Maybe they shouldn't reveal figures they aren't 100% sure they're gonna release

You still got me. However, screw Walmart and screw Mattel. Time for another toy company to get the WWE rights If this were to happen I'd probably call it quits on collecting. LJN - Mattel is a good run. I can't imagine starting over a 5th time. To those saying they're sick of flashback lines being cancelled, aren't modern likes being cancelled too? Just cancellations everywhere. Soon we'll be left with just the main lines, which is fine with me. It's the teasing I can't handle. Still butthurt over Itami. I'm pretty much done as a result of the whole Race debacle.

Or maybe sign better exclusive deals. I don’t understand how they sign an agreement to make figures exclusive to a store but give them an option to order those figures or not. If Target and Walmart or whoever want exclusives then they should be forced order the figures that they requested.

Great. Another 1 per box walmart elite. Great idea. Did wonders for the Sherri I never saw. The Harley Race disaster paired with this 1 per box walmart garbage has nearly killed me off. The last 3 years or so have been terrible. I've wanted Monsoon for so long, he would be one that I would bite the bullet on and pay e b a y prices for.

What do I have to be jealous about? They’re both annoying and it’s sad how collectors flock to them as their messiah 🤣😂 you could just not pay attention to them? I love their podcast and I like them as wrestlers. Also how is it sad that people listen to like minded people talk about things they love? You’re just being salty and coming across as bitter

Darn shame. Likely a result of retailers complaining about the PPV sets, how they have to give up their precious floor space for the displays that don't sell particularly well and usually get clearanced months later.
Don't know where Gorilla and/or Heenan may end up, but the Survivor Series PPV branding may end up being designated to a regular line series like E68 and its Summerslam theme.

Maybe they shouldn't reveal figures they aren't 100% sure they're gonna release THANK YOU! Mattel isn’t some Cracker Jack company. You know these are planned well ahead of time. I keep going back to when Wendi was canceled a few days to a week after she was shown. So clearly they knew she wouldn’t be going to Walmart or WWE Shop. I know a lot of you all like to see figure protos series in advance but we don’t need that. Just give us a series ahead of time so we know things are actually coming out. I’m not buying into anything we see at SDCC. Unless it’s E70 and B100-101, I’m just going to assume it’s just for show. Heck it’s not like Mattel hasn’t shown ooak figures at shows before 😂 Gooker, Liz and Macho Man dolls. Tbh I thought Monsoon was just for show! I didn’t expect to see kids rushing out to grab Heenan and Monsoon anyway

If Target and Walmart or whoever want exclusives then they should be forced order the figures that they requested. Spot on. Most of the biggest issues with the line fall under the job description of the account managers. But Mattel's financials haven't been pretty, and from the last Q&A with Bill it sounded like the large retailers are basically being allowed to call the shots. What could possibly go wrong... But Mattel is pretty much between a rock and a hard place.

One of the first things Mattel said after we found out about this earlier in the week (Major WF patreon) was that it will probably come out some other way. No need to panic.

Ugh not another plug for them 😂 Keywords probably and someway. It’s been a year since Naomi’s proto but there’s not been a word about her. Heck she ain’t been champion for two years!

For better or worse, word from a collector who seems pretty well connected and has had inside info in the past is that they have resigned for another 5 years, but it hasn't been announced yet. This makes no sense IMO, it looks more like a desperation move from a sinking company trying to hold on to whatever properties it currently has the rights to. The last renewal was in 2017, where they renewed the license for another 2 years- extending it from the original end date of 2019 to 2021. Now all of a sudden they are going to renew it for another 5 years- have sales of WWE figures suddenly skyrocketed in the past two years?! I don't understand how these figures continue to sell when the line has been plagued with terrible distribution problems that continue to get worse?! Also, is the decline in the quality of the current product not having any effect on sales of these figures, especially since the main market is kids?!
In theory, an extension would be a good thing for legends collectors as it gives more time for them to possibly release figures of the wrestlers many of us want made but with the constant cutbacks and changes, I am not very hopeful.

I’m not trying to claim to know how to run the business but...personally I’d like to see certain figures online instead of in stores. Right now my stores have the Ajs, Cenas, Rollins ect. There’s a few Gulaks around but mainly it’s the main guys. Since Mattel has made it evident that they want the main guys out for kids, then let’s do that. Keep figures like Legends and mid carders online. That way we know we don’t have to venture to the stores and get disappointed.

Good... this will give them time to correct the parts. Seriously, Michael Cole and Gorilla Monsoon get the same blazer?

I would have definitely bought the set. Can't imagine why they can't just slide it into the regular 2-pack line.

Take it with a grain of salt, but I read that Mattel pulled out all the stops to keep the WWE license, which is connected with them not retaining the DC license. They really don't have any in-house action figure properties, so I can see them going all in to keep the line. With the Fox deal and upcoming mainstream tv exposure, they are probably projecting increased sales. This was all before ratings started sliding. With Mattel's recent financials and cost cutting, I agree that it's definitely a desperation move. But also probably the best they can afford. No way they have the money or resources to outbid Hasbro for the Star Wars/Marvel license, and the DC license has probably been a dud with box office flops and the Multiverse line bombing.
