With the smackdown tag team roster being in shambles post shake up and with the injures how would you repair the division and build it going forward.I ask this because on Tuesday it sounds like Shane is just going to give the tag team titles to someone which as of right now I am assuming will be himself and Elias which will be terrible.
Here's how I would total remake the roster.
1)Daniel Bryan & Rowan-This would be the team that wins or is awarded the titles,I think making them a tag team would really help out the roster and also lessen the work load on Bryan while giving him something worth while to do if he's not in the main event mix moving forward.
2)Matt Hardy & D'Von Dudley-If D'Von is still in decent shape this would team up two of the greatest tag team wrestlers in history and would give the older "Attitude Era" fans a team to get behind.Give Matt something to do while Jeff heals up and give a new team to the division that has instant cred with the fan base.Plus get D'Von back in the ring for a final run and a way to end his career better then the failed Dudley Boyz return a few years back.
3)Ali & Buddy Murphy-A nice mix of in ring styles and a team that could be formed by the lack of respect that they get from being 205 Live members.
4)Chad Gable & Shelton Benjamin-Already team in the past and really should have won the titles before their first break up.
5)Heavy Machinery-Comedy tag team
6)Undisputed Era-Been in NXT for nearly 2 years now and long over do for a main roster call up.

I honestly would like to see tag teams exclusive to Raw. They could feature 205 on Smackdown so the Cruiserweights would be exclusive to that brand.
I’m really kinda mixed on tag teams tbh. I like seeing teams formed well before their main roster debut. When they try to merge two susperstars together it either works or doesn’t. The Bar, New Day they seemed to work perfectly. But it doesn’t always pan out that way. I donno if I’d want to see Murphy and Ali paired since Ali seems to be gaining some singles momentum and Buddy is such a good 205 fit.
Speaking of merging two together, I didn’t like Gable and Roode together at all. It just seemed very forced. They gave it a good go but I’m glad they are parting ways.

Before Mania I called for Bryan and Rowan to be a team and win the belts after Daniel dropped the World title, which I wrongly guessed would happen at Elimination Chamber. Felt like that would keep Bryan relevant without him being the top guy.
Also, hug them for splitting up SAnitY. Hug them all to heck!

-Blake & Murphy (this is the only way Murphy doesnt get lost in the shuffle on the main roster IMO)

-Heavy Machinery
-B Team
-Colons
-Lucha House Party
13 teams is more then enough to have a solid division....but of course they have to know how to book them too.

Just restock, and do a tournament that isn't rushed - one match a week, promos, build it to mean something when someone does take the titles in a couple of months. Centre the titles around the top teams and come up with entertaining little bits for the lower teams to do, similar to how Breezango started the Fashion Files. If a lowercard team catches some momentum, give them a run towards the top of the division.
The top teams:
The New Day
Daniel Bryan & Rowan
Rusev & Shinsuke Nakamura
Heavy Machinery - kind of in the Too Cool slot, where they'll mostly lose to the three teams above and beat the teams below
Making up the numbers:
Heath Slater & Rhyno (they're doing nothing on Raw)
The Colons
The B Team
The Singh Brothers (they can do double duty if having them on 205 matters)
Raw is in London next week, I'd maybe have Moustache Mountain be in a tournament first round match, losing to Bryan and Rowan or Rusev and Nakamura.
There are other options too, in terms of numbers - Gable and Benjamin could reunite, Aiden English could get a tag partner.

Reunite the Bludgeon Brothers. Even if Harper still wants to leave, this could be a temporary band-aid till his contract is up. If Harper refuses, why not team Killian Dane up with Rowan? Maybe even add Nikki Cross.
If not, reform Sanity. If nothing else, have Young & Dane with Nikki. Could bring Wolfe back over or just leave him be... for now.
Give the fans reason to care about the B-Team. Funny and talented guys, but they need to be able to showcase it. Bring the Colons back to TV. I know fans don't seem to care about them. But give them some wins and maybe they'll finally catch on. Have the Fashion Police re-debut with a more serious gimmick. Maybe make them this era's version of the Midnight Express (gimmick wise not name) and build the division around them. Give Heavy Machinery more TV time. They're very limited, but could be a decent comedy act. Re-team Shelton & Gable back up. But this time, have Kurt Angle as their coach. Show vignettes of him training them. Please put Gable in the chicken suit. If not Shelton, have Gable team up with Apollo Crews. Kurt could still be their coach, but this time they can go with the story that they both proved to Angle their potential during his lead up to WM. Move the Ascension over to SD. Probably too late to rebuild them, but no shame in trying. Use the Singh Brothers more. I know they just had a match on 205, but there's no tag titles on that show. Have Jinder help them get some wins and maybe it'll be fun for awhile.
All easily in the realm of possibility.

