I think Mattel will go with the classic black and yellow attire. The render does look good already so any color combination would probably work.
Most people want the shin guard, but would that require Mattel to just give his left leg a different boot mold or do you think they'd go the route of making a unique removable accessory?
A robe is a must especially for an Elite figure so I'm not too concerned about that.

A robe is a must especially for an Elite figure so I'm not too concerned about that. I would imagine it would be removable, Hammer didn't just wear it on the front he turned it around when applying the figure four.

I think if they were to do a shin guard it will work exactly like how E30 LOD wrist guards work right now.
