I know you didn't have a reply for WrestleMania 19, so I guess I'll be the first to talk about WrestleMania and RAW. So Here were my key points to WrestleMania, Hardy and Mysterio was expected with Hardy retaining the Cruiserweight title, but the RAW Tag Team Match with Kane & RVD over The Dudleys, they were the heavy favorites and by golly they got the gold. Trish winning the Women's Title just like in real life is good. Rock and HBK, most specifically the first best match of WrestleMania 19. Michaels gave everything he had against The Rock, but on this night, The Rock was simply and is still electrifying and I do not doubt that we will see Rock vs HBK again, probably a rematch of sorts at Summerslam or Survivor Series with HBK having the upper hand and then The Rock winning it at WrestleMania 20. So if you want a big match to happen between Rock and HBK again, if this diary still continues, make The Rock the World Champion, have him come back part-time like he did 2013 in real life. And give him the World Title so that Shawn can win the Rumble and face Rock at WrestleMania 20 to get revenge on his loss. Glad that Jericho won the Intercontinental Title again and yes, he did bring a bit of the bubbly after winning it lol. You still have Edge and Benoit teaming, I guess it's for the best, but glad they're the SMACKDOWN Tag Team Champions, and also give Edge a singles push please. Loved the confrontation between Jericho and Steamboat, do I see Steamboat challenging Jericho down the line and coming out of retirement to put on a good match against Jericho?. Maybe, My man The Undertaker is now the WWE Champion, he is 11-0. Jimmy Snuka, Jake Roberts, Giant Gonzales, King Kong Bundy, Diesel, Sycho Sid, Kane, Big Bossman, Triple H, Ric Flair and you can add Kurt Angle to the list. Angle did as he could but still he didn't break the streak, so now who is the next to get in The Deadman's way?. John Cena perhaps?. Chris Benoit?. Big Show?. Or hell, Doink The Clown maybe?. Just teasing. And speaking of another title change, that brings me to Brock Lesnar, i'm glad you ended the terror of Triple H's World Title Reign, I so wish this would've happened at WrestleMania 19 as I sit here and read this and type this. Lesnar could've gone to RAW to challenge The Game in real life, and then have another Benoit/Angle match at WrestleMania 19. But it is what it is, and finally the main event, icon vs icon. Hogan vs Austin, The Rattlesnake vs The Hulkster. The Hulkamaniacs vs Austin 3:16. And what a match that was, Hulkamania ran its course but on this night, it was Austinmania. And that's a passing of the torch, but now onto RAW. Not a bad RAW Show at the end of WrestleMania with Hogan being beaten by Evolution and Austin being banned from wrestling just like in real life. We haven't seen the debut of Goldberg who knows when he is going to debut. The Rock leaving RAW, Now Bischoff is in deep trouble, but what is the deal with Goldust?. It seems like Bischoff is throwing his weight around here and if anyone has a say to stop this, it's Vince McMahon!. Also, Glad that Nash is back, maybe we could see a tag match at Backlash between Nash and HBK against Jericho and Christian, I've also thought to myself what if Nash also turns on HBK too in this diary?. Looking forward for some more things in the future guys. Now for old times sake please reply to my WWF 93-97 Diary.

April 3, 2003: Spokane Arena in Spokane, WA
After a recap video from WrestleMania this past Sunday, the cameras come backstage of the Spokane Arena to the parking lot where a limousine is seen arriving. The driver gets out and walks to the back door, opening it up with The Rock stepping out and looking around. The crowd has a loud reaction from inside of the arena, Rock pulling his bag over his shoulder and beginning to make a walk through the parking lot when Stephanie McMahon approaches him, arms crossed as she welcomes him back. She says that it's nice to have him here, especially on a night where she has a big announcement to make. "You're welcome!" He says with a smile. "The Rock is home, The Rock is here on Smackdown and The Rock knows just how bad you missed and needed him!" McMahon says she was admitting that she pleasantly surprised to get a call from him last night, to which Rock jokes too bad it wasn't about what she really wanted. "But we got plenty of time for that, Steph, don't you worry about a thing! See, The Rock's going to take care of business just like he took care of business at WrestleMania when he whooped Shawn Michaels' candy ass! See, The Rock is here to save Smackdown! The Rock is here to bring star power like no other! Hell, The Rock is here... and ready to become your new WWE Champion, Steph." He flashes a big smile, Stephanie telling Rock that's great and all, but maybe she should be telling the new WWE Champion that, not her. "As a matter of fact, Undertaker's on his way to the ring right now if you feel like catching up." She once again says 'welcome back' and walks away as Rock looks down his sunglasses. The theme music of The Undertaker hits plays inside of the arena and the new WWE Champion makes his way out on his motorcycle to cheers from the Spokane audience. After playing up to them on his way down and in to the ring, he calls for a microphone and stands in the center of the squared circle. "In case you hadn't heard or you can't see, there's a new champion around here." He walks around a bit, saying that it isn't his first rodeo and unlike usual, everybody is going to be wanting a piece of him now. "Because everybody strives to be the WWE Champion and you bet your ass that I'm a fighting champion and I'm ready to take on anybody that dares step in to my yard!" He says that he is willing to go toe-to-toe with anybody that has the guts to stand up to him but he warns that he will be fully prepared to knock them right back down and move on to the next one.
Before 'The Dead Man' can say anything more, Kurt Angle's music interrupts. The man Undertaker beat this past Sunday makes his way out to the stage and slowly comes down the ramp while addressing his recent rival. "Let's make something clear, 'Dead Man'. There is nobody that deserves to be holding that WWE Championship other than myself." He says that people like The Rock think they can just jump to the front of the line and Taker is willing to fight anybody, but the bottom line is he has a rematch clause. Taker steps up to the ropes and leans across them, saying that's right. "You do have a rematch clause, Kurt. But you have a rematch clause because at WrestleMania I beat you at your own game and I choked you out, didn't I?" Angle isn't happy with the comments and tells Taker that what happened at WrestleMania was a total fluke and it won't happen again! "Because next time I'm in the ring with you, Taker, your ass is mine and I'll make you tap out!" Undertaker says that's a lot of big talk, but maybe instead of talking, Angle should come in to the ring and prove it. 'Big Evil' proceeds to lay the WWE Championship belt down on the mat and motion for Angle to enter the ring! "Oh, man!" Tazz says. "Are we gonna see these two throw down for the second time this week?!" Kurt starts to walk toward the ring and even gets a knee up on the apron, but he decides instead to back off. Taker picks his title belt back up as the crowd boos, Angle wagging his finger. "No, no, no. I don't have to prove myself in a fight, Taker. I'll prove myself when I get my rematch... and I'm invoking that rematch next week right here on Smackdown!" As Cole hypes up a WrestleMania rematch taking place next week, Angle warns Taker that he has only seven days to hold on to that championship.
1) Rhyno def. A-Train (w/Paul Heyman) via pinfallAfter making a surprise return as part of the Intercontinental Championship battle royal at WrestleMania, Rhyno faces no small task in A-Train as his first opponent. Rhyno is fired up and comes at A-Train hard but the size of Train allows him to hit some big slams for near falls. After Rhyno avoids a corner splash, however, he bounces off the ropes and returns with a Gore! He covers Train, hooks both legs and gets the pinfall in his first singles match back in well over a year. As Rhyno emerges to his feet to celebrate the win, The Big Show begins to walk down from the back. Rhyno stays put in the center of the ring and waits for the giant man to enter the ring. Show, however, just walks by Rhyno and pushes him down in the process, getting in the face of A-Train in the corner. Heyman steps in to the ring quickly to get in between his two clients — begging for them to stop! Show backs up and turns around, Rhyno charging at him with Show side-stepping as Rhyno ends up hitting Heyman with the Gore! "Oh no!" Says Cole. "Rhyno Gored Heyman! Rhyno just Gored Heyman!" Heyman yells out in pain as he is laid out on the mat, Rhyno rolling to the outside and watching on, a sly grin on his face as Show and Train check on their downed agent, the referee from the match getting in the middle of things to check on Heyman's condition as well before waving his hand toward ringside as he calls for the medic to come in the ring.
As that is going on, the cameras pick up backstage to show Los Guerreros walking together and talking about some of their activities from this week. "Did you see that watch I got?" Chavo asks. They then come up to a door, opening it up and walking in to see the new WWE Tag Team Champions Chris Benoit and Edge, the uncle and nephew saying it's good to see them. "Y'know, Chavo and myself have been talking all day," Eddie says while pointing to the champions. "And we think that the two of you should face the two of us tonight." Edge and Benoit look at each other, get up and both go to answer at the same time, each insisting that the other respond. "I was going to say we accept." Edge says, Benoit nodding and claiming he was going to say the same. Chavo says he's glad that they're all on the same page and after he and Eddie win tonight, maybe they'll get a shot at the WWE Tag Team Championship. "We'll see about that." Chris replies as Los Guerreros then turn around and walk out of the room, the new champions looking at one another as they appear on the same page.
2) Chris Kanyon (w/The F.B.I.) def. Billy Kidman via pinfall After an impressive showing in the battle royal at WrestleMania, Kidman looks to get things going and perhaps some revenge on Kanyon for costing him in the six man tag he participated in last week. The F.B.I. on the outside ends up running some interference though, leading to the referee ejecting all three of them! As they are arguing the decision, however, Dawn Marie surprises everyone as she slides in to the ring from behind, spinning Kidman around and throwing a low blow kick! "What the hell?! Dawn Marie?!" Tazz questions. She steps out of the ring and Kanyon recovers back to his feet in order to drop Kidman with the Flatliner. He then covers, hooks both legs and gets the three count.
Kanyon grins from ear to ear as he stands back up, the rest of The F.B.I. returning to the ring to celebrate and inviting Dawn in with them, as it appears she has joined the group as they proudly stand over the body of Kidman together.
In the back, Team Angle are seen coming out of a room but are stopped right in their tracks by an appearance from The Rock. All three just stay standing still before Rock extends his hand, introducing himself. Benjamin and Haas are surprised and accept the handshake each, Rock asking what their names are and going to respond. "It doesn't matter what your names are!" He replies. "Look, The Rock sees your little get up... The Rock sees your Kurt Angle cosplay! The Rock knows the two of you know Kurt Angle and The Rock just wants you to go find Kurt Angle and let him know not to worry about a rematch with The Undertaker, Rock can handle 'em, alright?" Haas steps forward with his hands on his hips as Rock looks like he's about to leaves, telling Rock maybe he should grow a pair and do it himself, saying he ducked Undertaker earlier unlike Angle. "What'd you just say to 'The Great One', Macaulay Culkin? No, no, no, no, no! See, The Rock does things when The Rock wants to do it. See, The Rock can go to that ring whenever he wants, understand? You can't just do that! You can't just do whatever you want because you ain't The Rock. So, do The Rock a favor, know your role and shut your mouth!" Rock gives them both a stare before walking off.
3) Non-Title Match: WWE Tag Team Champions Chris Benoit and Edge def. Los Guerreros via submission A combination of fast paced and technical, the new but very good team of Benoit and Edge and the veteran family duo of Los Guerreros have a back and forth contest that lasts through a commercial break. After taking Edge out of the contest with a double team suplex on the outside, Benoit is left fending for himself. After a big comeback with chops to both Eddie and Chavo, he ends up falling to a spinning DDT from Chavo, Eddie going to the top rope for the Frog Splash only for Edge to come in to the ring and hit Chavo with a Spear! Eddie then dives off for a double axe handle but Edge manages to side-step it and Eddie is hit with a boot that turns him in to the Crippler Crossface by Benoit! Eddie scrambles in the hold, Chavo nowhere to be found. Eddie tries to fight to the ropes but Benoit rolls him back to the center of the ring and it leads to Eddie tapping out!
Edge assists his partner back to his feet and retrieves the WWE Tag Team Championship belts, the team having their arms raised as the winners. After Los Guerreros give a frustrated nod of respect on the outside, they make their way to the back and leave the champions to continue their celebration. As they go to raise the gold up once again, however, Team Angle hits the ring from behind and drops both of them! The former champions put the boots to both men before tossing them to the outside, continuing the assault from there. On opposite sides of the ring, Benoit and Edge are each thrown in to the steel steps and placed in Ankle Locks, leading to a couple more referees coming down to try and put a stop to things. "Alright, come on! That's enough!" Shouts Cole. "Benjamin and Haas have proven their point!" The two eventually let up on the hold, but the damage is done. Benjamin and Haas come back together atop the stage, smiles on their faces as Benoit and Edge are left laying.
Seen in the trainer's room groaning in pain is Paul Heyman with The Big Show and A-Train trying to be at his side only for Heyman to yell for them to leave him alone. "The two of you just couldn't get along and now here I am! Here I am!" He coughs and continues to groan, the doctors trying to get him to relax. "How can I relax?! My ribs are bro... my ribs are..." He continues to cough and just yells for Show and Train to leave, the two big men staring one another down before walking out.
Standing by elsewhere in the back is Josh Mathews as he introduces his guest at this time to be the new WWE Champion, The Undertaker. Mathews thanks him for his time and asks about Kurt Angle invoking his rematch clause for next week right here on Smackdown. "I made it pretty clear earlier, Josh, that I'd go up against anybody that dares step in to my yard. If Kurt Angle wants to step in there with me again and risk having even worse done to him than what was done at WrestleMania... then he can be my guest. I welcome the fight." He says that going forward, it's going to be more of the same because he plans on being WWE Champion for quite some time.
In the locker room finishing putting on his gear is Brian Kendrick when he is stood in front of by his recent friend/mentor Sean O'Haire, whom gives him a hand to his feet and asks if he is ready. "Oh, man, Sean, I can't thank you enough! Yes, yes I am ready for my first match as an official member of the Smackdown roster!" He says he owes it all to O'Haire, whom smiles and puts his hands together and asks Kendrick if he remembers him saying last week to be careful what he wishes for. Kendrick nods and says O'Haire has said a lot of things that have left him a bit worried but it's all worked out in the end. "You're right about that, Brian," Sean replies with a chuckle. "But the reason I warned you is because your match tonight? Is against me." Kendrick's smile slowly fades as he asks O'Haire what he is talking about, to which Sean simply shrugs his shoulders and says he'll see him out there.
4) Sean O'Haire def. Brian Kendrick via pinfall The referee calls for the bell, Kendrick still seeming in disbelief as he tries to reason with O'Haire, trying to say that they are friends. After brief hesitation from O'Haire, he turns and drills Kendrick with a boot to the face! He completely dominates on the mat and picks apart Kendrick, Brian trying to make a comeback as he fires away at Sean, flying off the ropes but being caught by the neck and tossed across the ring. O'Haire crushes Kendrick in the corner before lifting him over his shoulders, planting him with an inverted Death Valley Driver for the one, two, three.
The crowd boos O'Haire as he emerges to his feet with a twisted grin, calling for a microphone from ringside. "This was the most important lesson of them all, Brian," He says while standing over the body of Kendrick. "Welcome to Smackdown." He then drops the mike and leaves the ring.
Standing by in the back is Funaki, 'Smackdowns #1 Announcer' as he introduces the Cruiserweight Champion Matt Hardy, whom steps in to the scene with Shannon Moore as Funaki congratulates him on retaining his title at WrestleMania, Hardy quick to stop him before he can go any further. "When you follow the way of Mattitude, Funaki, anything is possible!" He says that Moore made it to WrestleMania in his corner, something that would have never happened without him. "And Mattitude, of course. I'd recommend you follow the way of Mattitude and you too could one day stand in my corner on the grandest stage of them all!" He smiles and says that he will continue to represent the Cruiserweight division and proclaims himself the 'savior' of the division from the likes of Billy Kidman and more importantly, Rey Mysterio. He then looks to Moore and says maybe they should go out there for Mysterio's upcoming match and maybe give him a few pointers in how to be a winner. He then puts his arm over Moore and the two head off together.
Back in the arena, John Cena steps out to the stage with a microphone in hand as he begins rapping about how this past Sunday he was robbed of becoming Intercontinental Champion and he's looking for some retribution. "I'm taking down Rey Mysterio, I'm runnin' this whole damn institution! That ring is mine and so is Rey's ass, he's a veteran but I'm a teacher and I'm taking him to class!" He continues going on as a commercial break comes with that match coming up next.
5) Rey Mysterio def. John Cena via pinfall As suggested prior to the break, down to ringside comes Matt Hardy and Shannon Moore, keeping their eyes on the contest as Mysterio and Cena clash their high flying and power styles. After both men end up being down off a Mysterio DDT reversal from being on Cena's shoulders, Hardy steps up to the ring and begins to give some instruction to Rey. The competitors rise and Mysterio pulls the ropes down on Cena, dropping him out to the apron. Mysterio then runs to the ropes and Cena tries to duck in to him so Rey instead launches himself over the ropes on to Hardy and Moore! Rey then slides back in to the ring and is hit with a kick to the stomach, Cena then looking for a powerbomb only for Mysterio to reverse it in to a hurricanrana with the legs hooked for the pinfall!
Mysterio gets back up to celebrate the win but it doesn't last long as Hardy comes in and jumps him from behind! Moore joins in shortly thereafter, Cena getting back to his feet and being encouraged by Hardy and Moore to join in. A three-on-one commences, eventually leading to Hardy dropping Mysterio with the Twist of Fate. He and Moore then stand side-by-side and look over at Cena, neither making a move with Hardy putting his hand out over Mysterio's body, Cena stepping forward and accepting it. "Is this a new Mattitude follower, Cole?" Asks Tazz, to which Cole says he has no idea what is going on. The three all walk around Mysterio before leaving the ring together.
The cameras pick up backstage to show General Manager Stephanie McMahon walking down the halls for her big announcement. She is, however, stopped in her tracks by The Rock. "Rock, I don't have time right now. I have to go to the ring and ma—" Rock waves his hands and says he knows, she wants to go out there and make a big announcement. "Trust The Rock, Steph, there is nothing bigger than The Rock, alright? And The Rock is ready to go out there and talk to the people! So, whatever it is, Steph, it can wait." McMahon crosses her arms, looks Rock up and down and tells him 'fine', telling him to go ahead. Rock smiles and continues on his way.
After the break, Cole and Tazz discuss how next week on Smackdown, it is official: The Undertaker will defend the WWE Championship against Kurt Angle in a WrestleMania rematch! The theme music of The Rock then hits and after hanging around all night, finally makes his presence felt as he ends up making his way down to the ring. "Finally..." He starts, stopping himself as he gets a mixed response from the crowd. "Has... has The Rock ever been to Spokane? Has anyone ever been to Spokane?! The Rock knows a guy whose ass he just whooped this passed Sunday that knows a little bit about Spokane or something close to it!" He says that he is here on Smackdown and he is here because he did what he needed to do on Raw and because Smackdown needs him. "Let's be honest! Let's be honest, everybody! Smackdown is losing everything! The Intercontinental Championship is on Raw! Hulk Hogan went to Raw, Brock Lesnar went to Raw, even The Rock went to Raw but all roads lead back to The Rock's show because Smackdown needs The Rock..." He says that he will always have Hollywood to go back to, he has a whole stack of scripts that his agent is looking at because of how great he was in 'The Scorpion King'. He says that he doesn't need Smackdown but they need him and because of that, he wants the WWE Championship. He says he understands that Undertaker and Angle have a match next week but he plans on being next in line. "And The Rock deserves it, people! The Rock deserves it for sacrificing his precious time to Smackdown! Like The Rock said, Hogan's gone, Brock's gone, nobody and The Rock means nobody is coming to save the blue brand like The Rock!" He lowers his sunglasses and looks out to the booing crowd.
He goes to say more but stops himself as a shot of the parking lot is seen on the titantron. A Humvee ends up pulling in to the parking lot. "Whoever the hell that is, watch The Rock's limousine, huh?" It slides in right next to it, Rock pacing inside the ring and looking confused. The door of the Humvee then opens and out steps Goldberg! "Who th— wait a mi— that... that's Goldberg!" Cole stammers. "Goldberg?! In WWE?! On Smackdown?!" Rock for once seems speechless from inside of the ring, music then kicking in throughout the building as one of the most dominant forces in WCW history ends up coming out to the stage! He powers through the sparks and smoke, pyros going off as he throws a couple of kicks and punches before making his way down and in to the ring. He and Rock stare from across the ring at each other, chants of Goldberg's name ringing out throughout the Spokane Arena. "You think nobody is coming to save Smackdown, huh, Rocky?" Goldberg asks with a smile. "Let's make something clear: Smackdown didn't need any saving until you showed your face earlier." He paces back and forth as Rock has some words for him off the microphone. "You think that the WWE Championship is next, huh? No, Rock, you're next!" He then tosses the mike out of the ring and charges in to Rock with a Spear! The crowd erupts as Goldberg pops back to his feet and stands over Rock's body, turning to face the hard camera as he steps up to the ropes, lifting a foot on to the second one and giving a throat slash gesture. He then continues to march around the ring as Rock is crumpled up on the outside, Cole signing things off from a thrilling end to Smackdown!

April 5, 2003: Spokane Arena in Spokane, WA
1) Rikishi def. Buddy Wayne via pinfall The heavyweight Rikishi drops Wayne right off the bat with a superkick and for a couple of minutes displays his power before going in to the corner and hitting a Banzai Drop for the pinfall.
2) Chuck Palumbo and Bill DeMott (w/Nunzio and Chris Kanyon) def. Tony Gordina and Jay Holenback via pinfall The tallest and heaviest of The F.B.I. dominate the contest against locals Gordina and Holenback, a short burst from Holenback leading to a big boot from Palumbo while not the legal man. Gordina is then caught with a superkick to the back of the head, DeMott proceeding to hit Holenback with a big Moonsault from off the top rope for the win. The F.B.I. stand tall together in the ring after the match.
3) Jamie Noble (w/Nidia) def. Tajiri via pinfall A very competitive cruiserweight contest, things go back-and-forth for a while with Tajiri putting Noble in the Tarantula at one point. As the referee calls for the break, Tajiri lets go and Nidia grabs his leg, allowing Noble to throw Tajiri face first in to the ring post. Noble then brings Tajiri in the ring and hits him with a sit-out Double Underhook Powerbomb and it earns him the victory. April 6, 2003: Key Arena in Seattle, WA
1) Christopher Nowinski def. Al Snow via pinfall Jonathan Coachman, sitting alongside Lita tonight, explains Nowinski had criticism of Snow during the week and it led to this match being made. After tossing Head in to the barricade out of frustration, Snow chases after Nowinski before picking Head back up. He then returns to the ring but walks right in to Nowinski's grasp for the Honor Roll which leads to the Harvard graduate getting the pinfall.
2) The Hurricane def. Rico (w/3 Minute Warning) via pinfall Hurricane dominates the match out of the gate and looks to be on the verge of a quick win until he is yanked under the ropes by Jamal and Rosey. Rico throws himself over the ropes but Hurricane avoids it and Rico ends up landing in to his 3 Minute Warning running buddies! Hurricane then brings Rico back in to the ring, goes to the top rope and hits a big crossbody. After a two count, he gets back up, ducks a spinning kick and nails the Eye of The Hurricane for the three count. 3MW rolls in to the ring after the bell but Hurricane rolls under the ropes and escapes before any harm can be done.
3) Christian def. Spike Dudley via pinfall The scrappy little brother of Bubba Ray and D-Von surprises Christian after a cocky start. Following a close two count on a backslide, Christian hits a hard clothesline. He again starts to toy with Spike and it almost costs him again, leading to him stumbling in to the corner. After a drop toe hold in to the middle turnbuckle, however, Christian ends up putting Spike away with the Unprettier.

April 7, 2003: Bradley Center in Milwaukee, WI
The show begins with General Manager Eric Bischoff seen in his office talking on the phone, complaining about losing The Rock to Smackdown and Goldberg signing with them. The door opens behind him and he tells the other line he'll call them back as Brock Lesnar, the World Heavyweight Champion, walks up to him. "Did I just hear you worrying about The Rock? Goldberg?" Lesnar asks with a laugh. "Eric, you've got me, the World Heavyweight Champion. I left Smackdown to come here, in case you forgot." Bischoff says he knows and understands that and he appreciates Lesnar being a part of the brand but 'The Next Big Thing' stops him there, saying that's enough kissing ass. "I know you and Triple H are close, Eric. You handed him this championship belt after all... but unlike Hunter, I want to defend it and I want to defend it tonight." Bischoff seems caught off guard by that and tells Lesnar he isn't opposed to that, but he isn't going to put him versus Triple H on free TV — this isn't Smackdown. Lesnar says that he's sure he and HHH aren't through, but he doesn't care who he faces. "Whoever has the balls to step up to me, I'll face them and defend my World Heavyweight Championship." Bischoff says it sounds good, Lesnar proceeding to leave the room.
