Ill be so pissed off if I don’t get one. Why have a pre order if I might not get it? Put them on sale after the Con then Exactly. There's gonna be a lot of pissed off people come next month, unfortunately. Can't imagine the feeling of going through this preorder only to be bumped by people walking through the convention.

I would fully be understanding if they didn’t take pre orders and sold out. It’s a con exclusive I get it. I’m not there I don’t deserve to get one. It happens. But to pre order it is something else

My thoughts exactly. I'd feel better if they sold, them at SDCC first, then sold whatever didn't move after. As it stands now, the preorder is essentially meaningless, especially when you factor in some people ordering up to 8 figures.

I've been waiting around to see what's shown at this years SDCC and reluctantly pre-ordered this from EE, just in case I still want to stay in the game. [Won't be paying scalper prices]
.. but I swear, if EE doesn't get enough to fulfill pre-orders ... especially if the ones that ordered the limit just to scalp get theirs before someone that just simply wanted 1 for their collection, then that'll most likely do it for me.
Don't have a pre-order if you can't fulfill them and/or taking a chance on not getting enough.
So sick of scalpers and exclusives ...

I guess the joke is on us to actually expect Mattel (or one of its retailers) to deliver on a product as advertised. It’s fast becoming a more usual then by exception. Gotta what and see I guess...

not surprised.. I didn't even bother. Getting old.. I feel like this is all we talk about now... cancellations, delays, distribution, etc. etc... And those Walmarts are becoming wastelands...yea yea , there resetting, they always do it....meanwhile ive had 2 walmarts not restock figures for over a month now. and the others are the same with about 2 figures left on the pegs with the current clearance. that's a pretty long reset...lol

Yeah I messed up & went on vacation..... totally forgot to pre-order. Looks like I'm either out of luck because I didn't pre-order...... or I would have been out of luck even if I DID pre-order?
I wonder if Mattel knows (or cares) how frustrated the core collectors/fans are becoming with this line? It shouldn't be THIS difficult to get our hands on the good figures.....

Someone is already selling these on eBay for 59.99, and he's sold 73 already, I thought there was a limit.

Probably had multiple accounts or is banking on sdcc I truly hope that this goes the way of the red rooster Or that I come across 100 of these things. I'll flood the market and eat a loss to sell these for $5 on the bay and watch those scalpers panic.

Just talked with a Customer Service rep at EE. Sobering news:
Bullet points because I don't want to post the chat transcript in case this comes back to bite me with reps from EE. Not saying they would screw with my order but you never know
* Asked if it's first come first serve: Yes. SDCC figs are always first come first serve. They never guarantee that just because you preorder a SDCC exclusive you will get it. It all depends on how much they get from the Mattel booth following SDCC.
* Asked a hypothetical: If I am next in line with an order of 2, but there's only one fig left, does that 1 fig go to me, or the next person who ordered just 1. It'll go to me. And I'll just have one item unfulfilled.
So,from this we can extrapolate a few things: 1) Those that ordered 8 earlier than any of us will most likely get their orders fulfilled. 2) With the demand being high, there will be one DB at SDCC trying to buy up as much as he/she can to sell on the bay. 3) They based their number of preorders based on an imaginary, pie in the sky, number.

I was doing this for nostalgia purposes only. Wanted to make a snide remark but I'm refraining.

I reached out to Steve Ozer and he states EE was allotted their own stock and what they receive will not be dependent on leftovers from SDCC.

Not saying he's wrong but this is what I got from EE's chat: Chat started on 26 Jun 2019 (02:14:11) *** (REDACTED) joined the chat *** (02:14:12) (REDACTED): Just a question about this order: (REDACTED) I hear rumors that your company is still filling this first come first serve with the inventory that remains from SDCC. Is this true? Is it possible I won't be getting my preorder fulfilled? (02:14:16) *** (REDACTED) joined the chat *** (02:15:17) (REDACTED): Our apologies for any confusion, however SDCC merchandise orders have always been filled based on whatever inventory is left over after the show. (02:15:28) (REDACTED): ok. just one quick follow up

EE will have a booth at SDCC and at that booth they will be selling exclusives like Pin Mates Batman & Robin and WW, Deadpool and Rick & Morty Jack in the boxes, Pinky & The Brain vinyl figure, etc. which they are also taking preorders on. These will be sold at the convention first and the leftovers to preorders. Macho is being sold at the Mattel booth. According to Steve from Mattel, what they’re selling at SDCC will not affect what happens to what they send to EE.

whats boggling to me , is they spent the money to grab that slim jim license only to use as an exclusive..lol. Why wouldn't they know the demand for this type of item for the base of buyers. I guess this means there is no other high priced figures coming except those UE. which begs the question why they didn't use it there also.. Does anyone here know how the exclusive deals work in terms of who gets it? is it a bidding thing? or is it more direct like no one else wanted to pay for it except EE?

We will not be shipping remaining units to EE to fulfill the pre-orders. Totally separate. I'm guessing there's just some confusion here based on how they typically sell their own SDCC exclusives after the con.
