Batista was recently on Talk is Jericho and revealed that he wanted his match against Triple H to be a Hell in a Cell match, but Vince nixed the idea because they have a HIAC ppv. In my opinion this is further proof why these stipulation ppvs need to go. I would rather have these stipulations used in a good/lengthy feud rather than them having a set time period in the year. www.google.com/amp/s/amp.wrestlinginc.com/news/2019/07/batista-reveals-stipulation-he-wanted-for-wrestlemania-35-656151/I would keep elimination chamber where it is as it’s a cool idea for it to be the last stop before mania. I’d put MITB back at Wrestlemania and have the women’s mitb at evolution or summerslam. Then have TLC and HIAC matches for good fueds when it makes sense.

I miss the days when the cell was used if a feud reached boiling point. It needs to stop being an October thing.
Same can be said for the Elimination Chamber. It should only be used when a multiple amount of challengers chase the belt.

Vince booked a Hell in a Cell match at WrestleMania 32.

imo, the cell should be essentially retired for the foreseeable future. it has been watered down, and if there is anything left to save i’d argue that at least a 5 year break would only benefit the gimmick of the match.
it may have at one time put butts in seats, and I don’t have the numbers to view the reality of the finances, but I rarely hear of these gimmick PPVs having a massive spike in attendance or viewership anyways.

I think it could have benefitted. The match was pretty gruesome for WWE standards so maybe they could have got even more creative. The feud was heated enough to warrant a hell in a cell match anyway.

Really enjoyed Big Dave talking about WWE and his last run on Talk is Jericho, he's always seemed to be a big fan and genuine with his intentions. He's become a bit of a meme but a legend for sure

Vince booked a Hell in a Cell match at WrestleMania 32. Possibly requested by the fruit of his loins...

It would have made sense since they had a fantastic HITC earlier in their feud. But I don't think it was 100% necessary. Match was fun regardless.

They also have a PPV called Extreme Rules yet the match was No DQ lol what kind of logic is that?

They also have a PPV called Extreme Rules yet the match was No DQ lol what kind of logic is that? It’s almost like either Batista is lying, or Vince was lying to Batista. They didn’t need a cell, he didn’t want to give them a cell, so excuses were made.

Agreed, 2009/2010 were ridiculous years when match types became their own PPVs: - Elimination Chamber - Fatal 4 Way 🤦🏽♂️ - Breaking Point (submission matches) - Hell In A Cell - TLC To me, HIAC is the match that ended a heated rivalry, now it’s just a overdone gimmick. On a side note that was the first Talk is Jericho I listened to since Jericho joined AEW and it was a good listen.

It's such a shame that a B event like TLC replaced a 5 star show like Armageddon. The old PPV's from the 00's all felt unique and had a perfect flow. IMO the only PPV's that should be named after a match are Royal Rumble, Survivor Series and maybe TLC. Though I think it was better when it was a Mania attraction.

Should have made it a Nose Ring on a Pole match.

Agreed, but even Survivor Series has basically become SmackDown vs. RAW since the 2016 brand split 🤦🏽♂️

Del Rio Vs Punk Vs Cena in a Hell in a Cell? Orton Vs Sheamus? I hate seeing feuds start and just get tossed into a HIAC or a TLC match because thats the next PPV. The only recent gimmick PPV I'm actually okay with is Money in the Bank. Everything else needs to go.
