I think this could be fun.
What is a trend you like. Any kind of trend.
And then, what is a trend you dislike. Any kind of trend.
Does not have to be current.
I'll start with clothes.
I like Crocs. They were pretty trendy at a time. I've heard plenty of people call them ugly. At one time I thought they looked so dumb. But then I actually tried them and fell in love.
As for dislike, I really dislike sagging pants. I see people wear pants sagging very low. I won't make any cultural statements. I'll just say it looks so dumb when people wear pants below the buttocks, around the thighs. It looks so impractical and ridiculous.

Like: It took me years to start getting a fade at the barber but after a little bit of convincing, I tried one out last summer and love how it looks.
Dislike: Any trendy clothing brands like Supreme etc. When stuff like this gets popular, people run and spend $$$ so they can be seen as cool by their friends which if that boosts your self esteem, great. But what happens a few months down the line when everyone's stopped wearing it and the next thing comes along and you're down 100's of $ with a load of clothes you can't wear anymore if you don't want to seem like someone who's out of style? That's why I stick to the basics, 99 times out of 100 when you see me I'll be wearing jeans and a plain t shirt. They look cool, they're things you can get a lot of use out of and when they're worn out and you need new clothes, they're super affordable.

I loved the Jncos trend, even wide leg pants ala elephant ears, and want to support a comeback. I am old.
I dislike loud base. I don't want to feel my house or car shake because of it. Plus, it frankly hurts my ears. I use the 0 base line in my car. Again, I am old.

I can't stand: Skinny jeans, Von Dutch shirts, Tapout apparel, those stupid oversized baseball caps that say "OBEY", Adidas track suits, jorts, neon colored sportswear with black socks, any shirt sold at Spencer Gifts & corduroy jackets with elbow patches.

Particularly the people who line up overnight to get new Yeezys or Jordans or whatever. The shoes almost always look like crap too. Most of my shirts are simple things that could work in any decade. And I don't want to be a walking advert for Superdry or whoever. As for a trend that I disliked but now am grateful for, it's Fortnite. Still think it's a terrible game but I work for a shirt printing shop, amongst other things. When I saw that game taking off with kids I designed a shirt and hung it in the window. It became the shop's best selling shirt ever and we've made hundreds from doing Fortnite related custom items.

dislikes: colored socks. Nothing more silly to me that a person wearing red, orange, printed, etc socks with anything. Just plain white please. and extreme political correctness. You can't tell a joke these days anymore without butthurt.
likes: cheese in a can

Dislikes people who wear leggings, people who wear beanies in the summer. I especially dislike when people leave the stickers on their hats and leave the brim flat. I dislike when people don't take down their garage sale signs or when they don't list the address on the sign.
Likes, cars, trucker hats, NASCAR, antiques, doing situps thrifting.

My major dislike: Certain Apple products. The Pencil, IPads, AirPods, watch, & overall price of Apple products & especially the price of their accessories. I like Apple products & own them, but as cool & usefully as they may be, I just don’t have any use for those products & dislike the trend that “If you have an Apple product why don’t you have or must have... the following Apple products too.?”

Likes: Using CBD oil. It has a lot of benefits and is worth trying. Dislikes: any annoying modern slang or unnecessary shortening of words like fleek, lit, obvs, living for ____, we love a good _____, spill the tea, so extra, bae. Shut the up.

Gucci belts and Supreme clothing in general. It looks ridiculous and you're not impressing anyone.

Likes - shaven sides on other people (like Ruby and Shinsuke), wrestling shirts, snakebite piercings
Dislikes - face tattoos, vaping, vinyl (cd's are better in my opinion), ill fitting clothes in general, especially grey tracksuit bottoms that are elasticated at the ankles, the one random guy that persists on taking his shirt off in the middle of a busy street.

Like ceramic coating on cars
Dislike people dying hair grey, it doesn’t make you attractive. Also when people bitch about a food place that doesn’t have many options vegan/gluten free.

I'm the least trendy person. I don't think I participate in any trends from social media (when Facebook dies so does my web presence) to clothing trends I.e snap backs or tucking socks into joggers, to phrases crap ain't ever gonna be lit, sick or rad. I don't really bother with current music... Crocs are ing awful.
