So i was thinking about this since we are almost 10 years into the Mattel license basically the point of this thread is to ask everyone's opinion on what has Mattel really offered us that jakks already hasn't before no I'm not talking about body styles or the scale of figures but new character wise not counting current superstars I'm talking flashbacks only that was never made by jakks the only ones that I can think of for Mattel is Macho Man Ricky Steamboat Miss Elizabeth Texas tornado Kerry von Erich Kevin von Erich Harlem heat D'lo brown Larry zybsko syxx Issac yankem alundra blaze the Shark and Pat Patterson also sting Don't count because the 2 tna ruthless styles already fit in with the rest of jakks same can be said for the rooster and they still haven't scratched the surface on half of the one's jakks did give us after all these years anyway what's you're guys thoughts on this

Macho Man, and he's one of the most fun characters to collect due to all of his awesome attires.

As far as I'm aware, Jakks never could do Macho Man or Ricky Steamboat in their Classic Superstars line. Same with the Von Erichs. I'd also add in interchangable parts as of late.

Better quality figures. As well as Balor, Neville, Rollins and any other wrestler who wasn’t in the WWE when Jakks had the license.

Fink JJ Dillon Wendi Richter prototype I thought Jakks did a Fink in series 19? I remember seeing one back when I collected Jakks

Yeah Jakks did The Fink
But the best thing they have giving us is REALISTIC SCALE... (see Rey Mysterio next to Kane for both brands)
However Jakks pretty much handed us entire collections in retail...

An appropriate sized Paul Bearer that doesn’t tower over taker and Kane. Also larger wrestlers like Earthquake, Yokozuna, Mabel, Kamala not just made in a ridiculous obese fashion.
I gotta ask if this is even a real thread? Mattel imo has blown Jakks out of the water both in detail of the wrestlers they have done, scale, quality, articulation and countless other categories.

Mattel are far superior figures, they’re just too hard to buy.

Mattel imo has blown Jakks out of the water both in detail of the wrestlers they have done, scale, quality, articulation and countless other categories. it's not about figure scale or styles as i stated above in the thread that has nothing to do with this at all it's about what new figures/ characters has Mattel gave and offered us that jakks didn't already make before since they've had the license not counting current superstars just flashbacks only

It's apples to oranges, because right now Mattel has little to no role in what wrestlers are signed. And that cuts both ways. They've produced an incredibly deep roster that includes pretty much every top star from the 80's-today, solid portions of the midcard from the 90's, and a lot of top names from the indies and Japan over the past decade. But that was mostly a case of right place, right time.
Personally I'm far more interested in having the top names Jakks never made (Steamboat, Sting, Macho) over the older stars and lower card guys Mattel hasn't made. Mattel not signing talent directly is a huge issue, imo. But overall they've produced an incredibly impressive roster of highly detailed and in scale figures that would be hard to top.

More accurate attires and scales, along with the few names Jakks couldn't do. Unfortunately the diversity of classics/flashbacks doesn't compare.

All the guys already listed such as Steamboat, Macho, Harlem Heat plus I count guys like Big Bossman, Earthquake, Typhoon, Dusty Rhodes among others because Jakks never really did them justice. Mattel hit those guys out of the park whereas the Jakks versions were pretty bad to the point of not even worth owning.