Inside of the Bradley Center, Jim Ross and Jerry 'The King' Lawler give an official welcome to the show and talk about the big news we just heard, saying how we already had one big match for tonight in Kevin Nash versus Chris Jericho, but now we have a World Heavyweight Championship match to take place as well! The theme music of Booker T then hits and the former five-time WCW World Champion proceeds to make his way down and in to the ring. "Last week, Goldust, my brother, I gave you a chance to tell me what is going on with you! To give me answers why you turned your back on me!" He says all he got in return was another low blow and a beat down by orders of Chief Morley. "So, as much as I don't want to... I'm not afraid to beat some answers out of your punk ass! So get on out here and man up, Goldy!" After waiting a little bit, the music of Chief Morley instead hits and he steps out to the stage to boos from the Milwaukee fans. "Enough of that!" He says to the crowd. "Booker, you really want a piece of Goldust, huh? You want to fight your former best friend?!" Booker says that's exactly what he wants, so Morley steps to the side and gestures his hand out, Goldust slowly stepping out to his side. "Do you people want to see this happen?" He asks the crowd to cheers and he looks over to Goldust, whom gives a slow nod as Morley prepares to send him to the ring. Instead, however, Goldust gets a hand to the chest as he begins to walk. "On second thought, Book, I think I've got a better idea. Tonight, you'll get a match... but not against Goldust." The cheers once again turn to boos as Morley then proceeds to announce William Regal as Booker's opponent, the Englishman making his way out with a grin and Lance Storm at his side. 1) Booker T def. William Regal (w/Lance Storm) via pinfall Fired up and clearly not happy about getting his shot at Goldust, Booker is ruthless with Regal to start things off. Interference from Storm allows Regal to take things to the mat and try and wear down Booker, the crowd getting behind him, however, as Booker makes a big comeback. After a big leaping side kick, Booker knocks Storm off the apron with a punch, ducks a Regal strike and kicks him in the gut before nailing the Scissors Kick in the middle of the ring for the one, two, three.Booker gets back to his feet and points at Morley and Goldust up the ramp but doesn't get much chance to celebrate as Storm comes in to the ring and attacks from behind. During the attack, Morley leads Goldust to the back but in the ring, Booker fights back against Storm and ends up laying him out with the Book End. He then hops right back up and returns his attention toward the stage to see the two gone. Frustrated, Booker stomps on Regal before leaving the ring and heading up the ramp.
Seen in the locker room post-break is Kevin Nash and Shawn Michaels, 'The Heart Break Kid' telling Nash he's glad he's back and is looking forward to seeing him back in the ring, but warns him that Jericho is a slimeball and has Christian watching his back, so he'll have Nash's tonight. "Y'know, Shawn," Nash replies with a chuckle. "I have been waiting nine months to get back in the ring. Nine long months to get back to doing what I do best... so, if Christian wants a piece of me along with Jericho? Then he'll have to answer to my big boot..." Michaels says he likes the sounds of that, but asks if that big boot can also feature some Sweet Chin Music. Nash smiles back and says 'always'.2) Ric Flair (w/Batista) def. Tommy Dreamer via pinfall Each man looks to gain revenge on the other, Flair for Dreamer upsetting Triple H last month and Dreamer for Evolution putting him through hell for it. Flair shows off his veteran in ring prowess and gets cocky, allowing Dreamer to get back in to things. After a back body drop, he whips Flair in to the corner and the legend hits the referee! Dreamer doesn't stop and hits a DDT but it leads to Batista coming in to the ring and plowing through Tommy with a clothesline. After a sit-out powerbomb, Flair crawls over for the pin and Batista stirs the referee to move over and make the three count.
The Bradley Center boos as Flair gets back to his feet with the assistance of Batista, the duo raising their arms up together as Flair throws a couple more boots to Dreamer. The official steps in to put a stop to it, Batista encouraging Flair to leave as the damage is done and the match is won.
Seen stepping out of his office is Eric Bischoff and he is startled as standing outside of the room waiting for him is Triple H. "Are you serious, Eric?!" He questions angrily, talking over the Raw General Manager's stammering. "What the hell is going on?! You're just going to let anybody challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship tonight?! That's my title shot!" Bischoff puts his hands up and tells Hunter to calm down, explaining to him that he can't just have Brock Lesnar versus Triple H without any advertisement, it'd be his head by the network and WWE executives. "But think of it this way, Hunter, you've got your rematch! Whether or not Brock Lesnar walks out tonight the World Heavyweight Champion, you're going to be getting your rematch at Backlash." HHH places his hands on his hips and thinks to himself briefly before telling Bischoff that's fine, but whether or not it's Lesnar at Backlash, he's far from finished with him. He then walks off from Bischoff.
Elsewhere in the back, Victoria is seen pacing back and forth and pulling at her hair when she is ran up to by Stevie Richards. "Vic! Vic! I've got great news!" He grabs her by the shoulders and says that he got her a match with Jazz this Sunday on Heat. Victoria's eye twitches and she shoves Richards back. "Why?! Why?! So you can screw things up for me again?!" She shakes her head and says that she didn't ask for this and storms off, Richards left throwing his hands up and looking confused.
Seen preparing for his match by himself is Brock Lesnar, the World Heavyweight Champion being suddenly approached by Scott Steiner. "Hey, Lesnar!" He shouts. "I hear you're lookin' for a fight, huh?! How about you go toe-to-toe with 'Freakzilla'?!" Lesnar looks up and down at Lesnar with a smirk, saying it sounds good to him. "But why wait, Scotty? Why don't we head down to the ring right now because I'm ready to face anyone at anytime." Steiner stares at Lesnar and points in his face, saying he'll see him out there and he'll finally bring home the World Heavyweight Championship!
3) World Heavyweight Championship: Brock Lesnar(c) def. Scott Steiner via pinfall The match begins with a collar-and-elbow tie up with Lesnar surprising Steiner by flooring him to the mat relatively quickly. Despite a few brief moments of Steiner displaying his power, Lesnar continues to completely dominate the match. After Lesnar steps out of a belly-to-belly grip, he drives Steiner in to the corner with full force before hoisting him over his shoulders and nailing a big F-5 in the middle of the ring! Lesnar then proceeds to hook both legs and get the pinfall!
Lesnar pushes himself right back up and is presented with the World Heavyweight Championship belt. "Have you ever seen Scott Steiner dominated like that, J.R.?!" Asks Lawler. "The 'Next Big Thing' just ran through 'Big Poppa Pump'!" Lesnar exits the ring and heads to the back, still the champion as Steiner is left looking totally lost as the referee checks on him.
In the back, Jonathan Coachman stands by as he introduces D'Lo Brown and Maven as his guests, congratulating them on their recent success. "D'Lo and I came together due to a common enemy," Maven says. "Now, we're the fastest rising tag team on Raw." D'Lo agrees and says that his opinion of Maven has completely changed and the way he sees it, they're well on their way to being future World Tag Team Champions. The duo are then approached by The Dudley Boyz, Bubba asking if they are serious. "The two of you have been around for a cup of coffee while we've been running the tag team scene not just in the WWE — but the entire world — over the last half decade." He says that they're in for a taste of reality in their match tonight. "Oh, my brother, testify!" D-Von adds afterward.
In the office of Eric Bischoff once again, this time the General Manager is talking to Molly Holly when the door opens and in walks Jazz and Theodore Long. "What's going on here, playa?" Long asks, Bischoff explaining that Molly was explaining her case for a Women's Championship match next week on Raw. Jazz scoffs and says Molly only beat Trish Stratus last week because of her and Teddy. "I don't need anyone's help. I'll beat Trish one-two-three in the middle of that ring. Then, when I'm the Women's Champion, you can step up and face me, bitch!" She then walks out of the room, Jazz having to be held back by Long as Bischoff tells her to save it for another time.
4) The Dudley Boyz def. D'Lo Brown and Maven via pinfall Bubba Ray and D-Von control the match at the start, working over the youngster Maven until a hot tag is made to D'Lo, whom comes in and cleans house. After a sit-out spinebuster on D-Von almost gets the victory, Bubba runs in and breaks the pin up and pandemonium ensues. Maven tries to help D'Lo out but after getting tossed over the ropes, Brown is left to fall to the 3D and be defeated.
Bubba Ray and D-Von stand tall together and have some words for Brown as they stand over him when down from the back comes Rob Van Dam and Kane, perhaps looking for some revenge after last week as they take it right to The Dudley Boyz! Kane ends up dropping D-Von with a Chokeslam and Bubba with a big boot, RVD then exiting the ring before returning with a steel chair in hand. The World Tag Team Champions give each other a nod, Kane dragging Bubba to his feet and throwing him toward RVD for the Van Daminator! Bubba Ray and D-Von roll out of the ring together as Kane raises his arms over his head before bringing them down — his signature pyro hitting the ringposts.
Walking in the back is Stacy Keibler, calling Test's name as she says it's time for his match. She approaches a locker room but an arm is put in front of her, Randy Orton standing her way with a grin. "Hey, Stacy, I didn't hear from you after the show last week. What's going on? Don't you want to hang with a third generation stud? Don't you want to hang with the high rollers like Evolution and not these losers like Test?" Keibler looks disgusted with him, Test coming out from the room behind Orton and asking what the hell he is doing. "Stace, is he bugging you again?" Keibler says that Orton was just leaving, to which Randy winks, turns around and walks off. "Come on, your match is next." Stacy says, Test with a nod as he takes her by the hand and they continue on their way.
5) Test (w/Stacy Keibler) def. Rico (w/3 Minute Warning) via pinfall Rico gets in some early offense but after going to the top rope, Test takes hold of him and launches him across the ring. Rosey and Jamal try to get involved but Test manages to overcome it, managing to put Rico down with the Pump Handle Slam and get the three count on the cover.
Keibler gets in to the ring to celebrate along with Test as 3 Minute Warning pull Rico out under the bottom rope. Randy Orton, however, puts a stop to the celebration as he appears atop the stage and calls for Test's music to be cut. "Hey, Stacy," Test walks up to the ropes as Keibler takes him by the arm to try and keep him in the ring. "What do you say you get out of that ring and spend your night with a guy that's actually in your league?" Test has heard enough and steps through the ropes, but as soon as he hits the floor he is met with a clothesline from Jamal! Keibler screams out for her boyfriend as he staggers back to his feet against the ring post, being splashed in to it by Rosey! Orton watches on from atop the stage before locking eyes with Keibler as she is at the side of her boyfriend, blowing her a kiss with a wink before returning backstage.
Ahead of the main event, Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho and Christian are together in the back discussing Jericho's upcoming match when Jericho puts a stop to Christian talking about taking out Nash and Michaels tonight. "I've got this one, Christian," Jericho says. "I'm the fightingest champion on Raw and I'm going to go out there and beat Kevin Nash mono e mono. That is if Big Kev can make it across the ring without tearing his quad!" The two share a laugh, Jericho then getting back to being serious and telling Christian he means it — he's sticking to his plan. Christian, albeit confused, tells Jericho he's got it and the Intercontinental Champion leaves the room.
6) Non-Title Match: Kevin Nash def. Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho via disqualification The match gets under way but not far in to it, after Jericho is pushed in to the corner, he stands back up, takes a few steps and falls to the mat holding the back of his leg. Nash believes Jericho is mocking his quadriceps injury. The referee intervenes, however, backing Nash off and raising his arms up in an 'X' toward the back. "I think in a cruel twist of irony, Jericho is seriously injured here..." J.R. comments. Nash has his hands on his hips when sliding in to the ring from behind is Christian, coming up behind Nash with a 2x4 board in his hand! Nash falls to the mat after the board is broken across his back, the official getting up and turning to question Christian's presence. Jericho then quickly gets to his feet and shares a laugh with Christian as he was clearly faking his injury. The two then start to put the boots to Nash — forcing the referee to call for the bell.
The beat down continues as Ross is in disgust on commentary. "Jericho pretends to have a serious injury just so he and Christian could beat Kevin Nash up!" He yells. The crowd begins to roar though as Shawn Michaels races down from the back, getting in to the ring and meeting Jericho with a big punch, then Christian. He keeps teeing off on Christian in the corner but turns to a shot to the stomach with one half of the broken 2x4 to the gut by Jericho! A shot across the back follows as Jericho then tosses the piece over to Christian, whom dives behind Nash to hit him in the back of the leg with it. Y2J proceeds to apply the Walls of Jericho on Michaels, Christian meanwhile driving the 2x4 piece to the throat of Nash. The referee continues to call for the bell and tries to put a stop to things, Jericho and Christian refuse to let up until they feel satisfied with the assault. The duo hug one another and raise their arms in celebration, Jericho demanding his Intercontinental Championship belt from ringside. He and Christian have some choice words for Nash and Michaels before leaving, J.R. preparing to sign things off for Raw only for the cameras to pick up backstage...
To Triple H attacking Brock Lesnar in the parking lot! The World Heavyweight Champion is busted open as he is slammed through a car window, sliding down to the ground afterward and barely even conscious. HHH kneels down next to Lesnar, breathing heavily. "Good job tonight... but I'm taking you home at Backlash..." He then pulls up the World Heavyweight Championship belt next to Lesnar's bloodied face before dropping it in his lap as the cameras fade to black and the show concludes.

April 10, 2003: AllState Arena in Chicago, IL
The opening video for Smackdown airs, the cameras then entering the AllState Arena from Chicago as the stage is brightened by pyrotechnics, the voice of Michael Cole at ringside welcoming everyone to the show alongside Tazz on a night where we will see a WrestleMania rematch when The Undertaker defends the WWE Championship against Kurt Angle! But that is later on, because right now we are diving straight in to the action with two of the nastiest superstars Smackdown has to offer! 1) Rhyno def. The Big Show via count out Perhaps seeking vengeance for what happened to Paul Heyman last week, Show comes out and overpowers Rhyno, tossing him all around the ring. 'The Man Beast' responds with powerful strikes and uses everything he has to bring Show down a few times. After being caught by the throat, Rhyno slips free of the Chokeslam in mid-air and comes off the ropes, hitting Show with a Gore! The seven footer rolls to the outside and Rhyno follows after him, taking a moment to catch his breath before charging through Show with a second Gore on to the outside floor! Rhyno pulls himself back to his feet via the apron and rolls back in to the ring, the referee continuing his count. Show staggers back to his feet against the announce table at eight, but doesn't make it back in to the ring by ten!
Show's eyes widen as he holds on to the ropes, realizing he has just been counted out. Rhyno is announced as the winner, prompting Show to kick the steel steps and pace back and forth on the outside. Rhyno exits the ring and the referee leans between the ropes to try and get Show to leave. The giant doesn't take kindly to the orders, however, and instead gets on to the apron. He then steps over the ropes and begins to corner the referee, putting his hands up after some pleading. "I know The Big Show is upset but trying to intimidate a referee isn't the way to do things!" Says Cole. Show then suddenly takes the referee by the throat and drops him with a spinning Chokeslam to the center of the ring! The crowd boos as Show gets to his feet and towers over the motionless official.
Transitioning to the back, The Rock is seen walking down the halls and looking over his shoulder repeatedly. He is startled when Smackdown General Manager Stephanie McMahon walks in front of him. "Holy crap, Stephanie! Don't scare The Rock like that!" McMahon smiles and apologizes, saying she has been waiting for Rock to show up because after last week, she wanted to let him know that at Backlash, she has set up a match between him and Goldberg. "That is, unless you don't want to... or, perhaps, you're afraid?" Rock puts his hands up and tells Stephanie that he'll make it very clear that he isn't afraid of Goldberg. "The Rock isn't afraid of Bill Goldberg, no, no, no! As a matter of fact, The Rock ain't afraid of nobody, Steph! The Rock will whoop that ass at Backlash no problem!' McMahon says she's glad to hear it, but Rock isn't done as he questions if McMahon doesn't believe him. "You don't believe The Rock, do you? You don't believe that he's not afraid of Goldberg, ain't afraid of absolutely nobody! Tell you what, Steph, The Rock is ready to compete tonight. Oh yeah, The Rock is ready to compete and will compete tonight right here on Smackdown in the middle of that ring! Hell, The Rock will face the next son of a gun he comes across!" McMahon tries to tell him that isn't necessary but he ignores her, taking a few steps down the hall before stopping as sitting on a production trunk talking to a couple of fans with VIP passes is Rey Mysterio. Rock asks the two fans to excuse him as he looks up and down at Mysterio and asks how he'd like to go one-on-one with 'The Great One' tonight. Rock then looks to the fans and asks if they'd like to see that. "A match with The Rock?" Mysterio replies. "Shoot, I'm up for it." Rock says that's great and turns to ask McMahon if she heard that, to which she says it sounds like an amazing match to her, it's on. "Yeah, what a match, indeed. You've got one of the most electrifying superstars in the history of this business, one of the fastest rising stars this company has ever seen, fans all around the world wanting to wear that face... and, of course, little ol' Rey Mysterio, too." Rey says that's funny, but we'll see who is laughing when he beats The Rock in the middle of the ring tonight 1-2-3 with the 6-1-9. Mysterio then walks away, Rock removing his sunglasses and watching as he heads off.
Following the commercial break, earlier footage is seen as the front of a bar is seen. The cameras then go inside where The F.B.I. are hanging out, the newest member Dawn Marie sitting at a stool as a couple of the others play pool while the rest watch. "Y'know, it's a tough world for women like me in this business." She says, adding that she's glad to finally have some family by her side. Nunzio tells her that he's glad that she is here, addressing her by her full name multiple times in the process. "As long as you got our back, we've got yours. The F.B.I. rides or dies together..." He then turns to DeMott. "So tonight, 'HaHa' Bill DeMott... last week, our boy Kanyon took care of Billy Kidman. Tonight, it's your turn." DeMott takes a long drag off of his cigar, begins to laugh and then goes stone face. "Kidman is a dead man." He says as Palumbo calls for drinks from the bartender.Seen stomping through the halls back inside of the arena is The Big Show, a production crew member nervously coming up to him to inform him Stephanie McMahon is looking for him. "Oh, really?" Show asks. "Stephanie wants to see me? How about you deliver a message to her for me instead." He then takes the man by the throat and chucks him back first in to the wall behind him! Show breaths heavily over the crew member before continuing on his way.
Standing by in another part of the backstage area is Josh Mathews, introducing his guest at this time to be Kurt Angle. Mathews brings up the WWE Championship rematch tonight and asks Angle if he thinks he is more prepared than he was at WrestleMania. "Seriously?" Angle asks, seeming offended. "Haven't you ever heard of a fluke? Because that's exactly what that was at WrestleMania. It had nothing to do with me being prepared because I am always prepared! I am the absolute freakin' best in that ring and I prove it every single night!" He says that just because Undertaker put him in what he considers a blatant choke hold and illegal and got away with it doesn't mean anything. Angle says things will be back to normal when he walks out WWE Champion here tonight and walks away.
2) Billy Kidman def. Bill DeMott (w/The F.B.I.) via pinfall After last week's involvement from Dawn Marie, Kidman seems to be very alert of things but it doesn't stop The F.B.I. from getting involved. After taking DeMott down with an enzuigiri, Kidman goes for the cover but Nunzio, Palumbo and Kanyon are distracting the referee on the outside. Kidman turns his attention to them and proceeds to launch himself over the ropes with a crossbody on to all three of them! Marie gets on to the apron as Kidman rolls back in to the ring and it allows DeMott to hit Kidman from behind with a clothesline. As he heads to the corner, Torrie Wilson ends up racing down to the ring and pulling Marie down and hitting her face first off the apron! The two then begin to have a catfight, distracting DeMott as he is on the second rope and allowing Kidman to come up from behind and pull him down with a powerbomb that he rolls through in to a bridge for the three count!
The men from The F.B.I. go to hit the ring only for Kidman to slide out before they can do any harm. As they circle the ring and help DeMott back up, Kidman makes his way to the top of the stage at the side of Wilson, the two sharing a smile before raising their arms together.
In the back, Shannon Moore is seen wearing a backwards hat and rapping to John Cena when the two of them are approached by Cruiserweight Champion Matt Hardy. "What in tarnation is going on here?!" He questions, although not letting Moore answer and asking Cena if he is trying to steal Moore from him and alter his personality. Cena laughs it off, The Rock meanwhile passing them by and stopping in his tracks as Hardy keeps questioning Cena, prompting to ask Rock what the problem is. "It appears Shannon here is breaking away from Mattitude!" Rock goes to reply but stops, pulling off his sunglasses as he looks up and down at Hardy. "What the hell is that? 'Mattitude'? Sounds like some sort of skin disorder... a way of life? Maybe Shannon doesn't want to swing that way, huh? I don't want to speak for Malibu's Most Wanted over there but..." Hardy puts his hands up to tell Rock that isn't what he meant but dismisses it, saying he is looking forward to Rock beating the hell out of Rey Mysterio just like he himself did at WrestleMania. "It's going to be easy, baby!" Rock replies proudly. "It's going to be easy just like when The Rock gets his hands on Bill Goldberg, yeah! The Rock ain't afraid of nobody and The Rock damn sure ain't afraid of that bald Jewish law firm named son of a bitch!" As he is laughing, Moore points out that Rock is also bald, causing 'The Great One' to stop and tell him there's a difference — this is a choice. "Know your role and shut your mouth, boy. Now, excuse The Rock... he's got a match to win." He adds that after he's done, they can feel free to pick up the scraps of his ass whooping on 'little' Rey Mysterio.
3) The Rock def. Rey Mysterio via pinfall Mocking Mysterio after knocking him down multiple times, Rock is caught off guard when Mysterio comes at him with hard kicks and high flying take downs. After a 619 attempt it avoided by Rock and he rolls to the outside, a commercial break comes. After the time away, Rock controls the match on the mat and again ends up getting cocky, allowing Mysterio to once again get back in to the contest. After a hurricanrana leads to a close two count, Mysterio gets up and trips Rock in to the ropes in position for the 619 but Rock manages to avoid it this time, catching Mysterio with a spinebuster and then kicking his arms in for the People's Elbow, only for Rey to hit him with a boot to the face when he takes too much time coming back. Mysterio then hits a springboard bulldog and heads out to the apron, pointing to the sky before launching himself off the ropes only to end being side-stepped on the jump, leading to him turning right in to the Rock Bottom! He is then covered for the pinfall.
Rock gets to his feet and refuses to allow the official to raise his arm up, trash talking Mysterio some. Down to the ring comes Cruiserweight Champion Matt Hardy, Shannon Moore and John Cena, the three appearing to take Rock up on his offer as they come in and begin a beat down on Mysterio. Rock stands behind them and gives some encouragement, the crowd then erupting as the theme music of Goldberg hits! The beat down continues, Rock looking back and forth between that and Goldberg making his way out from the back! He heads down to the ring and Rock backs down quickly, Goldberg catching a charging Cena with a clothesline that turns him inside out! He ducks a strike from Hardy and ends up catching him with a big Spear! As Rock stumbles up the ramp, Goldberg locks eyes with him and points his way. Moore ends up jumping on Goldberg's back and applying a sleeper hold but Goldberg isn't phased by it, tossing Moore over his shoulder before dragging him up via his hair and hooking hold of his neck — hoisting Moore off the mat and planting him back down with a Jackhammer! "Goldberg with a statement!" Cole yells. He leans across the ropes and continues to point toward Rock as they'll be seeing each other at Backlash!
In the back, Brian Kendrick is seen when he is approached by Sean O'Haire. "I taught you a very important lesson last week by telling you to be careful what you wish for. A lot of people, however, Brian, claim you showed last week that you don't belong! But I still have faith in you." Kendrick says he thought Sean was his friend, O'Haire saying they're still friends despite what happened last week and he just wants to help him. "That's why i got you another match tonight to prove all the doubters wrong because now, you've been prepared and ready." He questions if Kendrick really wants to be a Smackdown superstar, to which Kendrick says of course he does. "So go out there and prove it." O'Haire replies. "Because if you don't, you'll forever be known as a coward. But, hey, I'm not telling you anything you don't already know." He pats Kendrick on the shoulder and leaves the room.
