I got Retrofest Honky Tonk Man a few months back, and put him right at the front of my shelf. I have all my Legends on this tall plastic shelving and its near the window of my office/toy room, so a lot of direct light comes in through the window. I was looking at my display of Legends/Flashbacks yesterday and I noticed something really odd...and upon further inspection I realized that the "exposure" to the sunlight has turned the nice blue HTM jumpsuit into this weird looking light purple-blue! I couldn't believe it. And to be honest the window faces east, and there are a lot of trees around so its not like its sitting there in direct sunlight all day So I guess a fair warning to anyone else that has him on display, beware of the sun! Here's some pictures: This is the original picture I took when I got the figure (with the flash): Here are pictures with the flash I took yesterday: And without the flash The pictures dont really do the change justice as much as seeing it in person, but trust me it is a noticeable difference now I'm really disappointed, the whole reason I love that figure was because of the perfect dark blue jumpsuit

This is why I never display my figures near a window or I have a thick curtain in the room. At my old house (unbeknownst to me) for about a week my figures were exposed to natural light coming from the atrium window that was down the hall. Not heavy light but just enough to start fading the box art of my MIB figures.

This is why I make sure my shelves aren’t in direct sunlight. I try to put my shelves either next to a window where the cabinets act as a shield to the sunlight or against walls out of the range of the sunlight.

Theres this guy on my mail route who has an elite apa faarooq in his window and the box has been mega sun bleached. Im sure the figure has taken damage from the sun as well as its in direct sunlight all day long every day

you should know what sunlight does to colored fabric 😂 honestly this is the first time anything like this has happened and ive had figures on the same shelf for years. i guess none of them with the same kind of "fabric" that HTM's suit has

Sounds like a rookie mistake. But that sucks. You can still find HTM for a decent price

Direct sunlight is a killer for anything like figures, books, DVDs etc - I keep mine in a room with the blinds closed.

That sucks. I have blinds and shades on my window and my figures on the same wall so they don’t see sunlight much if at all but yeah sun destroys stuff after a while

That happened with the Intercontinental Championship that came with the E7 McIntyre. I had it on the RG Jericho on my computer table which was in direct sunlight and it faded to silver.

This reminds me, I posted a thread about how I hung my DM Undertaker from the ceiling in front of a window and the first thing everybody said was “better change those blinds or it’ll get bleached”. Well now I have to keep the light on in the room during the day, that’s how dark my new blinds are lol

Now you have the "factory error" or "jumpsuit variant" Honky Tonk Man.

You could spray the fabric with a uv protectant next time. I’ve always been worried about this when displaying.

Never really knew this. But to be clear, closed blinds without curtains will be ok as long as it's not direct sunlight?
Saying that I have a Retro Roman Reigns MOC in direct sunlight atm so that needs to change! 😅

You have the short packed Zartan Honky I inched down the page thinking "I can't be the only one who thought of Zartan". Props.

Ideally you should keep figures displayed in a room where the window is always fully covered completely except maybe at night. That’s hard to pull off depending but sun is a massive enemy to figs
