I didn’t say it was fool proof, I’ve seen basics ripped out and the card laying on the shelf. But it would reduce the occurrence of it and they’d spend less money on packaging that could go to something else. I throw them away anyway so making those big boxes is a waste imo I agree with that much. But the MOC collectors would have actual heart attacks. But the boxes already come in beat up as it is. If I was a MOC collector I’d have already quit because all I ever see is beat up boxes

I can assure you, they aren't going to be paying anyone extra to open the cases. They'll just give someone that works there already the keys and tell them to watch it. I know there won't be an employee dedicated to the figures, but everytime whatever employee needs to deal with people wanting stuff from the case, that employee is being paid for wasting their time on figures instead of doing whatever other job they are tasked with. They have toy department employees.

The idea of the miztourage locked in a glass case might be the most ridiculous thing I’ve seen in a long time

I just now noticed that poor kid looking at the toys behind the glass. What a fun experience.
I hope this ain’t something that will become more widespread. I can’t imagine kids having to tot shop like this in the future. The best part was shuffling through the pegs to see if your favorite was there! That mini heart race when you spot the one you’re looking for amidst that row of BCA Steve Williams and Jacqu...I mean, figures lol

Not being able to look thru the basics or the transformers had him all upset.

They have toy department employees. That stole all the Harley Race figures and sold them on ebay? I guarantee you it wasn't employees that took them. 95% of Walmart employees dont give a crap about the toys.

Its a running joke/excuse for not finding toys around here that Walmart and Target employees steal the store exclusive figures and sell them on ebay.

Imagine one chase in the front. You can't find anyone to help, and here comes someone else like I was that Patterson. If this is how things are gonna be I'm going to have to start carrying one of those glass breakers in case you drive into a lake.

This is the way retail is going. Profits are getting hard to come by due to competition and overall smaller margins. Companies are looking at everything they can to control expenses to stay relative. It's no one's fault but as we know Amazon has changed the retail landscape and everyone else is trying to catch up.

If they have to lock up toys because of thieves.
1. Don't go to that walmart every again.
2. That store should just close.

This is nutty, like the time FUSamBaker told me they like Michael Graves era Misfits over the Glenn Danzig era The Misfits. I'm sure Wal-Mart, like FUSamBaker , have a perfectly good explanation.
Update - FUSamBaker just angrily texted me and told me that the Jerry Only fronted Misfits is their favorite form of the band...I can't even right now... I think everyone knows the order goes Jerry Only era>Graves era>Myke Hideous era>Kryst the Conqueror discography>Danzig era

That's terrible. How would you even take the time to look through them? With an employee standing there with a key? That's not awkward... That's kind of the point. They dont want people to steal, the toys are probably one of their most stolen items. I get what the point is...Doesn't change the fact that it would be a great detriment to the figure hunting experience for most of us.

At one of the Hanover, Pennsylvania Walmarts somebody just smashed in one of the video game cabinets so I don’t think this is really gonna help. Some children are gonna end up getting cut to pieces by broken glass or something. They still haven’t replaced that broken window and just put the cheaper games there now lol

The Wal-Marts around me have such a terrible selection nobody would want to steal anything. I guess every store deters crime in their own way.

In some walmarts the entire female beauty section is in its own separate boxed area with a cash register and you can only pay for the cosmetics in the cosmetics area.
High theft area. When i see this,, I don't feel like buying stuff. Too much hassle.
I Enjoy freedom, and it just puts me off

Well in Walmart's defense...it is South Philly It is actually right on the line of where Philadelphia begins in the north east. Pretty much the burbs not really a bad area. They're doing this is California, too. First it was the whole cosmetics aisles, then they put all LEGO products behind glass, and now this. I saw somewhere they're putting energy drinks behind glass, too, along with liqueur. What a sad world, I feel really bad for your son, who can't even browse through the pegs and have that moment of serendipity finding something he really likes. TOYS are behind glass! Kids are already playing with toys less and less, and now this doesn't help matters. It literally brings a tears to my eyes as I type this... Man, and like you've told us, employees are unavailable to even unlock them for you. In an effort to prevent theft, they will turn away willing customers who would buy it then and there, but now they want us to wait even more?