Walking in the back and looking through the halls is Stephanie McMahon when she is approached by Josh Mathews, McMahon asking Mathews if he has seen The Big Show. Mathews explains that is why he came to find her, because The Big Show has left the building. He asks her what she is going to do based on Show's actions tonight. "The Big Show will face repercussions for his behavior, Josh, when I see him in the middle of the ring next week." She thanks Josh and continues on her way.
4) A-Train def. Brian Kendrick via pinfall Perhaps understandably, Kendrick doesn't seem interested in getting things underway. Thus, A-Train charges in to him and crushes him in the corner. After a big clothesline and a press slam, A-Train just kicks Kendrick around until hitting the Derailer, leading to him getting the easy one, two, three.
Kendrick is completely laid out as A-Train gets to his feet, towering over his body. He then demands a microphone from ringside and comes back over Kendrick. "Let me make one thing clear... I don't feel bad about what happened to Paul Heyman last week... because nobody controls me! Nobody! If I want to get in somebody's face, I'll get in their face! And if I want to break someone in half, I'll break them in half!" He throws the microphone down, drags Kendrick back up by the hair and launches him full force shoulder first between the turnbuckles and in to the ring post! Kendrick flops down to the floor and the referee races to check on him as A-Train raises his fists up to the booing crowd.
Seen in the locker room area rummaging through bags are Los Guerreros, the former WWE Tag Team Champions pulling a bra out and raising their eyes in disbelief at it. In to the room then walks the couple of Jamie Noble and Nidia. "What are you two doing in my stuff?!" Noble asks, Eddie looking to Chavo and saying Noble's right, this isn't their bag, because the mamacitas they hang out with aren't stuffing their bras! Nidia gets quickly offended and tells Noble to do something about this, Jamie nervously demanding they get out o here. "Wow," Chavo responds. "You really showed us, Jamie. We're sorry." They hand the bra back over and leave the room, Noble looking to Nidia and asking how that was. She is proud of him but he turns to go back to his bag only to realize it is gone! "Those damn Guerreros!" He shouts, putting his hands on his hips and muttering under his breath.
Josh Mathews is standing by in the back and introduces the WWE Champion, The Undertaker, as his guest at this time ahead of the upcoming main event. Mathews mentions how Kurt Angle called Undertaker's win at WrestleMania a fluke, prompting a laugh from the champion. "Kurt may be one of the best in that ring but that is my yard. That's why I won at WrestleMania. That's why I'm going to win tonight. So, Kurt can call it what he wants but he's in for a world of hurt and a world of defeat once again." Taker then walks away with the WWE Championship match coming up next!
5) WWE Championship: The Undertaker(c) vs Kurt Angle goes to a no contest The bell sounds and Angle brings Taker down over and over and looks to try and get an early pin to no avail. After slipping free of a Chokeslam attempt, he chops the leg out from behind and applies an early Ankle Lock. Taker, still fresh, manages to roll through it and send Angle to the outside, Angle back to his feet and angry and turning right in to a big boot from the champion. The match goes through a break, things very back and forth afterward with each man pulling out their signature moves for near falls. After Angle slips out of the Last Ride, however, he pushes Taker in to the referee and crushes him in the corner. An Angle Slam follows that but with no official, there is nobody to make the count. Angle tries to shake the referee but gets nothing out of him, then returning his attention to Taker only to be pulled in to the triangle chokehold he lost to at WrestleMania! "Dead Man's Hand!" Cole exclaims. "Undertaker with what he calls The Dead Man's Hand!" Angle scrambles and kicks his legs, trying to get free but to no avail as he begins to tap out! Still no referee, however, and Taker refuses to let go of the hold. Team Angle then comes running down to the ring, Haas and Benjamin immediately on the attack of the WWE Champion and helping their leader out of the grasp. Angle eventually regroups in the corner and he proceeds to join in on the beat down, the boos of the Chicago fans turning in to cheers as Chris Benoit and Edge come storming down to the ring to even things up! Taker gets back to his feet and a three-on-three showdown is under way, the referee finally stirring from the corner and, with no control over things, calls for the bell to throw the match out.
The battle continues between the two sides, Angle on his own after Haas and Benjamin are knocked down. Kurt tries to fight against the three but ends up getting caught in the grasp of Benoit, whom tries to bring the Olympic Gold Medalist down in to the Crippler Crossface! Haas and Benjamin grab Angle's legs from the outside and work together to pull him under the bottom rope before the hold can be locked in, the trio backing down from the ring quickly. Taker, Edge and Benoit in the mean time stand tall, motioning for their adversaries to return to the fight as Smackdown comes to an end!

April 12, 2003: AllState Arena in Chicago, IL
1) John Cena (w/Shannon Moore) def. Funaki via pinfall Continuing his association with Cena, Moore is decked out in hip-hop inspired gear on the outside. Funaki ends up flying in to him off the apron, but returns to the ring straight in to a clothesline followed by the Throwback, which leads to Cena hooking both legs for the pinfall.
2) Sean O'Haire def. Jimmy Yang via pinfall After a successful in-ring debut on Smackdown last week, O'Haire brutally runs through Yang here. After Yang puts up a fight in the corner, he goes to the top rope and attempts a crossbody only to be side-stepped. O'Haire proceeds to run right through him with a big boot followed by his signature Inverted Death Valley Driver, resulting in him getting the one, two, three.
3) Non-Title Match: WWE Tag Team Champions Chris Benoit and Edge def. Tyson Dux and Chad Collyer via submission In just their second match as WWE Tag Team Champions, Benoit and Edge work well together against local talent Dux and Collyer, Benoit hitting a top rope headbutt on Dux. Collyer tries to get involved but is cut off mid-ring by Edge with a Spear, leading to Benoit placing Dux in the Crippler Crossface, a brief struggle leading to a tap out in the center of the ring. April 13, 2003: Bradley Center in Milwaukee, WI
1) Randy Orton def. Ken Anderson via pinfall Prior to the contest, Orton gets on the microphone and dedicates the match to Stacy Keibler. Anderson attacks him from behind to begin things as he is taking too long to get the match started. The local gets fired up but Orton ends up driving him down with a big dropkick. An inverted headlock backbreaker a minute or so later leads to Orton getting the victory. He gets back to his feet after the bell and looks in to the camera, giving a wink and blowing a kiss. This leads to Test charging down from the back! "Don't mess with another man's girlfriend - especially if his name is Test!" Warns Coachman. Orton is quick to hop through the ropes and hightail it over the barricade and through the crowd, Test left leaning against the ropes and pointing in direction of Evolution's cocky youngster.
2) Christopher Nowinski def. The Hurricane via pinfall A competitive bout between the serious Harvard graduate and the fun-loving high flying Hurricane. After the Honor Roll only gets Nowinski a two count, he argues with the referee. He brings Hurricane back to his feet, the super hero coming back at him with strikes and chops. After a big tornado DDT, Hurricane goes to the top rope. Nowinski gets up and Hurricane delivers a crossbody, Nowinski rolling through on it and hooking the tights of Hurricane in a small package for a one, two, three! Nowinski rolls out of the ring quickly, Hurricane back up with his hands on his hips in disbelief and anger.
3) Spike Dudley def. Chad Collyer via pinfall Having come up short on Velocity last night, Collyer gets another shot on Heat but Spike is game, not letting Collyer get much in as he ends up winning it with a big Dudley Dog.
4) Jazz (w/Theodore Long) def. Victoria (w/Stevie Richards) via pinfall A rematch of the Women's Championship match at No Way Out, the two women give it all they've got. Victoria goes for the Widow's Peak but Jazz manages to slide down the back, catching Victoria by the neck on a charge and launching her in to the ring post shoulder first, the Bitch Clamp not coming too long after as Jazz rolls Victoria over, hooks both legs and gets the pinfall.

The Monday Night Raw opening video airs, the cameras enter the Richmond Coliseum from Richmond, Virginia, the stage hit by pyrotechnics as Jim Ross and Jerry 'The King' Lawler welcome all to the show. They bring attention to a steel cage hanging above the ring, saying they don't know of a Steel Cage Match, but it has to be there for a reason and hopefully we'll find out soon! But right now, we're diving straight in to the action as the Women's Championship is on the line! 1) Women's Championship: Trish Stratus(c) def. Molly Holly via pinfall Having beaten the new Women's Champion two weeks ago with the assistance of Jazz and Theodore Long, Molly vowed last Monday to win without their help this week. Both women are on top of their game, Stratus able to survive a Molly-Go-Round to the shock of Holly. The challenger stays on the attack but Stratus mounts a comeback, eventually putting Molly away with Stratusfaction.Stratus stirs back to her feet, holding her neck as the referee hands over the Women's Championship and raises her arm. The music of Jazz hits, however, and she comes out with Theodore Long. The two make their way down to the ring, Stratus ready for a fight. She circles the ring along with Jazz but instead of going after Trish, Jazz drags Molly up by the hair in order to put her down with the Bitch Clamp! Stratus watches from the corner, Long speaking on a microphone from the outside. "You see that, Trish?! You see that, playa?!" He asks. "That's your future! See, the bitch is black and she is bringing the Women's Championship back at Backlash!" Jazz walks up to Stratus and stares her up and down before leaving the ring and returning to the back with Long.
Cutting backstage, Tommy Dreamer is seen when he is approached by Ric Flair. "Hey, Tommy!" Flair says to catch Dreamer's attention, quick to put his hands up and clarify he isn't here to pick a fight. "Not right now, anyway. You see that cage out there above that ring, Tommy?" He asks, Dreamer asking what about it. Flair explains that the cage is for him, confusing Tommy. "Think about it. Think about the days where I faced the likes of Sting, Dusty Rhodes, Harley Race inside of that cage! Now... it's time for you to do it! It's your time! What do you say, huh?" Dreamer rubs his hands together with a grin and tells Flair he's on, he'll see him out there. 'The Nature Boy' tells Dreamer to slow his roll, because he wasn't talking about facing him. Up to Flair's side then comes Triple H, the former World Heavyweight Champion with a grin on his face as he removes his sunglasses. "And this time, Tommy, when you face me... there's not going to be anybody to help you." The two stare down briefly before HHH turns around, walking away from Dreamer alongside Flair.
Arriving after the break are The Dudley Boyz, Bubba Ray and D-Von each with a table in their hand as they enter the ring with them. They set them up in separate corners before Bubba reaches in to his pockets, pulling out two spray paint cans and tossing one over to D-Von. "What's going on here?" Asks Lawler. The two then proceed to spray 'KANE' and 'RVD' respectively on the tables before coming to the middle of the ring, D-Von handing over a microphone to his brother. "So, Kane... RVD... you think you're the best tag team around, huh? Since you got lucky at WrestleMania, our business has clearly not been finished. So, if you are so good, how about you defend the World Tag Team Championship in our style of match?" He points to the tables and says they've already got two with their names on them, all they need to do is step up and accept the challenge.
Out from the back comes the World Tag Team Champions Kane and Rob Van Dam, the two staying on the ramp and looking at one another before turning their attention to The Dudley Boyz, D-Von telling them to give them an answer. "Why are you so angry with us?" Kane asks with a shrug of the shoulders, pointing out that it wouldn't have to come to this if The Dudley Boyz hadn't jumped them first the night after WrestleMania. "Whoa, whoa, whoa, chill, Kane," Van Dam says with a laugh. "Look, I know a lot about trees and wood comes from trees. If that's what Bubba Ray and D-Von, I say we go to Backlash and smoke their asses!" Kane nods to Van Dam as the crowd cheers, 'The Big Red Machine' pointing to the ring and telling The Dudley Boyz they're on at Backlash!
Meanwhile in the back, Stacy Keibler is seen looking through WWE Magazine when an arm is draped behind her, turning out to be Randy Orton. Keibler quickly pushes Orton's arm off of her and asks if he hasn't learned. "Oh come on, Stace. If you would just play along, we wouldn't have to go through all these great lengths to get to where we know this is going!" He mentions how last night he dedicated his match on Heat to her, the least she could do is go out with him after the show. The door then opens behind them and in walks Test, eyes widened as he asks Orton what the hell he thinks he is doing. "You son of a bi—" He charges at Orton, whom stumbles out of the way and toward the door, Test looking to Keibler and ordering her to stay here before chasing after Orton!
Seen sitting in the back is Goldust when next to him sits Booker T. The two keep their heads down, Booker asking why this had to happen. "I don't know what's going on but I want it to stop, man. I don't know what The Bischoff Administration is doing to you or what they know or whatever, but you don't have to keep putting up with it, man!" Goldust struggles to respond, saying it's complicated. In to the room then walks Chief Morley, Lance Storm and William Regal with Goldust quickly getting to his feet and saying he hears Booker has a match tonight. "Against Storm and Regal!" Booker stands and asks what the hell he is talking about, Morley chuckling. "With Mr. Bischoff away on business, I've been given some authority tonight, Book. So, you're going to be in a match against Lance Storm and William Regal. But don't worry, I'm a fair man, I'm going to appoint you a tag team partner." He looks to Goldust, whom slowly lifts his head back up to ask Booker who his lackey is going to be tonight.
2) The Hurricane def. Stevie Richards (w/Victoeia) via pinfall The bell rings while Richards and Victoria continue arguing as they were during their entrance, allowing Hurricane to sneak his way to the top rope and catch Richards with a crossbody when he turns back around — right in to a cover with the legs hooked for the three count!
Richards sits up with his eyes widened, pulling at his hair as he locks eyes with Victoria from the outside, whom has her mouth covered. Hurricane celebrates up the ramp proudly as the crazy couple return to arguing as Richards slides out of the ring and blames Victoria for the loss!
In the back, Chris Jericho and Christian are seen coming down the halls, each with half of the 2x4 board they used last week. "Hey, hey, Chris! Who am I? Hooooooo!" Jericho points and laughs, saying that's Jim Duggan! "Hey, Christian! Who am I?! Owww!" Y2J holds his knee, Christian saying that's obviously Kevin Nash! The two are set to address what happened last week — next.
Jericho and Christian arrive after the commercial break as expected, the two entering the ring together with smiles as they take in the boos of the crowd, Jericho even encouraging it by waving his hands. "Last week, 'Operation Hacksaw' was a go and worked out perfectly! Y'know, Christian, Jim Dugan was a childhood hero of mine!" Christian asks if that's so, because when he thinks of Jim Duggan he thinks of when he attended WrestleMania 6. "It was an honor to see great matches like The Ultimate Warrior versus Hulk Hogan! And, and, of course, who can forget 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan versus Dino Bravo?!" Jericho says that's true, but he has a different favorite part of WrestleMania 6. "And that was seeing Shawn Michaels lose! Just like how he lost to me at No Way Out! Just like how twenty men entered this ring at WrestleMania when I became the Intercontinental Champion by eliminating only one man, baby!" He looks to Christian, whose smile fades. Jericho apologizes for the reminder, Christian pulling him to the side and the two talking together off microphone.
As the two are clearing the air, Shawn Michaels' music hits and 'The Heart Break Kid' comes out to the stage along with Kevin Nash. The audience cheers for the duo as Michaels plays up to the fans a bit. "So last week, the two of you concocted a clever plan, but not a smart one!" He says that they are now not just dealing with an unhappy Shawn Michaels, but they're dealing with a really ticked off Kevin Nash. He hands the microphone off to the big man, saying that he thinks he needs to take out his anger. "Yeah, I say we take out our frustrations against these two wannabes at Backlash!" Michaels says he likes the sounds of that, but also doesn't think they should wait another two weeks and they have a little fun right now! The two of them then begin to march toward the ring, prompting Jericho and Christian to get ready with their 2x4 boards. Michaels and Nash get in the ring and duck shots from the 2x4 pieces, causing their adversaries to lose them as they begin to strike. Nash and Michaels dominate the battle, but Christian ends up tossing Michaels from the ring in the corner as Nash is going for a Powerbomb on Jericho! As Y2J is lifted, Christian chop blocks the back of Nash's knee, forcing him to drop Jericho — Christian dragging his best friend out of the ring with him! Michaels returns to the ring at Nash's side, the big man angrily getting to his feet and picking up a microphone off the mat. "Hey! Hey!" He yells in their direction while hobbling forward. "You want a piece of me, Christian? Get your ass in here and let's do this!" He tosses the mike back down, Jericho mocking the bad knee and encouraging Christian to accept the challenge, whom eventually does!
3) Kevin Nash def. Christian via pinfall During the break, Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho were banned from ringside, leaving Nash and Christian on their own. While Nash displays his strength and overpowers Christian, the cocky Canadian stays scrappy, targeting the knee and applying multiple head holds to try and wear Nash down. After a big boot catches Christian mid-air coming off the ropes, Nash proceeds to plant him with a brutal Jackknife Powerbomb in the middle of the ring, leading to the cover and three count.
Nash gets back up and raises a fist in the air in celebration, kicking Christian's body under the bottom rope before continuing his celebration, having extracted some measure of revenge for last week.
Seen in the back once again is Test, walking down the halls and stepping up to Maven and D'Lo Brown, asking the two if they've seen Randy Orton. Brown twitches his head, Maven quick to indicate he's pretty sure that means 'no'. Test then keeps going on down the hallway when he comes across Al Snow, asking him if he has seen Orton. "Me? No," Snow says. "But, Head told me he saw Orton earlier in the Evolution locker room right over there!" Test asks what the hell he is talking about 'head', calling Snow sick. Al reaches over and pulls up his classic mannequin head, Test nodding and saying he forgot. He then walks toward the Evolution locker room with his hands on his hips, thinking for a moment before opening the door only for there to be nobody inside the room. He seems to think about leaving, but instead goes over to the separate lockers, finding Orton's specifically. He moves a few things and sees a poster of Keibler in a bikini hung up! Angered, Test rips the poster down and crumples it up, muttering under his breath as he turns and leaves the room to continue his search.
Holding his neck in the locker room area is Christian when in walks Chris Jericho, Y2J telling his best friend not to worry about tonight, at Backlash they're going to get back at Shawn Michaels and 'the big dumb bastard' Kevin Nash. Jericho then turns as he is tapped on the shoulder as standing behind him is Spike Dudley. "Ah, from a big dumb bastard to a little dumb bastard. What do you want, runt?" Dudley looks up and down at Jericho and says rumor has it he has been calling himself the most fighting champion on Raw. "Get it right, junior, I'm the most fightingest champion on Raw! And, yeah, so what?" Dudley says that he wants a match tonight for the Intercontinental Championship. Jericho and Christian both laugh about it, Y2J questioning what is up with Spike's family, all about getting title matches they don't even deserve. "This has nothing to do with my brothers, Chris." Spike responds. "They're doing their own thing and I want to prove I can do mine. So, are you really the most 'fightingest' champion on Raw or not?" Jericho looks back at Christian and crosses his arms, chuckling and telling Spike that he's on — he'll see him later.
4) Lance Storm and William Regal (w/Chief Morley) def. Booker T and Christopher Nowinski via pinfall Having promised to give him a tag team partner, Booker is very unimpressed when it turns out to be Nowinski, whom The Bischoff Administration have in their back pocket. Goldust is ordered on to commentary by Morley, but he gives very short responses and no answers to questions from King and Lawler. In the match, Booker is double teamed repeatedly but ends up mounting a comeback after desperately throwing punches and kicks at now just Storm and Regal, but Morley as well. Nowinski acts fired up from the corner and puts his hand out, a tired Booker deciding to give it a shot and go for the tag only for Nowinski to pull his hand back and laugh in his face. Booker responds with a punch, but turns right in to a kick to the stomach and a Knee Trembler from Regal for the pinfall.
Morley and Nowinski hit the ring, a four-on-one beat down on Booker commencing. "Come on, Goldust! Do something about this!" Shouts J.R. "He's your friend, damn it! He's your friend!" Goldust remains silent, Morley demanding a microphone from ringside. "Hey! Goldust!" He shouts toward the announce table. "Get down here and be a part of this..." Goldust slowly removes his headset and begins his slow walk down the ramp and in to the ring, the other members of The Bischoff Administration holding Booker T up as Morley gives orders for Goldust to strike his former tag team partner. "Take the glove off!" He yells to the confusion of Goldust as he's laying in to Booker. Hesitation leads to Morley ripping the glove off himself, Goldust looking down at his fist and then to Booker as he slowly begins to fire away with his bare fist. Blood ends up covering the hand of Goldust as Morley orders Storm and Regal to let Booker go. As The Bischoff Administration walks by and pats Goldust on the back, he solemnly looks down at his hand covered in Booker's blood. "I'm sorry..." He says over the face-down body of Booker as Morley comes over and pulls him away.
Seen marching through the back still in search of Randy Orton is Test, yelling for Orton to show himself. As he comes around a corner, however, he walks straight in to a clothesline by Batista! The powerhouse of Evolution stands over him as Randy Orton walks in with a laugh, patting Batista on the shoulder, looking down and Test and telling him not to worry, he'll take care of Stacy tonight!
5) Intercontinental Championship: Chris Jericho(c) def. Spike Dudley via submission Toying with Dudley and clearly not taking him seriously, Jericho slaps Spike around. After a sudden splurge of offense, Jericho resorts to removing turnbuckle padding from the corner. He then goes after Spike by the legs, ready to launch him only to be pulled back right in to the referee. Jericho then clotheslines Spike down, dragging him up by the hair and throws him in to the exposed steel! Y2J then proceeds to apply the Walls Of Jericho, a struggling Spike waving his hand and tapping out but the official is out. As Jericho continues to pull away at the hold, Shawn Michaels slides in to the ring and blasts him with Sweet Chin Music! "No! This can't be!" Lawler shouts. "Spike Dudley can't be the Intercontinental Champion!" Michaels takes Dudley's body and places it over Jericho, shaking the referee and bringing him over before exiting the ring. Slowly, the official begins to count with Jericho able to shoot his arm up just before the three count can be made! Both men slowly stagger back to their feet, Jericho catching Dudley as he comes back and slamming him in to the turnbuckles face first before pulling him in to the Walls of Jericho! Y2J yanks back at the hold and pulls Dudley's legs back as far as he can, leaving Spike with no other option than to tap out.
Jericho lets go of Dudley and spins around to demand his Intercontinental Championship from ringside. He is handed it and turns back in the other direction to lock eyes with Michaels, stepping up to the ropes and holding the belt up. "You thought you could screw me over, Michaels?!" He shouts. HBK simply smiles in return, holding his index finger and thumb barely apart in order to indicate how close he was to costing Jericho his championship tonight.
Transitioning backstage, Tommy Dreamer is seen heading down the halls ahead of the main event taking deep breaths when he is approached by Jonathan Coachman, whom asks Dreamer how he is feeling going in to perhaps the biggest match of his career in just a few moments. "A Steel Cage Match with Triple H? A former multi-time World Champion?" He shakes his head and says he thought it was the biggest match he had yet last month but admitting he ended up having the assistance of Brock Lesnar in the end. "Tonight, I don't have that. Triple H, however, doesn't have Evolution when we're locked inside that cage and I don't think he has what it takes to beat anyone without them. I don't think he knows what he is getting himself in to. I don't think he knows where I came from and what lengths I am willing to go to but he is going to find out right now!" Dreamer pounds his fist in to his palm, takes another deep breath and continues on his way with the main event coming up next!
6) Steel Cage Match: Triple H (w/Evolution) def. Tommy Dreamer via pinfall The match begins and Dreamer comes out aggressive, knocking HHH down repeatedly and then looking to use the cage. Hunter fights back, however, and begins to hurl the former ECW star in to the walls of the cage over and over, even pushing a knee in to the back of Dreamer's neck after falling behind the ropes. HHH toys with Dreamer a bit and it leads to a comeback from a now bloodied Tommy, whom shocks HHH with a near fall off a DDT. After launching 'The Game' in to the cage wall, he looks for a potential piledriver but HHH reverses it, scooping the legs and launching Dreamer in to the steel once again. As blood continues to drop from Dreamer's head, he is met with punches while on his knees. He motions for more from HHH, prompting some confusion from the Evolution leader. "Tommy Dreamer is beaten but not yet defeated!" Ross says. HHH responds by taking Dreamer by the neck, launching him in to the wall one more time before kicking him in the stomach and delivering a Pedigree in the center of the ring, leading to the cover and the one, two, three.
