way better Q&A than the one done during the event. I don't know why we always hype up the Bill Q&A when AFA always seems to provide far better responses to many more relevant questions. THIS!!! 100% agree! I think it’s because Action Figure Attack is one of us!!! Lol

Bill is the designer and Steve is marketing. Bill is probably tight lipped on a lot of things because he’s probably not 100% sure what he can and cannot say. Since it’s Steve’s job to market the product then he’s going to likely know more on what info can be made public. Plus Steve hasn’t been insulted and ridiculed by the action figure community like Bill has so he’s not bitter towards us yet.

I never understood what was so difficult about a referee figure... I know the actual refs are not under merch deals, but how does that stop them from releasing a generic referee figure? It doesn't have to be modeled after an actual ref. Just give us a generic head if you have to!
Earl Hebner had figs with Jakks... Why can't this happen with Mattel now?
Also, would Albert technically count as a first in the line when we had Tensai?

I assume it would be a tough one to justify. Although a basic ref surely wouldn’t be that much less marketable than a Drew Gulak or others at that level.

All of Sean Waltman's gimmicks (X-Pac, 1-2-3 Kid, Syxx) have been designated as different characters. Same with Fred Ottman (Tugboat, Typhoon, Shockmaster). I think as long as the gimmick has a different name it's a FTITL. I fully expect Viscera for instance to get designated from Mabel

What I don’t get is that Mattel has released ref attire figures (HBK, Batista, maybe more) and they’ve released generic heads in the CAS line so for everyone that wants a generic ref then why not use the parts Mattel has already provided and make one?

And that term has been besmirched and dragged through the dirt in the past year Such a strange term I don't "collect" anything - I buy things I need and I can use I find buying things just to store away or put on a shelf in their package strange. People who like looking at things in packages but not opening or using them should just hang out in the shop. All just comes down to personal taste. I just always love to see people who also share the same love and passion for toys/action figures as much as I always have, whichever way they prefer to keep them. There's been a lot of creative, imaginative packaging over the years with some really cool looking art. I actually like when people can have an appreciation for things like that which most people who just consider trash to throw away. The old Playmates action figure lines are a good example with all of the little jokes and gags they put all throughout the carding-especially the classic TMNT line. Plus there's thing like foreign language packaging that people sometimes like to collect as a variant, error cards that some people like as an oddity or certain poses for the figures in the packaging that can vary which certain collectors are into. etc.... All of those things can be interesting I think to look at, talk about and display just as much as loose figures and collections.

Why Mattel never released an exclusive basic ring with a referee figure just boggles my mind. They could have done so when the cas line was out. They did make a referee accessory set.

It was more of Wwe didn’t want a referee made I think Bill mentioned which is why they released the shirt so you can have whoever be one

WWE has final say and up until Danny Davis we hadn’t gotten the green light for an actual ref.

I would be perfectly fine with it.
