Cut abit in the front. Slash does it, so can you. Afraid of messing it up like cutting too much or the wrong part or something. Go to a barber. They know what they're doing. Mostly atleast.

That awkward stage is annoying, used to wear a cap all the time. If you're in a place you can't wear a cap I'd just try some product and keep it slicked back until its long enough you can tie it. The awkward stage ends one day my friend! How long does this awkward stage last mate? Its taking my hair ages to get through it because its soooo curly, like ringlets curly. I think after about 18 months I stopped cutting my back and sides chap. Awkward stage seems to last forever

best thing you can do during the awkward stage is slick it back like cm punk did. then once it gets longer, you'll be able to pony tail it. This dude has insane hair. Listen to his sage wisdom. I wouldn't go THAT far.

I’ve had long hair since my teens and cut it off a few times in between. Last hairstyle I had were dreads and it came to the point where my hair was growing out. The dreads were pretty much weighing my scalp down. Anyways, I combed out all the dreads and now my hair is super dry and brittle. My recommendation for you since you have curly hair is to apply some hair product. Add some leave in conditioners made out of Shea butter or something of that nature. Hair gel works well too. Just experiment with some products until you find the one that works for you, I recommend anything sulfate free.

I'm not sure about your hair type I trained mine by slicking it back ponytail and hair spraying it. I'm not sure how long it took to train but even with my hair down after a while it maintained the slicked back look without any hair product.

I think ill just go with the natural look without any product, i guess its better for scalp as well by not applying anything so i dont get any product build up. I dont really care about frizz or anything, to me thats just hair being hair. Ill just part the fringe because ponytail doesnt work on my hair, it might well do when it gets longer, ill give it two years which will be in 7 months time. thanks.

You could always wear a bandana. That always keeps hair away from your face