The crowd boos as HHH gets to his feet, being declared the winner. He demands the door stay closed as Evolution comes near. "He's mine..." He mutters, turning back to Dreamer and continuing his attack. The theme music of Brock Lesnar then hits, however, bringing the Richmond Coliseum to their feet as the World Heavyweight Champion storms down from the back with a steel chair in hand! Orton charges at him and eats a big chair shot to the head, Flair then one to the stomach. A clothesline is ducked from Batista and Lesnar delivers one big shot to the back that drops the muscle of Evolution. 'The Next Big Thing' steps up to the official outside of the cage door, tossing the chair away and demanding the key from him. He then unlocks the cage door and enters the ring, locking the door again behind him as HHH backs down in the corner, hands up. Lesnar waves the key and tosses it to the center of the ring, offering his rival an opportunity at retrieving it. Albeit hesitant, HHH goes after it only for Lesnar to put his foot over it. HHH looks up slowly, being dragged up by his neck and hurled in to the cage wall! Lesnar doesn't stop there, however, doing it three more times. As the rest of Evolution staggers up against the wall on the outside, Lesnar drags HHH up once more time by the hair, taking him by the throat and launching him in to the cage again - the wall coming free from it's hinges and landing on top of Flair, Batista and Orton with HHH rolling down it and on to the floor! "My God!" Ross yells. "Lesnar just broke the cage wall! With Triple H's body as the battering ram to do so!" Lesnar steps out to the ring apron and looks down at the carnage, a smile forming across his face while the crowd cheers him on as J.R. signs things off for Monday Night Raw!

I really love peaking in and out of this diary. Seeing Michaels and Nash reuniting with Nash coming to save his friend. I sense trouble in the air, with Nash coming back for a backstab. And intentions to finish some vendetta with Michaels. As well as seeing Goldberg going about things, and with Lesnar on Raw in 2003 forging different destiny. Really awesome from both of you guys. I hope to follow this diary a lot closer.

April 17, 2003: The Scope in Norfolk, VA
Following the Smackdown opening video, the cameras enter The Scope from Norfolk, Virginia, the stage hit by pyrotechnics as Michael Cole and Tazz welcome everyone to the show on commentary!
The theme music of Goldberg hits, the Norfolk crowd rising to their feet upon the arrival of the newest member of the Smackdown roster. He makes his entrance and fires up the crowd with his kicks and punches to the air as pyros come around him. Once in the ring, he calls for a microphone but doesn't get a chance to say anything as the chants of his name continue to ring out throughout the arena. He lets them keep going while leaning across the ropes, throwing his hand up a few times before finally going to speak, only to be cut off before a word can leave his lips by The Rock's music. The Backlash opponent for Goldberg proceeds to step out to the stage slowly, looking down his sunglasses toward the ring. He begins to pace a little bit after his music fades, a microphone in hand as he brings it up with a smile. "Big, bad Bill Goldberg, ladies and gentlemen!" He gestures toward the ring and gives a golf clap. "You're not a man of many words, Bill, we know this. So, allow The Rock to do the talking for you, huh?" He makes some grunting sounds and roars a few times, flexing toward his recent rival. "Me Goldberg! Smash Rock at Backlash! He's next! Yeah, listen here you little whisker biscuit! This isn't Dub-Ya-Cee-Dub-Ya! No, no, no, no! This is The Rock's world! Hell, this is The Rock's show, baby!" He says that he is such a big icon to not just this business but the entire planet Earth itself that he has a show named after his word: Smackdown. He says speaking of that word, it's exactly what he is going to be laying come Backlash. "That's right, Bill! The Rock's going to layeth the Smackdown on your bald candy ass at Backlash in ten days! What's really next is for your ass to go back in to hiding when The Rock embarrasses you in front of the millions... and millions of The Rock's fans because when you go one-on-one with 'The Great One' you won't stand a chance!"
Goldberg runs his hand over his head and takes a deep breath, asking Rock if he's finished. "You know something, Rock. You're right about something... I'm not one to talk much, I usually let my actions do the speaking for me." He says that before he turns to his actions, he wants to just explain why he agreed to come to the WWE and why he signed a contract with Smackdown. "And why I decided that you, Rock, are next... You run your mouth, you hide behind your sunglasses and you take the easy way out. For years and years I've been hearing all of the talk about how great you are, Rock! Now that I stand here and I look at you in person? I'm not impressed in the slightest." The crowd cheers as Goldberg goes on to say that some how, some way, Rock is still standing and coming out here every week to flap his gums. "You think you're hot sh*t, huh, Rock? I think it's about time that somebody knocks you on your ass and shuts you up once and for all! And quite frankly, I don't really feel like waiting until Backlash!" The audience roars as Goldberg starts to head toward the ropes, Rock quick to try and get him to stop. "Hey, hey, hey! You want to fight The Rock right here in Norfolk, Virginia?!" He asks to a big reaction from the crowd. "Please, give me a break! The Rock is out of here!" He begins to walk away but pauses as Goldberg tells him to hold on. "I wasn't giving you an option, boy. I was giving you a warning!" He throws his microphone down and steps through the ropes, Rock's eyes widening as he stumbles through the curtains with Goldberg in pursuit!
Meanwhile elsewhere in the back, the WWE Tag Team Champions Chris Benoit and Edge are seen walking together as they will be in action against members of The F.B.I. after the break.
1) Non-Title Match: Chuck Palumbo and Chris Kanyon (w/The F.B.I.) def. WWE Tag Team Champions Chris Benoit and Edge via pinfall Looking to continue keeping their roll going as WWE Tag Team Champions, Benoit and Edge work incredibly well together and manage to overcome outside interference from DeMott, Nunzio and Marie on multiple occasions. As Edge is preparing for a Spear on Kanyon, however, Team Angle come down from the back, leading to Benoit going toward the two of them. As Edge is distracted watching his partner, Palumbo blasts him from behind with a superkick to the back of the head! Kanyon then proceeds to hit the Flatliner and covers Edge for the pinfall! The crowd boos as Benoit returns to the ring as The F.B.I. scatter, celebrating the big victory on the outside together. Edge is aided to his feet by his partner, the two looking up the ramp beyond The F.B.I. at Team Angle as they have smiles on their faces over costing them the match.
Seen walking in the back is Kurt Angle when he opens a door and enters the office of General Manager Stephanie McMahon, quick to ask her if she is going to fix things around here now. "Are you going to give Charlie, Shelton and myself back our championships that we deserve?" He places his hands on his hips and McMahon responds by saying that is absurd. She says that she has a lot on her plate tonight with The Big Show and everything else, but tells Angle that she will get back to him in regards to a possible rematch for him and his proteges. "However, I do have an idea. Since Team Angle seems to want to be involved in the action tonight as we just saw, I say we give Charlie and Shelton a match tonight. As a matter of fact, you might like this, Kurt!" She says that tonight it will be Team Angle versus The Undertaker in a handicap match. Angle scoffs and asks McMahon if she is serious, saying that if Undertaker wasn't a dead man before he will be after tonight!
After the break, Cruiserweight Champion Matt Hardy is taking a seat at ringside at commentary very gingerly, putting on a headset as Tazz and Cole welcome him. "I thought you were supposed to be in this upcoming match?" Asks Cole, to which Hardy is quick to respond that due to Goldberg hitting him with a Spear last week, he has injured ribs and John Cena is taking his spot. "However, I plan on being fully ready for my Cruiserweight Championship match with Rey Mysterio at Backlash!"
2) Los Guerreros and Rey Mysterio def. John Cena, Shannon Moore and Jamie Noble (w/Nidia) via pinfall Action packed, fast paced, back and forth and wild, the match lasts through a break. As Los Guerreros work against Moore and Noble, Mysterio and Cena battle on the outside. After Cena tries to pull at his mask, Rey splashes him in the face with water from the announce table, Mysterio tosses Cena over it and in to Hardy! Back in the ring, Moore is knocked off the apron by Eddie and Chavo, Noble then charging in to a double drop toe hold in to the ropes, perfect position for Mysterio to be brought in to hit the 619, drop the dime and hook both legs for the one, two, three.
Mysterio gets to his feet and raises his arms with Eddie and Chavo, looking to the outside and pointing in the direction of Cena and Hardy, the Cruiserweight Champion holding a fired up Cena back and saying something in his ear as the celebration continues on for the winners.
Transitioning backstage, The Rock is seen being followed by his own personal security, telling them to keep their eyes peeled. He is cautious to cross through through the room when from behind he hears his name being yelled. Goldberg stands in the doorway across the way, a smile on his face as Rock puts his hands up. "What are you waiting for, huh?!" He asks his security, the four of them stepping in front of Goldberg and one of them requesting he leave the area now. "And if I don't?" He questions. One of them takes him by the arm and he responds with an elbow to another's head! A knee to the stomach by the one that grabbed him and a toss in to the wall behind, Goldberg then drills the other two with punches, dragging one of them up and hurling him across a table and in to a pile of equipment! He then turns and sees Rock's eyes widened, stumbling and racing out of the room! Goldberg's smile returns to his face as he proceeds to follow in Rock's direction.
Making her way down to the ring after the time away is Stephanie McMahon, the General Manager of Smackdown requesting a microphone. "Last week, one of the superstars on the Smackdown roster did something that I can't call anything other than despicable and out of line." She says that last Thursday night, The Big Show lost his match to Rhyno and well she expects any superstar to be very disappointed with a loss, she does not expect them to put their hands on an official. "And it didn't stop there as one of our backstage members attempted to bring Big Show to me so I could handle this behind close doors and Show decided to assault him as well!" McMahon says that since Show didn't want to take care of things privately, they're now going to do it publicly. Thus, she is demanding that Show bring himself down to this ring so they can handle this matter in front of everyone.
After waiting a few moments, The Big Show's music hits and the seven foot, five hundred pound mammoth of a man slowly makes his way down and in to the ring, towering over McMahon, whom doesn't seem to intend on backing down at all. "Do you have anything to say for yourself, Show?" She asks the big man, getting no response. She continues to question if she thinks that just because he is the size he is that he can get away with whatever he wants. She says that his actions will have consequences. "What are you going to do about it, Steph? You gonna fire me?!" McMahon shakes her head and says that no, she isn't going to fire him, but he will respect her authority. "So, Show, tonight, I am going to fine you for what you did. You will not be receiving a paycheck this week." Show isn't happy with that news, but McMahon isn't done there as she says that on top of that, she is ordering that he leave the building, he's done for the night. Show scoffs and questions who is going to make him: Her? Arena security make their way down to the ring together and stand on the outside, McMahon gesturing for him to leave. Show wipes away at his face and then puts his hands up, seeming to oblige. He then steps over the ropes and goes down to the floor, looking around at the security. He then blasts one of them with a big boot! He throws shots everywhere and then catches the last guard by the throat before laying him out with a Chokeslam on the bottom of the ramp! McMahon screams from the ring for Show to leave the arena now! He looks back at her with a scowl and then turns his back and makes his way up the ramp and to the back.
Seen in the locker room area are Chris Benoit and Edge, the WWE Tag Team Champions upset about their loss to The F.B.I. earlier thanks to the help of Team Angle. The door opens and in walks the WWE Champion The Undertaker, standing in front of the two with his arms crossed. "Y'know, I usually don't like having other people stick their nose in my business... but out of respect, and knowing the two of you have your problems with Team Angle... I'll make an exception." Edge stands and offers to have Undertaker's back again tonight if need be. Taker says while he appreciates it and respects them, he'd prefer if they minded their own business — he'll handle Team Angle himself. He then turns and leaves the room, Benoit and Edge left seeming unsure what to think.
Walking in the back after the commercial is The Big Show, his bags over his shoulder as he is leaving the arena. Cole on commentary, meanwhile, questions if Show will face further consequences for his actions tonight in response to Stephanie McMahon's decision to fine him and send him home!
3) Nunzio and Dawn Marie (w/The F.B.I.) def. Billy Kidman and Torrie Wilson via pinfall The men taking on the men and women taking on the women, both sides get their work in on the other. Nunzio tries to be the legal man against Torrie but Kidman ends up making the save. After a big enzuigiri stuns Nunzio, he tags out to Dawn. Kidman takes Nunzio to the outside as Wilson and Marie go at it. Torrie ends up hitting a big spinning DDT but Marie's foot is placed on the bottom rope on the cover attempt by DeMott. Torrie drags Dawn back up and after a brief exchange, Dawn rolls Torrie up and with the official not noticing, Nunzio holds Wilson's arms down to avoid her kicking out of the pin!
Nunzio quickly helps Dawn to the outside, The F.B.I. gathering up together in celebration for their second victory of the week. Their enjoyment is cut short, however, as Kidman ends up coming off the top rope with a Shooting Star Press on to all the men of The F.B.I.! Billy pops back to his feet, holding his mid-section before assisting Torrie up the ramp as Marie is left checking on the rest of The F.B.I.
In the back, Brian Kendrick is seen moping around when he is approached by Sean O'Haire, asking why he has his head hung so low. "You've had a few rough weeks, so what? Maybe that's what you need! Now, people will underestimate you, Brian." Kendrick doesn't know how to respond, so O'Haire tells him he's going to do him a favor and give him his spot in his match tonight. "You're going to go out there and compete in a match and I believe that you could shock the world, Brian! I believe that you could become the next 1-2-3 Kid!" Kendrick asks O'Haire if he really means that, Sean putting his hands up and saying he's not telling him anything he doesn't already know!
Elsewhere in the backstage area, The Rock is seen scrambling as he enters a room, placing his hands on the door and breathing heavily after closing it. He then turns around and sees standing in the room Stephanie McMahon and Jackie Gayda, his worrisome look turning to a confident smile real quick. "Hey, hey, hey! The Rock just dropped by to see what you ladies were up to toni—" He is cut off as the door is swung open, Goldberg entering and questioning Rock as to where he thinks he is going! He tries to come at Rock around the office, McMahon trying to restore order. As soon as Goldberg is about to get to Rock, he pulls Gayda in front of him as a shield! Rock then runs out of the room as Goldberg apologizes to Stephanie, saying he's going to go and take care of that right now.
Standing by in the back is Josh Mathews with Team Angle, asking them about going up against The Undertaker in a two-on-one handicap match soon. "Stephanie McMahon thinks she is punishing us with that match," Benjamin says with a laugh. "But what she is really doing is putting her WWE Champion in harms way." Haas says that Team Angle is well aware of the picking of favorites around here, but this was a fatal error in McMahon's power hungry ways. "Undertaker will be punished for the problems he has caused for us here tonight." The two then head off to continue preparation.
4) Rhyno def. Brian Kendrick via pinfall The bell sounds as Kendrick is noticeably nervous, trying to chip away at Rhyno as he ducks in the corner and slips between the ropes, ultimately angering 'The Man Beast' after a dropkick, leading to Rhyno charging through him multiple times with clotheslines and shoulder blocks. After a jawbreaker, Kendrick goes to the top rope but is caught in mid-air with a shot to the stomach that crumples him. Kendrick staggers back to his feet and turns right in to a Gore, which leads to the pinfall finish.
The crowd cheers for Rhyno as he is announced as the winner and has his arm raised. From atop the stage, Sean O'Haire walks out with a smile on his face. He slowly applauds toward the ring and catches the attention of Rhyno, whom steps up to the ropes and motions for O'Haire to come down. Sean doesn't seem interested as Rhyno sits on the middle rope and continues to invite him down. "I don't think our local Devil's advocate is interested in stepping in to the ring with Rhyno at all!" Says Cole. O'Haire taps his temple and winks in Rhyno's direction before returning to the back.
The cameras proceed to pick up backstage to WWE Champion The Undertaker, hopping on to his motorcycle and revving his engine as the main event is coming up next!
5) Handicap Match: WWE Champion The Undertaker def. Team Angle via disqualification With Benjamin and Haas having to tag in and out, Undertaker manages to hold his own against the duo but every chance the former WWE Tag Team Champions get to work a double team or get a cheap shot in, they take back control. The match lasts through a commercial break, both Haas and Benjamin doing their fair share of damage to 'The Dead Man' still. The WWE Champion begins to fight back, however, getting some momentum going as he ends up sending Benjamin flying off the barricade and face first in to the announce table via a big boot. He then turns to Haas coming off the top rope and catches him by the throat for a Chokeslam! As he goes for the cover, however, Benjamin manages to dive in and break up the pin. He continues to beat down on Taker as he mounts over him, Haas eventually staggering back to his feet and joining in on the beat down. The referee tries to put a stop to it but Team Angle isn't listening, forcing him to call for the bell and the DQ.
The Virginia crowd boos as Team Angle get back to their feet after a bit more of a beat down, the two having a conversation before dragging Taker back up, seeming prepared to continue their assault only to be met with lefts and rights. A big boot to Haas is followed by a toss over the top rope, Benjamin then being put in position for the Last Ride! As soon as he lifts Shelton up over his head, however, Kurt Angle strikes from behind with a chop block to the back of the leg! He wastes no time in then applying the Ankle Lock, Haas and Benjamin returning to the ring and getting in Taker's face as the hold is wrenched back and forth! The audience then begins to start cheering as down from the back comes Chris Benoit and Edge, the two sliding in to the ring and throwing shots right at Angle, Benjamin and Haas. The trio end up gaining the upper hand on the WWE Tag Team Champions until Taker re-emerges in the fight, evening things up and assisting in scattering Haas and Benjamin from the ring before sending Angle over the top with a running clothesline! With Team Angle in retreat, they stagger up the stage only to be stopped in their tracks as the music of Stephanie McMahon hits. "What's the boss doing out here, Cole?!" Asks Tazz. The Smackdown General Manager steps over to the side of Angle, Haas and Benjamin with a microphone in her hand. "Gentlemen, this has been going on way too much. Clearly, the six of you are intertwined with each other and it all centers around the WWE Championship and the WWE Tag Team Championship." She says that since these two sides seem to continue to want to get involved with one another, she believes she has a solution. "At Backlash, we're going to have ourselves a six man tag team match: Team Angle versus The Undertaker, Chris Benoit and Edge... winner take all for both the Tag Team and WWE Championship!" She smiles to both trios and returns to the back, leaving them to stare each other down.
As Cole and Tazz seem prepared to sign things off for Smackdown, the cameras pick up in the parking lot with The Rock seen hurrying getting in to the back of his limousine when Goldberg steps in front of the vehicle with a scowl. He points at the windshield and tells the driver not to move, making his way around the car and driving a boot through one of the windows! "Come on, Rock! Get your ass out here and face me like a man!" He continues to beat down on the car, Rock suddenly popping up from the visor up top and removing his sunglasses, motioning his hand at Goldberg. "I'll whoop your candy ass, Goldberg! But not tonight... at Backlash, just bring it, bitch!" Goldberg slams through the window closest while Rock screams for the driver to go! The limousine proceeds to peel out, leaving Goldberg breathing heavily with his hands on his hips as the show comes to an end!

April 19, 2003: The Scope in Norfolk, VA
1) Bill DeMott (w/The F.B.I.) def. Tajiri via pinfall Despite a valiant effort from 'The Japanese Buzzsaw' to take down the bigger DeMott, the involvement on the outside from The F.B.I. proves to be too much. After deciding to mist Kanyon in the eyes while he is on the apron, Palumbo comes in with the official distracted to deliver a superkick to the back of Tajiri's head, allowing DeMott to hit his signature moonsault for the pinfall. Following the match, The F.B.I. enter the ring and put a beating on Tajiri with Nunzio covering his face with his jacket while Palumbo and DeMott hold his arms back, delivering punches and kicks. He then checks on a still blinded Kanyon before leaving with Tajiri left laid out on the mat.
2) Sean O'Haire def. Joey Matthews via pinfall Looking to continue his success since arriving on Smackdown, O'Haire dominates Matthews despite some limited offense in for Joey. After a big boot catches Matthews coming off of the ropes, O'Haire delivers the Inverted Death Valley Driver and leads to him getting the one, two, three.
3) Funaki def. Christian York via pinfall 'Smackdowns #1 Announcer' gets his shot to show his ability in the ring instead of backstage and proves his worth, overcoming a few knock downs from York by sending him down with dropkicks, enzuigiris and almost getting the win with a top rope crossbody. After avoiding a clothesline, Funaki ends up hitting The Rising Sun and getting the pinfall off of it.
4) A-Train def. Rikishi via pinfall A battle of two big men, the contest goes back and forth with each men showing off their strength and also deceptive speed. After a superkick from Rikishi puts A-Train in position for the Stinkface, Rikishi begins to 'raise the roof' and get the crowd in to it. He goes to back in but A-Train is back to his feet, bouncing off the ropes and coming back with a giant big boot. In one last display of strength, A-Train takes Rikishi by the throat and delivers a chokebomb in the middle of the ring for the win. April 20, 2003: Richmond Coliseum in Richmond, VA
1) Randy Orton def. Al Snow via pinfall Taking on the veteran Snow, the cocky Orton ends up getting perhaps too overconfident when Snow starts to come at him with stiff strikes. Orton escapes a piledriver attempt and catches Snow with a clothesline before putting him down and away with the inverted headlock backbreaker. Orton then demands a microphone after the match, pointing at the camera. "Hey Test! After I beat your ass tomorrow night on Raw... Stacy's coming home with me." He winks, smiles and leaves the ring.
2) 3 Minute Warning (w/Rico) def. Christian York and Joey Matthews via pinfall The big Rosey and Jamal completely dominate the contest, Rico giving orders on the outside as the big Samoan team shows similar aggression to when they first arrived. After splashing in to both men in the corner, York is tossed from Rosey to Jamal for a Samoan Drop followed by Rosey going to the top rope and hitting a diving splash for the three count. The big men get to their feet afterward and have their arms raised by Rico as they looked more dominant tonight than they have in a long time.
3) Jacqueline def. Victoria (w/Stevie Richards) via pinfall Still attempting to come back from her recent bad results, Victoria is on the offense with Jacqueline but constantly finds herself getting caught up mouthing off to Richards. She seems prepared to go for the Widow's Peak and tells Richards to watch, but Jacqueline escapes and rolls Victoria up for the sudden and surprising one, two, three! As Jacqueline rolls out of the ring and the official follows to raise her hand as the winner, Victoria berates an unimpressed Richards claiming it's all his fault!
4) Lance Storm and William Regal def. Maven and D'Lo Brown via pinfall A rematch from the night after WrestleMania, Storm and Regal are met with another tough battle from the still relative new team of Maven and Brown. Near falls galore, Brown sizes up Storm from behind after having knocked Maven from the ring. With the official having his attention on Storm against the ropes, however, Regal steps in to the ring and hits Brown in the back of the head with brass knuckles! Storm then catches Brown with a superkick and gets the three count.

April 21, 2003: Phillips Arena in Atlanta, GA
The stage of Atlanta, Georgia's Phillips Arena is lit up by pyrotechnics following the opening Raw video, the voice of Jim Ross then welcoming everyone to the show alongside Jerry 'The King' Lawler as we are just six nights away from the Backlash pay-per-view!
The theme music of Eric Bischoff hits as the Raw General Manager makes his way out from the back along with Chief Morley, Lance Storm, William Regal, Christopher Nowinski and a very reluctant looking Goldust. Bischoff has a smile on his face once in the ring and tells the audience to take a good look at The Bischoff Administration. "I mean, think about it! The Bischoff Administration has been running things tremendously around here. Monday Night Raw is thriving under our guidance and leadership!" He says to take a look at the likes of Triple H and Evolution being a dominant faction, Chris Jericho bringing the Intercontinental Championship over, the Women's division being more dominant and, of course, his administration. "Hell, as a matter of fact, the newest member of our team Goldust is going to show what he's got when he walks in to Backlash this Sunday and beats the hell out of his former tag team partner and best friend Booker T!" Goldust doesn't seem thrilled with the news as Bischoff laughs and pats him on the back, saying that things are going great. He then re-iterates that he believes it is all because of The Bischoff Administration.
