What is the correct amount of time before you talk about a movie with people who haven’t seen it?
Also, what is your opinion about spoilers in general? Are you a hard liner who hates them and avoids them or do you simply not care?
I’m someone who enjoys spoilers here and there. Sometimes reading them gets me more excited to see it.

I look for spoilers, because I'm extremely impatient. I never get a chance to see movies on opening night, so I immediately go to Wikipedia as soon as its posted.

I'm not that phased by spoilers. I won't get angry at somebody for spoiling something for me. If its a movie I'm excited about or a show I'm invested in, I try to avoid them and get annoyed at myself if I expose them to myself but if I'm online I expect them.
I've had friends get angry at me for spoiling the plot twist in Fight Club. If you're prone to getting pissed about a movie thats been out for years that you haven't seen, that seems ridiculous.

I’m not huge on them, but if something is marked as containing them then I have zero issue with people discussing them. I simply like the added suspense of not knowing (for sure) what may happen in whatever I’m watching.

Personally, I believe as a consumer you're in control of avoiding spoilers for the media you care about. There shouldn't really be a time limit on spoilers, especially if we're talking about something that's even as little as a year old. It surprises me to no end when people complain about something being spoiled on a specific webpage or forum thread when it should be common sense that if an episode or film has been released you should probably avoid pop culture sites until you've seen said show or film. I put myself on a 48-hour pop culture site lockdown to avoid Endgame spoilers and it paid off immensely. Bottom line - once the story is out there you need to be smart about the media sources you're consuming.
The only exceptions to this that I can get behind is when a website has a headline along the lines of "Director X explain the meaning behind this shocking death" and beside it is a thumbnail of the character that dies. Or if a headline just straight up features a spoiler. It's simply more considerate of websites to at least bury the lead for the first week or two. Again, that can easily be avoided by staying away from common spoiler sources until you've seen the show/movie yourself.
Now with that said, if I'm discussing a movie or show with someone and I've made it clear I'm only at a certain point in that piece of media and they blurt out spoilers anyway then I get annoyed because I do appreciate the element of surprise and going into it as fresh as possible. It rarely happens but I've experienced that before and it kind of takes the wind out of my sails when it comes to going back and finish watching that show/movie.

Anyone who spoils something just for the reason to think they are the coolest then they are ing idiots. People don't have much in life and if they are looking forward to a movie, tv show, etc and some idiot just post spoilers on their social media then they deserve a smack in the face. You're not cool. You're not edgy, and you're sure as hell not a HEEL. You're a pathetic piece of crap. With that being said, I say after the opening weekend of a movie, such as "Endgame", then you can go ahead and discuss it. I figure a person who really wants to see something like that would watch it right when it comes out. If it's been out a week and you haven't seen it yet, yeah then you get what you get.

Being a cheap ass when it comes to theatrical releases (and also because I genuinely want to support them), I wait until my local $3 theatre gets movies in, so I don't get to see any movies until they've been out a month or more. Because of that, spoilers don't phase me at all, and in some cases can help me decide whether or not I should be excited for a movie or skip it entirely.
That being said, I can understand people not wanting things spoiled for them. I cannot, however understand becoming a raving lunatic because a movie or tv show was spoiled for you. If disappointment leads directly to unrestrained rage for you, then you need professional help.
I say a 48 hour window is more than adequate. If it's that important to you, then you need to either find time to watch it, or the impetus is on you to avoid social media until you can do so.
When you get into something that's been out for YEARS..."Oh, don't spoil Citizen Kane for me". Look, if you couldn't be bothered to find the time in the last 78 years to figure out that Rosebud was his childhood sled, then you can get stuffed.

If it was something I was really looking forward to I might be bummed (like I dunno, how Game of Thrones ends or something) but with what I'm watching it's the journey not the destination that interests me.

If you care about something so much that a spoiler is going to ruin your experience, it’s your responsibility to protect yourself from spoilers. Stay off the internet, stay off comment sections of videos, go see the movie when it comes out. Watch Game of Thrones live...
The exception being the idiot who runs by the theater line and screams Han Solo dies. That dude deserves his beating. Beyond that, spoilers are a personal accountability issue imo.

I don't mind spoilers. Someone ruined Primal Fear when it came out before I saw it. Still a good picture and the reveal was exceptional. Movies only have a handful of ways of playing out, it's just the journey and the surrounding elements that make the picture for me. If someone tells me "you know so and so dies thirty minutes in" well i say I hope they do enough to make me care about that character.

I give 3 days. After that, it is 100% up to you to avoid them. It isnt my job to not talk about something because you haven't seen it. That's not my problem.
On the flip side, a spoiler has never ruined anything for me. Shock value may be lower, but if done well, it wont hurt anything.
People who cry about spoilers are likely the same ones who are always looking for some reason to be offended.
Edit: 3 days for a movie. 24 hours for tv.

Endgame was spoiled for me “twice”. Both randomly. Once was in an NHL post, the other in a post about Vickie Guerrero thinking Benoit should be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
Your thoughts on that being “okay”?

Your thoughts on that being “okay”? It's kind of a crap move, but social media is the kind of place I expect that. Social media you cant think what's right or wrong. You have to think what would the lowest common denominator do. Because everyone has access to fb or Twitter or whatever. Best to avoid it 100% until the time where it cant be spoiled.

Well, with my back there’s no way I am sitting in a movie theater seat for 3 hours so I won’t be seeing Endgame until it’s released on Blu ray/digital. (Already preordered it on VUDU) But then again there’s very few movies I will actually go to a movie theater to see because I hate crowds as well as morons talking through them. That said the only time I avoid spoilers is if it’s a Batman movie anything else I really don’t care. But it’s very easy to avoid anything I don’t want spoiled.

Your thoughts on that being “okay”? Sort of the same thing happened to me before I got a chance to watch Endgame. Asked a buddy if it was a good follow up and he said "OH MAN IT WAS SO AWESOME BUT IT SUCKS BECAUSE ______DIED!" Dude... those people. I just asked if it was good.
