Doubtful 9 and 10 will be in Targets or Walmart. Probably 5 Below, Big Lots or Ollie's for the holidays.

Doubtful 9 and 10 will be in Targets or Walmart. Probably 5 Below, Big Lots or Ollie's for the holidays. The podcast reported from Action Figure Attack /Corporate Steve that Walmart weren’t getting 9 and 10, and that Target were looking unlikely, but I think they have since said that Target were looking a bit more promising recently. I wonder how many Mattel have of 9 and 10 in their warehouses waiting for a home - the UK online retailers reported that they didn’t get the numbers they ordered of either series, but clearly Mattel must’ve produced those series with the expectation that Walmart and Target would take them which now we know Walmart won’t do and Target might not; the Canadians have series 9 out in the wild but I’ve not heard any reports of them getting 10 yet. So there must be lots in storage right now. Assuming Target don’t take them in the end, then are Mattel just going to dump them direct to discount retailers, despite those sets having Goldust and Diesel in them? Will the UK retailers get the rest of their original orders? It seems like a mess whichever way it plays-out, and it seems that comes down to series 3 and 7 since from what I hear from Americans on Twitter and on here it seems like the other series have sold-out pretty solidly. Or do I have the wrong impression on how the line has performed in the US?

so my story of Retro 10 from Amazon is quite the thing
on July 27th I ordered all 4, for $9.99. All at once.
on September 19th I received Elias in a box that was the size of 2 mattel RAW ring boxes
on October 7th I received Matt Hardy with the carding bent and warped to holy hell (i'm a loose collector anyway)
and tonight I just got an email saying they cancelled Diesel
JYD is estimated to be delivered October 30th, which I'm sure I'll get a cancellation email for him too and now even Ringside is sold out. So my only chance is these hitting retail somewhere somehow

I love this line but Mattel screwed this one big time.

Or do I have the wrong impression on how the line has performed in the US? Pretty much how it has gone. S3 and S7 were way over produced/stocked at retail. And to some extent S1 and S2 sat at Walmarts for a while. But, I think this had something to do with the weird case breakdowns and the guys that were over packed like Warrior, Cena, Austin and Rock. Anything from other sets that has shown up has sold quick.

Amazon has been terrible for Retros, the free Prime delivery pre-order listings. I ordered from series 7 to 10. Only rec'd Angle, Jericho, Elias and Diesel. All the rest kept getting pushed back and back, so I cancelled those orders.

I'm still holding out hope JYD ships. Primarily because I don't want to have to hunt or overpay for him. He's the only Retro I don't have. I'm honestly not losing sleep over him. He's just like Sheik in that I think he's really out of place in the line. It's really just my OCD to have them all more than anything with him. I've had solid luck with Amazon, though. Mostly through Kickin' Toys, to be fair.

Seeing series 3 and 7 still on pegs is Target's stupidity of not clearancing them ages ago.

So seems more Targets have been getting S8 the past few days. Mine put out another box yesterday. I've now decided to go back and finish a complete set lucy. Originally was only going for flashbacks, but w/out knowing what the future holds for the line, thought maybe I'd end up wanting it complete in the long run.

My Diesel was also canceled the other day from Amazon, so I guess I'll just end up going with Ringside for it. I seen they had AJ on prime for 7.99 so I went ahead and grabed that one.

I ordered series 10 from Amazon and received Elias, Diesel, and Hardy. Problem was they were so damaged I returned them all. Cancelled my JYD orders too as I'm sure those would have been just as bad. I have a der I got from Ringside so I'm good but hoping these and series 9 show up somewhere ar retail. I buy up the legends whenever I find them. Found 2 Shieks at Target the other day.

Give Hasbro the Rights to make the WWE Hasbro line once again. This way we can get them exactly how they used to be made. They can continue where they left off. Designers at Hasbro in 2019 probably have less access to blueprints and materials from their WWF line than Zack Ryder does. Also, Hasbro releasing a WWF retro line would face the same retail realities that Mattel do, so people would just complain about the character selection/prices/distribution/action features anyway.

I feel if there was actually effort put into the figures and it was Hasbros only line they had to focus on, it would be way better than what has been done. Could be totally wrong. But LJN did a young bucks exclusive, and they brought back original packaging and likeness to the figures that were released on Ringside, compared to back in the day. I'm sure Hasbro could figure it out the same way and have a good distribution in store or even for just Ringside. Idk, hopefully things get worked out someday with whoever and they just get made.

Have Hasbro ever been seriously linked with a return to the wrestling figure market? The line ended like 25 years ago and they never worked with WCW, ECW or TNA with their figures; I guess I sort of had the idea that they weren't interested in that market after 1995. I guess they'd be interested in WWE if the sales numbers justify it - I think the current lines are still good sellers comparatively speaking?
I know there was a rumour last year or something about them maybe buying Mattel, but otherwise I'm not sure if they'd be interested.

100's of Series 6 just sitting on shelves in Aus. We got a limited-run of series 1, 3, 4. So all over the place.
