bayley/Sasha set could have sold, maybe even introduce the womens tag belts that way. I think a glow style Naomi could have sold in a gimmicky way. Even a Steph, since they like pushing suited figs in the other lines. Asuka/Kairi could have been way over the top cool looking. Seems a waste not to try. But no, we needed Xavier Woods instead.

If it wasn't aimed at kids it wouldn't have been in toy isles and toy shops and would have been in the more collector orientated comic type shops and specialty stores like diamond toys, super 7 etc I don't deny they would want kids to buy them at all, but why not just make them look like Basic figures if they are just trying to appeal to kids with the line?? Why even make them look like Hasbro style figures since kids today love Elite and Basic style figures?? They obviously wanted my generation to at least look at these and buy them also out of nostalgia- or at the least buy them for your kids to introduce them to what you grew up on and hope they will enjoy them as well if they didn't have the urge on their own to want to buy them at all. They already made the shape of the card like a classic Hasbro card back as well as a similar graphics style on the front. So if they are in fact allowed to go further with it as far as the back of the card goes, why not try a bit to do that and have fun with it?? Yeah, sure it can be boring to just copy an old look, but you can still be a bit clever and creative with it in some ways. It gives us something to smile at from our memories and it won't stop kids from buying them if they like how the figures look. They stopped with the app bases so for the future it's not an issue, but if they have to throw in thing like that and promote them that's fine too since we had the little promos on the old Hasbro cards for contests and mail away things also. And even with that they can be creative with including thing for kids while making it cool for adult collectors like making the app instructions look like the old black and white line art like the old Hasbro card art. Just little things like that would be really cool in my opinion. It's their vision and that's fine, it's still cool and creative with what they've done. And yeah at the end of the day it's really great to even just have the figures of course. It's just when I see something cool that I enjoy (and have a fond memory of from my childhood especially) I can't help but just think of ideas for fun to make them even better or add things they left off.
