Is USA a "developmental" network? seriously. and last I checked, most here felt NXT had the better regular programming to raw or smack down. people just cannot give credit where it’s due around here for AEW. But the people here are like, what maybe .0035% of the people watching raw and sd. Nxt is literally the farm system. They use guys in nxt to get them ready for wwe. It's how MLB uses MiLB.

Is USA a "developmental" network? Is WWE network a developmental network? Who gives a sht who broadcasts it. NXT is WWE developmental. Product quality doesn’t matter. What station It’s on doesn’t matter. Bottom line is it is WWE developmental. There's a difference from being some fringe thing exclusive to the WWE Network and being prime time programming. Like it or not, NXT is a prime time program now.

I will admit something. I was competely off about AEW and NXT, between who would be winning the "war" by week 4 and what the viewership would be. At this point i woulda thought NXT would start winning. They're dropping to below 700k viewers. AEW has won all 4 weeks. However, they've also been dropping viewers after week 1. They're at 900k now. So as much as i wanna give AEW uber credit, i can't give them too much credit because even though they're beating NXT in the ratings, they're losing viewers as well. I dont wanna hear that oh this thing was on this week, thats why they're losing viewers. Bulls***. The newness has wore off, now its just the hardcore fans watching. And it shows just how much NXTs viewership really is on the weekly basis. I hope both shows step it up and manages to get new viewers.

To be fair, SD was moved to a different network and up against the World Series. I'd put away the part streamers and cocaine for now.

AEW and NXT were both up against the world series and 11 NBA season openers also. It's not like FS1 is a tiny station, it's available in almost as many homes as TNT and USA.
SD getting moved to FS1 for a day was promoted all over the place. It was mentioned during games. If people wanted to watch it, they would seek it out.

Any asterisk you put on it doesnt change how huge that is. They havent even been on TV for a full month. More AEW fans wanted to watch AEW that week, than Smackdown fans wanted to watch Smackdown that week. That is signifigant.

I understand both sides of this battle between WWE fans (Raw, Smackdown, NXT) vs. AEW fans. I enjoy both products differently. I've seen more episodes of AEW than WWE in 2019. I don't own one piece of AEW merchandise. Chris Jericho is my favorite Wrestler of all time. The WWE Championship Title Belt is the most prestigious prize in Professional Sports Wrestling Entertainment. I'm excited to see what happens next in AEW. I love the rich history the WWE Network has.
With that being said, there is really no comparison between WWE and AEW. Until AEW has a second show on a second network, let alone a second channel (in the event AEW airs a second show on TBS similar to WCW Thunder), they're not really competitors. Until a 3 hour episode Dynamite is up against a 3 hour episode of Raw, they're not really competing. Until AEW has a developmental brand on national television, they're not really competition. Until I can pay $9.99 a month for the AEW Network, they're not really challenging the WWE.
When WWE is in Philadelphia, they put on shows at the Wells Fargo Center. When AEW is in Philadelphia, they put on shows at the Liacouras Center. The WWE put NXT on Wednesday nights just to give USA a replacement for Smackdown. When it comes down to it, it's still WWE's 3rd string lineup, no matter how you look at it.
No one outside of USA, FOX, and TNT should really care about ratings. Some use it as a measuring stick, but does it really matter to us as viewers?? Do you really care about how many people watched or didn't watch a show you watched or didn't watch?? If the ratings go up or down, does it affect you in any possible way??
Point is, AEW isn't the rival, they're just the alternative. If anything, the real battle here is Raw on USA vs. Smackdown on FOX. My question is, what's all the debating about?? Both sides of fans can keep repeating the same rhetoric, and neither side will change their preset opinions. The real winners are those of us who enjoy both and all for that matter.

I wish I knew how many of my posts got deleted on this site. For A bunch of loud mouthed wrestling fans who constantly argue, this place is full of sensitivity. All I Did was ask why dude was taking my OP so personal. And I called him Chris Jericho.
Jeez

Why do any of us care about ratings anyways? I don’t give a flying fluff. Went to Smackdown last Friday. Had a good time. What did everyone else do? Bitched on the internet. Get some fresh air people...
