Has anyone ever made a list showing the photos that are believed to have inspired Hasbro or LJN WWF figures?
I'd love to see this if it's out there or in this thread if anyone can share.
Examples why does Piper have red elbow pads in the hasbro figure, warrior 1, 2, 3 hasbro.

Are you referring to prototype drawings?
Or do you mean pics of the wrestler in the gear they're featured with in the figures?
Or soemthing totally different

Someone on another board posting a picture of Roddy Piper in 1989 and he was wearing red shorts, red elbow and knee pads and he thought that was reference for the Hasbro figure. Considering the kilt is molded on, we'll never know but I think the 1991 Hasbro figures are inspired by the late 1989 time period, so it's very possible.

I always wondered about the red elbow pads on the piper too and the black boots on hacksaw jim duggan when they should be blue.

The Piper LJN was inspired by a couple of matches where he worn red trunks and knee pads. As far as the Ultimate Warrior the third Warrior Hasbro release I think was based on a photoshoot. The photo is somewhere online.

Hasbro Piper is based on Piper during his feud with Rude in 1989.

There's a guy or two who have been collecting these photo slides over the years, and have posted some here. I remember seeing some Hasbro slides posted in relatively recent history.

For Warrior 1, there was a picture out there with him in that attire wearing an IC title though the knee pads are different. Same with Warrior 2, it appears to be his attire from Survivor Series 1989 but like the first figure the knee pads are different. Warrior did wear purple tights at the beginning of 1991, none look exactly like the third figure, it could be a combination of each image to make the figure. As for Hacksaw's boots, you're right, they should have been blue like his tights. However, during 1988, he did wear a darker version of blue (wrestlemania 4), the boots are also a pretty dark blue so maybe they thought they were actually black. For piper, as posted by Ruby Fusion, he did wear red elbow pads during his feud with Rude in late 1989, I believe he even wore red trunks once as well. It would be cool to see all of the reference photos that Hasbro used but not sure if that will happen.
