Only Ultimate Warrior was impossible to find. If it wasnt for that figure, I dont think the CS line wouldve taken off though if you looked at the other rubbish in the wave (TTL Undertaker, Andre the Giant with Big Shows body, New Generation Hunter Hearst Helmsley).

It’s not to “cause problems” at all. I’m just pointing out the irony that you feel you dictate what’s “fair” and “unfair” in this situation. So had there been 50 figures, 200 people in line and the rep said “Take as many as you want”, you’d take one? Of course not. Get real. You’d grab as many as you could to help out the members here. You think it’s unfair that there was only 50... because you got there late and didn’t get one. Was it done in an unorganized fashion? Absolutely. Even if the figures were sitting at the table, you still wouldn’t have gotten one. There was no limit on how many could be purchased (obviously) and people took advantage of that. Much like you planned on. Doesn’t matter how they were re-sold. You were planning on possibly selling them for $50, which I personally don’t think is “fair”... but that’s what an exclusive will do. Drive people to have to have it. Even if at $200+. Oh well. You probably made a good point but I got distracted by that awful Seth Rollins gif HA HA!

Classic Series 1 was pretty much the biggest thing EVER for wrestling figures. I don't think any other line up until that point had made figures of the older generations of wrestlers in the same scale as the current ones.

I drove up there from NYC. Got there right around 155. No figures and not that many people on line. You would think there would be ensuing since he was advertised for two whole hours but hey it’s Mattel and it’s Wal-Mart so I shouldn’t have expected much. I’m annoyed that I went up there for basically a nice drive but it is what it is. The event was planned like crap. The people at Walmart had no clue what was going on which also was not a surprise. It would have made more sense to have the figures at the table with him and one or two per person. Also would have made sense to have more than 50 figures for what even Mattel who is clueless as a toy company can be to accommodate at least an hours worth of people and a sought after figure. I wouldn’t have bought ten figures or some nonsense like that. I wanted one or two at most for the two attires but whatever I guess. This hobby is about the chase but after 30 years it’s getting old. It’s become frustrating and I’m frustrated enough at work. This should be fun and it isn’t anymore. I waited to read everyone’s posts before I commented because I didn’t want to come across overreacting but this was a clusterf@ck yesterday and it instead of promoting a legend and a great new figure along with the line you gave a license to these morons who were there to just scalp the figures. It’s a shame that the line has become this with the chase figures.

I don't think any other line up until that point had made figures of the older generations of wrestlers in the same scale as the current ones. There was one company who made any actual full continuing series of legends figures six years prior to the Classic line. Granted Jakks did a small legends set of four guys in good standing with WWF, in 1998, but those figures were gigantic compared to the Jakks at the time. The other company, which sadly can not be named because it's competition with Ringside, made six inch figures which were very detailed and much better than anything Jakks was putting out at the time. The classics were awesome to me but once Mattel came out with their legends, it showed the weakness of Jakks quality if it hadn't already been noticed. I think any one who bought Jakks Classic, after Mattel came out, should have been entitled for a return refund from their original store of purchase.

You are correct but they weren't making modern versions of wrestlers. This was the first time multiple generations were all going to use have the same exact scale.

If you were only in preschool back then you just don't realize how groundbreaking this was back then. We never thought we'd see guys like Bret Hart or Ultimate Warrior show up in WWE lines ever again. Sure, some of the part choices were questionable (it was Jakks after all) but you can't downplay the significance of how huge this line was at the time. When it was all said and done...they made an impressive amount of guys from all different generations and different federations.

It’s a shame that the line has become this with the chase figures. Exactly what I said! It’s crazy that we don’t work for either of these companies yet we’re smart enough to know how this should have been handled. Not complicated at all to say “Hey, we don’t live under a rock so we know a lot of people buy these things in large quantities to then make a huge profit. So let’s be smart and have them at the front so when it’s their turn in line they can grab one and choose to get it signed.” Boom! Right there, didn’t take too much time to think that through. But like you said, it happened and it is what it is. I pray that they learn from this, I really do. Hopefully the next event Mattel is involved in, they make sure their customers that attend get treated fairly.

Yeah it's easy to look back on things and say it's trash compared to what we have now but CS1 was YUGE and groundbreaking for wrestling figs. Undeniable.

Jeremy admitted he had to cut corners on some figures in CS1 in order to make better figures of Ultimate Warrior and Bret Hart.