Interrupting the self-promotion is Brock Lesnar, the World Heavyweight Champion stepping out to the stage with a grin while also shaking his head. "Are you frickin' kidding me?" He asks with a laugh. "Eric, I knew you had an ego but this takes it to a whole other level." He says that Raw isn't better because of what he has done, but he doesn't think it is a coincidence that things have been better since he hopped over from Smackdown! "Hell, thinks got really better when I took this World Heavyweight Championship away from Triple H!" Lesnar says that the bottom line is, he's pretty sure Raw isn't doing better because of Bischoff's poor management, but because of the likes of himself overcoming it. Morley steps forward and tells Lesnar to watch his mouth because regardless of his opinion, they run the show. "Thank you, Chief," Bischoff says while backing Morley up and telling him he has this under control. "So you don't like the way I do things, Brock? Well guess what? I don't care what you think! You think you're so big, bad and tough... well, how about you step in to this ring tonight?" Lesnar shrugs his shoulders to the suggestion, Bischoff then saying Lesnar will be in action against Christopher Nowinski and Lance Storm and William Regal in a three-on-one handicap match! The Administration all stand together laughing while Lesnar seems to welcome the challenge!
Transitioning backstage, Stevie Richards and Victoria are walking together and arguing back and forth, Victoria saying that yes, she is still blaming Richards for everything that has gone wrong for them. "Unlike you, Vic, I'm going to do something about it! 'Big Stevie Cool' is going to go in to the ring tonight with 'Big Daddy Cool' Kevin Nash!" Victoria scoffs and says that he is a loser, prompting Richards to point a finger in her face. "I'll show you... you'll see." He says before walking off.
Following the break, Evolution is seen in their locker room with Triple H pacing in front of the other three. "Last week... Brock Lesnar beat the hell out of the three of you and then tossed me through a frigin' steel cage!" He breaths heavily, adding that Lesnar thinks he runs Monday Night Raw. "Now he's out there telling Eric Bischoff what he thinks? This is my show, damn it! Not his!" He says that from here on out they are no longer going to let Lesnar run roughshod for he has the greatest equalizer of them all. He then proceeds to grab a sledgehammer from off to the side, slowly raising it up in front of his face. "Now we'll see if Brock is as tough as he thinks he is..."
1) Non-Title Tables Match: World Tag Team Champions Rob Van Dam and Kane def. 3 Minute Warning (w/Rico) Six nights way from their tables match with The Dudley Boyz, RVD and Kane apparently went to Eric Bischoff about getting a warm up of sorts. Tasked with facing the big Jamal and Rosey, 3MW gets assistance from Rico to try and put the duo through tables but to no avail. Instead, Kane ends up hitting Rico with a Chokeslam off the apron through a table! After disposing of Kane through the ropes, 3MW see an opportunity as they look to set up RVD on a table in the middle of the ring. Jamal heads to the top rope but Kane ends up grabbing his leg and stopping it. Rosey storms over but Kane connects with a punch, RVD coming at him with a spinning wheel kick. Jamal is then shoved from the top rope, getting back up to a big boot from Kane that causes him to fall on the table. RVD then leaps to the top rope, the crowd cheering and chanting his initials before he dives off with a Five Star Frog Splash through the table! The referee calls for the bell, declaring RVD and Kane the winners.
Van Dam and Kane get to their feet and celebrate the victory together but as RVD gets on the second rope to raise his title up, The Dudley Boyz hit the ring from behind and end up putting Kane through one of the set up tables with a 3D! RVD jumps back down but before he can get after The Dudley Boyz, D-Von and Bubba Ray have already escaped back halfway up the ramp. RVD checks down on his fallen partner Bubba warns they're taking back the World Tag Team Championship at Backlash!
Transitioning to the back, Booker T is seen walking through the halls when he hears some whispers. He turns and sees a door creaked open behind him, Goldust slowly peaking his head out. "Listen, Book, please..." Booker shouts back, questioning what the hell Goldust wants. "I don't want to face you on Sunday, but, I have to..." Booker gets in Goldust's face and stops him from saying anything else, telling him the talking is done, he's coming for him on Sunday and then maybe he'll knock some sense in to him! Booker then walks away, leaving Goldust looking upset and distraught.
Seen in the office backstage is Eric Bischoff and Chief Morley, the two talking about what happened with Brock Lesnar earlier. "Y'know something, Chief, maybe Brock's a little bit right. Maybe some things aren't so great around here... maybe we need to consider trimming some of the fat around here, perhaps?" Morley nods and says that wouldn't be such a bad idea. Their conversation is then interrupted as the door is opened and in walks The Dudley Boyz. After Bischoff and Morley seem a bit too happy to see them, Bubba asks what the deal is and why they wanted to see him and D-Von. "Well, to be honest," Morley says with a snicker. "We just wanted to say how happy we would be to see the two of you beat Rob Van Dam and Kane for the World Tag Team Championship this Sunday and we are standing fully in your corner." D-Von looks at his brother and shakes his head, saying he doesn't want anything to do with these guys. "Don't worry about it, D-Von," Bubba replies to him before looking back at Bischoff and Morley. "Let me make something clear to the two of you, alright? We ain't taking back the Tag Team titles for you, we're taking 'em back for us. So, root for us all you want but we don't give a damn whether you do or you don't, capiche?" He pats D-Von on the chest and the two of them leave the room together, leaving Bischoff to hold a peeved Morley back.
2) Jazz (w/Theodore Long) def. Molly Holly via pinfall Recent issues stemming from the Women's Championship picture, Jazz dominates Molly in the early goings with her power but a valiant effort from Holly gets her back in to things. After a top rope crossbody leads to a near fall, Molly goes off the ropes and comes back with a clothesline. She looks for another one but Long grabs her by the foot, prompting Molly to turn and look at him from over the ropes. Back turned, it leads to a perfect opportunity for Jazz to hit the Bitch Clamp and get the pinfall.
Rising to her feet as the victor, Jazz holds her arms out and looks to the ceiling, lowering her head when Trish Stratus makes her way out from the back. The Women's Champion locks eyes with her challenger for Sunday, Jazz having some words that prompt Trish to remove her belt from around her waist and charge to the ring! Jazz gets a few shots in but Trish gets to her feet, fighting back and knocking Jazz down with a clothesline. Molly is back up and spins Stratus around but Trish is quick and nails Molly with a Chick Kick! Stratus turns back around to see Jazz on the apron, Long urging her to back down. "Sunday I'm making you my bitch!" Jazz warns before dropping to the floor and backing up the ramp alongside Long.
Cutting backstage, Kevin Nash is seen walking down the halls and looking ready. He steps in to the ring with Stevie Richards following the break.
Standing in the back is Tommy Dreamer when he is approached by Terri, whom asks him how he is feeling after last week's cage match and about getting in to the ring with Batista tonight. "I'm still beat up after last week, I'm not gonna lie," He shrugs his shoulders. "But I've been getting my ass kicked my entire career and going out the next night and doing it all over again... so, yeah, Batista is big and bad and tough but you know what else he is? A muscle head brainwashed by Evolution." He says that Batista has no idea what kind of fight he is in for tonight. Dreamer pounds his fist in to his palm with a grin and then heads off with that match still to come later on.
3) Kevin Nash def. Stevie Richards (w/Victoria) The bell sounds and Richards charges right up to Nash with punches and kicks, getting shoved away but responding with a kick to the knee. Richards points at Victoria on the outside and tells her 'watch this' before putting Nash in position for a powerbomb! He is incapable of picking Nash up, Kevin instead flipping Richards up and over him! Stevie gets up holding his back and wincing in pain, walking right in to a big boot. Nash follows it up with the Jackknife Powerbomb and gets the pinfall.
Nash stands back up and has his arm raised as the winner. The celebration is cut very short, however, as in to the ring from behind comes Chris Jericho and Christian, the duo dropping Nash to the mat with Jericho targeting the knee while Christian throws punches to the face and head. The booing crowd begins to cheer as Shawn Michaels races down to the ring, catching Jericho with a punch and then Christian. A two-on-one on HBK begins but Nash gets back up and charges right through Jericho with a clothesline! Christian is then tossed over the top rope at Jericho's feet. As Nash and Michaels stand in the center of the ring together, Christian and Jericho proceed to back away from the ring and up the ramp. Michaels then turns to see Richards back in the ring looking for a superkick only for Michaels to duck underneath it. Richards lands chest-to-chest with Nash and puts his hands up, backing up a little and turning around to Michaels before spinning right back to Nash and a right hand! "Bad decision, Stevie!" Says Lawler. Richards then turns right in to Sweet Chin Music from Shawn, whom poses over his body while pointing in the direction of his and Nash's opponents for this Sunday at Backlash as they watch on from the top of the stage.
Shawn Michaels and Kevin Nash are walking in the back after the break when Jonathan Coachman walks up to them and asks how they feel heading in to their match with Chris Jericho and Christian this Sunday after all they've dealt with over the weeks. "Those boys are in for a world of hurt," Nash says. "They picked a fight with the wrong two dudes with attitudes." Michaels says that when Jericho called him out after WrestleMania he never expected that it wouldn't be on two-on-one like he had planned. "Because this Sunday it's two-on-two and at the end of it, the two of them are gonna be laying on the mat after having their teeth kicked down their throat and dropped from seven feet. It's time to shut those two up and teach them a lesson in respect." He and Nash then continue on.
4) Batista (w/Ric Flair) def. Tommy Dreamer via pinfall Dreamer manages to hold his own against the powerhouse Batista but the strength of the Evolution prodigy allows him to remain in control. Dreamer, with some motivation from the crowd, works his way back to his feet and knocks Batista off his feet a few times. After being pushed in to the referee, he drop toe holds Batista in to the turnbuckles. Seeing an opportunity, Flair rolls in to the ring with a steel chair in hand and swings it at Dreamer — Tommy avoiding it with the chair bouncing off the top rope and back in to the face of 'The Nature Boy'! Flair turns right in to a kick to the stomach and a DDT from Dreamer afterward! Tommy proceeds to kick him under the bottom rope but turns right in to a big spinebuster from Batista! 'The Animal' of Evolution then drags Dreamer up in order to plant him with a sit out powerbomb in the middle of the ring, the referee crawling over to count the one, two, three.
Batista stands back up and towers over the body of Dreamer, pointing in his face and having some words for him before leaving the ring, aiding Flair back to his feet and helping him up the ramp.
Fellow Evolution member Randy Orton is seen in the hallway backstage, growing a smile across his face as he approaches Stacy Keibler from behind, slightly startling her. "Hey, Stace, didn't mean to scare you. Look, I know you want me to leave you alone... I don't get it, but I understand it." He shrugs his shoulders and says that maybe she'll have a change of heart when he beats her boyfriend in the middle of that ring here in a few minutes. "Or, maybe," She replies. "Test will go out there and kick your ass!" Orton takes offense to it and takes Stacy by the arm as she tries to walk away, pulling her close to him and saying that it's time to stop resisting. The door to the room behind them then opens as Test storms out, stomping after Orton whom quickly peels off down the hall. "I'll see your ass in the ring, Orton!" Test warns, taking Stacy by the hand and walking off with her.
Terri is standing by the in the back after the commercial break and introduces her guest at this time to be Spike Dudley. Terri asks him about coming up just short in his Intercontinental Championship opportunity last week with Chris Jericho. "It sucks," He replies. "I'll be honest. It sucks. I was really hoping that all three of us Dudley Boyz could be champion after this Sunday night." He says that Jericho is a slime ball and found a way to steal the win last week, but he's sure that if he was given another chance, he could become the Intercontinental Champion. Chief Morley then walks up to him, chuckling as he asks Spike if he is serious. "A little guy like you, Spike, will never cut it around here." Spike looks down at the floor, hands on his hips before looking up, smacking Morley across the face! "You're going to look real stupid when I prove you wrong one day." He warns before leaving.
5) Randy Orton def. Test (w/Stacy Keibler) via pinfall Continuing to keep his eyes on Stacy, Orton being distracted off the sound of the bell allows Test to run right in to him with a clothesline in the corner. Slams, tosses and a big throw to the outside leads to Test continuing his assault with a toss in to the steel steps. As he has some words with Stacy, it leads to Orton shoving him from behind in to the ring post. Orton gets a few near falls in the ring as he tries to put Test away repeatedly. Going to the top rope, Orton blows a kiss to Stacy and then leaps off for a crossbody that misfires! That leads to Test running through Orton with a big boot. Incensed over Orton's antics, he drags Randy back up by the neck and sets him up for the Pump Handle Slam, Orton managing to elbow himself free and drop behind the big man. Test then turns right in to a jumping cutter, which leads to Orton hooking the far leg for the three count!
A wide smile forms across the face of Orton, the youth of Evolution continuing his flirtation with an uninterested Keibler. He waves his hands at her, seeming to have finally given up, and leaves the ring, having some words with the booing crowd as he raises his fists over his head in celebration.
Seen walking backstage is the World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar, 'The Next Big Thing' has a big task ahead of him as he faces Lance Storm, William Regal and Christopher Nowinski of The Bischoff Administration in a handicap match just six days ahead of Backlash — next!
At the announce table, J.R. and Lawler discuss how Backlash is coming up this Sunday and proceed to run down the card: From Smackdown, the WWE in-ring debut of Goldberg has he battles The Rock; In a rematch from WrestleMania, the Cruiserweight Championship is to be on the line when Matt Hardy defends against Rey Mysterio; And, in a winner takes all six man tag team match, The Undertaker, Chris Benoit and Edge defend the WWE Championship as well as the WWE Tag Team Championship against Kurt Angle, Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin — Team Angle; Over on Raw, a big tag team match itself when the Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho and Christian team up against Shawn Michaels and Kevin Nash; For the Women's Championship, Trish Stratus puts the title on the line against Jazz; With the World Tag Team Championship up for grabs, Kane and Rob Van Dam defend against The Dudley Boyz in a Tables Match; Plus, former tag team partners and friends collide when Booker T goes one-on-one with Goldust; Lastly, for the World Heavyweight Championship, a big time WrestleMania rematch when Brock Lesnar defends against Triple H.
6) Three-on-One Handicap Match: World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar def. Lance Storm, William Regal and Christopher Nowinski (w/Chief Morley and Goldust) via pinfall To the surprise of no one, The Bischoff Administration does what they can to get the numbers game on the World Heavyweight Champion and use every advantage they can. Each time Lesnar begins to get hot and dominate, the two on the apron come in to get involved. After Morley gives instruction to Goldust to trip up Lesnar, Regal runs in to Lesnar with a knee to the side of the head for a two count. The crowd begins to grow louder as Booker T ends up making his way down the ramp as Storm is tagged in, Booker running up to Morley and pummeling him with strikes to the face. He then tosses him over the barricade as Goldust is in retreat, Morley calling out for help. Regal and Nowinski proceed to chase after Booker, leaving Storm in the ring questioning where they're going! "Look out, Lance, this isn't going to end well!" Exclaims Lawler. Storm then turns right in to Lesnar's grasp, being hoisted over his shoulders and planted with the F-5 which results in Lesnar getting the pinfall.
Lesnar doesn't get much of a chance to celebrate though, as after he is presented with his World Heavyweight Championship belt, Triple H's music hits and out he comes with the rest of Evolution. A sledgehammer in the hands of 'The Game', he pats it in his palm. As the four reach the ring, Lesnar tosses his championship down and motions for them to come in to the ring. HHH looks to the other three and gives a nod, a band-aided forehead Flair hitting the ring first and running right in to a clothesline. Batista and Orton come in and Lesnar tries to fight them both off but Flair gets back up and the three-on-one begins in the corner. Lesnar ends up bursting through the three, tossing Flair out of the ring, sending Orton over the top rope with a belly-to-belly and sending Batista out with a clothesline. HHH then gets in to the ring with his sledgehammer and goes to swing it at Lesnar only fro Brock to block it! He rips the hammer out of Hunter's hands, backing him to the ropes with HHH quick to get out of dodge and back down with the rest of Evolution. "Triple H thought that the sledgehammer would be the great equalizer," J.R. says. "But Brock Lesnar still stands tall!" Lesnar proceeds to point the hammer at all four men atop the stage as the show comes to an end.

April 24, 2003: Gaylord Entertainment Center in Nashville, TN
A muscle car is seen pulling in to the parking lot, the door opening and Goldberg stepping out. The crowd cheers from inside of the arena. Tazz says from commentary that tonight, he has the gig of the century as he'll preside over the contract signing for The Rock and Goldberg at Backlash! The Smackdown opening video follows, the cameras then entering the Gaylord Entertainment Center where the stage is lit up by pyrotechnics and the Nashville crowd is ready to go for the final Smackdown before Backlash. Michaell Cole says that tonight, along with the contract signing for Goldberg and Rock, Stephanie McMahon will once again address The Big Show and his actions and we will also see The Undertaker, Chris Benoit and Edge team up ahead of their match this Sunday as they face The F.B.I.!
The music of Cruiserweight Champion Matt Hardy hits and he makes his way out from the back wearing dress clothes, Shannon Moore with his head hung low as he walks behind the leader of 'Mattitude'. The two enter the ring together, Moore presenting Hardy with a microphone as he seems a bit choked up, excusing himself after preparing to speak. "Today... is a very tough day. Not just for Matt Hardy but for all of you as well." He says that a couple of weeks ago, he suffered an absolutely devastating injury at the hands of Goldberg when he was hit with a Spear in the middle of this ring. "And as a fighting champion, it gutted me to not be able to compete last week or tonight and, ultimately, it has led to what I am about to tell you..." He looks down at the Cruiserweight Championship belt and shakes his head, saying this is very tough and to give him a moment. He seems to be whispering to the belt and then looks over to Shannon, whom gives two thumbs up of encouragement. "It is with a heavy heart that I must announce to you, due to my injuries, I must vacate my Cruiserweight Championship..." The crowd actually begins to cheer Hardy, but he looks up from the floor with his index finger raised. "...match this Sunday at Backlash." The boos rain down on Hardy as he says he knows, it's absolutely horrible news and he hates that it has come to this. "But that vile beast Goldberg is to blame for this! Now, you will not be able to witness Matt Hardy Version 1 once again beat Rey Mysterio one, two, three in the mid—"
Interrupting Hardy mid-sentence is none other than Rey Mysterio, the number one contender for the Cruiserweight Championship shaking his head as he makes his way down the ramp and in to the ring. "Are you serious?" He questions. "Matt, I don't buy a second of this crap! I think you're ducking me because you know that unlike at WrestleMania, you won't be able to pull a fast one on me and I will become the Cruiserweight Championship when we face each other again!" Hardy's eyes widen as he steps forward to Mysterio, asking how dare he. "You believe I would feign such a serious injury? Would you like to see my doctor's note?! Rey, I am a fighting champion and I would love nothing more than to beat you this Sunday at Backlash but I have severely injured ribs and I am in no condition to risk further damage." Mysterio has heard enough of it and says that he wants a piece of Hardy tonight! "Rey doesn't give a damn if Matt Hardy's injured," Cole says. "Match or not he wants a piece of the Cruiserweight Champion!" Hardy tells Mysterio that he understands his frustrations and says he shouldn't question his integrity as a champion. "I know you're a man that seeks competition, Rey. You will get your opportunity to face me in due time when I am healed up, but in the mean time, I have done my due diligence to find you an opponent for right here tonight on Smackdown... so, Rey, you want a match tonight? You've got it... against Shannon Moore!" Mysterio then places his hands on his hips, seeming unimpressed as Hardy pulls a confused looking Moore out of the ring with him before heading to the back.
In the back, The Undertaker is seen sitting in the locker room area with the WWE Championship at his side as he is putting on his gloves when the door opens, Chris Benoit and Edge walking in with the WWE Tag Team Championship belts over their shoulders. "Don't mean to interrupt your preparation for tonight's match with The F.B.I. tonight, Taker," Benoit says. "But you haven't had any communication with us at all." Edge says what Benoit is trying to say, in a much more aggressive tone, is that they want to discuss strategy. Taker stands up and looks down at the two. "Strategy? It's the same strategy as this Sunday. Stay out of the way and don't screw this up for me." Benoit steps closer to 'The Dead Man' and says this isn't just about him and he needs to get on the same page. Edge is quick to hold his tag team partner back and try and calm the situation down. "Listen, Taker, I'm sorry. Chris is jus—" Taker tells him to save it and recommends that the two of them leave. Benoit goes to say more but Edge stops him and begins to push him out of the room, telling Taker they'll see him out there.
Standing by in the back after the commercial break is Funaki, introducing his guest at this time to be The Rock. Funaki goes to ask a question but Rock puts a hand up in his face. "Who in the Smackdown blue hell are you?" He asks, Funaki laughing and telling Rock that's a good one. "No, no, The Rock is serious! See, The Rock has something very important on his mind right now... see, The Rock has a lot of preparation and planning to do... The Rock... has to find a new co-star for his next movie." Funaki goes to bring up Goldberg but Rock brushes it off, saying that'll be a cake walk. "Well, what about me, Rock?" Funaki then asks in regards to the movie, Rock seeming caught off guard by it. He then begins to chuckle and pats Funaki on the back. "Ain't nobody looking for a Rush Hour knock off there, lil guy. Listen, The Rock has a lot on his plate but a new co-star will be found by the end of the night!" He looks up and down at Funaki and says it damn sure isn't going to be him and then walks away. 1) Torrie Wilson (w/Billy Kidman) def. Dawn Marie (w/Nunzio) via pinfall A re-igniting of a very personal feud from the end of last year and beginning of this, the two divas scrap it out with one another and aside from the catfighting, Wilson actually hits some athletic takedowns moves. After a corner sunset flip leads to a near fall, Nunzio takes Wilson by the leg and causes enough of a distraction for Marie to hit her from behind. Kidman runs over and drives Nunzio in to the barricade, standing over him as back in the ring, Dawn leans over the ropes to yell in Billy's direction. Torrie takes advantage of the situation and brings Marie down in a roll up for the three count.
Wilson rolls out of the ring as Marie gets to her knees looking shocked. Kidman returns to Wilson's side and raises her arm up as the winner, the duo smiling as Nunzio argues with Dawn from the outside.
Seen standing in the back talking to some crew members is Sean O'Haire when he is tapped on the shoulder from behind, Brian Kendrick standing behind him and crossing his arms across his chest when O'Haire turns around. "Y'know something, Sean, over the past couple of months I've been abused and manipulated by you!" Kendrick says that he has been embarrassed, injured and has been set up by Sean numerous times. "You may have helped get me a Smackdown contract. But I know it was all a part of your games... but tonight... tonight I'm going to prove to you that I belong here!" He tells O'Haire that he is challenging him to a match in the middle of that ring. O'Haire begins to laugh and tries to tell Kendrick to relax but Brian isn't having it. "Alright, Brian. You're on. You're making a huge mistake. But hey, I'm not telling you anything you don't already know." He pats Kendrick on the arm and heads off.
In the back is Kurt Angle and Team Angle, Kurt preaching to Benjamin and Haas how The Undertaker, Chris Benoit and Edge could be considered to having an unfair advantage. "See, they get a six man tag team match to prepare for this Sunday. Now, I know their opponents are not on the level of us, but regardless, I think it's only right that we have a six man tag team match of our own tonight!" Benjamin asks who they'd face, Haas then adding on that he's not sure they'll be able to find anybody. Angle smiles and tells them not to worry, he has this taken care of.
2) Sean O'Haire def. Brian Kendrick via pinfall Kendrick runs right at O'Haire when the bell rings and does his best to chip away at the bigger man. Sean ends up catching him with a knee to the stomach and turns things around completely in his favor. As Kendrick struggles to get back up after being tossed around like a rag doll, he surprises O'Haire with an enzuigiri and then races to the top rope, going for a crossbody only to be caught, flipped on to the shoulders and planted with O'Haire's signature Widowmaker for the pinfall.
Sean rises to his feet and stands over Kendrick, having some words for Brian. The crowd begins to buzz a bit though and O'Haire looks up, appearing confused by it. He then turns to see Rhyno in the corner, not having a chance to move out of the way as 'The Man Beast' plows through him with a Gore! He hops back to his feet and kicks O'Haire under the ropes, pounding his chest and raising his fists to cheers.
Transitioning to footage from earlier today, The F.B.I. are seen hanging out at a pool hall with Palumbo hitting an 8 ball in to win a match against a patron. He then demands he gets his money, the man then accusing Palumbo of hustling him! DeMott and Kanyon walk up behind him and ask if there's a problem, causing the man to stumble over his words apologizing before reaching in to his wallet and handing money over to Palumbo. Nunzio and Dawn Marie then come on to the scene with Nunzio asking if the three of them are ready to take down The Undertaker, Chris Benoit and Edge tonight. "We beat Benoit and Edge last week," Kanyon replies. "We ain't worried about them or The Undertaker!" Nunzio says that's what he wants to hear but what he wants to see is somebody get whacked tonight!
