I would love a real 93-94 era Bret. Bret 1 is one of my favorite Hasbros, but I’ve always felt the Bret 2 repaint really didn’t capture his babyface champion run well. Honestly, I would love to see him with a molded on jacket like Macho Man 4. (Neon cowboy is 4 right?)

Honestly, I would love to see him with a molded on jacket like Macho Man 4. (Neon cowboy is 4 right?) That would be cool! And yes Macho 4 was the one in the suit. I heard a few times Hasbro was planning a Bret with jacket molded. I know it's not from his world title run, but my favorite was always the one that was primaraly pink and looked like shiney leather material (he wore it at Survivor Series 91). Or the black one with silver piping and shoulder tassles from WM9 would be sweet too. Just would prefer it not be from later on when they were more plain like once he turned heel and just wore the biker style ones. Or maybe they could make Hart Foundation with molded jackets they wore during their 2nd title run? But, knowing how Mattel doesn't want to make new molds for this line, I really can't see them doing molds that would be unique to one guy. But maybe they could at least reuse a jacket mold for surfer Sting and could probably do at least a couple color versions both of Sting and Bret. So maybe possible? Would be sweet. Speaking of unique molds, if this line continues I pretty much garantee we'll see another Undertaker sometime soon so they can at least get a 2nd use out of that one. So either grey gloves, or phantom mask version.

To bad Hasbro didn't release the Tatanka in white tights as the first Tatanka figure released (like the drawings showed) then release the blue tights Tatanka later in the line (like Series 9).

im very surprised to see 16 wrestlers on this poll that already has an original Hasbro figure or a Retro already. I know some listed are of the wrestlers alternate characters but i know personally id rather have a Haku Retro than another Million Dollar Man, Perfect, Bret and so on.

Not everyone collected the original Hasbro figures though (...I didn't - and a lot of people who are collecting these Retros probably didn't either). So I'd much rather see figures like Perfect and (especially) Bret in the line over guys like Haku, that are only really appealing to Hasbro collectors.

Before Retros I only collected Hasbro. While a retro diesel isn’t a Hasbro Diesel, it fills the need and is satisfying for me. You as someone who didn’t collect Hasbros, would adding a Bret Hasbro to your retro collection fill your need in the same way?

That's an interesting perspective; I hadn't really considered fans of the Retros without being fans of the Hasbros, but that's obviously encouraging for the line. Bret would be I'm sure a big seller in the line - whilst he isn't really needed (outside of a Hart Foundation version to match Anvil) because of his amazing Hasbros, I certainly would be very excited to see what Mattel would do with him. Mattel would have quite a few options to work-on if the line lasted long enough to do multiple Brets. If Mattel wanted to work through them chronologically like I suggested a page or two back with Eddie Guerrero, then I'd say they could do: 1. Hart Foundation (with matching Anvil) - probably best the outline heart outfit from SummerSlam '90; a blue version of the team could be cool but these have to be pink and black; 2. Early-90s WWF champion - I'd go for the all-pink WrestleMania IX look to contrast with the next few; 3. Mid-90s face - maybe not needed if it follows the above early-90s figure, but seeing the photo of the Survivor Series '96 attire in this thread reminds me just how awesome that looked; probably too detailed for a Retro though?; 4. Hart Foundation '97 - all-black attire, ideally with some attempt at the Hart Foundation jackets if Mattel can make that work with the articulation of the Retros. I've been reluctant to call for these figures since the set will never be complete without Owen, but I loved them so much that I'd take four out of the five if that's all we can get; 5. 2010 in-ring return - t-shirt and jorts; important part of his story I think, but NOT before at least a couple of the others above - ideally I'd like Mattel to work through them all in chronological order but that's obviously unlikely. I don't remember him looking that much different in WCW but some of you probably saw more of him there than I did. Maybe a silver nWo version? But if the line continues for a while yet then I think we'll get the tag team Hart Foundation, and maybe a WWF champion look; probably nothing more since there are so many others needing figures, and we're basically working with a ration of 8 a year given the other 8 have to be current guys.

Top is 90' Hart Foundation though. Never cared much for him once he turned heel though. His look always seemed dull from there on out and through WCW. Tights never really changed all that much, and he stopped wearing the colorful jackets. And don't get me started on Bret in t-shirts, jorts and hockey jerseys...yuck haha.

