I fail to see what demographic they are trying to target with these. Bill said when explaining them in the Q&A “ 80s nosalgia is what’s hot right now” I thought it was more so 90s nostalgia that everyone’s been looking back on, TV and Movie reboots and what not. Bill is right...but not everything needs to commemorate 80s nostalgia. Especially crossover crap! I think the line will fail terribly. I want to know why we have so many things pushed or canceled but yet junk like this is getting put out?!? So actual wrestling stuff (Ultimate Deletion, Naomi, Richter) gets the boot and will “be placed in future lines” but some half a*sed crossover line goes into production? Yeahhhh I’m really wishing we’d just come together as a figure community and show Mattel we’re tired of the BS! To me, if you’re gonna do 80s lines redone then it has to be in conjunction with the original line. Since MOTU and POP already have a vast series that’s true to the original then all others need to stay out! Same with TMNT and WWE, don’t do it 😂. Ghostbusters and WWE, don’t do it. What are we gonna do Carebears and WWE next?

I'm not going to buy them, but I can't possibly see getting bent out of shape over the fact that they're going to production. Spin off assortments and franchise crossovers have always existed. The way people react every time one of these pops up, you'd think that Bill had come out and plainly stated that in the fourth quarter of 2019, Elites are being completely eliminated in favor of 80s/90s franchise crossovers from here on out.
LPT: if you don't like these, don't buy them. Then, if they're left on the shelves to rot, you can come here in six months and gloat about how right you were.

I think they’re cool and I was a classic MOTU fan, but not something I’ll be getting. I save my wrestling fig funds pretty much for elites I want and there’s always Elites I want. I’m gonna get the Ghostbuster line because they’re still more standard Elite wrestling style but these are a pass most likely

It seems like an organic crossover, they might end up being pretty cool.

I'm a ghostbusters fan, and I'm an HBK mark, and I don't want any part of that line. I think I'd actually rather have a Peter Venkman in wrestling attire.
I have even less desire for a MOTU line. Don't understand who this serves, other than Mattel.
If 80's nostalgia is their reasoning, well what's more nostalgic to a wrestling fan: An Elite Iron Shiek or HHH as Skeletor? I'm gonna give them a clue... HHH was never Skeletor until just now.
Isn't the retro line full of nostalgia? If only they picked a better lineup and made the cards look better to really give off that nostalgic feel... oh what's that? They've cancelled the retro line? I see. But nostalgia is in!?
So, what's next? a Jurassic Park line? Man, I cherish those nostalgic memories of AJ Styles doing doughnuts in a Jurassic Park Jeep. Here's my money, Mattel!
Unfortunatetly, Mattel will go where the money goes, and that usually means they won't be focusing on things like Dynamite Kids, Wendi Richters, Slicks, the Freebirds, Jesse Venturas, etc (actual 80s nostalgia)
Makes me really appreciate Jakks output with the CS line.

Yeah it just seems iffy. I don’t get how they can’t find places for Richter but I’m sure the MOTU line will be placed somewhere. The Monsters clogged shelves, the Zombies clogged and the last wave didn’t even come out to stores around here.
Unfortunately I don’t think anything will change if we don’t push. If there is one thing wrestling fans and toy collectors do well it’s getting things changed when they collectively uproar. I think it’s time we buckle down and get Mattel to focus on the Basics and Elites. That’s really all we need. Basics serve for kid collectors, Elites serve for more adult collectors.

I think they’re cool in concept. Can’t see it lasting more than a couple of series, though in all honesty I doubt it’s supposed to. Surprised there’s not a Becky/Alexa/Charlotte as She-Ra.

i'll buy all the old school figures that allow for every piece of gimmick junk to be removed/swapped out so even macho and sting that's what's great about this line is the torsos pop off. so if macho has permanent armor i can pop someone else's torso on him hope they all have the same skin tone

1. I am a HUGE WWF 80's fan.
2. I am a HUGE He-Man and the Masters of the Universe fan.
3. I have NO interest in this line (other than the Macho Man at Arms) -- (Why didn't they go Man-At-Arms with Macho? He's more like Battle Armor He-Man)
4. How is Triple H cool enough to be Skeletor? Maybe Papa Shango but he's TOO obscure. Stone Cold Steve Austin would be the closest (Smoking Skull) badass to be Skeletor.
If this line doesn't appeal to me (I have all of the original MOTU figures, Classics, Reaction, etc). I have all of the Hasbro WWF, Mattel Retro, who does this appeal to then?
Very odd and niche and will probably flounder at retail.

As someone who just paid a small fortune for a MOC Scareglow, I must say I have very little interest in these figures either. I will probably get the Macho Man one and maybe a few others once they are on clearance. I really think Mattel misjudged this one for sure...

I *was one of the biggest fans of retros. They are 100% ehy i got into collecting in the first place. The only thing I blame for the cancelation is poor distribution. As much as we didn't want this to happen, I think we all saw it coming. Hopefully it will be revived at some point, but I doubt it will.
That said, I will probably buy a Macho Man figure and maybe a Sting, but not too interested in the others.
I was 100% against the Ghostbusters at first, but after I saw the nice packaging i might buy some since i keep mine moc.

The cross over lines just don’t do it for me. Not monsters, zombies, or even turtles & ghostbusters. (I’m an 80s kid too so turtles & ghostbusters were huge) but I don’t need the mix. I don’t think this Iine has anything to do with less retros but Hard Pass. I liked the turtles as wrestlers but wish they were all dressed up as legends and not 1/2 legends and 1/2 current roster. The only figure in the turtles crossover that wasn’t a legend was Finn Balor. So it was 7/8 legends.

Not really for me but one of my best friends went crazy for them when I showed him the pics. He-Man and wrestling are like his 2 favorite things so its a win-win for him.

So it was 7/8 legends. Rock seemed more like modern Rock with the Brahma Bull tank. Cena was an active roster guy. Sting with a soul patch is definitely modern Sting. Even Taker was a modern Taker. So more like 3/8 of true flashback legends.

I like the idea. I collect MOTU as well so this crossover is appealing to me. Probably only grab warrior and macho though mainly due to space.

I personally feel Motu fans will come to this line more than WWE fans. It's fun to look at, novel concept but much like the Ghost Busters cross over (though better done then the TMNT crossover) will be a huge waste of space. Now had they made this online exclusive? I'd be content, because it wouldn't effect main line collectors. However if elites and basics fall off plan-o-grams for this? It's a pretty dumb idea, especially when Mattel had the number one boys action figure line in basics. Be happy at the top and maintain seems a more stable option then looking down and losing your footing. Xoxo 😘 T-O-P-L-E-S-S scores man out!
