Starting with the last one first, finding out Talos and his wife were acting as Fury and Hill the whole movie, that was a shock. I never got to read too much of the comics before, so I had to do some research after seeing the movie. From the sound of it, they’re starting to plant seeds for a Secret Invasion. I’m still digging into what all Secret Invasion was, but I can just imagine finding out that some of these characters are/were Skrulls the whole time.
Then having Fury on the ship with Skrulls in space, teasing S.W.O.R.D joining the MCU, that was a neat little way to shift Fury’s attention from Earth threats, to cosmic threats, moving forward.
For the first mid-credit scene, that scene genuinely shocked me a couple times, and continues to, the more it hits me how much that affects Spiderman going forward. I’ll start with having the Daily Bugle(.net), J. Jonah Jameson, and JK Simmons join the MCU. I’d say that was genuinely my biggest shock of the whole movie. I didn’t expect to see Simmons recast in the same role all these years later. (Maybe there’s hope for Hugh Jackman?). Then having this version be more like the Spiderman PS4 Jameson, that was an interesting take compared to how his character was in the original trilogy.
As for the footage Mysterio revealed, making Spiderman to be the bad guy, I did not think they would go as far as they did with that. The first clip, where it cut out as he said “His name is P-“, i remembering feeling relieved for a second, thinking “they wouldn’t out Peter like that”, then two seconds later, when the full clip played, and Mysterio put Peter’s picture up for the world to see, that was another huge shock. It’ll be interesting to see how Peter deals with the world knowing his identity now. I’m sure they’ll continue to play on the similarities and differences between Peter and Tony going forward. Where Tony ended Iron Man 1 revealing his identity himself, Peter was trying to hide his the whole time. I’m curious to see how he will adjust to it now that the cat is out of the bag. It also puts a huge target on Peter, MJ, Ned and May, at the least.
I heard rumors before FFH came out, that Norman Osborne was going to be introduced in a post-credit scene, but that didn’t happen. So as for future villains, I can still see them going the Sinister Six route. They already have Vulture, Shocker, Scorpion, Mysterio (if he’s still alive), and Aaron Davis (Prowler) in the MCU. I’m sure they could easily continue to introduce villains in the next film, whether in the actual plot, or as a post-credit scene. I feel like Norman is one of those people you could build up over time, and there’s also obvious characters you could introduce that have been done before, like Green Goblin, Otto Octavious, and Professor Connors. I’d honestly love to see more of the Netflix characters crossover as well. Mainly Kingpin from the Daredevil show. I haven’t seen much past season 1 of Daredevil, so I’m not sure if anything happens to Fisk in the shows, but if he’s an option, he would be neat to see in the MCU. Even some of the other characters from Netflix like Daredevil himself, Punisher, Ghost Rider. But as far as Spider-Man specific villains. I could even see them saving Aaron Davis for a Miles Morales MCU movie, going the same route they did for Into The Spiderverse. That’s another interesting story they have in their pocket, being able to set up multiple Spider-People down the line. Even if Mysterio’s “I’m from an alternate dimension, there’s a multiverse” story was fake, Marvel could still pull that off down the line if they wanted to. They hinted in Homecoming that Miles does exist in the MCU, so they already have that seed planted if they plan to let it show more down the line.

I agree with secret invasion being the next event , was hoping for secret wars but invasion will be nice. Hoping they will do a house of M and Messiah complex when x men come in that way they tie the universe to gather , then they can strip it down. I hope JK in spider means they can do a multi verse with Toby and Andre .

Really enjoyed the movie. Def. one of the perfect summer popcorn flicks to catch right now. Very comedic but I always welcome the brighter, fun superhero films as well as the gritty, dark ones. And with how likeable they made the supporting cast the jokes usually hit the mark very well. I liked Mysterio as the villain and I liked introducing him in the guise of a hero instead of the out and out bad guy-even though all I could think of was Mandarin in Iron Man 3....especially with Beck's motivations. Although at least he looked just like what you could imagine a live action Mysterio to be unlike Mandarin. The first post-credit scene was great. Did not expect them to bring back J.K Simmons at all and had everyone laughing and applauding that in my theatre. And it did a great job making you really hate on Mysterio as a villain with that shocking trump card turning Peter's life into chaos. I honestly would have left it at that to end really strong since there was more of just a wtf? reaction around me it seemed for the final post credits scene. Especially if you just a very casual fan going into this one, but I can understand from the standpoint of the avid MCU fans.

