Not exactly what you were referring to, but after seeing the first Spider-Man film, my uncle bought me an action figure of him in his "wrestling" outfit. He had some pretty good title runs if I remember correctly. The other Marvel heroes used to sit in the stands and cheer him on.

Along time ago I helped someone with stop motion filming and he used all sorts of figures but I can't recall any that we used as enhancement talent. My only contribution on the figure side of things was I bought an X-Files toy, can't recall who it was, that came with a stretcher. The X- Files guy was never used but we got a lot of mileage out of the stretcher.

As a kid I’d use my non wrestling action figures as jobbers. Modo (from Biker Mice of Mars) was my #1 go to jobber to get his a$$ kicked on the regular.

In my old WCW Toybiz collection, I had a Masked Rider Gold figure as a generic Cruiserweight wrestler along with another Sting figure [It was from a comic book series?] that I used as Sting's brother for some reason.
Both I used as jobbers at first, but pushed them through the ranks. That latter one has always stayed in my feds for some reasons; In my TNA Jakks collection I had the classic flat top Sting to represent that same charecter as well.
I have the GAB classic Sting from Mattel [Currently have a small Sting collection going on separately from my figure feds: consisting of Crow Sting, GAB Sting, Jakks Classic Sting and the retro sting figure. Still need to get me Wolfpac Sting Mattel and the Wolfpac Retro as well] and have been considering introducing that character back into the fold.
