Hi, I was looking into buying a Tito Santana LJN figure off of someone from ebay. When I looked at the picture the timestamp on his tights says 1986. The Rick Martel one I bought is timestamped 1988. Did they just use the same 1986 figure/time stamp for the strikeforce one or should there be a 1988 time stamp on tito's strikeforce tights? Thanks for any info on this as I don't want to be duped into buying someone's old tito figure that they just painted white.

The Strike Force Tito Santana figure is a re-paint of his 1986 release. Same mold, different paint. He originally had blueish/purplish tights. It was just cheaper to re-paint his old figure than to make a new Tito sculpt.
But it's very easy to remove the paint, re-paint it & try to sell it as the Strike Force version. I'd be very wary of it.
Hope this helped.

Hi Tito-Strikeforce was of course from the same master mould but not necessarily from the same production mould. The mould stamp year should still be 1986 - but is the Strikeforce figure a P1? (although other production mould codes might also exist) P1 was also used on 1986 Series 3 Hong Kong made purple Santanas and also probably had some production capacity left in it for the low production levels that were required for 1988. The 1988 release of course used a new paint master (white!) and so... does the figure have the correct Strikeforce paint decals?
