Kofi does not feel like the WWE Champion. Does anyone else feel that way? He hasn't been acting like it and I just can't buy into it.

Goofy gimmick perhaps? I'm honestly surprised they've gotten this much mileage out of new day. For me Big E is the real star from the trio.

Probably because he’s constantly being put in title defences and booked as an underdog as opposed to flipping the bird, drinking beer and beating up the boss every week. I think loads of people were lowkey hoping he’d be the no nonsense Kofi from the feud with Orton in late 2009 once he won the belt but I’m cool with the way he is.

Then I guess you didn't buy Bret Hart as WWE Champion, or Bryan, or Shawn Michaels. If they broke him away from the New Day stuff, it would help.

I would say Jinder was more flavor of the month, Kofi has been waiting years to be World Champion.

Im glad Kofi got the opportunity to be champ but i agree to an extent. I think he should have tweaked his new day persona a little bit being a little less comedic.
They should drop the "i wasnt suppose to be champ but here i am " thing and just let him be the champ. it makes a lot of people look at him as a transitional champion...which is most likely what they have always planned for his run anyway. i doubt they have long term plans for kofi as champ beyond summer slam and probably not a multiple time champ

I think it’s because since winning the title he’s either been propped up to other guys currently in the midcard or hasn’t been the focus of the show. This new Wild Card crap allows for guys like Rollins and Styles to show up and overshadow Kofi. Then Reigns is on the show too and getting a lot of attention. For a bit I was actually wondering if Kofi vs Owens was even still happening. The whole thing feels like an afterthought.

I said from the begining that Kofi's journey was to the title, and not with the title. This is similar to Ziggler holding MITB in a lot of ways. There was probably quite a bit of backstage should they or shouldn't they, and they decided to pull the trigger. That being said, Kofi has a station on the roster that Vince McMahon envisions and I don't think this wave of momentum changed that perception.
I'm not saying Kofi is necessarily to blame, but I agree there hasn't been any kind of shift in his personality since winning, either. He has a very "just happy to be here" mentality. I did like his Smackdown promo where he essentially told AJ to go eat one, but he still feels like the guy from New Day and I don't think he can have his pancakes and eat them too.
Kofi is a really talented guy and I think he got an amazing moment. I think he's wearing a belt that Vince is dying to put back on Roman, though.

Because people dont want to accept him.
Whether it's because new day, or bad booking before, race, size, whatever.
It's their loss. Kofi the last 3 months has been better than Bray wyatt's whole life. But people tried so hard to let him be a thing.

Because it was more exciting to see Kofi chase the WWE Title than to hold it.

we need to see some character direction. I’d grab a monster heel and retell Vader vs Michaels. then I’d have Bray Wyatt be the next challenger in a mind games like PPV main event.
I see a lot of the Shawn Michaels boyhood dream in Kofi, so they should flesh him out in that direction. because right now he’s the same Kofi as ever, just happy because he has the belt.

I think it says more about us than him.
We're so used to the way he was booked for ten years that this really feels like it came from no where and it hasn't sunk in. I can't detach him from the image of him we've been presented since 2008.

He needs to stop bringing pancakes to the ring. He is seen as a comedy act now more so than a threat. It's okay to give up a bit of that cheese factor that New Day is and be your own self, Kofi.

because he hasnt really DONE anything yet. he's spent a month talking about how great his wrestlemania moment was, and how never giving up on his dreams and winning the WWE title has been a dream and you should always follow your dreams. and then Owens turned heel on him 2 weeks in to the storyline so we could have his first throwaway title defense at a PPV.
the ONLY thing he's done is have some entertaining matches. which is ok, but this company just doesnt know how to tell a compelling storyline that doesnt involve something something "underdog"

Problem is WWE can make great booking out of guys chasing after a title (i.e. Daniel Bryan, Gargano, Kingston, etc..) but they have absolutely no idea what to do with the guy once they have the title.

Because people like moments.
They wanted the moment of Kofi winning the title.
They could care less about him being the actual champion.