3) Six Man Tag Team Match: WWE Champion The Undertaker and WWE Tag Team Champions Chris Benoit and Edge def. The F.B.I. (w/Nunzio and Dawn Marie) via pinfall Albeit with the assistance of Team Angle, The F.B.I. seem confident after Palumbo and Kanyon pulled off the win over Edge and Benoit last week. They work to keep them in the ring and Undertaker out and while the match lasts through a commercial break, Benoit begins to mount a comeback on DeMott after being grounded for a while, but as he goes to make the tag to Undertaker, the WWE Champion is pulled off the apron from behind by Nunzio. While Taker goes after the leader of the group, the referee is distracted by trying to deal with that so he never sees the tag to Edge, forcing him to send Edge back after returning his focus to the action. Eventually, however, the luck of The F.B.I. runs out as Taker ends up getting the tag and he storms in cleaning house. As a three-on-one attempt is made, Edge and Benoit return to the ring to even things up. After taking Palumbo and DeMott out of the ring, Taker is left with just Kanyon and he ends up dropping him with the Last Ride and scores the pinfall for his team.
Taker gets to his feet as his team is proclaimed the winners, Edge and Benoit coming back in to stand at his side. As the Tag Team Champions lock eyes with the WWE Champion, they end up giving a respectful nod and offer up fist bumps with Taker before continuing their celebration separately.
The cameras then pick up backstage to show The Big Show walking down the halls in street clothes. His recent actions led to Stephanie McMahon fining him and sending him home last week, but after an assault on security guards last week following that news, McMahon is once again calling Show down to the ring as he faces further consequences and we will find out what those are next.
Josh Mathews is standing by in the back as he approaches Kurt Angle, asking if he was serious about a six man tag match for himself and Team Angle tonight and if so, who his opponents are. "Of course I was serious, Josh," Angle says with a scoff. "See, this is why not just anybody can be a member of my Team Angle. It takes a lot, including the want and desire for competition and that's just what myself, Charlie and Shelton are going to do tonight and prove just how cohesive a unit we are."
Back in the arena, Smackdown General Manager Stephanie McMahon makes her way down to the ring and seems to be looking very serious. She requests a microphone and says that last week she made a tough call when she fined The Big Show and sent him home. "But clearly that wasn't enough. See, The Big Show has let his temper get the best of him and it continues to be a cause of concern for myself, the locker room, security and even our crew members. At this rate, I honestly could see it reaching the peaks of where he could do something to one of you and I cannot allow that to happen." She prepares to say more but The Big Show's music ends up interrupting instead. The five hundred pounder has a scowl on his face as he comes down and in to the ring, looking down at McMahon as he breaths heavily in to a microphone of his own. "You're right, Steph. You're right that I could harm anybody, anywhere at anytime. But do you know why? Because look at me! I'm a frickin' giant! I do what I want when I want and nobody is capable of stopping me!" McMahon says she understands he hasn't been happy about the way things are going, but Show yells back that she doesn't understand anything. If she did, he claims, she wouldn't have angered him last week by fining him and sending him home. "Well, Show, I'm going to need you to relax," She replies. "Because it isn't going to be getting any easier for you if that made you as angry as it did last week. It's that kind of attitude that puts everyone in every arena at risk each week and it's that kind of attitude that leaves me no choice... Big Show, until you can find a way to harness your anger and frustrations, I am going to have to suspend you indefinitely!" Show's eyes widen as he can't believe what he is hearing. He begins to pace back and forth and then stops at the ropes, shaking them a bit in anger before turning back to McMahon and stepping right in front of her. "You're making a big mistake, Steph... you'll regret this..." He then throws the microphone down, turns around and steps over the top rope before heading up the ramp and to the back.
Picking up in the backstage area, The Rock is seen walking when his name is called. Up to him then comes Matt Hardy and Shannon Moore, the Cruiserweight Champion telling Rock that he heard he was in search of his next big co-star. "And, unfortunately, as much as I would love to be a part of your next movie, I am just too busy. My life as Cruiserweight Champion has taken off, I have to lead the way of Mattitude and, well, my injury at the hands of Bill Goldberg... it's just too much." Rock stops him right there and asks how the ribs are, which Moore explains that Hardy has never felt so much pain, he has personally been icing Matt's ribs so he knows! "Forget about that, Rock," Hardy says while giving Moore a dirty look. "It... it's horrific pain! It feels... it feels like a train hit me, you know?" Rock removes his sunglasses and runs his hand across his head, a look of concern across his face. "A train, huh?" He questions while tapping his hand across his face. Moore then asks if he is afraid of his ribs being injured at the hands of Goldberg is well. "Know your role and shut your mouth, Aaron Carter, The Rock ain't afraid of nothing! The Rock is gonna beat the Goldberg so fast that he won't even have a chance to Spear The Rock, understand? Now, go on, get out of The Rock's face, huh? Go on, get!" Hardy says it was nice seeing Rock again and then slaps Moore upside the head before they leave.
Storming through the back is The Big Show after learning of his indefinite suspension when he is approached by Marc Lloyd, trying to get a word with Show about the news. While Show tries to ignore Lloyd, he is persistent and it leads to Show taking Lloyd by the neck and hurling him over a nearby table! Show breaths heavily over Lloyd's body before continuing his march down the halls.
4) Rey Mysterio def. Shannon Moore (w/Cruiserweight Champion Matt Hardy) via pinfall The contest is fast paced out of the gate with Moore surprising Mysterio with a backslide for a two count and even nailing a spinning DDT for another near fall. Mysterio mounts a big comeback and flies all around the ring, dropping Moore repeatedly. Hardy gets on the apron but he puts his hands up when Mysterio steps up to him. Moore then runs up to Rey, whom avoids a shot, and Shannon barely manages to stop himself from running in to Matt. Mysterio then dropkicks Moore from behind and drives him head first in to Hardy's ribs, knocking the Cruiserweight Champion off the apron and to the floor in pain, leaving Moore in perfect position for the 619! The West Coat Pop then follows for the three count.
While the audience cheers, Mysterio enjoys the victory. "A big win for Rey Mysterio but you know he has to be unhappy about not getting his Cruiserweight Championship match on Sunday!" Says Cole. As he is looking down at Moore and Hardy together, in to the ring from behind comes John Cena! He waits in anticipation for Mysterio, whom then turns right in to Cena lifting him on to his shoulders and then flipping him down to the mat back first! Cena mouths off to Mysterio once back to his feet, popping the collar of his jersey before exiting the ring and returning to the back.
John Cena is seen walking in the back after the break with a grin, stepping in to the office of Smackdown General Manager Stephanie McMahon. "Yo, Steph, let me holler at you," He says, which prompts McMahon to say she's dealing with a lot right now and she'd appreciate a little bit more respect. "Yeah, yeah, whatever. Bottom line is, you're out of a match at Backlash. Matt Hardy can't compete! But I got a beef with Rey Mysterio after he edged one out on me a few weeks back. So, put me in." McMahon crosses her arms and says she doesn't really like the attitude nor the demands. "But I like the spirit and I do need a replacement... guess you're in, John." Cena nods and leaves the office.
Back in the arena, Kurt Angle's music hits and he proceeds to make his way out with Team Angle. The three enter the ring together with a trio of unknown men standing in the corner awaiting as Angle holds a microphone in his hand. "You know, when I heard that The Undertaker, Chris Benoit and Edge were going to get a chance to work together tonight before their match with us on Sunday, I felt jealous." He says that himself, Benjamin and Haas have been working together for a while now and while they are a well oiled machine unlike their opponents at Backlash, they still want to get the work in. "Now, don't call me a miracle worker, but yours truly found three super qualified opponents in limited time. Standing in this corner are three men that just eight, ten and thirteen years ago respectively finished third in their Class D High School Wrestling Championships! Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce you to these fine gentlemen." He steps forward and holds the microphone out for them, the trio giving their names of Buddy, Henry and Graham. Angle then asks if they are ready for the biggest opportunity of their lives! Before they have a chance to respond, he pulls the microphone back and points to the hair of Henry. "Is... is that a toupee?" He then grabs hold of it and removes it from his head! Angle begins to chuckle and puts the toupee on his own head. "Look guys, I have hair again!" He says before ripping the wig off and throwing it back in Henry's face before dropping him with a forearm to the face!
5) Six Man Tag Team Match: Kurt Angle and Team Angle def. Buddy, Henry and Graham via submission The bell rings as Angle, Benjamin and Haas just lay in to their opponents. They take turns after beat downs on them with suplexes across the ring. Haas and Benjamin then feed Buddy and Graham each to Kurt for an Angle Slam before Henry is left to be placed in an Ankle Lock and forced to tap out quickly.
Angle doesn't let up on the hold as the bell rings, Haas and Benjamin giving encouragement. Down from the back, however, comes their opponents for Backlash in The Undertaker, Chris Benoit and Edge. The three champions hit the ring as a back and forth brawl begins for the second consecutive week. As Benoit and Edge are tossed from the ring, Taker knocks Haas and Benjamin down only to be laid out with an Angle Slam! Benoit returns to the ring and takes a double flapjack from Charlie and Shelton, leading to Edge returning to the ring to a three-on-one beat down. Angle steps to the outside and grabs a steel chair, returning and placing it around the ankle of Edge! He proceeds to head to the second rope but before he has the chance to jump off, Taker and Benoit are back up and charge for Haas and Benjamin. Angle escapes to the outside, Team Angle not far behind as they quickly back down from the ring, Taker left pacing and pointing in their direction as Benoit helps get the chair off Edge's leg.
Seen walking in the back is The Rock when up to him walks Los Guerreros, Eddie and Chavo saying they heard he is looking for some new stars in his next movie and maybe he has heard about some of the films they've been in. "Ah, yeah, The Rock's seen you two before... Cheech and Chong, right?!" Chavo seems to take offense to the comment while Eddie offers Rock a handshake and says he hopes they'll at least give him some consideration. Rock hesitantly accepts the gesture and says that he thinks he already found his guy but he'll keep an eye open if he needs a couple of extras. He excuses himself, saying he has a contract to go sign. After he walks off, Eddie proceeds to show Chavo that he has The Rock's wallet! "Hey, Chavo, drinks on Dwayne tonight! Haha!" He wraps his arm around Chavo's neck and they head off. Meanwhile, the contract signing between The Rock and Goldberg is coming up next!
At ringside following the break is Michael Cole, pointing out that while Tazz is in the ring getting ready for the contract signing coming up, he's going to run down the Backlash card for this Sunday. In a winner takes all six man tag team match, The Undertaker, Chris Benoit and Edge defend the WWE Championship as well as the WWE Tag Team Championship against Kurt Angle, Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin — Team Angle; Just adjusted after Matt Hardy's injury ruled him out, John Cena will step in to take on Rey Mysterio; Over on Raw, a big tag team match itself when the Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho and Christian team up against Shawn Michaels and Kevin Nash; For the Women's Championship, Trish Stratus puts the title on the line against Jazz; With the World Tag Team Championship up for grabs, Kane and Rob Van Dam defend against The Dudley Boyz in a Tables Match; Plus, former tag team partners and friends collide when Booker T goes one-on-one with Goldust; Then, for the World Heavyweight Championship, a big time WrestleMania rematch when Brock Lesnar defends against Triple H; Lastly, the match we are about to see the contract signing for, as for the first time ever Goldberg is in action in a WWE ring when he takes on The Rock!
Tazz stands in the middle of the ring and says that it is a tremendous honor to be presiding over this contract signing for one of the biggest matches we never thought we'd see. "So, let's get this going! First, ladies and gentlemen: The Rock!" The man that calls himself 'The Great One' proceeds to make his way out from the back but stops himself halfway down the ramp to motion behind him, about ten security guards following behind to boos. He then heads in to the ring with a smile, taking a microphone from the table and cutting Tazz off as he goes to speak. "The Rock has this, Tazz. Why don't you take your ass back to the announce table with the absolutely thrilling Michael Cole?!" Tazz seems disappointed but shrugs his shoulders and leaves, Rock saying that having a moderator for this isn't necessary because this is going to be short and sweet just like the match at Backlash. "See, what's going to happen right here and right now is The Rock is going to sign this contract, Bill Goldberg is going to walk his bald ass out here and he's going to stand behind The Rock's personal security, whom will then hand the big kosher whisker biscuit himself the contract for him to sign and this will all be said and done! And if you think The Rock hired some pansy ass security like he did last week you are mistaken!" He says that these men are going to be well paid to make sure Goldberg doesn't try anything again this week. He then reaches in to his pocket and appears very confused, looking in his other one and then around his vest. "Where... where's The Rock's wallet?" The security team then all turn to look to Rock, whom tells them it's fine, he's good for it. "You know The Rock's good for it! A-list movie star, greatest WWE superstar of all time, baby! You know he's... where... where you going?" The security team proceeds to walk to the sides of the ramp and make their way toward the back, Rock trying to plea with them to return — saying he'll pay them double! After they all disappear, he changes his view on them. "Y'know what! The Rock doesn't need any of you! The Rock doesn't need any protection anyway! The Rock is gonna whoop Bill Goldberg's sorry pansy-candy ass this Sunday at Backlash and tonight too if it has to be done, you understand?!" He then proceeds to sign his name on the contract, looking around quickly and then stepping toward the ropes as he prepares to leave only to be stopped in his tracks...
As Goldberg's music hits and brings the Nashville crowd to their feet. He proceeds to make his entrance, staring The Rock down from atop the stage. Once he gets down to the ring, he stands up on the ring apron and keeps his eyes locked on Rock, whom warns him to stay back. Goldberg then slowly enters the ring and stays on the opposite side of the table, his music fading out as the crowd continues to chant his name. "You run your mouth way too much, Rock." He says with a slight grin. "You keep on running your mouth and you keep on running away but this Sunday you ain't going nowhere, boy!" He says Rock keeps talking about one thing with their match at Backlash that he agrees with: It's going to be quick. "And I'm going to enjoy every second of it..." He then places his hand down on the contract and grabs the pen, proceeding to sign his name on the dotted line. "And with that, Rock, it's official: You're next!" Just as he says that, however, he is suddenly hit from behind by A-Train! "What the hell is going on here?" Questions Tazz. A-Train pummels Goldberg on the mat and then puts the boots to him, The Rock stepping to the outside and seeming to give direction. A-Train flips over the table and removes the covering from it, proceeding to pull it up in to the corner and then head back over to Goldberg. After a few heavy shots to the back, he tosses Goldberg up against the table and has some words for him. "The Rock said he was looking for a co-star in his next movie," Says Cole. "I mean, maybe... maybe it's A-Train?! That's the only explanation I can think of!" A-Train then backs up to the other side of the ring, letting out a yell before charging full force only for Goldberg to step out of the corner and throw the table right in to A-Train's face! A-Train wobbles and spins around slowly, turning back in Goldberg's direction and dropped with a Spear! Goldberg pops up to his feet looking fired up, removing his shirt and standing over A-Train's body. He then drags the big man back up and musters all of his strength to hoist him in position for the Jackhammer! Before it can be landed, however, Rock comes in from behind and drills his rival in the back of the head with the ring bell! A-Train is dropped and slowly rolls under the bottom rope, Rock walking around Goldberg's body and trash talking him a bit. He tosses his leather vest off to the side and then drags Goldberg up in order to plant him in the center of the ring with the Rock Bottom! The crowd boos as Rock quickly gets out of the ring, making his way up the ramp with a big smile on his face. As he turns back to the ring, however, Goldberg uses the ropes to pull himself back up, keeping his eyes on Rock as he smirks right back at him! Rock's smile slowly fades away as Goldberg points in his direction. "This Sunday... your ass is mine!" Goldberg warns as the show comes to an end!

April 26, 2003: Gaylord Entertainment Center in Nashville, TN
1) Crash Holly def. Jimmy Yang via pinfall Making his return after over four months out due to injury, Holly is aggressive with Yang seeming like he wants to prove himself. Getting a bit cocky with the crowd, it allows Yang to roll him up for a close two count. Both men get back up and Yang hits a couple of knock downs and take downs but after a trip in to the corner, Holly delivers the Crash Landing and covers Yang for the three count. Holly pops to his feet and raises his fists in the air, trash talking the crowd as part of his celebration.
2) Jamie Noble (w/Nidia) def. Chavo Guerrero (w/Eddie Guerrero) via pinfall Looking to gain some revenge on Los Guerreros for their run ins over recent weeks, Noble uses plenty of underhanded tactics that shouldn't come as a surprise to Eddie or Chavo. Nidia ends up tripping up Chavo, so Eddie comes over to even the odds by pulling her by the hair. While Noble is distracted, Chavo goes for a roll up but Noble ends up pushing through with the tights and it gets him the pinfall. Noble rolls under the bottom rope quickly afterward and quickly bales with Nidia, leaving Eddie and Chavo to stand together, seeming to accept the loss despite not being happy with it.
3) Tajiri def. Sean Evans via pinfall The local Evans hardly gets a chance to do any damage as Tajiri is very determined. After getting a neckbreaker in for a short two count, Evans whips Tajiri in to the corner and charges after him only to end up getting wrapped up in the Tarantula! The crowd cheers for Tajiri as he eventually lets go of the hold at the referee's count of four, coming back in to the ring to nail the Buzzsaw Kick and get the win.
4) John Cena def. Rikishi via pinfall After ripping on Rikishi in a rap pre-match while noting their prior rivalry, Rikishi comes out hitting hard and heavy. He ends up actually applying the Stink Face to Cena but if anything it fires John up, leading to him distracting the referee and then using his chain to punch Rikishi in the back of the head! He then shows off his strength by hoisting the big man over his shoulders and drops him with the same slam he did to Rey Mysterio a couple of nights ago. Cena then hooks the far leg and the referee counts the one, two, three. The audience boos Cena as he gets to his feet, mouthing off some to the disapproving fans on his way out of the ring and toward the back.
April 27, 2003: Worcester Centrum in Worcester, MA (Held Live Before Backlash)
Jonathan Coachman is backstage talking about tonight's Backlash show before introducing his guests at this time to be the World Tag Team Champions Kane and Rob Van Dam. Coach mentions that they had a bit of a warm up this past Monday in a Tables Match with 3 Minute Warning and asks if they feel prepared for The Dudley Boyz tonight. "Bubba and D-Von know their way around wood," RVD says with a laugh. "But we're gonna smoke those fools!" Kane says with all due respect to The Dudley Boyz — he does say they're one of the great tag teams of this generation — he and RVD are on a roll and don't plan on slowing down any time soon. "And while this match is what they thrive in, we're taking them down in a blaze..." RVD says he likes the sound of that, laughing to himself as Kane and Coach both give him a look. Van Dam looks up and questions 'what?', shrugging and walking away. Kane adjusts his title over his shoulder with a chuckle and follows his partner.
Seen in the parking lot is a car pulling up, the doors opening on either side with Shawn Michaels stepping out of one and Kevin Nash the other. The two are all smiles as they step around the car, giving each other their signature 'too sweet' hand gesture. They each throw their bags over their shoulders and continue on their way ahead of their tag team match later tonight.
Elsewhere in the back, Cruiserweight Champion Matt Hardy is seen talking with Shannon Moore, saying he believes that John Cena will step in his place tonight and defeat Rey Mysterio. "How are the ribs, Matt?" Shannon asks, causing Hardy to chuckle and say he believes he will be just fine. He pulls the Cruiserweight Championship belt over his shoulder and says that Matt Hardy Version 1 may not be indestructible but he is still the greatest champion the WWE has to offer and he could prove it tonight if he wanted to but questions why he dares risk hurting himself any more.
Standing by is Terri Runnels where she introduces The Dudley Boyz as her guest, mentioning that Rob Van Dam and Kane were interviewed earlier and seemed to be not intimidated by facing the two of them in a Tables Match. Well D-Von gets fired up, Bubba is quick to calm him down. "Kane and RVD have been tough opponents, I'll give them that... but this is our match for a reason." Bubba says when he tells D-Von to get the tables, it's only a matter of time before somebody on the other side goes crashing through. Terri then asks about their recent change in attitude, seeming much more aggressive since losing the gold at WrestleMania. "It's determination," D-Von replies. "Desire to be the very best tag team in the world like we know we are!" Bubba adds that it isn't out of a lack of respect for their competition, but their desire to be the best. "And it's not for somebody like Eric Bischoff because he doesn't like RVD and Kane. It's because we want to and we know we can. So, Kane and RVD can not be intimidated, but they will be tasting table wood tonight.
At ringside are Michael Cole and Tazz, the duo talking about what is to come on the Smackdown side of things tonight, eventually coming to Goldberg versus The Rock. Tazz says that this is a dream match between two of the biggest stars that were in different companies just a few years ago, a match that some thought we would never, ever see! Tazz then dives in to the tale of the tape, comparing the height and weight of the two as well as their accomplishments. "Goldberg may have mowed down guy after guy back in WCW but this is the WWE and he's not starting off with just some Joe Schmo, yknow — he's starting with The Rock! I'm hyped, Cole, it's gonna be wild!" The two then begin to discuss the upcoming match here on Heat between Billy Kidman and Nunzio, talking about the recent rivalry the two have had with Torrie Wilson and Dawn Marie rekindling their feud in the mix.
1) Billy Kidman (w/Torrie Wilson) def. Nunzio (w/Dawn Marie) via pinfall The contest starts with Nunzio showing disrespect with a slap to the face, prompting Kidman to unleash on him. Some involvement from Marie allows Nunzio to come back from being dominated and ground Billy, giving some trash talk in Torrie's direction on the outside in the process. Kidman works back to his feet and begins to mount a comeback, a few dropkicks and tosses rattling Nunzio. A distraction from Marie on the apron leads to a thumb to the eye from Nunzio, Wilson charging over and wiping Marie off the apron. Nunzio looks to go for his signature DDT, the Arrivederci, but Kidman pushes out of it and wipes him out with an enzuigiri. Kidman then makes his way to the top rope and nails the Shooting Star Press, hooking both legs off of it for the three count.
Wilson enters the ring to stand at Kidman's side, a big smile as she raises his arm as the winner. The two stand tall as they mockingly wave good bye to the upset Nunzio and Dawn on the outside.
After a WWE Shopzone advertisement and a few packages for the Backlash show to come, Jim Ross and Jerry 'The King' Lawler are panned to at their announce desk where they discuss the Raw side of things coming up on Backlash, culminating with the massive WrestleMania rematch between Brock Lesnar and Triple H, where Ross and Lawler argue about who is going to walk out the World Heavyweight Champion. "Only one way to find out," J.R. says to the camera. "Order Backlash through your local pay-per-view provider right now and join us on a night of epic show downs!"

