Hi guys,
I’ve collected and played with figs for 30 years.
I need help on finally making the perfect setup for my young Son and I to have our shows on.
We don’t have a ton of room, but enough for like a coffee table or something maybe less heavy and more portable that can possibly fold up.
We want to be able to sit on the floor and play. Not chairs really.
Also want to fit a scale ring or maybe even 2 on it.
Any recommendations, suggestions, pictures, definitely would appreciate guys.
Thanks

I'll try to post a pic or two later but I can describe my setup for "play", which for me is more about setting up the figures in action poses and letting them sit for a while until I get bored, switch them up, and create another "moment in time". So basically, a constantly changing diorama dedicated to my love fo pro wrestling.
I have a half a ping pong table (4'x5' display space) with a RSR, an entrance stage and security barriers I made out of black foam board, a crowd composed of all my extra figures, mainly basics I got on the cheap or replaced with elites, wearing random accessories (t-shirts, hats, glasses) holding up home made signs and fat heads (these are easy - find images in magazines or WWE collector cards and cut out the head, and an announcer's table (RSC accessory) with Joey Styes and Taz announcer figures (Jakks figs but they work). I keep all my weapon accessories stashed under the ring or stuffed inside trash cans near the entrance stage. A TNA Jakks Winter is my ring announcer and I threw together a generic figure of spare parts with a RSC referee shirt to complete the cast.
I want to add a backstage location eventually and have a Jakks Jonathan Coachman figure for backstage interviews ready to go, as well as the APA table and door setup that right now that I simply don't have space to display properly. I really want to have the APA doing their usual beer drinking poker game with some other guys like R-Truth and Goldust.
Right now, I the "moment in time" I have created is Paul Heyman with his client CM Punk in a contract signing with Kenny Omega for my imaginary fed's world title. Kenny is joined by the Young Bucks. The Undisputed Era are approaching the ring to disrupt the proceedings. Before that, I had a MITB ladder match type scenario going on with AJ Styles and RVD on top of the ladder about to retrieve the briefcase (who knows which one actually got it because I can't choose between the two of them ) while the other wrestlers fought around the ring or were already out of action laying in the wreckage of a table, ladder, or chairs.
If you don't want something as permanent as a ping pong table, you could use a folding card table. I had one in my last apartment which was a lot smaller (the apartment, not the table). It was big enough for a ring with some outside the ring space for the steps and the announcer's table but no security barriers or crowd. You can slide right up to the table in a comfy chair and have fun making matches and such. It's pretty easy to clean up when you're done - fold it up and slide it away under a bed or in a closet until the next time you want to play.
EDIT: Yeah, I had a brain fart and missed the part where you'd prefer to sit on the floor. Fact is, I'm old and creaky so sitting on the floor isn't that comfortable for me anymore. If you want to do your thing with your son down low on the floor and the problem is having a stable surface (I don't know if you have hard wood floors or some kind of carpet), you could try something as simple as a board from a game like Monopoly or Trivial Pursuit. Lay it on the floor upside down and bam, stable floor for your ring and other stuff. You can use as few or many boards as you want to create whatever size space you desire. Those game boards are designed to fold up so again, cleanup is quick and easy, storage is simple as they don't take up a lot of space.

Please try and give me some serious suggestions guys. My Wife wants ideas for something she can get with my Son for Father’s Day. We don’t need any extravagant setup, just like a table with enough from, for a good price. Thanks again.

A standard 6ft plastic folding table is plenty of room, just throw a black sheet (or any colour really) over it and it's done.

And if you want to get real fancy, you could cut the legs to drop the height. Replace the rubber stoppers, and you should be good to go.

If you guys see any on amazon, please send me the link. Thanks so much.