Am I the only one that thought Mysterio / Gyllenhaal was possibly the most boring villain since Kacillius and / or Malekith?
I loved Homecoming. But this one did not compare to it IMO
I love the kids playing these roles (Holland, MJ, Ned, even Flash made me laugh at least). They kept it interesting enough for me. Just too much Iron Man bs for me, too much Happy, the whole Mysterio thing (from the backstory to the execution of the disasters) was just forced and stupid
I love JJJ. Love that Spider Man got exposed
And the Skrulls thing was kind of dumb. Nick Fury sends Skrulls to take his and Maria’s spots on earth. Looks like a cheap way to keep Capt Marvel movie relevant to me (because this movie was a pure masterpiece when compared to Capt Marvel)
We all knew they were shapeshifters and why is it a big deal that Fury sent them (because he was to busy to be bothered with this story)

I really liked it. My only issue with the Holland movies is MJ. She's written like that goth kid in Breakfast Club. Negative Nancy. What does Pete see in her lol

Gyllenhaal was very boring in this. I didn't hate the movie but I didn't like it either. There is simply nowhere to go after the whole Thanos storyline. That dude killed half of EVERYTHING. You can't get a better villain then that. I thought the whole "We hate Tony Stark" angle is played out and this all made Tony look really bad! The whole "tech" they used Tony basically stole from Beck! So why do we care now? I think it takes away from the Stark character. SO. Here we go. Another thing that is going to destroy the whole Earth and all they can scrape up is Spiderman? Sure Thor is off planet but Dr. Strange is "busy"?? Um, the WHOLE EARTH CAN BE DESTRYOED. Maaaaaaaybe Strange could spare a little time. Why not even Hulk? Or even Wong?? Hell! I'd even settle for Hawkeye to help out! This one guy from "another dimension" of Earth just pops up and helps out and nobody thinks that is weird?? LOL It would have been more funny if it was Nick Fury giving Peter the stealth costume instead of the we never see again blonde chick. Have that one kid come in and Peter is there with his pants off next to a big, black guy with an eye patch. And Talos and his wife were Fury and Hill?? So again, the WHOLE WORLD CAN BE DESTRYOED and Fury would much rather be on "vacation" ?? LOL wow. MJ finding out Peter was Spiderman was eh. I did like the use of the Ramones song "I wanna be your Boyfriend" at the end. Ned "dating" that other chick was funny. Happy and May? Sure, why not. And I don't care what anyone say. I also think it was witches!!!!!! Mid-credit thing with JJJ was really cool. I like that JK Simmons is back in that role. He was the only thing I liked in the previous films. The last credit thing? Everyone knowing that Peter is Spiderman? Eh. Now Spiderman is going to be on the run for the next movie? Let's see where they go from there. I'll see whatever films come from the MCU after this but they, to me, really won't measure up to what we got from "Infinity War" and "Endgame". Now everything after is going to feel like the tv show "After MASH". Once "MASH" was over, there is nowhere they could have gone to give us storylines that strong as before. I rate Spiderman: 4 out of 10

I just wanna say I love Talos and it’s all about Mendelsohn. That dude was made to play this MCU Talos. He was my favorite part of captain marvel and I popped for the end credit scene.

I really enjoyed the hell out of it. Thought they absolutely nailed Mysterio. That post credits scene and getting JJJ back was absolutely wild. I thought Homecoming was one of the worst MCU movies made to-date. So this was lightyears better than that one for me. I actually tried to get through Homecoming on three separate occasions leading up to yesterday and I couldn't make it through it. I liked getting more Maria Hill and there was less leaning on the Iron Man relationship as a plot crutch in this one. Yes, there was a decent amount of it because of the Endgame fallout but the Iron Man stuff in Homecoming was nauseating and felt so overdone imo. Peter finds his own way after mistakenly trusting Beck in this one and it feels more true to the character.
I guess the Peter/MJ stuff is just socially relevant? Like all of these characters are incredibly socially awkward and I guess that's how highschool kids are nowadays? I can't say I ever felt MJ was socially awkward at any point in reading her in comics or on the show. She was always that confident bombshell that gave Peter strength when he doubted himself. That's missing. MJ should be pretty much exactly like Liz Toomes was in Homecoming. there is no counter balance. It's just awkward nerd (awesome nerd talk scene between Beck and Peter btw) and then awkward emo girl. It feels like neither of them would ever talk to each other in real life because they would be too busy having an awkward contest. It's not enough to drag the movie down for me but it's more so just disappointing how they've decided to depict her. To be fair, I thought Kirsten Dunst was probably worse. So it's all relative, I suppose.

The scene where Mysterio 'toys' with Peter for the first time, using the illusions is one of the MCU's finest scenes. Only rivaled by the bridge scene in Ragnarök, Thor in Wakanda and "I... Am... Iron Man." from Endgame.