April 27, 2003: Worcester Centrum in Worcester, MA
A video package airs with "Remedy" by Cold accompanying it, keeping a focus on the WWE in-ring debut of Goldberg and his rivalry with The Rock in between highlights of the other big matches set to take place tonight, such as the World Heavyweight Championship rematch between Triple H and Brock Lesnar and the Winner Take All six man tag team match when The Undertaker, Chris Benoit and Edge battle Kurt Angle and his proteges of Team Angle, Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas. The promo comes to a conclusion with The Rock saying he'd whoop Goldberg come Backlash with the WCW legend vowing that The Rock was 'next'! The cameras then enter the Worcester Centrum from Worcester, Massachusetts as pyrotechnics hit the stage, Jim Ross and Jerry 'The King' Lawler welcoming everyone to the show representing Raw. After discussing some of the things to come on their side tonight, they send things to ringside for Smackdown with Michael Cole and Tazz. They speak of Goldberg versus The Rock and the Winner Take All six man tag and more. After shooting things over to Spanish commentators Carlos Cabrera and Hugo Savinovich, the bell rings as Lilian Garcia announces from in the ring that the opening contest is a Tables Match for the World Tag Team Championship! She then explains that this will be an elimination style match, meaning the last team to have a member remaining not put through a table will be the World Tag Team champions. The match starts off hectic with a brawl from the two teams spreading all around the ins and outs of the ring. After some back and forth and some tables being set up on the outside and some teases of each side having a member put through early, Van Dam and Kane get the upper hand after D-Von is thrown in to the steel steps. Bubba is then brought back in to the ring, pushed in to the corner and double teamed by the champions. After a missed clothesline on Kane, he turns in to a spinning wheel kick from RVD. A table is then brought in to the ring by Kane and he sets it up, drilling Bubba with some strikes and laying him across it. The crowd begins to cheer as RVD makes his way to the top rope, D-Von returning to the ring as he is prepping and running in to Kane with a forearm to the back. An attack on him begins with Bubba getting up off of the table, charging to Van Dam and pushing him by the legs off the top rope — sending him flying to the outside and right through one of the set up tables! Rob Van Dam is eliminated. Kane staggers back to his feet against the ropes, The Dudley Boyz relentless with attacks with RVD gone. A few double team moves to wear down Kane with a big back suplex and neckbreaker combination before Bubba shoves D-Von in the chest and tells him to get the tables! "Get the tables, J.R.!" Lawler shouts. "It's over for Kane and RVD! They never stood a chance!" D-Von retrieves one of the tables from the outside but as they go to set it up, Kane comes in with punches and kicks. The challengers come back against him and whip him off the ropes, Kane returning to big boot D-Von in the face and then clothesline Bubba over the top. He then pulls up the table D-Von brought in and sets it up, slamming his hands in to it. He then turns to D-Von charging at him but ducks a shot to the face, catching him by the throat and delivering a Chokeslam right through the table! D-Von Dudley is eliminated. Kane is on a knee as Bubba gets back in and wastes no time attacking again. Clubbing blows to the back of the head are followed up by a knee to the neck with Kane up against the middle rope, Bubba not letting up at all as he works over Kane. He then retrieves a table on the outside and brings it in, even using it as a weapon as he drives it in to the mid-section of Kane in the corner. He then sets up and looks prepared to try and Bubba Bomb Kane through it only to eat a few elbows to the face instead. After an exchange of strikes leads to Kane catching Bubba by the neck and slamming him off the table, he takes him in to the corner and sits him on the top rope. "What in the world is Kane trying to do here?" Asks Ross. Kane makes his way to the second rope and hooks hold of Bubba, seeming ready to go for a superplex. Bubba fights his way out of it, however, giving some shots to the ribs. He then looks to hook hold of the legs but Kane fights out of that grasp himself. Dropping back down to the mat, Kane suddenly catches Bubba with a big punch before taking him by the throat. Kane then climbs back to the second rope, takes a look behind him and then comes down with a Chokeslam through the table! Kane and Rob Van Dam def. The Dudley Boyz to retain the World Tag Team Championship! As Kane and RVD are announced as still the champions, Van Dam makes his way down to ringside to meet Kane while the referee presents them with the title belts. They raise their arms up while RVD winces in pain, Kane proceeding to assist him back up the ramp. Meanwhile, inside of the ring, D-Von walks up to Bubba with his hands on his hips looking disappointed. He assists his brother to his feet and apologizes but Bubba takes him by the back of the neck and pulls him in. They break apart and Bubba nods in acceptance, telling D-Von it's okay before the two of them leave the ring together.Transitioning to the office of Eric Bischoff, he smiles and turns to face The Bischoff Administration to tell them that's what happens when you go against him. "I extended the olive branch to The Dudley Boyz this past Monday and they slapped it out of my hand! That right there is what happens when you reject the leadership and support of Eric Bischoff!" He tells Morley to make sure their friend Goldust gets the same message before his match with Booker T later. Storm then points behind Bischoff, whom turns to see Evolution enter the room. "You know something, Eric," Triple H says as he removes his sunglasses and tucks them in to the pocket of his suit. "Back in September when you presented me with the World Heavyweight Championship, everyone knew that I deserved it. They may not have liked it, but they knew there was nobody else worthy of carrying the Raw brand... and Brock Lesnar sure as hell isn't worthy, either. You know it and I know it." He brings up Bischoff talking about getting rid of some dead weight last Monday and he thinks he can solve that problem real easily for him by beating Lesnar so bad tonight that he's left embarrassed and in no condition to even come back to his show. Bischoff looks back to his administration before looking at Hunter again and saying that all sounds great but after what happened at WrestleMania he isn't so sure that'll be the outcome tonight. "I am 'The Game', Eric! What happened at WrestleMania was a fluke! Those are the facts! I'm going to run through Brock Lesnar tonight and you're going to fire his ass tomorrow when I do!" Bischoff gets a bit defensive, prompting Flair to step in between the two of them and tell them to relax, telling Bischoff that he understands, Lesnar was a big get for Raw. "But I guarantee tonight is not his night. It's Triple H's night! It's Evolution's night! Woo! The World Heavyweight Championship is coming back to where it belongs!" He pats HHH on the back and pulls him along as the group leaves the room together. An outside shot of the Worcester Centrum arena is shown as Michael Cole and Tazz have taken over duties for the upcoming Smackdown contest. The cameras then come back in to the arena where the very popular Rey Mysterio makes his entrance, playing up to the crowd as he makes his way down and in to the ring for his match. The man that was supposed to be his opponent tonight, the Cruiserweight Champion Matt Hardy, then steps out to the stage along with Shannon Moore. Matt has one hand cradling his mid-section as he holds a microphone in his hand. "Rey, how unfortunate it is that I can not defend my Cruiserweight Championship against you tonight and once again show the power of Mattitude by defeating you just as I did at WrestleMania!" He looks to the booing crowd and tells them not to blame him for their own poor decisions. He then proceeds to introduce the man replacing him in the match tonight, John Cena. The young and cocky rapper makes his way out and begins to drop lines on Mysterio, saying things such as that he'd remove his mask but he doesn't want to scare the children and that he's got no chance against him. "I'm the fastest rising star in all the WWE! Man, you're so short you can't see me!" He waves his hand in front of his face with a laugh and continues on before wrapping it up. "When it's all said and done, over and through, your ass is gonna be done at the hands of my new finishing move: The F-U!" He drops the microphone and gives a modified handshake to Hardy, but turns right in to Mysterio diving over the top rope on to him with a somersault plancha! Mysterio throws Cena in to the ring after the pre-match attack and the bell sounds, Rey with a quick flurry of kicks and strikes in the corner. Cena shoves him down but Mysterio comes right back, a hot start as he takes Cena down repeatedly in many high flying and fast ways for near falls. Mysterio flies off the ropes after another two count but returns right in to a clothesline that plants him on the mat. After a near fall for Cena, he begins to keep things grounded as he puts Mysterio in a headlock. Transitioning between that and a chinlock, Mysterio eventually fights his way back to his feet and throws sharp kicks to the legs. Another hot streak begins for Mysterio, but Moore provides a distraction and it leads to Cena getting things back on to the mat again. Mysterio once again fights back but this time it is Hardy providing the distraction and getting Cena back some control. The crowd is upset until Mysterio works his way back up one more time, Cena responding to the comeback attempt by tossing him over the ropes. Rey hangs on, however, and stays on the apron. A shoulder thrust to the mid-section is followed up on by a springboard seat drop. A hurricanrana and an attempt at the 619 follow with Cena managing to avoid the feet and nail the Throwback! He makes the cover and hooks the far leg but Mysterio manages to kick out at two. Cena questions the referee before punching Mysterio a few times, then locking him in to a bearhug on the mat. Mysterio struggles in the grasp with the crowd trying to will him on. Mysterio slowly begins to work his way to his knees, trying to fight his way up when Cena begins to club down on the back. "The young John Cena is quite the talker," Says Tazz. "But he's also able to back it up in the ring!" The Worcester crowd once again starts to get behind Mysterio, whom once again gets to his feet and manages to fight out of Cena's grasp, connecting with a flurry of kicks to the legs and mid-section, Mysterio with a springboard crossbody that Cena rolls through on. Mysterio slips over the shoulder and goes for a kick to the head, Cena ducking underneath it and catching the ankle. He then grabs the other leg but Mysterio manages to push himself up in the air and land a wheelbarrow DDT! Mysterio pops back up and points out to the crowd when Moore gets on to the apron and begins to yell at the referee. Mysterio, having had enough of this, flips Moore over the ropes and waits for him to start to get back up before hitting a dropkick to the back. Rey then bounces off the ropes and nails Shannon with the 619! Cena gets back to his feet and misses a clothesline, Mysterio jumping up and hitting a hurricanrana that places Cena in to the ropes and in position for the 619 as well! Rey then bounces off the ropes but Hardy trips him up from the outside! The referee takes notice of it though and steps right over toward Hardy and points at him before ejecting him from ringside! The crowd cheers while the Cruiserweight Champion is livid, Mysterio getting back up and keeping his eyes on Matt as he backs away from the ring furiously. The joy from the audience is suddenly taken away, however, as Mysterio turns right back to Cena and his F-U! Both legs are then hooked for the three count.John Cena def. Rey Mysterio via pinfall! The referee raises Cena's arm up but he rips it away, instead wanting to celebrate himself. Not ten seconds later, Hardy slides in to the ring and locks eyes with Cena, giving a nod that leads to John leaving the ring. Matt then races over to Rey despite the referee trying to stop him, Hardy dragging Mysterio to his feet and delivering a Twist of Fate right in the center of the ring! Hardy stands right back up and raises his Cruiserweight Championship up over his head to jeers from the fans.Standing by backstage is Jonathan Coachman, whom introduces his guest at this time to be Booker T. He thanks Booker for his time and asks for his thoughts going in to his match with his former tag team partner and best friend, Goldust. "Man, I've been thinking all week long about this," He responds while shaking his head. " I don't know. It's tough. It's tough because I don't want to have to fight Goldy, man. I don't want to fight a guy that I went from not being able to stand to calling a brother!" He says that, however, if Goldust is going to be doing the bidding of The Bischoff Administration then this is just how it's going to have to be. "I don't know what is going on with him but if I gotta go out there and whoop his ass... maybe it'll knock some sense in to him... and if Chief Morley and his boys wanna get involved, I'll whoop they ass too. Now can you dig that... sucka?!" He then walks off with that match coming up next. While Chief Morley is at ringside giving some words to Goldust, the referee signals for the bell and Booker steps right toward his former best friend. Goldust puts his hands up and seems to be apologetic, Booker shaking his head in response. Morley gives a slap to the ring apron and barks an order at Goldust, which leads to 'The Bizarre One' dropping to a knee and throwing a shot to the chin. He clubs away at Booker from behind and works him in to the corner. After a few heavy shots, he is then spun and whipped off to the ropes and caught with a big side kick on the return. Goldust rolls under the bottom rope and Morley storms over, yelling at Goldust and demanding he get back up. As he continues barking, Booker steps out and tries to get in between the two, Morley spinning him around and getting in his face. Goldust takes advantage from behind and pushes Booker shoulder first in to the ring post, then hurling him in to the steel steps. He breaks up the count of the official and then steps back over Booker, Morley giving another order that Goldust seems reluctant to follow. "Do it or else!" Morley warns, Goldust then proceeding to hit a suplex in to the entrance aisle. He pulls Booker back up slowly and tosses him in to the ring, going after and making a cover for a two count. Morley gives a demand to go for the cover again and it's an even shorter count, causing Morley to get frustrated. Goldust starts to argue with him over it and it prompts Morley to warn him again. Hands on his hips, Goldust looks around the building and proceeds to drag Booker up in to the corner, Morley questioning what he is doing as he appears to be setting up for Shattered Dreams! Goldust backs to the other side of the ring and Morley gets on to the apron, yelling across the ring. Goldust looks at him momentarily before running toward Booker only to end up eating a clothesline instead. Booker then steps up to Morley and rocks him off the apron with a punch, turning to Goldust and dropping him multiple times with some heavy strikes and a big kick. He then starts to get the crowd fired up while waving his hand in front of his face, giving the crowd a spinaroonie! He pops back up but Morley is once again on the apron, leading to Booker yet again knocking him off. "Can we get rid of this damn Chief Morley already?!" Asks J.R. Goldust sees it as an opening and hits an inverted atomic drop that is followed up by a DDT. Before he can go for a pin though, Morley gets on to the apron with a steel chair in hand. "Use it!" He demands, prompting confusion from Goldust, whom is quick to say 'no' in response. Morley continues to insist on it. "Do it or else it will be done!" He shoves the chair in Goldust's chest, whom looks down at it and seems to be thinking about it. He instead shoves it back in to Morley, whom hands it right back! Booker then comes up from behind as Goldust and pushes him in to Morley — driving the chair face first! The chair then comes right back in to Goldust's face and it allows Booker to roll him up for the one, two, three!Booker T def. Goldust via pinfall! Booker emerges back to his feet as he is proclaimed the winner, the official raising his arm up. He takes a look down at Goldust and slowly leaves the ring, turning his back with his hands on his hips. "You know Booker T didn't want to have to fight his former best friend but perhaps it was necessary" J.R. comments. Morley enters the ring as Booker is on his way up the ramp and stands over Goldust, whom is on a knee. "What the hell was that?!" He questions while Goldust has his head hung low. Morley lifts his head up by the chin and delivers a slap across the face! The crowd cheers as Goldust pops up and shoves Morley back in to the corner! He gets right in the face of Chief and holds on to the ropes, having some words for him. Before any fists can be thrown by Goldust, however, William Regal and Lance Storm come in to the ring from behind and take him down! The three begin an assault with Morley then going and grabbing the chair he had told Goldust to use. "I warned you!" He says as Regal and Storm drag Goldust up by his arms and hold him in place. As Morley prepares to use the chair, Booker comes back in to the ring and charges at Regal with a punch to the face. He then side-steps Storm and throws a side kick, avoiding a strike with the chair and pushing Morley in to Regal — causing him to fall to the outside with Storm. Morley then turns right in to the Book End and Booker pops right back up with the steel chair in his hand, holding it over his head to the delight of the fans. He stops himself, however, and turns to Goldust getting up in the corner. He then holds the chair out, which Goldust is a bit hesitant at first. He then steps forward and takes the chair before looking to Morley staggering back up via the ropes. Goldust then lets out a frustrated yell as he swings the chair right over the head of Morley! "Oh my word!" Lawler yells. "Goldust just scrambled Morley's brains!" Goldust tosses the chair down as Storm and Regal are quick to assist a motionless Morley out of the ring and tend to him. Goldust watches on and then begins to walk away only for Booker to take him by the arm and spin him around. The two lock eyes with each other, no words being exchanged. After a bit of a wait, the two then embrace one another with the Worcester crowd cheering for the re-uniting. The two then raise their arms up together in celebration before leaving the ring while Morley remains unconscious and being checked on by his Bischoff Administration brethren and the referee from the match. After an advertisement for WrestleMania XIX being available on DVD later this week, the cameras pick up in the back to Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho and Christian. The two of them are talking about how great they are when they come across the Women's Champion, Trish Stratus, talking to a crew member. Christian taps her on the shoulder and looks her up and down, asking how she's doing. "You know, Trish, we're both from Toronto, y'know, so, uh... we've got a lot in common." Jericho puts his hand out and tells Stratus not to listen to him, they're both champions, so they're the ones with a lot in common. Christian then says that after their match with Shawn Michaels and Kevin Nash, they'll both be winners. "See, I think you guys are going to end up being two time losers," Trish replies with a laugh. "Because there's no chance that either of you are going to be spending a night with me or win your match against Shawn and Kevin. But hey, that's just one girl's opinion." She shrugs her shoulders and walks away, Jericho seeming appalled by her comments. He scoffs and pats Christian on the chest and tells him shes not going to beat Jazz away. "Yeah," Christian replies. "Black power, bro." Jericho is surprised by the comment as Christian heads off with their match against Nash and Michaels up next.
A video package follows, highlighting the history between Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho over the course of this year and the involvement of Christian in their rivalry. The night after WrestleMania, Jericho would mock Michaels as the new Intercontinental Champion. As he and Christian prepared to attack Michaels, however, Kevin Nash would make his return after almost nine months on the shelf to be at the side of one of his best friends. Over the weeks, Jericho and Christian would scheme to take out their adversaries with Michaels and Nash showing their bond over the years to be strong, vowing to shut the loud mouths of Jericho and Christian in a tag team match at Backlash. The bell rings, Michaels and Nash looking to each other and playing rock, papers, scissors with HBK getting the win on it, thus he is starting things off. He steps to the center of the ring, looking to his opponents where Jericho pats Christian on the back and says "Go get 'em!" before stepping out to the apron. Michaels and Christian lock up with transitions between headlocks and some chain wrestling to the mat comes after, the two getting back up with Christian throwing a thumb to the eye. He shoves Michaels in to the corner and beats him down with punches and kicks until the referee reaches a count of four. He pulls back with his hands up and taunts to the booing crowd, laughing with Jericho before walking over to Nash and trash talking him some. Christian then turns back around to a thumb to the eye back from Michaels! HBK proceeds to hit an atomic drop, a flying forearm and a big back body drop that leaves Christian groaning in pain. Michaels proceeds to sit up in the turnbuckles, smiling with Nash. Jericho proceeds to tag himself in, stepping through the ropes as Shawn gets a bit more serious. The two tie up with Michaels besting Jericho, frustrating Y2J. Michaels ends up going to the top rope and leaps off for a dropkick but Chris catches him, looking to apply the Walls of Jericho! Michaels throws his body around, however, and manages to spin out of it. He gets back up and plants Jericho with a flying forearm, going off the ropes after only for Christian to pull the top one down and send Michaels crashing hard to the floor! Christian then quickly goes down and proceeds to drop Michaels with an inverted DDT. As Michaels groans and holds his back in pain, Christian yanks him up by the hair and feeds him back to Jericho, whom begins to work the back and make multiple covers for two counts. After a double underhook backbreaker results in a close near fall, Jericho grows frustrated and starts to slap Michaels around but begins to eat some punches and chops, Jericho then ducking in to the body and slamming Shawn back first in to the turnbuckles. A tag to Christian is made and he walks in to deliver a big sidewalk slam, getting right back up and doing Michaels' signature pose. He then points and laughs with Jericho but suddenly gets rolled up from behind — just barely able to kick out at two! Christian wastes no time as he gets back up and drops an elbow across the spine, working at the back some before dragging Michaels back up in to the corner, receiving a flurry of strikes with Michaels getting fired back up, throwing a kick toward the mid-section but having it caught. Michaels attempts an enzuigiri but Christian ducks underneath it, scooping him right up and delivering a backbreaker across the knee that he turns in to a submission hold. Michaels groans in pain as Christian points in the direction of Nash and mocks him before eventually letting up on the hold and throwing Shawn in to the mat. Christian stomps the lower back and then proceeds to bring Michaels in to the corner and hang him up in a tree of woe. Christian then proceeds to climb to the top rope over Michaels and holds his arms out to the disapproving audience, the referee getting to a four count before he jumps down and makes the tag.
Jericho enters the ring with a big grin on his face, throwing a boot to Michaels' sternum that causes him to fall from the tree of woe. Jericho gets a few hard shots in before dragging HBK up and delivering a suplex to the middle of the ring, going for the cover after with his foot on the chest and flexing toward Nash for a two count. Jericho begins to stomp at Michaels and slap him around again, pulling at the hair and yelling in his face. Michaels then comes back with chops to the chest, stepping in to each one more and more. He then ducks a Jericho punch and catches him with a back body drop on the turnaround. The crowd begins to cheer louder as Michaels begins to crawl toward his corner, getting closer and closer to Nash. Christian comes in to the ring and begins to charge across to try and stop Michaels but the referee gets in the way. Nash is tagged in and he storms toward a backing down Christian with the referee turning and stopping Nash now — telling him to get back in to his corner! "I don't think the official ever saw the tag, J.R.!" Says Lawler. Nash is fuming and slowly returns to his side of the ring, the audience booing as Jericho proceeds to retrieve Michaels and bring him back in to the corner for a lengthy double team. Christian mocks Nash with a taunt of the arm Diesel style, which fires Nash up to come across the ring and club away at both Christian and Jericho despite the referee trying to stop him. Nash follows Jericho to the outside and catches a punch before throwing Jericho over the Spanish announce table. Christian then comes running but Nash catches him with a huge big boot! The referee leans through the ropes and warns Nash to return to his corner, Kevin putting his hands up and slowly walking away. Michaels stirs up via the ropes back in the ring, Christian slow to get himself back in as blood is pouring from his forehead! "I think that ginormous boot from Kevin Nash busted Christian wide open!" J.R. suggests. A groggy Christian comes over to Michaels but doesn't even get a shot in before eating punch after punch to the face. A big scoop slam is followed up by Michaels making his way to the top rope and nailing his signature elbow drop! Shawn then gets back up and points toward his corner with both hands before walking over and finally making the official tag to Nash. He comes in and Jericho immediately tries to get involved but is plowed right through with a shoulder block and a clothesline over the top. Christian tries to hop on Nash's back but ends up being thrown right over and down to the mat. He tosses Christian all around the ring and overpowers him, a flurry of elbows being hit in the corner with Nash nailing a big sidewalk slam before returning the favor with his signature Diesel fist taunt. He turns back to Christian and pulls him back up by the hair only to have the eyes raked! Christian then kicks the knee and delivers a DDT before crawling to the corner, pulling himself up via the ropes and getting to the second turnbuckle. Nash gets back to his feet and Christian dives off but ends up eating a mid-air big boot! Nash makes the cover and hooks the leg but Jericho runs in and breaks it up. As he stands over Nash and berates him, Y2J suddenly turns right in to Sweet Chin Music from Michaels! Jericho rolls under the bottom rope off of it as the official tries to get things under control with Michaels trying to go after Jericho. With the distraction, Christian suddenly low blows Nash from behind! He then staggers back up with a smile and slowly attempts the Unprettier only for Nash to end up shoving him away and for Michaels to connect with Sweet Chin Music on him as well! Christian turns around in a daze off of it and right in to a Jackknife Powerbomb from Nash! Both legs are then hooked for the pinfall!Shawn Michaels and Kevin Nash def. Chris Jericho and Christian via pinfall! The crowd is elated for the victory of Michaels and Nash, the two of them standing tall together in the middle of the ring with their arms raised. Michaels jumps up for the Kliq signal and the duo then pose together as they did before in the center of the ring. On the outside, meanwhile, Jericho coddles Christian in his arms against the barricade while yelling toward the two in the ring. "Look what you did to this beautiful face!" He warns that this isn't over as the celebration continues for the winners.Cutting to the back, Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin are seen talking to each other when their leader Kurt Angle walks up and asks them how they're feeling. Haas and Benjamin assure him they're doing good but Angle says while that's 'good', they need to be feeling great so he wants them to take a knee and bow their heads in prayer. Haas and Benjamin are a bit hesitant at first, but Angle insists so they oblige. "Dear God, tonight WWE presents Backlash... and after the injustice of what took place at WrestleMania — under your watch, I may add — where The Undertaker, Chris Benoit and Edge walked away with what rightfully belonged to myself, Charlie and Shelton... it is time for us to muster up the strength to overcome and regain both the WWE Championship and WWE Tag Team Championship..." Haas and Benjamin give out an 'amen' and go to stand but Angle takes them by the arms and tells them he isn't finished yet. "See, I prayed during the '96 Olympics before I went out and won a gold medal with a broken freakin' neck... speaking of which... God, what the hell was that all about?! I know I'm a freak athlete and the greatest to ever lace up a pair of boots but a broken freakin' neck?! Are you kidding me?!" He scoffs, Benjamin and Haas opening their eyes and looking bewildered at one another as Angle slowly calms himself down. "Sorry," Angle says before clearing his throat. "Anyway, God, I'd like to thank you for giving us this opportunity to correct your wrongdoings. Tonight, Benoit, Edge and Undertaker will be taught a lesson at the hands of myself, Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin: Your white and dark chocolate knights! Tonight, we ride once again as what we were destined to be: Champions! Amen!" He stands up with the two, saying that was a great bonding moment and tonight they will walk out with the gold back around their waists. He pats them on the back and walks away, Benjamin and Haas still looking absolutely appalled at the words that came from their leader.Back inside of the arena, Jazz and Theodore Long make their way down to the ring as the latter holds a microphone in his hand. He calls for the music to be cut and looks out to the audience. "You people have no idea," He says while shaking his head. "Jazz here, playa, she's going to crush the dreams of your great white hype, Trish Stratus! But what you will have an idea of is that familiar feeling. Because, you all cheer a team like the Boston Red Sox only to be let down every single year and, playa, that's going to happen again tonight!" He says that Jazz is going to break Stratus in half and re-gain the Women's Championship — taking back from the 'wo-man' that's trying to hold her back. Before he can say anything more, Trish Stratus' music hits as she has heard enough and is ready to get going. Stratus and Jazz shove each other back and forth as the referee is trying to get things underway but Long steps in between the two women, thus Stratus shoves him down! Jazz responds with a big strike to the face and the official calls for the bell while Long rolls to the outside. After some back and forth between the two, Jazz delivers a hard boot to the mid-section and throws Stratus down by her hair, proceeding to use strength holds to take control of the match, having some covers in the midst. After Stratus breaks out of an abdominal stretch to flip Jazz over her, she hits a couple of arm drags and dropkicks and even the Stratusphere before heading to the second rope — diving off for a crossbody only to be caught in mid-air. Jazz shakes her head and drops Trish across the knee, proceeding to stretch the body off of it. Stratus tries to reach out to the ropes and Jazz responds by digging her nails in to Stratus' eyes! She lets the champion drop to the mat and lets her go under the bottom rope. The referee looks to keep Jazz from going to the outside, Long getting in the face of Stratus and berating her before taking a slap across the face! Jazz then comes from behind and hoists Trish off the floor before slamming her face first across the announce table. She tosses Trish back in to the ring and after another a hard DDT, she covers but Stratus puts her foot on the bottom rope. Frustrated, Jazz chokes Stratus and the referee reaches a four count, leading to her applying a camel clutch. While the champion is struggling in the hold, Jazz digs in to the face and pulls at the hair while maintaining the clutch. The crowd begins to try and will Trish on and she slowly works her way back up, hooking the legs of Jazz and dropping backwards to slam them both down in to the mat. Both women get to their feet and Stratus hits a few more arm drags before a big DDT. She staggers back up and moves in to the corner, waiting for Jazz to return to her feet before hitting a big running dropkick that slams Jazz back first in to the corner. Trish then makes her way up the rope and hits the crossbody she was looking for earlier before popping back up and pointing out to the crowd. She then takes Jazz by the head and looks to go for Stratusfaction but Jazz manages to overpower the champion and turn it in to position for the Bitch Clamp! "Look out, J.R., Jazz is about to become a three time Women's Champion!" Lawler says. Stratus, however, manages to reverse with a victory roll for a close near fall. The two get back up and Trish ducks under a clothesline before turning and nailing a Chick Kick! Jazz slowly falls backwards and down to the mat, Stratus covering and hooking both legs up for the pinfall victory!Trish Stratus def. Jazz via pinfall to retain the Women's Championship! The fans cheer for Stratus as she gets back up holding her lower back, the referee retrieving and presenting Trish with her Women's Championship belt. As Jazz rolls to the outside at an upset Long's feet, Stratus ascends to the second rope and holds the title above her head in celebration. Transitioning backstage, Smackdown General Manager Stephanie McMahon is seen walking in the back when she bumps in to Triple H. The two have an awkward bit of silence before McMahon wishes him luck tonight, to which 'The Game' says he isn't worried at all. "I'm going to prove tonight that what I've been saying about Brock Lesnar all along is true: He's a flash in the pan. He's not the future. He doesn't belong in the same ring as me." McMahon crosses her arms and says that as General Manager of Smackdown, she saw Lesnar rise and saw how much of an uncaged animal he is and just wants to warn HHH that what happened at WrestleMania could very well happen again. "Don't worry about it," Hunter says. "I am 'The Game', I am the best in this business and I am going to become World Heavyweight Champion once again. So, take your good luck and shove it because there's nothing to worry about... I'm bringing the gold back home, sweetie." He gives her a wink and walks away.
