one of the biggest screw ups/wastes of talent this company has ever done. absolute disgrace they have a guy with that much wrestling ability and "cool"ness...and once the Wyatt thing was done, that was it for him. Guy had like a 3 week IC title reign and was just another lost opportunity. he's older now, im sure he will find some success still but its a damn shame. this company called "WWE" really has some complete crap bookers, writers, producers, etc. Harper was too much wrestling, not enough entertainment for them too handle. 1. Wrestling is entertainment. 2. AJ Styles, Finn Balor, Bobby Lashley, Cesaro, Ali, Andrade, Rollins, are all featured on TV most weeks - are they all lesser wrestlers than Harper?

I wouldve loved to see Luke Harper vs Mick Foley in a Long Island Bumfights Match

Shame. He deserved better. He should have been in the WWE Championship match with Bray and Orton. He was SO over, and WWE just dropped the ball and put him back with Rowan, only for that to flop. Then get hurt. Best of luck to him, he still has lots to offer.

More over than Sami Zayn. In other news. WWE has denied his request.

They're not granting him his release and actually extending his contract.

Lou Parper World title reign forthcoming. More like puppet on Bray Wyatt’s Neighborhood. Except he special delivers big boots and Michinoku drivers...

Guess they needed another guy to feed to Da Big Dawg on Smackdown? Vince is almost as obsessed with him as you are.

Does anyone know how these contracts are structured? like how WWE can make them independent contractors but still have them exclusively while extending the contract if they are injured yet still not use them on shows? are they still getting paid thru their contract?

Does anyone know how these contracts are structured? like how WWE can make them independent contractors but still have them exclusively while extending the contract if they are injured yet still not use them on shows? are they still getting paid thru their contract? Fairly certain they have guaranteed contracts, since we’ve been hearing that from Attitude era wrestlers for the past decade or so. And you can write literally anything into a contract and have it enforced if it’s signed. But think about it; I agreed to pay you for 3 years (as an example) for regular work, and you get injured and can’t work for 6 months. My investment in you didn’t pay the whole time, so I want to get the remaining 6 months owed. I’d guess if they choose to extend the time they agree to pay him since situations have varied in the past. Harper has been injured a couple times over the years, so that might be the reason for the extension. His public acknowledgement of asking for his release was respectful, but you never know if it irritated Vince or someone else in management, or if they just wanted to remind the others that a request isn’t always given for the sake of being given.

Which is petty on their part. Let the man go if he is not happy. Yeah it's really petty of wwe to make him fulfill the contract that he agreed to

Which is petty on their part. Let the man go if he is not happy. Looking at it from WWE's perspective, Luke Harper signed a contract to perform for WWE for a certain period of time and was not able to fulfill his contractual obligation. A contract is a contract. Everybody wants to say "oh he should just be let go if he's not happy", but then the contract benefits ONLY the wrestler and leaves NO protection to WWE. Could you imagine if after AJ Styles just signed this new contract with WWE that he just decided to bail and go to AEW for more money? WWE needs to be protected against stuff like that.

Yeah it's really pretty of wwe to make him fulfill the contract that he agreed to Stop, WWE is not this angelic company, who does nothing wrong. You all are on Vince's payroll I knew it. You CAN'T be this dull. YOU don't know how his contract works or was structured. They could have had an option that they chose to exercise. That's PROBABLY what happened. It was their right. Who's to say Harper won't come back and just be a force in the Upper Card-Main event scene, with a decent entertaining title run included? and this extension isn't the catalyst for that? YOU DON'T KNOW! WE DON'T KNOW!

Can we stop acting like WWE is this angelic company who does nothing wrong? I know you are likely on Vince's payroll but still... I'm not saying it's right or wrong and I don't support or vilify WWE for it. A contract is a contract and the law is the law. I think it's VERY hypocritical that they freeze Harper but just let out Goldust. But again, those are the terms of the contract and WWE has the right to freeze or not freeze based on if the talent has or has not fulfilled the terms. Luke Harper signed the contract knowing full well what he was getting into. This is not like WWE is cheating or screwing him over or blindsiding him with something he was not aware of.

Yeah, they’re still getting paid. Although it’d only be their downside guarantee and any merchandise/royalty bonuses, so nothing for working live events etc. Harper would maybe make more working indies than he would from his WWE downside, but he’s being paid for nothing at the moment, which is a pretty sweet gig for some.
