No shipping notice yet ? Guess I need to be a bit more patient. Ordered my 1st batch about an hour after they were 1st posted in May.
Diesel and JYD look great, Matt looks ok and Elias, not so much. Like that we are getting a guitar accessory though.

Love Diesel and JYD! Matt looks good... but I would have preferred an earlier (or AE) version him. Not really interested in Elias.

I have to be honest. For me, black pants grey shirt wwf champion Diesel was the dream. But I still love that figure! Can't wait to get it. I think they really nailed the packaging with Diesel.
I will also pick up junk yard dog too. I'm not fussed on the other two, but I love that Matt Hardy face it's hilarious.

While not looking through the rose colored glasses of nostalgia these figures look pretty bad. The best part is the card. Diesel is the only retro I’ve ever pre ordered and I just ordered it because it was Diesel. The original Hasbro figures were light years ahead of these.

On the surface, I feel like the set as a whole is pretty basic with not much detail. Granted, I understand the purpose of retros aren't to look like elite figures. I would have liked some pockets on Hardy, a scarf on Elias, or some tassels on Diesel. Still, I will buy all 4 if they ever make their way to the stores *fingers crossed*. I'm thrilled that a Diesel is finally coming out! Agree overall, though I think it looks like there are tassels on Diesel’s pants. |

I think the first 2 sets had some greatly done figures minus Warrior who I think just looks like hot garbage compared to his Hasbros. I think Undertaker is dead on what Hasbro could have actually done for a purple glove version if they were to have redo the mold. Lesnar looks great, so much like the Hasbro Borga. Then when they got to Sereis 3 and forward they've just been pumping out whoever they can while creating as few new toolings as possible. They just look like a cheap Hasbro imitation for the most part now. That being said, it's still better than nothing, or spending over a $100 per custom for the top quality work. And I will continue to buy the flashbacks, and probably continue to buy elites here and there to swap heads or add accessories. So, I guess Mattel knows what they're doing. |

Love that JYD, the scan is great. As for the Diesel...errr, no idea how a scan like that gets past QC. At least there has been a lack of jumpers in recent waves.

I still don't understand why Mattel don't just reduce an existing Elite or Basic head design to Retro portions and go with that - it must be cheaper than starting a new design from scratch and ending-up with the HBK and Diesel heads. I know some Hasbro fans want the "cartoony" look, but I'd always go for the best likeness of 2019 rather than a faux-1991 design. Mattel really should've invested in detailing the singlet top onto Braun since they were reusing the Brock chest anyway (great spot showbizpizzabear81 ) - it would've made both Braun and Diesel look a lot better, with other guys still to come for them to get some use out of the investment. Quick question about Elias' guitar: has that been used in the other lines before this? The photo makes it look like they spent a bit of money designing it to be breakable, which doesn't seem to fit with the cheapness of the usual Retro production. I have to be honest. Big Daddy Cool Diesel - Elite 16 head and design; use the Roman punch action with new singlet-detailed chest and back, call the move something like: The Diesel Punch!/The Diesel Pounder!/The Big Daddy Bash! (I'm not good at these...) 3. Fake Diesel - re-release the series 10 figure exactly like it is on a Glenn Jacobs card (maybe change the top to "Diesel Power" so there's some difference) - a good Ringside or SDCC exclusive option? 4. Wolfpac Kevin Nash - red outfit and head like Elite 16 Nash, maybe with a matching Outsiders Hall; use the Brock upper-body gorilla press action (with detailed singlet top added), call it: Snake Eyes! 5. Post-WCW Nash - not sure if Mattel have made a figure of his retirement run in 2011, but if not then use the Ringside Exclusive head and design; clothesline action called something like: The Nash Annihilator! or whatever, I can't really remember his nicknames during this time. Since Mattel are obviously reading this idiocy: feel free to use all of this obviously brilliant nonsense, or not - I just want more Retro figures released. Now about series 11... |

I grabbed Diesel and JYD, along with Sheik and Ryder. Had an order from Amazon for Sheik and Ryder, from February, that never shipped.
Even online the distribution for these is a nightmare.

I was wondering where to display this chronologically since I just ordered a custom of the Hasbro Diesel proto. I guess I could put the retro into 1996! Now they need Slice and Dice Ramariz. So we have Fake Diesel and Gillberg. Need fake Razor, what other fake wrestlers could they make? Could the S1 retro Warrior pass as Renegade maybe? |

It's funny if you look to the bottom right of the card, the diesel in the action photo looks better than the carded figure. The head looks different, and also doesn't have the elbow pad. |

The breakable guitar also came with the create a superstar rocker character; I had hoped this would be the guitar they would use. |
