I actually don’t even like most of the guys running this gig but I enjoyed the PPV. It was very well done.
One thing I didn’t like was all the false endings. I don’t know why fans wants these 10+ finisher, kickout matches. It kinda defeats the purpose of an actual finisher!
The shots at WWE were a little childish though. Just because they didn’t see any potential in Cody doesn’t mean he needs to be petty. He isn’t interesting at all. He’s a good wrestler but damn is he lame.

The one thing they're up against is coming up with original ideas... SOOOOOOOOOOOOO many storylines and things have been done already in the wrestling world.
I wish them the best of luck and will follow, great event.

One fault I did personally find with the show was the amount of false finishes. Now granted I'm not overly familiar with any of the non-WWE guys on the card, so I'm still trying to work out what their finishers actually are, but it did seem like there were a lot of high impact moves in every match that looked like they should have been finishers. It's not a problem unique to AEW, it's a problem in NXT too. I just hope that it's not still a problem when they get going. I can understand why they did it, it's their first show so everyone is trying to show off as much as they can. I just hope the problem gets ironed out in the next few shows, and isn't still present when they get on TV. I just think that finisher kick-outs should be saved for the biggest matches of the year, not used for every single PPV match.

Double Or Nothing was a fantastic show. The Young Bucks vs. Lucha Bros was the MOTN. Cody vs. Dustin was much better then i expected, loved the Japanese women. Jericho vs. Omega II was good but not as good as their 1st.

i didnt mind the kickouts in cody/dustin, because that feud wrote itself, and they kept it fairly logical (i believe cody kicked out of a final cut and a crossrhodes, and dustin kicked out of a crossrhodes... so it wasnt total overkill). but the young bucks kick out of everything, in every match theyre in. even omega/jericho knew to scale it back on the kickouts... jericho hit his new finish and ended it, omega went for one winged angel a couple times but never connected. even though jericho was a little off his game in the match itself, they worked the match very logically and well. lucha bros vs the bucks was exciting as hell, entertaining as hell... but man, its sensory overload sometimes. scale it back a little bit, you dont need to drop a guy on his head 43 times in a match, and have him kick out 42 times.
i loved the show regardless. ill admit the main wwe shows arent really geared towards me any more, but i still watch because i love wrestling. good wrestling is good wrestling... i watch nxt, njpw, progress, i even try to pay attention to roh even though theyre in a low spot right now, and id watch impact if i had the pursuit channel or knew where to find it. any type of competition to get wwe out of their rut is a wonderful thing. i think last night was a nice first step.

Impact broadcasts on Twitch as well. I think it's every Friday night at 10PM EST. The Twitch channel also plays classic TNA matches from back in the day when Impact isn't on.

That was the most fun show I've watched in a long time. It really did feel like the beginning of something special, which Mox's appearance cemented.
I thought they did a great job of highlighting all the parts of the company that they are trying to push as an alternative. Obviously, there's still some things that need to be worked on and tightened up, mainly on the production side, but you're going to have those growing pains with any new company. I think J.R. and Excalibur meshed very well, and it was the most invigorated J.R. sounded in years after he got into a groove around the Cody/Dustin match.
The one thing that stood out to me was that WWE literally had that match and story sitting in their laps for years, and did nothing with it other than a meh throwaway five minute PPV match, and AEW basically built it with a couple Youtube promos. And that was all you needed; they delivered the rest in the ring. The blood added a ton to it. It just gave it that extra spark that makes a match feel special.

Ok, this seems like a good place to vent
There only seems to be 3 big matches on this card, the young bucks tag match, omega and Jericho and Cody and Dustin
The rest of the card I guess we can place in mid card, and to be honest was exactly that, there was some trash but some decent stuff as well, nothing really to write home about, although the tag match with the best friends was enjoyable
Jericho is hard to watch, his body creeps me out, so out of shape and old, he shouldn’t be wrestling and for sure shouldn’t be main eventing, AEW is fresh new faces, young talent, but a 50 year old man main events, makes sense right? No
Omega had a tough task trying to pull a good match out of Jericho, the match was ok at best (3 1/4) I’ve seen people rate this match 4 stars, not even close, maybe omega can make Moxley look good whenever they fight, but for this match, mission not accomplished, sorry Kenny
Young bucks don’t really look young anymore, this was better than omega and Jericho, but still not what everyone says it was, 4 stars is what people have been rating this match, I cringe when I say 3 1/2 at best, it was a classic leg slap fest, full of high impact moves that have little to no affect on the opponent, and oh ya lots of leg slapping, I’m not into super human wrestling matches, no story telling in this match other than the arm injury at the last minute of the match, all good talent in the ring, just didn’t care for the way they went about the match
Cody, when he was in wwe I had such high hopes for him and ted, they were both in great shape, legends for fathers, hoping that the minds of their fathers would transfer over to them, well ted was a disappointment to say the least, and Cody was the same maybe even a bigger let down because most of us expected more from Cody than ted, this match with Cody and Dustin proved what I always knew, Dustin will always be better than Cody, even at 50 years old, Cody has no intensity, most of his punches and kicks didn’t even connect which I understand it happens, but it happened so often in this match that it was annoying me, it was nice to see a blood fest in a match, great emotion, story telling which I liked, but Cody is Cody and there is only so much you can do with him, thumbs up to Dustin for working his ass off, this match would have been nothing without him 3 1/2
All and all didn’t like this show as you can tell lol if they keep pulling this off I’m not sure how long they will last, that’s my opinion if any cares 😬

Moxley is the tideturner. Jericho is a big name, the Elite are big to smarks, but Moxley is one of the biggest WWE guys of the last 10 years, he is the relevant star power AEW desperatly needs. If they are banking on a name like Mox.. they are in trouble haha . He's not that good or a big enough name to matter. I'll come back to this comment in 2 years time when he is held in regard as the best all around wrestler on the planet.

AEW did a great job last night, I managed to see some highlights off it and enjoyed it. WWE needs to start stepping up their game, they have the wrestlers to do it but it's really all up to Vince.

Cody vs Dustin was great. But overall, it's pretty much just 2005 TNA. You've sold it to me.
