Yeah I'm not buying that excuse. RSC and Amazon are good enough places to release the set. Hell even WWE Shop would work. I could understand the Gorilla situation since that was a Walmart issue, but "Not being able to find a home" sounds like straight BS to me when several online retailers exist. I'm not so much gutted about the figures but the accessories, they were phenomenal. Now I'm beginning to dread SDCC thinking "A good chunk of this isn't going to see the light of day isn't it" Maybe Mattel sent out order sheets to the usual vendors and some of them turned it down or ordered significantly less in terms of numbers, to the point it wasn't financially viable to go into production? I dunno, just speculation Fair point, it just feels like a cocktease to have basically a final product shot and any moment now RSC would get the preorder only for the powers that be to say "Nope, not enough interest." Something seems fishy but you may be right, if even Amazon or RSC aren't enough

Damn I was looking forward to this set for both the figures and accessories. But finding a home for it shouldn't be a problem because weren't the last two sets sold exclusively online? Shame.

Just release Matt Hardy with the hologram drone, scrap Bray, scrap the boat, and figure out a way to make Mexicools with lawnmowers.

Man that’s a shame. A lot of cool accessories that came with that

The packaging looks really cool but I think I’ll pass on this one.

Lmfao Haha how do they get a detail like that wrong? So confusing... Lack of effort and laziness, or some kind of weird budget constraint.

I guess it wasn't such an epic moment ... which it really wasn't. The Final Deletion was also better.

I dunno, just speculation That's probably very close to what happened. Mattel has basically struck out at getting their product into retail stores over the last two years. Failed product development and relationships with their large vendors is a huge red flag. People keep saying that RSC should just pick up a million exclusives, and it's never that simple. RSC takes years and years to sell the volume needed on most exclusives, while those invoices come due far earlier. They're fronting tens of thousands of dollars for exclusives and recouping their profit over time. Doing that on 3-4 figures a year is one thing - do it on a regular basis is probably more risk than a small business would want to take on.

curious to why mattel shop doesn't sell it or could be a good test to try crowdfounding to order it, to minimize over production.

I’m not upset about it. The accessories were cool but I didn’t want either figure in the slightest. Just release an elite broken/woken Matt Hardy and I’ll be good.

It would have sat forever. Sets like that are a hard sell for Mattel. They need to do accessory packs and make them cheaper and stores might be more willing to stock it. Jakks had the PERFECT business model with the hardcore ring. Release a ring. Sell a cheap cage separate, sell ring posts and aprons separate as a pack. Mattel could have released an ultimate deletion pack and included everything but the figures and knocked it down a few bucks

I'm honestly not surprised this is cancelled, the moment it's based on happened in March of last year, i've said it before, and i'll say it again, DON'T reveal figures you aren't 100% sure are gonna get released
