Reports are circulating that Vince doesn’t want to lose teen viewers to AEW, therefore they are looking to produce the edgy content they once did. I’m sure everyone noticed Corey dropping a sh#t and then Kofi flipping off Joe. These are just the beginning basically. I’m excited!

I wonder how the sponsers will feel about this. This would be a great opportunity to let Roman reigns be himself.

Their most popular demographic is 18-49 or something why the they decided to go PG is beyond me yeah okay now its fun for all the family but not all the bloody family are watching! Edit: I read too that they're adding edge to the product hence Graves saying crap (forgot we can't say the naughty poop word here either) and Kofi giving the finger, I'm sure someone said ass or piss recently too

Sounds like a good thing all around, but maybe specifically should be geared towards NXT which would probably have less kid viewers anyway

I’m pretty sure there is still tons of stuff they can do that is PG and is edgy. It also doesn’t have to be the attitude era all over again. Just be consistent and not be so predicable every week

I'm cool with some swearing and violence. A lil blood every so often is a good thing. And I could live with a side boob here n there.
But I don't need Live Sex Celebrations, Dr Hiney, Corpse humping, or old ladies birthing hands. If they can find a healthy mix between edgy and tasteful, I'm all for it.

I always felt the Ruthless Aggression era was perfect for that. You had some harsh stuff that was a bit extreme at times, but you still had enough good clean cut stuff that helped make it seem not as bad as the Attitude Era.

to me, it’s more about the aggression levels in feuds and also general expectation on audience’s intelligence that can differ between ratings. we don’t want a show for children. we want adult themes.
we want to hear this again:

As long as they don't treat the women as just sex object sideshows again and don't have people trying to chop each other's dingleberries off, we can live with a few bladejobs and swear words on weekly programming again.

You know, they CAN produce edgier and good content within the confines of PG, they just have to have the right people operating it. People forget that Smackdown was PG and mid-late '97 WWE was PG, and that was awesome television.

With Vince being the way he is, I’ll believe it when I see it

My main concern is The Women's Revolution. I really don't want to see Bra and Panties matches, gravy pools and bikini contests.
Women's wrestling has came so far and I don't want it sent back 20 years.

It's nice to see the effort being put in to spice things up. It'll be interesting to see how far they push the envelope. Women's wrestling has come a really long way in the last few years, and it's been to WWE's benefit. I don't think we'll have to worry about the women's division regressing back into what it once was.

I think the PG is fine. But their mistake was watering down the product so it was strictly catered to children. This is fighting on television we are talking about here.
Pro wrestling IMO is the first exposure parents are giving their children to violence. Theres no killing, no guns, no gore, etc. So with that, you are always going to have new children watching the show. Kids love violence, we all did when we were younger. The problem is WWE isnt making any hardcore fans for the future. The kids are growing out of WWE because it's become so hokey and childish. Thats why all of my younger cousins who loved wrestling grew out of it and stopped watching altogether. I know plenty of people my age who still watch or will catch a WrestleMania or some show. Hell, I saw people on my Facebook who I didnt even know ever liked wrestling talking about how great AEW All In was.
There is a way to keep the PG rating but still have an edge to your product. WWE hasnt found that after 10 years but it looks like the emergence of AEW is forcing them to.

Its obvious a shift is coming. PG era is coming to an end which I guess might mean the end of the Mattel deal as well.