Honestly I did have you specifically in mind as I wrote the 2010 entry That one would be last on my list of choices, but as long as that isn’t his first/only Retro (like we’ve seen with HBK and Goldberg so far) then I’m fine with it - I’m very happy he got the 2010 return as it felt like closure, so I think it’s a valid option, albeit far down the list. I see what you’re saying about the early Attitude Era look with the Hart Foundation. I really did love it though, seeing Bret go all-black fit his persona so well after the American fans turned heel on him ( ). My custom Hasbro Bret I did all in black from that time so I guess I’m biased for that look from that time. So what sort time would be your cut-off with these? Just the Hasbro/orange card era, or up until the Attitude Era starts in 1997?

I was fully invested throughout that time, but to me it doesn't age well, and I really hold little nostalgia for much beyond early/mid 97 at least for WWF. WCW I still have fond memories for at least into first half of 99.

I want to see Retro Tag Teams more than anything else. They could do so many legends with that. Especially the Hart Foundation. I'd also like to see the Nasty Boys, Natural Disasters, Colossal Connection, Money Inc., Twin Towers, Mega Powers, Rhythm & Blues, and most of all i want to see Demolition. But like everyone else, I know that's not going to happen anytime soon. As for current Tag Teams, I honestly just don't care. I would only buy them because I collect all Retros. But otherwise I probably wouldn't touch any.

My ideal choice for Retros would be: Definitely start doing the Tag Teams. Possibilities are endless, and I honestly believe a lot of collectors would be extremely happy with some never-done-before legends such as Mega Powers and Colossal Connection. Natural Disasters is also a tag team I would love to see done again.
Next would be Ringside Collectibles Exclusive Retros. I have always loved most of what RSC has done with their exclusives. And lets face it, a lot of those have gained significant value over a short period of time. RSC seems to be one of the only places currently that you can get series 9 and (soon to be) 10 without paying absurd scalper prices. So why not make an exclusive?? Maybe a Hogan or Tag Team would fit. Whatever it is, I would but it in a snap.
I would LOVE to see some Chase Variants in the Retro Line. Mattel does it with Elites and Basics pretty much every series has one. So whats stopping them from making some for the retro line? As someone mentioned here already, a Kamala Retro would be cool, but have a Chase with a Moon Belly. How's that for nostalgia? I mean, that's what this line is all about, right? Nostalgia! Or maybe a Hogan with Red attire and a Chase with Yellow. The possibilities are endless.
10 Series in already, Im really starting to wonder why Mattel hasnt done any of this yet.

I doubt we’ll ever see two packs given the general vibe we’ve had from Mattel, which might actually be for the best given the cheapness of the packaging we’ve seen so far - an extra figure on those cards might be too much for them. I think it would have to be individual figures in the same series in order to get tag teams out, like Hasbro did towards the end. I expect we’ll get the Hart Foundation with matching Bret and Anvil on separate cards, labelled something like “Jim The Anvil Neidhart of The Hart Foundation” - that then differentiates them from any later singles releases. I could see them doing the Mega Powers like that - Hogan must be back on Mattel’s agenda by now, and him as one of the Mega Powers would fill a gap left by Hasbro. Macho could just be a repaint of the second figure, nice and cheap for Mattel yet we’d all buy it regardless because it’s the Mega Powers. Hogan’s potential chronological timeline of Retros could then go: 1. “American Made” - the Ringside exclusive in Retro form, the first Hogan in the Retro line will be a big seller so good chance to get this one out; 2. “Hulk Hogan of The Mega Powers” 3. WCW Hogan - not too sure if this one is needed, but he had noticeably changed physically by then, and the red and yellow art was different so with a different action to the Mega Powers Hogan then I’d say yes; 4. Hollywood Hogan - we all want this one; 5. Wolfpac Hollywood - maybe not needed after the previous figure, but still a good option; 6. Hulk Still Rules 7. “Host” Hulk Hogan - modern day Hogan for all the kids running Saudi shows in their FigFeds

Mattel, hire this man. I like the chase idea for the retros. A good way to get out multiple Hogans.

But im okay with that, too. I always did like the 2-packs, though. That said, RSC seems to enjoy making exclusives of 2-Packs: the LJN Young Bucks, Brood Hardy Boyz Elite, etc. So i could definitely see them doing that. A painted over version of the series 9 Macho is a great idea. Cheap, too, like you said. They did that with the Kevin Owens so I can see it happening. I do love that clothesline body mold, too.
