Until, Chris Jericho turned heel attacking and beating down Styles. Jericho would be disgusted by Styles taking the spotlight from superstars that have been here for years, and taking that away. Jericho sought justice for the roster. While Styles sought answers, seeming to be attacked at all corners by new challenges. Styles shined at WrestleMania 32 defeating Jericho. Styles was drafted to Raw. Styles continued on to his next threat Adrian Neville. Neville would challenge Styles to Payback 2016. Styles seemed to agree. And Neville would come off respectful, until bashing Styles verbally and again seeing Styles as stealing spotlight. Styles and Neville faced off with Styles taking a victory.
Roman Reigns was looking for a new challenge for the WWE Championship. AJ Styles, Chris Jericho, Neville, Cesaro, Kevin Owens and Luke Harper all stood in the line for this. Both men through thick and thin made it to the end of the Rumble and Styles won. Styles closed the story with Joe at Fast Lane in a Last Man Standing match. Rollins feeling disrespected by Styles and disregarded would make the first strike of war by curb stop. They're past were built up and this huge match showed tensions and both men's abilities build to a huge match at WrestleMania 35.

But Team SmackDown won. Bryan once again beat The Miz because of AJ Styles. Styles wanted his hands on Bryan to set things straight. These two were set for Armageddon 2019. But The Miz was going to be the ref. A very interesting dynamic to say the least. Bryan would win with kick to the groin and series of kicks to the head finishing off Styles. Shocking the Miz.