I hate the idea of "putting all tag teams on one brand." They're not a single entity in most cases. Obviously you would consider the Uso's and the Revival "tag teams" but do you have the likes of Rusev and Nakamura, guys that are considered more single stars on the brand with the "tag division"? What happens when they break up? What if a new tag team forms on the other brand? What about factions, do they all have to be on the tag brand too? It just wouldn't work, there are more than enough tag teams to sustain 2 sets of titles anyway imo, it's just a shame that Smackdown has been seriously  ed over in the never ending shakeup. |

I think the solution is in the neverending shakeup. Gotta keep it going a little bit with all the injuries.
Long term the Hardy's and New Day will be back and bring some more depth, so you need a bit to stall.
Wait until Fox to call up the undisputed era. Lets them finish the storylines with Roderick/Adam Cole Bay-Bay. They can make a big splash by showing up when they go on fox.
B-Team and Heavy Machinery give a couple good comedy acts, which can definitely serve a purpose.
I know Vince wouldn't want to reward Harper, but rebduilding the Bludgeon Brothers would go a long way. I know they'd have to throw away everything they did having Rowan back with DB, but this is WWE. Last week doesn't exist.
Alternatively, the DB/Rowan pair could make for a good storyline. Kofi took over the main event picture, so DB seeks to get his revenge by taking over the tag team picture, Kofi's old stomping ground. Could set up for some cool storylines into later PPV's.
Gable/Benjamin has been mentioned, but reuniting them would be a good play. They could put on some good matches beating up the comedy teams, and hopefully help them get back over with the main crowd.
I don't see Rusev/Nakamura succeeding long term. Nakamura has basically phoned it in, and his quality has gone so far down. Rusev needs to be in singles, he could have a great match against Lars if they decide to actually build Rusev back up again.
That basically covers everybody on the roster, so you kind of have to import another team again.
If you want to actually do right by your talent, bring the Revival over and give them a fresh start. Revival vs. Gable/Benjamin for the titles could be absolutely incredible. You got to bury them on Raw with the god awful back shaving thing. Now let them clean up their wounds, go over to SD, and get to have a proper run.
That would leave pre-injury returns/pre Fox move
Heavy Machinery
B-Team
Gable/Benjamin
Rowan & DB or Bludgeon Brothers
Revival
5 teams is not very deep at all with 2 comedy teams, but the quality of the 3 legitimate teams would hopefully be enough to have the titles still exist in a semi-relevant way, with 3 major teams coming later. SD is still a 2 hour show for now, and with the women's tag titles seemingly staying on SD for quite a while when Asuka/Kairi win them from the Iconics, you can hopefully get away with the men's tag titles playing a smaller role with just a few really good teams.

its not just smackdown that has the problem though....the tag division is a hot mess across the board, and half the matches on both shows every week are tag matches because they cant come up with anything else for guys to do.
there should be ONE tag team championship, and you just mix and match on both shows. if you actually got two teams in a feud over something actually worth caring about and not jokes that an 11-year old would find funny, people would care. and then the tag champs would switch off shows every few months or so.
its really not that hard to make wrestling interesting, but it actually takes effort and they dont need to do that because they are only concerned with selling the brand and not the wrestlers.

Oh good, Shane's going to keep wrestling... Pitiful. They really need to let Finn and Ali do their own thing. Also break Rusev and Nakamura apart, they really don’t jive as a team. Shane and Elias is a cool pair for a few matches but gosh don’t hold Elias back and PLEASE stay out of the ring Shane lol. Tbh I really don’t even see the need for a women’s tag division. The IIconics are a team but who else? I could see if the Bellas were still a thing, but there aren’t really Women’s teams built up. They should have learned from the 1980s go around when it was literally the Jumping Bomb Angels vs the Glamour Girls over and over. I just don’t like teams thrown together. Stop putting random established stars together, just start it in NXT then move them up 😂 |

That poster is everything that is wrong with WWE right now. Multiple botched storylines/superstars, the bosses kid pretending to be a wrestler while others want to walk because they don't get any storylines/t.v. time, your other champions thrown in because you don't have enough tag teams to go around, and the only two real tag teams are joke teams. (I know the New day is a real tag team, and the only legitimate contender team, but it was supposed to be Big E and Xavier right now while Kofi does his solo thing. You should have enough that Xavier could do some solo stuff while Big E heals up and Kofi has the main title) I can't think of another time where there has been more pure talent on the rosters, and somehow we've arrived at this mess.

We all know Kofi is just keeping the belt warm because it's going to wind up being swapped between Bryan, KO, and Roman soon...but yeah, I didn't even think of that. Why the hell is the guy carrying THE belt that started it all being considered for tag team titles? Is that just proof it's so broken you can't think of anything else? |

Theyre better off throwing two mildly successful mid carders (like shamus and Cesaro were) and teaming them together as the top heels and have heavy machinery as the top faces.
The whole division is made up of jobber tag teams now at least H/M are new enough that they haven't been picking up loses every week.
