Oof...I was really banking on someone else stepping up on this tried and true SuperBrawl tradition this time around, but apparently only one of us here cares about the storied and unflappable history of this place, and so here's your requisite predictions thread for SuperBrawl X. Put some thought into them. Give a little reasoning behind them. Jesus, liven this place up just a little. Thanks for making this thread. I've been busy with real life shizz so the hype machine has been eerily silent.
FYI - my mother had her surgery Monday, they removed the tumor with no problems, and she's already showing signs of improvement. She's got months of therapy ahead of her but that should be easy compared to what she's already gone through.
And now I'll dive into my predictions:
Broom vs Needles - I think Needles will pull it out. There's been a change in guest writer for Billy but I don't think it matters who writes Billy. Needles is ready to step up. He needs a big win on a big stage.
Mesh vs Anna Ahriman - My money is on Mesh.
Shannon vs ?? - Well, I know who ?? is but I'm not telling. Regardless, I think Penny Shannon wins because Mikes came back in top form and can beat anybody when she puts her mind to it.
Lynn vs Whitner vs Draven - Frank Lynn wins... but I'm biased.
Drakz vs Kyzer - Drakz wins. He's waited a long time for not only this particular match but also for the opportunity to have a straightforward one on one match at SuperBrawl. Kyzer's great. Drakz is a little bit better.

( The following predictions were done in character because it's more fun that way.) Billy Broom vs. Ryan "Needles" Payne: I don't like Bat Boy. Him breaking my nose at MADISON SQUARE FREAKIN' GARDEN, him killing Chris, the downright....disturbing things he's said about Jenny, you know - my bro, bro. There's plenty of reasons why Bat Boy is the scum of the earth and he will continue to do awful things to anyone in his path until he is stopped. Enter Mr. B (sorry if you read this - I know you don't like it when I call you that :-P) Now, I've seen - well heard him get angry and it was scary...and that was over Fortnite. Imagine what he's going to do to Bat Boy when he's in the ring? Tl;dr - Billy Broom wins. Anna Ahriman vs. Mesh: As the Witchfinder, I will fulfill my duty to the land of Stromboli by ridding of the witch and the dark magic that she has cast. I shall light the fire...and BURN THE WITCH! Penny Shannon vs. Vacant (loljk): It's no secret that I loooooooooove Penny Shannon. She's the best! Now I have no idea who her opponent is - but I swear, if it's Scarlett Quinn I will squeal. Not even joking.
I'm Team Penny, all day.
Tyler Draven vs. Ante Whitner vs. Frank Lynn: One of these things is not like the other.
And that is Whitner.
He hasn't wrestled since....I can't even remember so I don't take him seriously as a credible contender.
Tyler Draven is good but let's face it - he's lost to Frank twice now. Need I say more?
At SuperBrawl, The Lethal Weapon is going to retain. He's choked Draven out once before (myself included sooooo.....nice try, internet) and he'll do it again.
Goooooooo, Frank!
Michael Kyzer vs. Drakz: It's a match straight out of a kaiju movie: Biollante vs. Destoroyah.
Which is funny because in Godzilla lore, Biollante and Destoroyah HATE each other. They are sworn enemies. Also in Godzilla lore, Destoroyah was believed to be invincible...but then Penny Shannon happened and showed everyone that even Destoroyah isn't invincible.
Plus, Drakz finds me annoying (I heard that gem backstage at the last show) so he doesn't really have my support.
Even though Kyzer hasn't always been nice to me (Remember Philly? When you blew smoke in my face?) I've always thought he was the best out of the three in The New Epoch, which is also funny because I prefer Biollante over Destoroyah anyway.
What I'm trying to say is - Kyzer wins.

Billy Broom vs. Ryan "Needles" Payne
I really, really want Needles to show me up here. He's been such a dependable hand since Rich and I first took the reins of a sinking ship, and he's stayed the course where others in his position would have abandoned ship time and time again. He's got all the tools in place to take it to that next level, and I feel like his last big hurdle is just putting them together and applying them properly. Once he can do that, he'll be a force in his own right, but until then (hopefully this time around), the inclination is to go with whatever (likely) seasoned hand has signed on to write Broom this time out. If Needles can come out swinging, he can shut all of us up, but my inclination this time around is to go safe bet.
Penny Shannon vs. The Unnamed Respondent
I'm blissfully unaware as to who's in place to answer the open challenge, but I feel like regardless of who it turns out to be, Shannon's got the win in hand so long as she shows. I feel like Mike has got, perhaps, the most grounding she's had in place for one of her characters in eons this time around, and so long as she continues to make good on showing and not disappearing into the ether, she can easily give anyone a run for their money, at bare minimum. Off hand, I can't think of anyone presently active and not already booked or otherwise who could step to Penny at this juncture and handily offer her defeat, shy of a no-show victory, which nobody wants.
Mesh vs. Anna Ahriman
This will come off as me just heeling on Shawn because of reasons and if people are dense enough to assume I've ever played the pick 'em or book 'em games with an ounce of bias in mind, that's their prerogative...but I haven't seen a thing since we were first introduced to the character of Anna Ahriman as a semi-active competitor to give an ounce of reason to believe that she could pick up a win over Mesh, who even on her self declared "off days" continues to fire on cylinders people on equal footing could only dream of sparking. Even at her "worst" (a term I use begrudgingly), Mesh has got a proven track record that stacks miles high over any output we've seen from the Anna character, to date. I'd be downright shocked to see this one go any other way.
Frank Lynn vs. Ante Whitner vs. Tyler Draven
Conversely, this one is going to be me shoot heeling a bit...but of these three, all of whom are perfectly capable writers with a track record of output that would support them not only being in this particular picture but a step above, to boot, I feel as though only Frank/Rich has been in it enough, as of late, to feasibly own the victory here. That's not to take a thing away from Whitner or Trace, but I feel that Rich's level of commitment here is going to wind up being the prevalent factor in allowing him to deliver the better piece. Prove me wrong.
Drakz vs. Michael Kyzer
This one, really, is a toss up. Flip a coin. Both of these guys are just so, so, so above anyone's level right now, so much so that a) if I insisted on nothing else, I'm so glad that my parting demand as owner was that this be allowed to carry on to the main event in the absence of me being in a position to push for it, and b) it's almost impossible to comfortably call. For the first time in what feels like ever, I have only the tiniest idea of what these two have in mind, shy of maybe one bit of story element, and that leaves me with little more than inclination with which to guess. I'm saying Drakz, only because of how untouchable he's been as of late (questionable outcomes notwithstanding), and because Kyzer's focus nowadays rightly seems more honed in on the Tugarin character. This is the one to watch.