Heading to another part of the back, Josh Mathews is standing by and introduces his guest at this time to be The Rock. 'The Great One' steps up and Mathews goes to ask him a question but Rock stops him almost immediately. "Where's Coach?" He asks, to which Mathews points out that he works for Smackdown and this is a Smackdown match, so that's why he's here. "Well, listen here, frosted tips. If Coach ain't here for Rock to make fun of then what's the point? What's the point? Get! Get out of here!" He shoves Mathews aside and says tonight is an important night — not for himself, but for Bill Goldberg. "See, The Rock has done just about everything that there is to do in this business and beaten every candy ass he has had to beat! The Rock doesn't have to face Bill Goldberg, The Rock doesn't have to beat Bill Goldberg but The Rock is going to do it anyway." He says that on Goldberg's side of the coin, however, it's everything. "This is Goldberg's very first match in the WWE and he is going one-on-one with 'The Great One'... Goldberg's entire reputation rides on this match! This is his first impression! Every one has heard about big, bad Goldberg but what if he doesn't live up to the hype? When The Rock's done whooping that candy ass the question for Bill won't be 'who's next?' it will be 'what's next?' and The Rock is going to tell you exactly what the answer is to that question: Goldberg is going to pack his bags, go back home in Atlanta, collect his Time Warner royalties, call it a career and never step foot in The Rock's ring again!" Boos can be heard from inside of the building as Rock gives a cheeky grin. "If ya smell... what The Rock... is... cooking..." He tosses the microphone aside and walks away.
A video package follows, mirroring the rises in the careers of The Rock and Goldberg in WWE and WCW respectively in their own different ways but each reaching the top of the business. The arrival of Goldberg to WWE the Smackdown following WrestleMania this year is then reached, confronting The Rock and saying that he was next before hitting him with a Spear. In the weeks that would follow, Goldberg would continue a hunt of Rock while stating his lack of respect for Rock after hearing about how great he was only to turn out to be nothing special. During the contract signing between the two, Rock would set Goldberg up by using A-Train to attack but that would backfire. Rock would get the last laugh, however, the video package coming to an end with voice overs of The Rock promising to embarrass Goldberg with the newest Smackdown signee vowing that Rock was next.
The crowd continues to echo the chant of Goldberg's name as the bell is called for, the two men staring across at one another. Goldberg takes a few steps forward and Rock quickly ducks between the top and middle rope, the referee trying to talk Rock back in. He slowly obliges and takes a few steps toward Goldberg only to back down once again, causing the audience to boo. Rock responds by jawing at some of the fans before circling around the ring and meeting with Goldberg in the middle, the two locking up with Goldberg quick to shove Rock backwards and seated in to the corner. Rock's eyes are widened and he gets back up, having some words for Goldberg but instead of going toward him stepping through the ropes and to the outside! The boos come down even harder and Rock doesn't seem to care, continuing to mouth off to the crowd. Goldberg steps to the outside and walks up behind Rock, taking him by the neck and tights and hurling him neck and back first in to the barricade! He tosses Rock back in to the ring and follows but Rock is back up to stomps on the back. Rock meets Goldberg with punches as he gets to his feet and knocks him in to the corner, getting a bit cocky by looking to the hand and going for one big punch but instead taking a boot right to the chest! Rock stumbles back all the way to the other side of the ring and Goldberg runs at him, Rock managing to side-step and catch him with the Rock Bottom on the turnaround! "Rock Bottom! Rock Bottom!" Shouts Cole. "A Rock Bottom this early on?!" Rock pops back up with a smile and looks around the building, taunting to the Worcester crowd. As he is walking around, Goldberg stands up right behind him. Rock turns around and stumbles in his spot before stepping forward right in to a huge clothesline! Goldberg follows that up with a running powerslam before getting up in the corner, preparing for the Spear! Rock staggers back to his feet and turns right in to the Spear! Goldberg hooks both legs but just as the referee is about to count the three, Rock gets his hand on the bottom rope. Rock slowly rolls out of the ring and falls to the floor afterward, Goldberg getting back up with his hands on his hips. He paces around a bit before deciding to follow after Rock, whom is over by the announce tables. As Goldberg grabs him from behind he takes a shot to the stomach. "Rock has the ring bell!" Says Cole. "Rock just hit Goldberg with that damn ring bell!" Rock manages to hide it and toss it off to the side, following Goldberg as he falls back a bit before kicking him in the stomach and nailing a DDT on to the floor. Rock pulls himself back up via the ring apron and takes Goldberg up, tossing him in to the ring and following. Rock throws a couple of kicks to the side and pushes Goldberg to the center of the ring, standing over him with a grin. Rock then slowly removes his elbow pad and looks down at it, wiping away his sweat from his brow and arms before rubbing it in the face of Goldberg! He tosses the pad out of the ring and waves his hands, bouncing off one side of the ropes before coming back, galloping over Goldberg and turning right back in to a Spear! The building erupts as Goldberg lets out a roar, running his thumb across his throat as he drags a struggling Rock back up, hooks hold of his head and plants him with the Jackhammer for the one, two, three!Goldberg def. The Rock via pinfall! The fans cheer as Goldberg rises back to his feet, standing tall over Rock as his arm is raised by the official as the winner. "That's Goldberg," Says Tazz. "One of the baddest men to ever step foot in a ring and the entire locker room has been put on notice!" Goldberg climbs to the second rope and raises his fists in the air before leaving the ring. As he makes his way to the back, The Rock is left sprawled out. Once Goldberg is in the back, Rock slowly rolls on to his side and looks out to the crowd. The referee checks on him and Rock pushes him back, getting to his feet on his own and assuring him he's fine. He stands in the center of the ring with his hands on his knees, looking up to the crowd beginning to cheer him. He smiles and waves to them before brushing them off, the cheers turning to boos as he steps out of the ring and refuses to slap hands of the fans reaching out, mouthing on his way through the curtains. An advertisement for Judgment Day airs, the next WWE pay-per-view event taking place on May 18th in Charlotte, North Carolina. Back live at ringside, Michael Cole and Tazz talk about what just transpired between Goldberg and The Rock with Cole saying he doesn't think he's ever seen The Rock go down in defeat that quickly ever before. The two then move on to the next match coming up as it is Winner Take All! The WWE Championship and the WWE Tag Team Championship will be on the line. They then show highlights over the past month of what led up to this match as Chris Benoit and Edge would come to the aid of The Undertaker to go up against Kurt Angle, Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin after having taken the gold from the trio back at WrestleMania. The chaos from the past few weeks led to General Manager Stephanie McMahon deciding to put all six men in the ring at once: Winner Take All.Team Angle huddles up in the corner as the match gets started, Benjamin being chosen to start things off with Benoit. The two lock up with each other and go in to some quick chain wrestling with Benjamin getting control of things and growing cocky. He slaps Benoit on the head as he gets back up and smiles with Haas and Angle, only for his face to turn to shock when Benoit hooks his waist from behind and nails a big German suplex. Two more follow that and Benoit goes for the cover but Haas jumps in to break up the pin at a count of two. "Benoit looking for the quick victory," Cole says. "As there is a ton on the line here in Winner Take All!" Benoit follows up by some mat domination of his own, Benjamin keeping himself in it while showing off his amateur background. He grabs on to the ropes on a headlock and brings himself up to a knee, the referee getting to a four count with Benoit pulling back with his hands up before clubbing the back of Benjamin repeatedly. He drags him in to the corner and makes a tag to Edge, whom comes in and gets some hard chops and kicks in. Benjamin tries to fight back but ends up falling to the Edgecution for a near fall. Edge then points to Undertaker, getting the Worcester crowd going before tagging in the WWE Champion. He pulls Benjamin to his feet and measures him up before unloading with a big punch to the face. The strikes continue with Taker getting hit with a slap across the face, Benjamin ducking a clothesline off of it and hitting a big dropkick. He flies off the ropes but returns to a big boot, an angered Taker then positioning for a Last Ride Powerbomb! He lifts Benjamin up but Angle comes in to the ring and chops out the back of the leg! Both men are down off of it and they each begin to make a crawl to their corner, Edge and Haas being tagged in respectively with the prior coming in red hot by taking Haas down with clotheslines and a big back body drop. He wipes Angle and Benjamin off the apron and hits Haas with a second rope clothesline, backing in to the corner afterward and in position for the Spear only to be grabbed by his hair and thrown down to the mat by Angle! Haas steps up as Benoit and Taker are stopped from getting in the ring by the official, an assault on Edge in the corner as the referee is trying to handle that. He throws Edge to the outside, allowing Angle and Benjamin to pounce. They toss Edge in to the steel steps shoulder first, Taker and Benoit coming around the ring but the official getting in between the two sides to try and stop it. As they are backing down, Haas picks Edge up and drops him with a broken arrow suplex on to the bottom part of the steel steps! "Oh man, Cole," Tazz mutters. "That... that was just brutal!" Haas proceeds to pull Edge's limp body up by his hair and pushes him back in to the ring, making the cover only for Taker to come in and break it up. Angle and Benjamin lean between the ropes as Taker points and warns them.
Haas gets back up and drags Edge by the hair again, tagging in Angle. He comes in and works over Edge on the mat, the trio making frequent tags in and out and refusing to let up as they cut Edge off from making a tag. After wearing Edge down a ton, Angle has some words for Benoit and Taker before he picks the leg of Edge and puts him in the Ankle Lock! The crowd tries to will Edge on as he struggles in the hold, trying to find his way to the ropes. As Angle appears to be growing more and more confident, he loses a bit of focus as Edge manages to roll through and send Angle crashing in to the turnbuckles! The Olympic gold medalist comes right back and in to the Edgecution DDT! Both men are down off of it with Edge slowly turning on to his side and looking to move over to his corner with Angle getting back up and trying to race over for the Ankle Lock again but Edge has made the tag to Taker! The crowd erupts as the WWE Champion steps over the ropes only for Benoit to tag himself in! "What the hell?" Asks Cole. "Benoit just tagged himself in?" He gets in Taker's face in the ring, trying to tell him that Angle is his! As the two are arguing, it allows Angle to come up from behind and shove Benoit in to Taker — knocking 'The Dead Man' to the outside. Angle proceeds to roll Benoit up for a close two count but 'The Rabid Wolverine' kicks out just in time. Angle tries to go for the Ankle Lock but Benoit trips him down to the mat and applies the Crippler Crossface! He pulls back on it and Angle struggles briefly before Haas comes in and breaks it up. He has some strikes for Benoit but is pulled down in to a cross armbreaker! Benjamin enters the ring off of that and breaks it up himself, leading to Taker coming in and dropping him with a punch. Edge soon joins the fray as total chaos breaks out! All six men are in the ring and going at it and it even spills to the outside with tosses in to the barricade, announce table, ring apron and more. Angle and Edge go back in to the ring and go at it, Kurt with a low blow from the corner as the official is on the outside trying to regain control. Benoit then slides in with the referee's attention diverted with a steel chair in hand! "Benoit's got a chair! Benoit's got a chair!" Cole exclaims. He then goes to swing it at Angle but it is avoided and Edge takes a shot right to the head! Benoit drops the chair and puts his hands over his head, Angle trying to come at him only for Taker to run in and catch him with a big boot. Taker takes Benoit by the shoulder and spins him around — pointing in his face. The two have some words with Taker backing Benoit up a bit and trying to get his point across. He then turns around as Haas is coming in and catches him by the throat before nailing a Chokeslam! Benjamin tries to run in but eats a boot to the stomach and the Last Ride Powerbomb! Taker has some words for the two as they roll to the outside, Angle then shoving Benoit in to Taker once more and again sending Taker through the ropes! Kurt then nails the Angle Slam and hooks both legs of Benoit for the pinfall! Kurt Angle, Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin def. The Undertaker, Chris Benoit and Edge via pinfall to become the new WWE Champion and WWE Tag Team Champions! Angle's eyes light up as he gets to his knees, fists raised in the air in celebration as he and his team are announced the winners and having regained their championship belts. As he is presented with the WWE Championship, Undertaker looks on from the outside in disbelief. Angle then rolls to the outside to be with a staggering Benjamin and Haas, the official coming over to present them with the WWE Tag Team Championship. The three back up the ramp together and hold each other by the wrist — raising their arms and title belts over their heads joyfully. Back in the ring, Taker steps through the ropes and paces a bit as Benoit and Edge are trying to get themselves together. Obviously not happy with losing, Taker keeps himself calm as Edge is apologetic toward him. The two then look to Benoit standing off to the side with his hands on his hips and looking down at the mat beneath him. Edge tries to go over but Benoit pulls himself away and leaves the ring, marching up the ramp on his own instead. After a WWE Shopzone advertisement, we come back to Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler as we are moment away from the main event, a WrestleMania rematch for the World Heavyweight Championship. A promo video follows behind the official Backlash theme song "Remedy" by Cold, highlighting Brock Lesnar's rise to the top in the WWE over the past year, leading up to him winning the Royal Rumble match and jumping over to Monday Night Raw to compete for the World Heavyweight Championship. In the midst of Triple H's emerging Evolution faction, Lesnar would prove to be a worthy adversary against the group and capture the title at WrestleMania despite Evolution's involvement. With Triple H calling Lesnar a flash in the pan and unworthy of being World Heavyweight Champion, the rivalry would grow violent and personal en route to a rematch for the belt at Backlash with 'The Game' promising to take back his title while Lesnar looks to continue to prove that his actions speak louder than words and that the days of Triple H's stranglehold on Monday Night Raw are over with him on board. The referee calls for the bell and the two men slowly step up to the center of the ring, getting face-to-face and staring one another down. HHH quickly ends up going for a headlock but is shoved off, prompting the challenger to continue trying to get a grasp and slow Lesnar down only to end up being pushed away and tossed around, prompting 'The Game' to roll to the outside. Lesnar walks around the ring as Ric Flair is in the ear of HHH, giving him some advice. He slowly gets back on to the apron as Lesnar is waiting for him, HHH stepping through the ropes but keeping his distance. Lesnar begins to corner 'The Game' when Flair gets on to the apron and begins to yell across the ring, dancing a bit and distracting the official. Batista comes in to the ring during this and decks Lesnar from behind, allowing HHH to drop a knee across the back of Lesnar's head and begins to work away at him on the mat. Switching between holds, a sleeper hold is applied with Lesnar working his way back to his feet and flipping HHH over his shoulder and in to the mat. HHH gets back up and eats a clothesline over the top rope and to the floor below. Lesnar follows out after him but instead of attacking the the Evolution leader, he instead goes after Batista and lays him out with a clothesline as well! Lesnar then makes his way toward Flair but HHH comes from behind and clubs him in the back of the head, tossing the World Heavyweight Champion in to the barricade and steel steps before tossing him back in to the ring for a cover and a two count. HHH questions the official briefly before moving on and pulling Lesnar up in to the abdominal stretch, pulling away at him and then reaching behind him to grab Flair's hand for support behind the referee's back. Lesnar strains in the hold and finally ends up using all of his strength to pull HHH's arm down, yanking so hard that Flair ends up flipping over the ropes and in to the ring! The official turns to see 'The Nature Boy' sitting in the ring. After looking back and forth between him and HHH, he proceeds to ejects Flair! The crowd cheers over the decision as Flair is absolutely livid, HHH as well. Flair gives the referee a hell of a time by getting in to his face about leaving before stepping to the outside and then getting back on to the apron. The official follows him through the ropes and leads him down the steel steps while continuing orders to leave. Back in the ring, Lesnar plows through HHH with a series of clotheslines and a couple of big suplexes before Batista slides in to the ring and drops 'The Next Big Thing' with a powerful spinebuster! "One member of Evolution may be ejected but the presence of this animal Batista is still here!" Says a disapproving J.R. Hunter makes his way back over to Brock after Flair has left and hooks the inside leg, the official coming back down to the ring and making a two count. HHH gets back on his knees and pummels Lesnar with a series of punches before getting back up, bouncing back in to the ropes and returning with a big knee drop to the face. HHH gets a bit dirty from there as he begins to choke Lesnar on the mat before getting him up in the corner and attacking to the referee's count of four. The official steps in and backs HHH up, the two having an argument over the counting which allows Orton to hop on to the apron and begin to choke Lesnar with the ring rope! After Orton steps back down, HHH steps forward and delivers a neckbreaker.
After another two count on a cover, HHH goes for the legs and applies the Indian Deathlock. Lesnar's shoulders drop to the mat a few times while in the hold so he is forced to kick out. As he tries to make his way out of the hold, HHH ends up turning it over. The referee is in the face of Lesnar questioning if he is going to tap out. While Lesnar is fighting to stay in it, Batista reaches in to the ring and takes HHH's hand in the same fashion Flair did earlier, Batista pushing his foot in to the ring apron to help add even more strength to the hold. When Lesnar continues to refuse to tap out, HHH decides to let go of the hold, stand back up and drop an elbow on the back of Brock's head. HHH then stands over Lesnar and points to him, telling him to stay down. "What's wrong with you, huh? You big, dumb son of a bitch?! Stay down! Stay the hell down! Give me back my championship!" HHH then looks around before backing to the corner and pulling himself on to the second rope. He then leaps off for a double axe handle but Lesnar catches him in mid-air before charging in to the corner and slamming HHH in to the turnbuckles spine first! Lesnar continues with shoulder thrusts to the mid-section. A big suplex across the ring follows as Lesnar is fired up getting back to his feet, charging at HHH with a strong clothesline. He then ducks under a punch and follows up with a big powerslam. HHH then staggers back up and is hooked a hold of with Lesnar proceeding to dump him over the ropes with a belly-to-belly suplex. Lesnar follows out and steps over to the Spanish announce table and begins to clear it off! He drags HHH on to the table with him, Orton getting on to the apron and arguing with the referee about what is going on. As the official is dealing with him, HHH hits Lesnar with a low blow! Hunter stands back up and then drops Lesnar through the table with a Pedigree! "That's it, J.R.! That's it!" Says Lawler. "That's gonna be the end of Lesnar! Triple H is on the verge of becoming World Heavyweight Champion again!" After the two are laying there for a while, Batista comes over and assists HHH back in to the ring. The referee questions what he is doing as he then goes over to a busted open Lesnar, dragging him back up and pushing him in to the ring as well. The official has had enough of this and decides to eject Batista from ringside! "Justice is served, ladies and gentlemen!" J.R. shouts. Batista is visibly upset and kicks the nearby steps before stomping away, having some words for the official on the way out. As he is leaving, HHH hooks the leg of Lesnar but the referee's hand is just about to hit the mat when Lesnar kicks out! HHH can't believe it as he gets to his knees, grabbing the official's shirt and questioning the count. He demands that he be named the winner but, of course, doesn't get that result. He turns back to Lesnar getting on all fours and pulls him in position for another Pedigree but Brock hoists him up off of the mat and drops him with the F-5! A groggy Lesnar crawls over and hooks the far leg, just about to get the three count when Orton pulls the referee out of the ring and drops him to the floor! Lesnar's eyes widen from his blood covered face from in the ring as he looks toward Orton. He slides under the bottom rope as Orton has his hands up — beginning a chase around the ring! Orton rolls back in to the ring and Lesnar follows, Randy going for the jumping cutter only to be shoved away and caught with a clothesline on the return. Lesnar takes him by the neck after and sends him flying over the ropes and back to the outside. Lesnar turns back around and walks straight in to a kick to the gut and another Pedigree! HHH makes the cover and counts with his hand in the air but the referee is still down on the outside. After having realized this, HHH is enraged so he mounts over Lesnar and drives fists in to the open wound. He stands back up and goes to the outside to pull the official up and toss him back in to the ring, going back in but walking right in to another F-5 from the champion! The cover is made and the referee is slowly making the count when Orton desperately puts HHH's foot on the bottom rope and points it out! The roars of the crowd turn to boos as Lesnar rolls on to his side and uses the ropes to pull himself back up, wobbling in to the corner. With the referee still in a daze, he steps back over him and goes to drag HHH back up only to suddenly eat a sledgehammer to the stomach! "I think Randy Orton just gave Triple H that sledgehammer!" Shouts J.R. "That damn Randy Orton just gave Triple H that damn sledgehammer!" HHH then turns around and runs right at Lesnar with a strike to the face! He drops to a knee and slides the hammer back out of the ring, pulling Lesnar back up and planting him with yet another Pedigree in the middle of the ring. He rolls him over and hooks the leg, the referee making the slow crawl over and counting the one, two, three.Triple H def. Brock Lesnar via pinfall to become the NEW World Heavyweight Champion! The fans show their disapproval as they shower Triple H with boos while he rolls off of Lesnar, Orton hopping in to the ring and coming to the side of his Evolution leader. Batista and Flair make their way back down to the ring applauding as HHH is assisted to his feet and presented with the World Heavyweight Championship. The commentary team highlights replays from the match, showing the involvement from Evolution and Lesnar's near victory before the finish. Back live, Evolution is making their way up the ramp as Lesnar pulls himself up to a knee via the ropes as blood streams down his enraged face.
