When I made my first post on this forum about a few weeks back, I had a little problem with an elite. Although, it only slightly bugged me, and I now have enough spare hands to go around. But here's one problem with two specific Braun Strowman elites that I simply can't ignore.
Everyone knows that the Braun Strowman elites have been pretty repetitive. But they at least came with different accessories and different head scans. Unfortunately though, the only difference between the Elite 68 and Top Picks Braun Strowman figures is the box they come in. Literally no difference between the figures and the accessories whatsoever. And the fact that these figures just hogs up space for other deserving wrestling figures for people like Andrade really annoys me.
I challenge you to find a difference between these figures. Your award will be a brand new pile of nothing. And let me know what you think about the cloning of Strowman figures in the comments, since I don't feel that using polls is that necessary for my posts anymore.

You aren't the demographic being targeted with the Top Picks line.

I agree that they do not present a lot of variety but he doesn't look very different that often. Honestly I'm just glad he got a unique mold for his parts because Mattel has been soso lately in terms of quality. Not to be ungrateful. I just want my figures to be durable and worth the little money I have.

I mentioned in the Top Picks thread how it's really strange they refuse to give Elite Brauns the correct/black pants... even his Retro and Basics have them. He hasn't worn those brown pants in about 2 years(!).

The top picks were designed to be able to keep people like Braun on the shelves all the time. That'll end up freeing up spots for guys like Andrade in the main line. I'm guessing they had E68 planned and committed before they settled on keeping Braun in top picks, so they just used the same figure and kept him in both.

Is it fair to call them lazy for not bothering to update his pants and boots when they made a clear effort to sculpt a in' cello?

Given his last couple months, I'm really looking forward to "as shredded as Jinder" Braun.
I agree about the pants though.

Braun barely changes his attire. obviously the figures wont change attire either. ...Braun changed his attire 2 YEARS ago though - yet all his Elites have the same outdated brown pants. It's crazy... I would have thought it would be a pretty easy/cost-effective thing to do too.

The top guys get more figures - and some of those figures are going to be repeats. If this upsets you, collecting mainstream toys is not the right hobby for you. It’s the same with wrestling, superheroes, Pokemon, Star Wars, etc.

I think they could do a really could Braun if they made some subtle tweaks.
First of all, he doesn't wear a singlet anymore. So he needs a removable cloth shirt cut into almost a tanktop. He wears his own t-shirt now, un-tucked.
Second of all, change his lower legs and boots, because he does not wear tall boots anymore. He essentially wears work boots, and if they wanted to be cheap they could probably just use the one they give Roman Reigns, IF they make a new lower leg.
Third of all, I still don't think his hands are big enough. Make them bigger.
That and more regularly updating the color scheme on his pants, and I think we could have a really awesome Braun.

Definitely doesn’t sell. Especially to be having 2-3 of the same figure on the shelves at once. I can go to any Target/WalMart in a 40 mike radius right now and at least 1-2 Top Talent Braun Strowman will be sitting on the pegs. That Top Talents Series 2 figure might starting hitting shelves when Elite Series 68 hits retail. If not, the Top Talents Series 1 will still be rotting. Possibly all 3. I’m hoping Braun was already slated and it was too late to pull him. Strowman will be warming for quite a while, with 3 options to choose from. 2 being the exact same figure.

You aren't the demographic being targeted with the Top Picks line. Hey, they can have their Brain Strowman in the Top Picks line, no problem, sell him all freaking year, but then don't waste an important main line spot with literally the same f'n figure. It's redundant.

You aren't the demographic being targeted with the Top Picks line. Yes we all know this but to put out the same figure for two different demographics is just a mistake imo. Even with slight differences they could make it that maybe both demographics might buy it. If the goal is to put out figures to entice people to start collecting them, it seems odd that one figure can be on the shelf twice with two different customers in mind. It kind of defeats the purpose, though I don't think it's that big a deal overall. Just odd

Perhaps I'm just numb to redundancies between main line releases and spin-off lines. I know Mattel is basically the Great Satan around here, but this particular misstep, if you even want to call it that, seems like such an infrequent occurrence compared to the numbers of times some of their predecessors had done committed similar atrocities.
I guess I just don't get what all the fuss is about.

E58 and Top Picks 1 also were the exact same other than the extra hands. I don’t recall as much complaining about those even though it’s the exact same scenario.

I’m hoping Braun was already slated and it was too late to pull him. Strowman will be warming for quite a while, with 3 options to choose from. 2 being the exact same figure. I feel like we’ve been explaining this to people since 2012. 1. What sells in one area may not be popular in another, but overall it is still selling. 2. They would not make so many Brauns if he was not selling. They stopped making so many Ortons specifically because he wasn’t selling as well as he used to. 3. They pack the top stars heavy because they’re top stars. Jakks top sellers were Rock, Austin, Kane, & Undertaker. The next generation was Brock, Goldberg, Undertaker, & Triple H. After that it was Edge, Cena, Undertaker, & Batista. For Mattel it used to be Cena, Rey, Punk, & Rock. Now it’s Seth, AJ, Finn, Braun, and probably Roman too. Obviously it must be because they put these guys in this set twice in a row. Obviously Strowman either needs to change his gear, they need to paint the pants correctly, and/or they need to make an elite with one of his shirts instead of the singlet, but until he stops selling well they will keep making him
