WCW Saturday Night June 24th, 1995 Hosts: Tony Schiavone and Bobby HeenanThe Great American Bash was held on June 18th with an absent Hulk Hogan (since he is contracted for only a certain number of PPV's per year). Instead of Slamboree, here Paul Wight, aka The Giant makes his first appearance. Ric Flair has brought The Giant in as a part of an angle of a "Giant Surprise" that he has to reveal at GAB. The Giant says that he wants to meet Hulk Hogan face to face, the man who "beat his father" years ago (doesn't mention Andre here, but is implied). The main event of the Great American Bash determined a No. 1 contender for the WCW World title in a rare Steel Cage match that required one man to leave the cage between Ric Flair, Randy Savage, Sting, Meng, Vader, and Kevin Sullivan. Sting managed to climb the cage to win the match. Gene: Ladies and gentleman what a show the Great American Bash was in one of the most unique main events in recent memory I would like to call out your new No. 1 Contender for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship, Sting! (a big pop from the crowd). Sting: Wooooo! I've got something to say first. Hulk Hogan, I've got a lot of respect for you, and all my little Stingers know it too, that you're a great role model. But Hulk, ever since you came here a year ago where the big boys play, Hulk we have yet to step in the ring with each other. Respect aside Hulk, the WCW World Heavyweight Championship is what it's all about. Trust me, I've been down that road myself, but what better way to make history happen than to have the Stinger and the Hulkster step in the ring, one on one for the World title, and I know Hulk, you've probably thought about it too and you can hear everyone out here they want it, so let's do this. Bash at the Beach baby. Whaddya say Hulk? Owwww!! (Leaves) Gene: What a matchup that is going to be!

WCW Saturday Night July 1st, 1995 Hosts: Tony Sciavone and Bobby Heenan
Hulk Hogan makes a rare appearance on Saturday Night. He gets into the ring with Mean Gene. Gene: Hulk Hogan it's great to see you and as you know a the Great American Bash, Sting has become the No. 1 Contender for the WCW World title and I wanted to get your thoughts on that. Hulk: Well you know something Mean Gene man, I wouldn't have it any other way brother. What a moment it was when I won last year at Bash at the Beach the WCW World Heavyweight title for the first time brother. But history has always been on the side of the Hulkster brother, so Sting, I also respect you and your career no doubt you're one of the greatest in WCW brother, but I don't see how you and I should be in the ring when we're on the same side brother, the side of good with all the little Hulkamanics and Stingers brother, united as one... Out comes the Macho Man. Macho: There I was ya, there I was finally shaking your hand and maybe I was a fool believing Ric Flair that he was responsible for the titanic of my life sinking ya or maybe I've been right about you all along ya when the going gets tough Hulk Hogan gets going ya.. Hulk: O come on Mach, you and I are closer than ever brother let's not ruin a good thing. Macho: Ooo ya Sting earned that title shot fair and square ya, and you trying to convince him and everyone out here and those watching at home to not have a match ya that's twisted I tell ya twisted...maybe you are the punk that've I been saying you are all along ya... Hulk: Alright I admit that I don't think it's a great idea, I mean what does it tell the kids brother, I do have mixed feelings about it Macho Man, but if Sting really wants this, if he wants to step in the ring with me brother I'll be ready for him. Macho: Now that's more like it ya you better give him his match ya, otherwise you'll be dealing with me and you don't want to deal with me ya doesn't matter if you pin a man 1-2-3 they can keep coming back for you Ooooo yaa!

It looks like you hesitated, that perhaps you've shown fear for the first time in your career. Hulk: Well let me tell you Sting brother, I ain't afraid of what's going to happen to me brother, but afraid of what's going to happen to you and what will happen to all the little Hulkamaniacs and little Stingers what are they going to say after the match is over Sting? Sting: They're going to say we tried out best. I ain't worried about anything and know this Hulk, whether we lose or win, all those kids out there, all the people watching at home, this match is dedicated to them. Hulk: I am the WCW World Heavyweight Champion brother and it's going to stay that way forever, I know where you've been how long you've been in this sport, just remember there are thousands of Hulkamaniacs who'll be with me and remember this brother, you don't have anything to prove to me because I know all about you brother, and all you have to do is shake my hand and I'll put the WCW World title on the line at Fall Brawl brother (they shake) Lex: It's going to be a home run brother, and next Monday I'll be here again to make sure you commit to the challenge.
